The amount of work and effort that must go into each piece is astonishing ,also the vision and talent required in the first place. Absolutely beautiful result ☺️
When I first started watching your channel I was to weak to even operate my phone at times. Since then I have progressively gotten stronger and able to be up more and more, so…… I’m not there yet but ……. I’m blown away with the beautiful things you make and determined to give this art form a try. Thank you for your videos. You just don’t know how much they have helped in my recovery.
Love how it turned out! Personally, I like the semi-gloss finish this has more than the super gloss that a resin coat gives, it feels more ‘real’ somehow.
That looks awesome, Brother! MaryAnn asked me to tell you that this is the 2nd time she’s sat and watched with me, and she really loves your work. Have a Great weekend👍
Hi Douggggg I'm mesmerized when you pour the resin in. You said it's bubbling up that's a good thing, why is it a good thing? Ohh nice angle I like that top view! Wow, you are getting right in there! Wow it really does look like lava, I especially like how it looks like it's oozing out on the inside. Wow you really are talented. I get what you mean about the shine, it's like a cloudy shine, we can only notice when we look at the logo. It's really pretty, I like it Douggggggggg!!!!!!
Morning handsome, well what a beautiful bowl the colours enhance the stunning burl, the shape is great,, altogether it's a hauntingly striking piece. I love it 😘😘 hope you and Barb are keeping safe and warm. Kisses for the puppies 💋💋💋💋
👍🏻great job Doug. I have been a viewer for a long time. You make me giggle! My motto is…”If you can’t laugh, what is the point!” And you are my kind of guy! Thanks for another great watch.
Doug, I love this bowl. The beautiful orange and red resin really compliments the girl to create an absolutely exquisite piece. I really enjoy your videos. Please keep them coming.
The colors work very good with the wood. Really like the shape of it also. You got the knack for sure 👍👍👍 Thanks for taking the time to make the video. Great job.
😮😮😮 That turned out soooo amazing!!!!! When I look at your bowl, I picture a busted open burning log. I think it’s what everything you said and more!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Wow, I LOVE the color combination! Your work is always so inspiring. My kids even bought me a small lathe for Christmas a couple of years ago... Some day I'll get a chance to try some turning.
Thank You Martin, well that's my Opinion of it, I've gotten to many complaints from customers about the shine being gone after I sold it to them, that right there was a good enough reason for me to stop using it, and again it's just my opinion.
18:56. What turning during an earthquake looks like. 😁 Looks great Doug!! Outstanding work as usual. Thank You for all your work and efforts to bring this to us!!
@@PohlBarnProductions No worries Doug!! That was just the first thing that crossed my mind. Which at 2 or 3 AM isn't always the brightest of thoughts. (The first thoughts that cross my mind. Heck, sometimes the second and third aren't either.)🤣
This came out beautiful. A Carmel sunburst. Watching you guys makes me want to buy a lathe and give this a try. As a carpenter/framer, I love all things wood, so this inspires me. I tried to use some "resin" from lowes about 12 or 15 years ago and let's just say I wasted $500.00 dollars lol. This lady (longtime client of mine) wanted a mini bar/counter top put in as I remodeled her kitchen/dining room. There was a wall that separated the 2, so I cut the wall in half, put in a header and oak bartop. I had the great idea to make it look like a real bartop you see at bars. This was before resin was big, (well as far as I know lol, I didn't have anything but Facebook at the time). Well I had bought a sheet of ¾ Oak plywood and went around the edges with solid oak to hide the layers. I followed the directions, and Definitely should have tested it first lol. Well I guess I didn't mix it well enough, idk what happened, but only half hardened and the rest stayed sticky for over a week. So needless to say I had to do the entire thing over again, but this time just put quite a few layers of shellac and tried to build it up to a decent thickness. She loved it, and ended up remodeling her entire house. She is one of my favorite and best customers from the day 1, since I started my business. I learned a lot since then lol. Recently I had helped my dad make a memorial for my sisters, nieces and nephew that was murdered and we used that stone coat countertop stuff. It worked pretty well and is yellowing a little. It's on a wall in a patio I had built for my parents. It's not in direct sun, so idk why it's turning yellowish. It's not too bad yet tho. I've learned a lot by watching you guys though, so thank you and stay safe buddy. Great work
Thank You Frankie, I started off a finish carpenter then on to Cabinetry, this was just something to do while I was here bored and it grew and grew, yeah I started off using that counter top resin from Lowe's up to the point Total boat contacted me, that resin stays soft and scratched to easy for me
So here I am, the last one to cross the finish line. I had watched most of your video as soon as it was uploaded and then forgot to finish it when I was interrupted. Great peace, Doug! I really love the way the resin looks. I was thinking myself about mixing up some shine juice the other day, and I'm kind of glad you tested it for me. I'm not sure it's the right finish for me anymore.
Absolutely love love love it ! That ugly yellow was necessary it gave it more interest. It does look like lava (therefore the cracks were appropriate for the piece, haha) the copper color is gorgeous. Another 10\10 👍 Have an awesome weekend I hope it's not too cold anymore.
Another gorgeous bowl. Fantastic idea that came to fruition. Love the colors and it really does look like lava and/or flames. Love the channel and keep up the GREAT works! Looking forward to your next video.
You are correct, all wal and oils have to be removed before the shine juice is applied. Cap. Teddy said at one time if your shine goes away, either your mix is wrong, old or did not get it hot enough. Best luck. I don’t use it either 👍
Love the color swirls- even the cheese sauce ended up having a purpose in contrasting the copper and the darker surface where the resin soaked in. Definitely on fire from within, even if you're not happy with the surface shine. Thanks for sharing!
Oh Sooo Awesome❕️😎👍 It Really does look like It is on Fire 🔥. Sorry I didn't get to say it before. But The Dog Fur bowl looks Amazing 😲!!! The Bowl looks like it is made out of Semi Precious Stone 😎👍

On 2021/05/18 you replied this to me about shine juice.
Thank You Martin, the shine juice only lasts so long and it's not shiny anymore
Thank You Martin, well that's my Opinion of it, I've gotten to many complaints from customers about the shine being gone after I sold it to them, that right there was a good enough reason for me to stop using it, and again it's just my opinion.
Lava looks great. I agree with you about getting a shinier finish would look great. But you made Lava . Awesome!
Thank you Bruce! yeah still not a fan of shine juice
Greetings Doug, beautiful colours mate. A fantastic job well done, keep smiling.

Oh, forgot to say in other videos...I heard a wood turner say it's easier to burn your logo before you put any finishing on.
