The reason why Jesus exhorts believers to repent and watch is critical to understand (Rev. 3:3) Repentance is sorely needed as we speak because the worst compromise ever is sweeping through the body of Christ (2 Tim. 4:3-4) Living holy brings discernment. This explains why there is such a lack of spiritual discernment among Christian leaders who are deceiving millions of believers on the timing and consequences of Christ's coming.
Just curious Paul Bortolazzo. Why did you watch the video? Just because you don't understand, choosing instead to memorize chapter and verses, words when it seemed the meaning goes right over your head. I mean, I'm sorry but it's like my daddy told me if you don't have something good to say about someone just be quiet. :-(
The most deceptive counsel any Christian can give on the last days is, "let's just follow Jesus and be ready!" This type of misguided reasoning totally dismisses Jesus' warning to watch for the events that show his coming is near (Mat. 24:33) so one won't be deceived (V4-5). The truth is during the great tribulation the church will experience the worst apostasy in her history (Mat. 24:9-26).
