    I just had an AHA moment watching this. When Sifu Adam was talking about stretching and that you don't move the whole body as one cause you need to have one part of the body "anchored" so the other part can stretch, I realized that was one of the reasons why in Taijiquan we have for example one hand going forward while the other hand goes back, why there is always a Yin and Yang movement in each posture. It is for the stretch of the Fascia like the pulling of the bow before the release which I guess occurs in the transition between the postures.

    What is “white tissue”? Connective tissue? Muscle sheaths? Tendons? Ligaments? There are only so many structures and materials in the body.

    Другими словами, если мы растягиваемся в одном месте, то опираемся в другом.

    I've always been wondering if you can apply the same weight lifting? Like can you easily lift weights with the same understanding?

    • @seanhand396
      @seanhand396 4 роки тому +1

      You can try, but there is no benifit. Weight lifting is to train the muscle, not the white tissue.

      @@seanhand396 Haha, yeah I'm aware of that, I meant more like an experiment. The teacher of the "mindful wing chun" guy says you can and you can train on any level, even with weights, eventually, you can do it within anything. But he mainly explains it to come from the relaxation of the spine and expansion of it it, nim tao they call it

      +Discover Taiji I'm not sure I will be able to. We may send some others from our school, though. Still working it out. I really wish I could, though. I'll start saving for next year.

    what part of the body is the string?

    • @foshoucitron4595
      @foshoucitron4595 6 років тому +4

      The connective tissue of the body/ the "wet suit" ("fascia")/ from which you get the elasticity throughout the body. When you drop your body mass through the wet suit to the ground, you stretch it open which open spaces in your body, (for that the muscles must be turned off), you get a trampoline effect back through as a string...Hope this helps

    • @stigblue

      Do you have any video example of this ? or what do you mean?

      Look up stretching for martial arts video from damo mitchell and watch it throughout, otherwise you will not get it.

      @@foshoucitron4595 you did us a good Solid for that info. I do not know how someone as young as Damo has that much knowledge but it sure helps explain it. Thanks.

    Do you need to sink your Chi for this level of skill? Not wanting to annoy you or sound redundant at all but have seen discussions in forums regarding this topic. I wonder if what you are doing here also requires this

    • @DiscoverTaiji
      @DiscoverTaiji  6 років тому +2

      sinking the qi is a buzzword at the moment....

    • @thetaijicentre
      @thetaijicentre 5 років тому

      i believe if you know and can then you do - always .... but we have to ensure we understand each other’s knowledge. And sometimes such “buzzwords” obscure the correct meaning... when an equal or better understanding can be gained an using alternative description. A different angle is that when a new skill is being learned, there are a lot of components to bring together to achieve the aim, but then with much practise, all of those individual “requirements”will be incorporated without necessarily having specific consciousness of them. But they are always “there”.
