    Brilliant! No point in wasting fondant to be under the cake. Love this method.

    I know I've already given this a thumbs up, but just wanted to add that I tried this method last night when making my daughter's birthday cake! Such a good tip for covering a cake board. In the past, I've covered the whole thing which is obviously a waste, but from now on I will definitely be doing it this way. It was far from perfect when I did it haha, but I'm sure with practice, it'll come 😂. Thank you so much x

      Oh yes it certainly does come with practice!! Once you've nailed it, you'll be fine :D x

    Thank you I used this method for my last cake and it was Brilliant! Would you recommend adding tylo to help stiffen the fondant to avoid dents etc?

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  3 роки тому +1

      Great!! I usually only add tylo to figures or letters/shapes I'm cutting out, you will want a little bit of stretch and flexibility for this method to smooth the join at the back and stretch it to cover any short parts if needed, so I would probably leave it out. You'll get neater at it though the more you do it! xx

    I’ve tried your method a few times but I struggle to get the join looking neat. Do you rub the seam with the heat of your hands so you don’t see join or just cover it with a decoration. Finally caught up with all your vlogs now watching all tutorials from the beginning. 😊

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  5 років тому +1

      Yes if you rub the seam together that usually blends it, then you can go in with the smedger tool and buff it :D Lots of designs though usually allow a bit of decoration to cover it if needed :D x

    Going to try this today and thank you for the tutorial. Do you have to put any ribbon around the bottom of the board or can you leave it like that pleasd? X

    • @Cherrycakeco

    Do we have to wet the cake board?

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  5 років тому +1

      If the paste is sticky enough you wont need it, but if its a little dry then you can of course put some water on it :D x
