About American Sniper:
Academy Award® winning filmmaker Clint Eastwood (Flags of Our Fathers, Letters from Iwo Jima) returns to the wartime genre with AMERICAN SNIPER, starring Oscar® nominee Bradley Cooper (American Hustle) as Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history. But there was much more to this true American hero than his skill with a rifle. U.S. Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission: to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and, as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname "Legend." However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq, becoming emblematic of the SEAL creed to "leave no man behind."

To all those who made it home and all those who didn't, I salute thee... ~USAF Vet, 2MOX2
Rest in Paradise Chris. You are a Legend. The world will forever remember your name.
I’m a retired Marine Corps GySgt who had 3 tours in Vietnam 🇻🇳 and was a Marine Corps Drill Instructor. I loved the Corps but it was very costly. I lost my family because I was gone from them. I was medically retired as a double amputee with 100% VA. 😢
Thank you for your service and sacrifice to a country that did not treat you well upon your return. Sorry you lost your family due to that war. From an Army guy.
Thank you so much for what you did for our county, your commitment and your service to so many. My Dad was in WWII, his Dad was in WWI
Semper fi
There are no words I can adequately write, to express my gratitude to you and ALL soldiers.
Thank you so very, very much.
@@MRBOWR Thank You My Brother.😇
As an 8 year Army Infantry veteran I can tell you that what this man did was nothing short of supernatural. I spent most of my time with the 101st Airborne division. A legendary unit full of tough hombres. But we were like kids on a playground next to the Navy Seals. They were playing chess while we were eating crayons. Warfighters so finely honed and deadly that it honestly made us feel like cavemen fighting with rocks and clubs. The crazy part was, they thought WE were the real heroes.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 layer
101 airborne ? was it the Easy Company ? (Band of Brothers)
@@johndoe-cd9vt The 101st is a Division... It has 3 infantry brigades the 502, the 327 and the 187th each brigade is made up of 3 battalions, and each battalion is made up of 5 separate Companies.
Easy company was a company in 2nd battalion of the 506th Infantry brigade that was part of the 101st Airborne Division. It no longer exists. It was deactivated after WW2. When they deactivate those units the get reassigned as training units somewhere just to keep the lineage alive.
Seeing this in theaters with my dad is one of my core memories i hold with him.
He passed away 4 years ago from fentanyl but before he got into the drugs he was a completely normal hard working single father, guy would give you the shirt off his back and literally go out of his way to help you if you needed helping.
Pretty sure we went to the dollar store to get a bunch of snacks and snuck it all in to watch the movie ahaha
Because my dad was a CAF Jet engine mechanic he loved anything related to the military so it was just destined for me to love it aswell.
I think the first war movie we saw in theaters was 2012’s act of valor and the last one was 2016’s Hacksaw ridge.
Sorry for your loss.
this movie is one of my favorite Hollywood movies. Unlike other warfare movies, this movie focused on the humane side of a soldier. That's the point that makes this movie special and different from other movies. I read Chris Kyle's autobiography. His story was scary and heartwarming and sad at the same time. Both movie and the book are amazing. If you haven't read Chris Kyle's autobiography, you should start reading it. it will touch your heart and make you cry.
A fantastic movie. The ending is a tearjerker for sure.
RIP and thank you for your service Chris.
What happened to him?
@@Photo_doctor he was taking out a veteran shooting with a charity to help with his ptsd and the veteran shot him
They turned an M60 into an abrams, special effects are nuts
Great people involved! Such a heartbreaking end to a mammoth story and man. Best movie ever!
Thank you to all our servicemen and women who made the ultimate choice to serve this country and to go out there putting their lives in danger to protect those who do not have that calling. I do not think there is another director who could have done it better than Clint Eastwood. I have seen this movie several times and not once did I criticize it. It felt so real and I cried at the end when they made Chris's funeral part of the movie. That was the most respectful and ultimate nod to honor this American Veteran as well as all American Veterans it ranks up there as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the honor this nation should have for our military.
Hard stuff....as usual Clint Eastwood scores a winner❤ The journey from script to production is a story in itself.❤❤❤
I always wanted to be in special force services...however life took me in different path. I am big fan of war movies...from ww2 to vietnam war, to Afghanistan and iraq war...i have watched lots of war movies...true based war movie is my favorite... i dint know Chris was alive when they started planning this movie. Its one of my fav movie of all time...everything was perfect...❤
Maybe if you also search and watch the physiological damaged they end up with and maybe the no benefits they get once they are veterans. You won’t feel you lose that much.
Chris is still alive or?

@paolamarchena1486 ya I understand...bt I guess it comes with the package for some.

Incredible documentary. Thank you for making this Warner Bros and everyone involved behind the scenes.
amazing people, many thanks!
Great work Everyone...Clint is just beyond Words..!👌
Fantastic coincidental timing! I was thinking the past couple days about re-watching this movie and then this BTS documentary gets uploaded right around the exact same time. Thank you.
Thank you for your service Mr Pollard
Amazing film, such a tragic end to a hero's life
Blood, Sweat, and Tears...thank you ~ Saluuute'''
very emotional story for me 🥺😞🙏
Blessings to Kyle and Taya and their beautiful children. Bless our military Warriors and their heroic families. Thank you Clint and actors, actresses for a awesome movie to know their life's story...Hooya..!

It is great to hear about the story maker in film....screen writers do not get the shine they deserve❤❤❤
I like Eastwood's movies. I like Eastwood's face. he is cool. he is legend.
Happy 96 year old Birthday Mr Eastwood. What’s Next’s? ❤
Mr. Eastwood,_ isn't 96 years old he is 94.
Great movie that shows beyond the military issues of war but how it affects the humans involved in the life of that soldger. Seeing the struggle Chris had between additional tours and his wife and family at home.
Great movie! Story was told beautifully. I just wish there was more attention to the small details, because those are equally important.
Has to be one of the best films I have ever watched!! Truly amazing story and one that definitely had to be shared
Great Great movie!! You got it right!!!❤
Love the story and the movie 👍
Great movie to watch over and over.👍♥️Love this movie of a real hero♥️
im not into wars or war movies, however this one of the fewest war movies i do enjoy enjoy watching
You're clearly a wuss
I personally think that Brad is one of the best actors in America right now.
In my opinion there is no greater sacrifice that you can make than to be an American soldier.
I disagree; I'd say the sacrifice of ANY soldier for freedom and democracy, be it American, British or any other like minded country is the ultimate sacrifice
16:18 - eyyy Mustafa is a pretty chill guy after all!
World best films and cartoons maker is WB.I love it.❤❤❤
Except for Welma which is woke trash.
Great story and movie
A movie made with love and respect. ❤
Rest in peace, Chris Kyle. 8 April, 1974 - 2 February 2013.
Great film, and super emotional
I find that unbelievable they shot that film in 44 days
Great movie
I thank all who have served to protect our freedoms! Although they make a great sacrifice to fight for our country please don't forget the wives and children who are left behind. I am the wife of a 26 year retired senior chief. I went through 6 deployments and weeks and months of work ups leading to those deployments my husband did while serving in the Navy. He was on his first deployment when we had our first child. Being left with two children to raise and no supportive family it took a toll on me. In 1997 I had what I call a nervous breakdown. The stress placed on me came crashing down. I was hospitalized and went through severe depression. Spouses go through a lot trying to support their husbands and holding down the family while he is away. Not only do service men and women go through difficult times, so do their spouses.
Fantastic Movie.
This is amazing man
GREAT SOLDIERS....
Best movie ever ! You felt like YOU were actually there? Cooper was fantastic as Chris!
Yes this is great ❤r.i.p.brother
That’s how grandpa Clint got started on his movie career after the military. He was casting cowboy movies on the movie ranch
Navy SEALs… Best of the best
Please do one on the Reaper!!!
Combat missions great show. Dever was on that
Morocco is the Middle East? 15:35 Had to point that out, otherwise thank you for making this film letting people know what we have asked our veterans and their families to sacrifice.
If it wasn’t cowboy movies, grandpa’s always busy doing military movies since the time I can remember that so we grandpa’s been
I did 7 years army. YOU got it right.
Thank you for what you did for our country ❤️
A lot of the movie is completely fabricated. Chris Kyle‘s account in the book have been proven to be inaccurate in both the court of law and in the Navy.
.
I watch this piece of art every year
well done team!
What a Film ,, an what a BS government we have ,, ,,,,man do these Warriors deserve everything,,Seals Delta,,all S.Os.
Mr.Eatwood, _ is 94 not 96.
Anybody know if they're still planning on getting Clint to direct the Jessica Buchanan story?
one of the best movies ever created
Remember. Land, sea and air
Soldier? I guess rifles arn't the only thing that have triggers :D
I like the last clip when Sienna Miller kisses Clint Eastwood on the cheek, a lot of respect in that tender moment.☘ :}
I wonder if the actress Anna Kendrick was asked to play his wife. They look alike. RIP Chris
Too bad the TRUE story of Chris Kyle is VASTLY different.
(If you are curious about the truth search it here on YT. Recently fellow SEALs and special operators have disclosed the truth about Chris' actions in war and some ummm "domestic" problems he had with his wife. Lets just say "hero" may not be the word you choose to describe Chris after hearing the truth.
regardless, Clint is the man and made a great movie
And if you want also want to ruin Lone Survivor for yourself, research the real story of what Marcus Luttrell REALLY did during Operation Red Wings. This one hurt, bc I LOVED that movie. But the TRUTH is more important than Hollywood, especially when more than 20 US soldiers died.
You'll never know what really happened. People always like detracting other people's stories. 🤷♂️
@@menachem2521 Really? are you aware of how many solders who were in country with Chris Kyle and have 1st hand stories about Task Unit Bruiser?? Just because YOU were not there does not mean other people were not.
So YES people DO know what happened!!! YOU may not be interested in learning the truth (bc you thought the movie was cool, or something) but PLENTY of people are trying to make the truth come to light.
It is very hard when the US Navy is protecting the truth from coming out and even worse GLORIFYING it so the SEALs look like a superheros and get more tax payer money.
Time to wake up
@@menachem2521 Oops my reply said something negative about the US Navy so it got deleted. SHOCKING
Let me instead say "OF COURSE the Navy ALWAYS tells the truth and they would NEVER EVER embellish a story just to get massive public and congressional approval to receive basically unlimited tax payer money to find their programs" (which they have at DEVGRU, literally unlimited)
People all also unaware that a certain 3 letter agency works hand in hand with Hollywood to push certain narratives bc they know Americans believe everything they see on TV/movies.
LOL😂😅🤣😜🤪😝
It's sad that people refuse to learn, like the commenters above.
America stop fighting unnecessary wars and policing the world take care of your people and VAs
Wild Dreams...a mystery!😅

It's a nice video and great movie but he wasn't a Soldier, he was a SEAL. No disrespect to either one but we need to get that right as well.
I thought the same thing when they kept calling him soldier.
Morocco is North Africa, not Middle East. Americans, please, learn some geography. We know you have to learn 48 capitals, but try your best to not disrespect world's geography again.
Yeah, that was pretty cringe when I heard that. That is where basically all Hollywood movies film a Middle East scene though. I don’t think it’s worth insulting all Americans. The capital joke could be funny, but it felt more like an insult. I don’t believe many people actually think Morocco is in the Middle East.
Imagine sending false copyright claims to 'The ArchCast'.
Why upload this now?
I'm not complaining, really, I love this movie but I am a bit confused
Can we see the behind the scenes when they chose a plastic doll for the baby?
He was a navy seal right? which would make him a sailor not a soldier.I know how marines feel about being called a soldier do sailors feel the same way.All semicis aside I understand what they meant.
Sienna Miller needs to make up her mind: It's either American or British accent
This was originally a Steven Spielberg project. Eastwood's film avoids criticizing the Iraq invasion, which is very one-sided and based on lies. This is the difference between Spielberg and Eastwood.
Spielberg was very much in favor of the invasion of Iraq and tends to not criticize the US publicly. So I doubt he would have done that if he had directed this.
“Who’s counting” ??? LITERALLY ALL SNIPERS COUNT!!!! 🙄
entirly back?? you never fully come back thats what a lot of people dont understand
The movie was BS, based on a book that was BS.
Please elaborate on your incendiary comment. Pretty bold words without any context. Were you a SEAL? If so, what was your BUD/S class? I’m sure Don Shipley would be interested.
@@music4dages Other SEALs and Marines who were there pointed it out. Show us on the doll where truth hurt you.
@@barfo281 That’s interesting. Many other Marines and Navy SEALS said just the opposite such as Marcus Luttrell, Andy Stumpf, Sean Ryan and Don Shipley. Funny how you demurred on answering my BUD/S question. That’s revealing.
@@music4dages What are you talking about, SEAL groupie? You think just because someone isn't a SEAL they can't criticize them?
The SEALs I saw in "action" were unimpressive. They were physically fit, for sure, but not tactically anything to brag about.
And all of these stories you love have been disproven by legit people (who were there) who are not glory seekers trying to cash in on being Rambo, like the clowns you named constantly patting themselves on the backs.
Run along, weird SEAL groupie.

Do SEAL's get a creative writing class in BUD's?

0:53 No, it shows 1% of 1% of al military service member's military experience in Iraq.
99.9% of folks that deployed sat on a FOB/ airfield eating McDonalds and that's a huge disconnect between the military community and the civilian world.
