I just happened upon your channel by chance. I just want to say good job on being innovative; however, most importantly, I am super impressed that you take the time to respond to each question. I read through the comments and repeatedly saw the same questions but you patiently replied each time. Some other channels they don’t even reply to all comments or questions. Impressive 💯 Great job. I was so hesitant to do metallic drips because I didn't want to paint the drips and ruin a cake. Your tutorial is just what I needed! Thank you so much for sharing!
I think this is so much better than painting on the drips! I saw another video of royal icing drips and these are much better and ur method of just a little powdered sugar helps to not waste a batch of royal icing! Sometimes painting over candy melts don’t look good! It leaves a water colored look that I don’t like
Oh my goodness, I LOVE, LOVE this method!!!!! Thank you!!!!!! Saves so much time. I hate how long it takes to paint drip and then feel like mine is never neat enough. This method is AMAZING!!!
I am so pleased I found your channel! My back was so painful after painting the last drip cake, I will definitely be trying this technique - thank you!
Omg thank you so much! You are literally a life saver, I had to paint rose gold drips and it took forever and wasn't as neat as I wanted it to be. Now the next time I do it, I'll use your method. Thank you so much, even saved me a few bucks from buying gold paint edible paint on Amazon lol. NEW SUBSCRIBER!!!❤
Thank you so much for this video! You are a genius! I'm about to paint my drip with luster gold but your tutorial saved me from having a mess. More power to your channel. You deserved a lot! God bless! ❤️🙏
I used this method and it came out beautiful, thank you for sharing! One question, can you use any flavor extract or does it have to be lemon? The lemon taste was pretty strong and that might not go well with some cake flavors
Love it! Quick question can I use vodka instead of the lemon extract to mix with the highlight like I normally do or will the result fare differently do you know?
Great tutorial!!! Love it, will try it. 3 questions: 1- Will the drips beak or crack if the cake is transported to another location? 2- Can the cake be in the refrigerator after decorating, will the sugar drips melt? 3- How long will the drip stay pretty on the cake after taking it out from the refrigerator, will it last the whole night until the couples cut the cake? Thank you
You can defiantly transfer the cake, if it stays cool. Yes, the cake can be refrigerated, mine was in the refrigerator for a few days and was perfect. It really depends on the temperature in the room, like any cake, it needs to stay cool.
@@chaleesebakescakes Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it would have to be a clear extract. I've used extracts that were not clear, and some are even quite dark.
Hi this is so helpful. Would you recommend painting the top of the cake in the chosen colour after applying the drip? I’m not too confident in pouring liquid on top and smoothing it out just yet.
I’m creating a gold drip anniversary cake this weekend with a pineapple filling. Instead of using lemon extract, do you think pineapple extract will work?
This is a great tutorial. Thank you for doing it!! But i am wondering what other substitutes for the lemon extract will work. Not flavor wise, basically instead of extract. Any good extract is very strong and leaves a taste behind which I dont like. Also is this pure extract or imitation?
Unfortunately, it has to be some kind of alcohol. It doesn't really leave a taste at all. it works with both, pure or imitation extract. I have a video that I posed today, answering lot's of questions about this fun drip!
Chaleese Leishman amazing! I’ve never seen this technique. Do you think you could use any flavor pure/imitation extract, as long as it’s alcohol based?
This is amazing! I have a question, once the drip is on, am I able to put it back in the refrigerator without it messing up or potentially sweating? Thank you so much!
Thanks for this video! Can't wait to try it for my birthday in October. Just a Q, was your cake chilled beforehand to set the drips from running too far down? I usually do ganache drips so always chill my cake first as it slows the warmer ganache ....... never tried just icing sugar and lemon!!! Sounds SO much easier ! Thanks all the way from NZ
Yes, my cake was chilled before I added the drip. Also, it really depends on your consistency, that will determine how far your drip will drip. 😃 This technique likes to make your drip, really runny. So, consistency with your powdered sugar, really depends on how far you want your drip to drip! Good luck!
You are AMAZING!!! I have tried so many different ways and I’ve never seen it work so well. Eeeee GAME CHANGER. The hours I have spent painting gold drip OMG. Thank you 😊

Yes you can!

Hi! Thank you for this video. Will refrigerating the cake after applying the drip going to effect it?
It you get the texture of the drip right, it will not effect the drip if it goes in the refrigerator. 🤗

Beautiful 😻 Does this harden as it dries?
Yes it does!
Hey, Amazing by the way!! Can you tell me if the drips dry hard?
It doesn't't dry hard, but if you get the consistency right, it will set up just fine. 😉

Hi beautiful drip 😍 do you know if my frosting is whipped cream would this drip work ? Thank yoi
I've never used it on Whipped Cream Frosting, if it's pretty stable, then yes!
Does the drip taste like lemon or can I use a different extract flavor? Thank you so much this looks so much easier.

It works on cream cheese icing 😊 pretty similar to whipping cream
Yes, I've tried it but on non dairy whipped cream - or stabilize your whipped cream with gelatin so its more firm
