  • This video is very important. Although it may seem as though we are jumping on a trend, this is extremely important to the DID community. This video is meant to be more of a conversation with the original video than a callout vid.
There's so much more we could say but we feel that it's more important to stay focused on the positivity. As with everything we can't know everything so if we missed something you noticed you can put it in the comments. This will be the only video we will be doing on the subject. We feel it is important to address the situation but not focus on it. Instead we will be moving on and promoting education and positivity. We hope everyone will be able to heal from this, we are also struggling with issues from this whole ordeal and want to support you the best that we can. If you need to reach out our email is diversityofmisfitsandaether@gmail.com we will try to respond the best that we can. Lots of love Acrylic and Aether

My biggest issue with her is that she goes about everything the WRONG way and it just looks like it's to get attention. She called Nin and her system crazy and that couldn't be any farther from the truth. Just because someone is different doesn't make them crazy. I have a biiiig problem with Trisha but instead I'm just going to thank both of you and your systems for speaking up about this and letting us see responses from people in the DID community. I hope you both are staying safe in the trying times we're in right now, much love *air hugs*

What upsets me the most about this whole thing is it seems she merely watched 'switches caught on camera' videos and tried copying them in this new video and it's CLEAR she's acting. On top of that, people who have sat through podcasts or long videos of hers for as long as she has been online, will never witness 'switches'. I have been watching Trisha for YEARS because she IS a troll and it's entertaining, and she only posts her "breakdown" videos when she's feeling ultra-trolly that day. While it makes me mad she is doing this, it has brought DID attention and is actually helping legitimate channels. I never really thought about DID but when I saw her first video, then Anthony's video, I subscribed to you, DissociaDID, MultiplicityAndMe, etc and have learned SO much. So hopefully this brings light and proper INFORMATIVE information on DID. Thanks for your videos!

Self diagnosis is a great starting point, but as someone who struggles with MI and works with others who do, seeking professional help is incredibly useful. you may think you have 5 MIs, but in reality it could be a complicated 1! (MI= mental injury/illness)

    • @daan626
      @daan626 3 роки тому

Yes, I feel like self diagnosing can be very helpful, but it shouldn't stay at that because for some people ( teens) life is very confusing and they don't understand themselves and may be suffering from something entirely else. This is a common argument against self diagnosing but i feel like that could be the first step to understand what is going on in yourself, if you seek help they can also help you if you are suffering from something completely else, so it is not a rigid and hindering thing , a self diagnose

It’s so sad that she’s getting the attention she’s seeking. She doesn’t care about whether it’s positive or negative, just that she gets it no matter what. UA-cam really needs to turn off her comments, subscriber count and like to dislike ratio- cut her off from her main source of attention and maybe she’ll finally see herself saying this crap and realize that she looks like an idiot. Food for thought.

Great educational video. I learned since after her video that Alters can come out to eat food, and this video helped me understand how that can happen. Also, I learned that alters can be named in many ways, instead of already knowing their names as they enter the system. I've been watching videos and educating myself on DID for over a year, and as you can see from my comment, there are still things I'm learning about DID, and proud to say that. I'm proud to support the DID community by subscribing, sending love and positivity, tweeting, retweeting, commenting on videos etc. Tjis community is extremely important to me, like close friends/family, and I'm so glad I'm a part of the #Gobsquad !! ❤❤❤❤💓💓💓💜💜

Yess spread the facts! This is what people need!
A little tip I've heard to understand why the name was changed from mpd to did is this- the actual problem/disorder ISN'T having alters or "multiple personalities". The problem is the dissociation & the memory loss that results from so much prolonged dissociation/dissociative barriers b/w alters.
I know it's hard for me to understand stuff, that really helped it click for me!

I do wish she would she would haven't called our community crazy though. Not only did it hurt me because I too have DID, she hurt an entire community with DID. I have commented on here before thanking Chloe for the video from the video titled "You don't want DID". She did an amazing job. Then I see this video that this lady put out... my system and I (I'm the host of this body, Sadie she/her 30) have been going through so much. Recent trauma has been brought up. We are going through rough times. That video did not help us at all. Whilst I'm not bashing her at all, her video was damaging to me and my system though. It isn't a party in my head where my alters just come out when they want. It isn't how it works, again I'm not bashing this lady at all. I just wish she had better information on some topics before making said video. Thank you from England Sadie host She/Her 30 I hope I am making sense. 😭😭😭😭 Thank you so, so very much for making this video.😭😭😭😭😭😭

Thank you for addressing this. I was upset that the woman called Nin "crazy" yet wanted to claim the same condition herself, and she seems to want to 'act out' based on the way she's referred to all her alleged alters in only negative, toxic terms. No one with DID is going to be using their alters as excuses for poor behaviour and that's exactly what this Paytas is claiming for herself by alleging to have DID. The one good thing from this is hopefully DID is given more focus.

I can't remember much of my life.

  • @user-mk9uv4dj7k

Thank you for such informative videos. I've been out of therapy for almost two years now. Starting grad school (for social work, actually) and also trying to set up my first situation of living on my own has been it's own nightmare. I don't know why I can't deal with things the way I'm supposed to (I often go "unfeeling" for long periods of time only for the emotions that I haven't felt for weeks errupting at once), and it all got me thinking a lot about myself again.
I was never diagnosed with DID--and avoided self-dx for it as I really didn't think it matched up with me. In spite of very very *very* prevalent dissociative symptoms along the lines of DPDR, I just didn't feel like it was realistic to think of myself in terms of DID. I have huge memory gaps of a lot of my life, but I really chalk it up more to "lost memory" due to not being attached properly to life than actual amnesia. The trauma that I do remember just feels either mundane compared to the usual par for course, or I'm told how I "shrugged it off" very well as a kid and I can't remember the emotions to confirm or deny that. I've also been learning about how parents with dissociative symptoms can affect me too.
The biggest thing that stands out to me is feeling like the child from this life was not me; I don't feel possessed, I feel like I am the possession that took over someone else's life. And when I think of that kid all I can feel is just this thing angry at me and the world. That and dreams. There's a lot of reoccuring people in my dreams that I think know me. I've made my bed with one prof-dx of BPD/PTSD; even though I don't really get the whole unstable relationship thing, I think it's the closest way to describe a very weird intersection of unstable identity, dissociation, and psychotic stuff that I do go through.
This is long, and kind of selfish/self-absorbed. But I'm really grateful for the resources you all put out to be informative. I don't think it's my place to be in conversations about systems, but I hope that there's space for me to find what I relate to and what differs. Maybe not in the same community, but at least in the same family of communities. Love what you guys do.

And thank you, my concern, as much as there is concern for the D.I.D. community is for those who have self diagnosed. Because it seems whenever someone spreads misinformation about a disorder, especially mental health, and they claim to self diagnosis, it seems people go on a witch hunt to devalue those self diagnosed. There are plenty of people, unlike Trisha, who do not have the resources to go out and get a therapist, and there are those who are working with a therapist after self assessing themselves. I'm concerned about newly discovered Systems and how people are going to react to them now, because of this behavior.

And have to do it like 3 times until I can think to put my pin in not just random numbers. It comes when I’m mid conversation saying something I wanted to say and then bam it’s gone and I’m gone and I nod and my body looks like it’s still in the convo but low key I am not there...hard to explain but like intense zoning out, sometimes I get stuck. It’s weird and annoying and sometimes a piss off. That person said she had BPD a little while ago, also spreading misinformation. Either way. Some have things. Some don’t. Some know what they have. Some don’t. Can’t judge. Can’t say. I know what I go through. That’s it. I wish ANYONE WITH ANY MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES THE BEST OF LUCK on their journey.

I won't say it but I may have already called the person I wont say again the word you said not to say. Sorry. But it is very harmful what she is doing. It took me my many years to admit and come to terms with my DID diagnosis. Being called fake is not good for us or anyone. It is invalidating and we with DID already argue with ourselves and try to convince ourselves we made it up. It just really hurts our system because we are still learning to grasp and come to terms with. We are not even close to there. This just reminds me it seems we are always going to be fighting this stigma. It is just not safe to talk about it. It just feels like we are being laughed at.

And I’m just a singular who wanted to learn more a year ago, and has become very invested, as it’s helped me in my own ways. Everyone I’ve seen has been so respectful and open. And just clearing up scientific falsities.
    Much love always 🖤

So I’ve watched a few of your videos on this channel but hadn’t subscribed yet because I typically turn to DissaciaDID or Team Piñata only because they were the first systems I came across and the main ones that have helped me work with my therapist towards my diagnosis. But I’m subbing now because I have SO MUCH respect for the way you all handled this video. Being new to this her videos who will not be named (loved this), really hurt and invalidated me and made me question the work me and my therapist have done. Thank you for this video. Thank you for showing her respect even when she can’t .. much love to all of you.

The sass in the beginning. I live! I also agree that nobody should be called f*ke and if you ever feel uncomfortable with the way it is being presented instead of going on a w*tch hunt or trying to prove something, just distance yourself, it's super easy to do. Please make a t-shirt with "there is no ass in dissociation" a coffee would also be great, basically just anything. I need it on all the things. :p A sticker is great too though. XD I loved this video, it's great and really informative and respectful, I only wish she was as respectful. I hope the misinformation is mended by her and she apologises for the hurtful statements she made. ❤️ Take care all, you're so appreciated. -Ember

I wake up in different places then I go to sleep, I hear voices, I do some stuff without remembering/knowing I do it, I also don't have a good memory and I have started having flashbacks :( but i am not ABSOLUTLEY sure. there would be reasons for it. things have happened to me and i have been thinking about them a lot of my life and feel like crying a lot. there is so much. nevermind I cant put in into to words. help.

I have to admit, this is my first time watching Acrylic as a system and I would muchly like to say hello and thank you to Chloë (and Kay) and to Kai for a ton of helpful info. I've been rather selective on my video watching and I mean no disrespect by it. I have a personal...blockage, if you will, where I do not feel entitled or allowed to see what's going on in others' lives. While I know from the titles of the videos about the engagement, the alter prom, the wedding, etc., it's not something I may watch. But, nonetheless, these kind of videos are deemed "safe" and I am quite eager to learn more about the good and bad side of things. One thing I'm quite vague on is DID vs. OSDD and OSDD's variant diagnoses, like, what differentiates these? How do they relate or not? Which kind of doctor or psychologist or such do you have to see to start the path of diagnosis? All of these questions I'm vague on. I will strive to watch more of Acrylic, with permission, and get quite helpful info also from Aether and Multiplicity & Me.

Thank you thank you thank you, you guys are making me understand so many things...I had a little show themselves to me a couple days ago and it made SO much sense...I’m pretty scared to go to my therapist and talk about it, I’m terrified they will just write it off as non-existing...Because I for sure know my husband will never accept this unless it’s officially diagnosed..he’s very supportive, but also really rational so DID would for sure not seem real to him unless a professional says so. I’m literally just starting this journey, damn it’s scary...but thanks for the education, and telling me I’m not crazy 💕 much love from Belgium

Wonderful video. I don’t care that Trisha did her video. What I care about is her going after a UA-camd who literally didn’t do anything to her. Nin doesn’t make videos on youtubers. She did one interview. End. And Trisha shouldn’t be getting her information from a movie stereotyping DID.

We have to be careful with how we approach this. What a lot of people commenting on her videos forget is other systems can see what they say and can apply that to themselves. Now is a time of supporting the community and not tearing one another down. We understand where you're coming from but unlike her we're viewing the bigger picture ie our community

@@AcrylicAndAether i can understand and no ppl with DID should not be getting the backlash from her acting this way. she is and will always be like this, wait a month or so and she will have something new. i'm sorry but i'm not blaming the group all together, i know someone with DID and i call them my child, but she needs to be stopped, not encouraging her to keep doing this. Everyone i've learned a lot from all the channels i am subed to that has DID, and i thank you for putting this info out there, cuz it helps me understand my kid to understand what they are going thru. But i am one person that is not going to put her up there in the same group as y'all or anyone else with DID. Much love to both of you.

I'm trying to stop making fun of my guys.. because one of my coping mechanisms is to trivialise myself and prevent anyone from taking me seriously, plus we've been treated as delusional by mental health professionals... So I just get scared of taking them seriously.
I just don't really know what we are yet so I don't want to treat them like people if it turns out they're not, and I'm just making it up or whatever.
But I'm trying to stop. Because, you're right- it not only hurts them but it's deep down about belittling myself and my coping mechanisms. And that's not cool 😕

As the host of a system that was just diagnosed by an objective, psychological assessment specializing professional within the mental heath field on Thursday, April 29, 2021, after nearing five years of seeing various providers for the treatment of different diagnosis that have been tossed around over the entire course of our time with our over three year standing therapist and psychiatrist team, in addition to hospitalizations for comorbid symptom clusters of eating disorders and suicidal ideations and behavior caused by the distress that accompanies the generalized anxiety, panic attacks, persistent depression, and major depressive episodes that we have split between us, who both admitted this year to us and my/our parents as having individually and mutually alike changed their minds on what we actually have more than with any other patient either of them have ever had in their combined decades of experience without question or a doubt in their minds, after me finding hard evidence of our switches caused me to go briefly dormant for a couple of weeks caused the emotional, physical, and sexual protectors of our system to put a valiant effort into juggling everyday life in my absence, and reveal themselves to our therapist and my/our parents in the most calm and articulate way he could in the case of the first aforementioned protector, and both of their, as well as both of my/our parents', responses being that everything was clicking in place and finally making sense or being accounted for, from things that they have seen with us from the day of him coming out to them as not being me to years and years ago, all the way back to our childhood, I would take an entire K-12 school wrongfully teaching their entire body of students that Split is an accurate representation of Dissociative Identity Disorder, not Multiple Personality Disorder, as that diagnostic label was replaced by Dissociative Identity Disorder in 1994 with the introduction of the DSM-IV, that's the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fourth edition if you are unaware, the book that the mental health profession used primarily here in the United States as their holy grail blueprint for the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders until updated to the latest version on May 18. 2013, any day of the year for as long as I live and am capable of coherent speech over her or anyone else saying even a single more uninformed word about the topic otherwise, as at least I can explain what is wrong with the representation of Split; I cannot, however, make any sense of pretty much anything she said about having this extremely stigmatized, sociocultural/traumatogenic disorder, which I, and at the remainder of the half of the system I am am a part which I have fair to pretty decent communication with, find extremely unfortunate.

in early 00's a plural person told me they are NOT the same disorder. they differ with severity and or one being a trauma based situation with splitting, and the other just a bunch of people who have nothing to do with mental illness sharing a body. I don't know now. there were momments with this person's live journal where I could almost predict their next soulbond-fictive headmate that would come into their system. they were playing a lot of kingdom hearts and got very into it, and got two characters from there. if they were really into an anime the following 2 weeks, I would predict one of the cast would be a new system member, based on a soulbond-headmate

You all (every system I have seen comment on this issue) have handled this Trisha woman with far more class, decency and respect than she has shown any of you, I think she truly needs to step away from everything and get herself some actual psychological help asap, it's horrific to see the damage she is inflicting on whatever community she has decided to target this month, seemingly just for attention and likes, all I can say whilst still being nice and respectful on the subject tbh

i understand why people are upset with Trisha what she did was very hurtful to Nin and her system as well as the community, but as someone who struggles with BPD when i first discovered Nin's channel i related in a lot of ways and was not sure why and I can see that Trisha obviously felt the same way. She was trying to reach out for help but unfortunately she did it in the wrong way and caused harm to an innocent group of people.
