Ibrahim Assa Yea i know man and that's beyond impressive really, because...i mean he's obviously in great shape, but he hasn't been training specifically for weightlifting, has he.. he does little bit of everything to stay in somewhat decent shape but pause snatching 200kgs, like in between seminars.. is just mindblowing, i actually believe that he is still good enough for olympic gold next year.
I'm glad that our international friends from Mother Russia as well as Asia are willing to share their knowledge with us North American mortals. I remember when I first started WL as master-aged I read most books I could get my hands on, mostly written by American coaches. They would use buzz words like triple extension, catapult, jump and shrug, double knee bend, sweep bar, s curve. Then I realized top level lifters from the East didn't even do any of these American cues. Their cues were much, much simpler. Thank you Klokov, Ilya, etc. for helping us in the US.
Can you please tell me the method that the Russians and Chinese use for clean? Can you refer me to some videos? I thought the Russians and Chinese used double knee bend.
honestly even by my coach here in the USA ive never been taught double knee bend. as you progress in the lift its more of a natural movement that happens when you set up a strong power position.
@@mingdianli7802 Its because China and Russian as in the governments sponsor the acquisition and training of their WLs. They search for them pay for everything give them gear. NA is doing that but on other sports and when they get caught trying to cover it up. Shit has been going on since the 50s.
I saw that too man. I think there are just different methods to weightlifting that different cultures use. I've seen videos on how the chinese use significantly different form for certain lifts and such.
Daniel Kevin Debideen For some reason North American coaches promote strong hip contact and double knee bend. Which is why you see a lot of hip cleans and other strange phenomenon(especially between the knee and hip) when watching calstrength, abg and so on.
in a normal width high pull you're 100% correct (so think deadlift width or cleans), but snatch grip does take a lot of the risk out of it. Just warm up your rotator cuff a little and then forget about it you've got to be doing something pretty wrong to hurt yourself doing snatch pulls or panda pulls.

I was waiting for him to pick up the 230kg lying in front and show us how it's really done. But no 40kg was all we got :)
+Patrick Savalle
dude :) 230kg is too much for a snatch, C&J - sure
I know ;) But he can do a 200kg, no?
I think he still got it ye :) there is a video of him ( training footage ) from 2012 where he snatches 205kgs and he makes it look so easy!
+Heisenberg he just recently pause snatched 200kg in Almaty

@@maxpowers4436 I don't understand the point you're trying to make
The translator doesn't have a Russian accent. Sounds like an Irish accent.

i think this is for hip contact rather then trap training. klokov does highpulls to the throat usually
Daniel Kevin Debideen don't listen to any american coach when it comes to weightlifting.

Shamus MacDonald This is due to the Chinese having different limb dimensions in their top weightlifters.
Cool info!
The worst interpreter that I've ever seen in my life. She is unprofessional.
The interpreter is to be heard not seen

No risk at all, educate yourself
