Hey CT, it is so cold up here in PA. I am a Florida boy at heart. I went to school for chemical engineering at USF and eventually got my PhD. I would gladly offer my help when I move back down. I sold my house on Siesta Key when My mom got M.S. and I moved home. I really regret it now. I love seeing the sunny weather in your and Lord Duckman's videos....lol
@@CTmoog So Awesome. Thanks CT! Looking so forward to coming back. I have a bunch of projects to finish up here and I will be down for good. I definitely need your expertise on my Porsche 914 GT6 factory race car clone project. We can go over to Lord Duckman's place and race gokarts...lol
I just love these restoration series, i learned how to never miss the oportunity to buy another shitbox before finishing the last. Keep up the good work.
I like the vibe of your channel, CT. You’re living the dream. I don’t care which car you work on or if any get finished. It’s relaxing and entertaining just watching you do your thing. Thanks for sharing 👍
A '58 v8 4x4 in that classic 50's turquoise. This was a hell of a truck when new and i hope you guys can get her back to her original glory. You never see these old 50's dodges fixed up anymore
I have been a long time subscriber to all your videos. You have four or five projects on the way and none of them will be completed. Let's go back to Rusty.
Nice and Solid, can see that its from the Route 66 area, i.e. Pacific SW. The cars and trucks from there have beautiful Sunrust, i.e. NO rot. Keep it up! 2:40 Love the grinding, I think its the sparks
Nice! Owned a 1948 Power Wagon panel truck. No syncromesh, no power steering, the air boost for the brakes had died long ago so driving it was a free workout every time. On one road trip a buddy tried to drive it and quit before we'd gone twenty miles.
I'm looking forward to the complete rebuilding of the 315 Poly head engine. Not an engine swap. When you remove the pitman arm from the steering box mark it's position with a center punch or chisel.
I’m not even gonna read the comments cuz I know there is gonna be a lot of negative Nancy’s. Everyone wants to be a critic but who is putting in work on their own projects and making videos about it…? I see your channel as free entertainment so why should I complain? If I don’t like it I wouldn’t watch it. 😁 keep doing what ever you want CT and people are still gonna watch so who cares. I would enjoy seeing at least one project get completed but again it’s free (kinda, I just got premium) entertainment and I enjoy watching your shenanigans.
You probably should spray all of the bolts/nuts down with Kroil, or even WD40 before you tackle them. For the steering wheel, I would try drilling out the holes for the next size and re-tap. Try using a fine thread tap first, as they require a slightly larger hole, and you might cut threads enough to pull the wheel. When I first started wrenching in 1959-60 I didn't know crap, but was willing to learn, and my Dad was a fountain of information, from when he was a farm boy about my age. My first procedure was to keep pulling out bolts 'till the part I wanted fell off! I remembered this when you were working on the bed!
SUPER RARE!!!! SWEEEEET! I MISS THEM OLD DAYS LIKE BACK IN 1978, FULL FRAME UP ON MY 53 GMC 5 WINDOW. IM TOO OLD NOW, ARTHRITIS, BAD BACK, KNEE, LIFES BADGES OF HONOR I GUESS FOR BEING A GEARHEAD. AT LEAST I FINISHED MY 31 KOOP IN 2018 BEFORE I GOT TOO RIKKITY. MAN ITS BITTERSWEET NOT BEING PHYSICALLY ABLE TO PULL OLD STEEL OUT AND WORK ON IT ANYMORE. .... HAVE FUN , I WILL BE WATCHING... Yes it would be nice seeing more on the projects you already started but this one is your brother's and he is cool with storing all these vehicals there so as long as you keep the content coming I'm happy😊 eventually you'll run out of room and you'll have to finish or sell them🤣🤣
Yup. I was thinking the same thing. He kinda has to give the truck priority cuz it’s his brothers shop space. He probably saw CT doing all these projects and was like hey man fox my truck. But actually this could turn into a business for CT because his bro is his first customer in a way. A year ago no one would ask CT to restore their Classic not even a brother so it shows something that CT is getting request. That’s how a lot of small businesses start out.
This generation of the Dodge Power Wagon was manufactured until 1966, especially with the panel trucks. I can wait to see how you do with yours, or your brother's for that matter.
This was same year Dodge truck used in 1964 movie Roustabout that brought back Elvis's 1964 Honda 305 Superhawk motorcycle after it was fixed. Now the truck is worth saving.........
Excellent video CT :) that truck Steering wheel take have drill screw in those small hole with Carpbite drill also use big thingers outter part and bolt in middle squish out if didn't work you have get newer type GM , Ford, Dodge Steering wheel plus shaft and box near engine be task but I know want do it ! Also Engine, transmission will be need rebuild and clutch to do agree that plus wire harness to rewrire to also ! Looking forward more videos too soon CT :) great disassemble tear down!
Give it up CT since you never seem to finish anything… why even bother ! Was looking forward to more episodes towards a finished V W, but alas another unfinished rusty bungle. A couple of weeks back it was the Porsche.
CT, I found your Channel cause of the Beetle, I own two later Beetles, too, I'm a complete VW-maniac. But I got stuck here, no matter what piece of rust is in process. 🙂 The way you act, this easygoing way, always laughing when things happen, it's different to so many YT-channels here with guys in loud and hectic.. Keep going on, and all the best from Germany, nearby Wolfsburg.....
I enjoy your videos a lot. I seldom add any comments but I should oughta as I'm 79 and have been around for a bit. Couple of things here. Most 6 volt system were positive ground. I have been seeing several videos recently where the guy doing the work obviously did not know that. Also, get some 6 point sockets. don't have to be impact sockets unless you are using impact wrenches. In this video there were several instances where the nuts or bolt heads were rounded off by using `12 point sockets or wrenches. 12 points are fine for non-rusted fasteners but they will cause extra time and effort on rusty ones. That's all minor, keep up doing what you're doing.
Drill the next size larger hole into the steering wheel flange and tap them to that size, then use that size bolts to help remove the wheel. You might have to fabricate a few other pieces such as the steel plate that the two new bolts go thru. there is likely a large bolt the goes toward the center of the steering column to back the wheel off of the steering column shaft.
i used to have this exact truck. 1958 W200 with a 318 poly swapped in. man i miss that truck. a friend of mine has a '58 D100 and i've taken 3 or 4 of these trucks apart. so if you need information or parts just ask. we might have it.
What all engines did they come with then? I thought they were all 318 Poly if V-8 Mine is 1958 with what I think is the 318 Need front drivers fender big time though
As a professional mechanic that's restored cars and built them, I always try to encourage others to work smarter, not harder. You make everything as difficult as you can dream up. I owned my shop that I built Door slammers in. The last one I'd EVER trust to tear anything down is you. This truck is a candidate for scrap but if you work half as hard making shit as you do causing yourself problems, you can save the whole truck. Try taking a step back and looking at possible solutions, instead of mangling shit, will save you more time in the end. All of the piece you've destroyed were templates for new shit. Be more methodic in how you take shit apart. Getting in a rush, with parts this old, and finding replacements for the scrap you make, is gonna bite you really hard. You wanted comments so there ya go. I want to see vehicles this old returned to service. I like this kind of content. It being a Dodge, a new hemi would be a killer candidate for it. Everything to make the drive-line work is in the salvage yards. You could even drop a 12 valve in. But stop destroying shit. Your inexperience is a glaring sore thumb.
I have a 58 power wagon power giant, the frames are post war quality ,so i put mine on a 68 w 300 frame. the power giant were the fist 4 + 4 civilian made trucks. only made for 4 years, around 5000 made in total, your V8 is the first 318 big block or also known as the mini HEMI. It will be a head turner when you are done.

Hey. There is always my channel if you are looking for something that gets completed. But when you are a one man army it takes a lot longer than expected.
Well, Mr. CT, here we are back again.. Damn, it looks built like a tank... I bet the thickness is at least 1mm if not even 1,5.. Did I guess wrong? Seems pretty straight forward, just a lot crunchy.. 🙃What else to expect on a 60+ years old machine for farm use?! Hehe, da, rusty crusty.. About the steering wheel: it should be mounted on a spline gear inset, so in your case, when the bolts threads are ripped or rusted, I would try to apply tension with some straps on the wheel hub outside upwards, as much as you can without ruining it, then with a compressor jackhammer and with a point, the same diameter as the internal hole, as flat as possible, vibrate it downwards. Obviously soak the crap out of it first with penetrator.. Heat is out of the game, unless you want to destroy all plastic parts. Given the situation, I strongly suggest you don't try to run or turn the engine, untill you crack the head and see what's inside. Missing spark plugs are a recipe for water and other stuff getting in, so ... emm...it's more than likely corroded to some degree. Cheers, keep on. 😉
Ct if you don't start to finish a project soon I will unsubscribe because there is no point watching something to never see it finished I'm sorry for sounding negative because I really enjoy your video's .
