How did we get here?
After a year of full time travel living the van life, we had to adapt when the world changed. To keep busy we’ve converted our tiny house on wheels into a fully functioning off grid tiny house that has everything we need. Realizing that none of us know how long this new normal will stick around, we made the decision that building a home here was the best decision we could make. We've spent the last year doing EVERYTHING involved with coordinating and planning the build ourselves as well as setting up this off grid property to be able to provide us with the the food we'll need in the future. Hit with constant delays and building price increases, realizing our dream of building our own home has taken longer than anticipated. With travel starting to reopen again, we've learned so much about the importance of having a home base. and are excited to continue our build this dream here while also doing what we love most, exploring and seeing the world!

The day we've spent the last year planning and working for is FINALLY here, just in time for Tyler's birthday and Christmas...it's been an emotional week for us but if you take anything away from this video, let it be that you can do absolutely anything you put your mind to. Over the last few months we've really pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones and accomplished so much more than we thought possible...it's really ignited a fire in us, which is pretty lucky because we're only just getting started. Thank you for being such a big part of 2021, we'll see you all in the New Year. Sending you and yours all the love, especially this holiday season. Who knows, maybe we'll ring in the New Year like we did last year in a live video, thoughts??

Wow, Todd's numerous visions (bridge, flower boxes, a pool, etc.) are only matched by his boundless energy! He doesn't just have the ideas and then sit back and watch Tyler do it all; he says it and then gets down TO IT. LOL, the tree is beautiful. Y’all are so sweet. I can’t even get my bf off the couch to go to Taco Bell with me, let alone go build a geodesic dome. Your combined work ethic is beautiful and enviable.
I spent all of 29 worrying about 30. Then my 30’s were awesome. Woke up on my 40th, took a look around and realized nothing had fallen off, hit the floor running and was in the best shape of my life. 50 was sort of a “what the hell, where did 50 years go to” moment. Then I turned 60 this past summer, and I found my “calm”, even had a young guy at work thank me for “my calm”. Had a helluva past year, and you guys helped. So, thanks, I genuinely appreciate what you do here. My point is, expect 30 to be awesome. And things just get better from here on out, and easier in a lot of ways. 😎

Weirdly enough, I think we almost like it more here in the winter. It’s just unlike any place we’ve ever been…that said, escaping to a beach for a week wouldn’t be the worst thing right about now 😂
