    Am i the only one wondering wtf is up with Klokov legs? it might just be a weird camera angle but it looks as if he has a serious varus deformity of his knee...

      +Conor Blee He has an injury in the past for which he got surgery. Could be the result of all that.

    Holy shit i get that also when squatting my left foot always a bit more forward than my right and i always try to fix it but when i do i feel so weird that i cant squat with good form.But if we do what Klokov says and continue to progress with that anomaly isn't going to become worse and worse the heavier we go and one day BOOM injury?Any thoughts?

    • @timoe1149
      @timoe1149 9 років тому +1

      He never said that it wouldnt affect him in the long run. But when you are a leading olympic athlete you know your body well enough, and understand the mechanics behind the lift so well that you can adjust to accommodate inbalances. Most people have one leg that's longer than the other and he clearly knows it. For you i'd say just get used to good form, and try stretching the ankle area to be able to squat properly.

    In relation to the rubber knee wraps elite weightlifters continue to use it. Any idea about the difference in klokov's opinion?

    • @48thurkdisl98

      His explanation sounded pretty unscientific. Like minerals leaving your joints through your sweat. Wtf?

    • @Kocis19
      @Kocis19 10 років тому

      I think he likes to just keep the joints really warm which is why he uses ACE bandages not sleeves, sleeves are to protect his shins i think as you have seen in many videos of he never wears them actually on his knee but only shins

    • @JordanGuitar11
      @JordanGuitar11 10 років тому

      use knee sleeves - his explanation was not true at all... minerals leaving your joints in sweat is a load of it. Knee sleeves are excellent for protection.

    • @samnetmon
      @samnetmon 9 років тому +6

      48thurkdisl98 Looked through wikipedia, the #Perspiration article says that the sweat has minerals and it can be true, that if a part of the body perspirates a lot, then it looses the minerals.

    Back strength isn't always why u can't snatch a lot. I can do rows easily w/250 lbs say 15+. Why am I using only 65 lbs on snatches? My technique needs practice in translating that slow strength to snatch subtleties. I also have found snatch squats as low as possible helpful. Its not all about raw strength, much is technique, and I can rep 400 easy on deadlifts.

    • @10coolfacts
      @10coolfacts 10 років тому

      He is talking about pulling your shoulder blades together. IMO Rows do not translate directly to keeping shoulders back and posture upright during a snatch because they are Lat centric. Traps, erectors, and rhomboids are much more important for the Snatch.

    • @daniel213141
      @daniel213141 9 років тому

      He mentioned if you straighten your legs without moving the bar 02:05 it may indicate weak legs as well.

    • @Tbergan67
      @Tbergan67 9 років тому

      5zazen Rows are mid-upper back. He means lower back strength. Can you do weighted back extensions with, say, 50k for 5x10, with a pause at the top? Weightlifting is almost entirely about low back when talking about back strength.

    • @5zazen
      @5zazen 9 років тому

      Trevor Bergan Likely yes, dont know for sure. Let me know if your lower back must not be strong when I am repping 300 on rows for sets of 4. No lower back strength required dude.

    • @Tbergan67
      @Tbergan67 9 років тому

      5zazen The Olympic lifts are a majority lower back, which doesn't get stronger by doing rows. You could row a thousand pounds but it won't help on the lifts because your lower back will be weak. Technique work would obviously help you do more, but rowing a lot and deadlifting a lot does not matter as much as people think. If you were to just strengthen your lower back and do good squats with a full range of motion, you'll do a thousand times better than rowing and deadlifting.
