How does this only have 1,900 views? I had the extreme pleasure of promoting some concerts with Randy in the 80’s and he was such a humble minstrel of Christ. He didn’t turn away any of his fans even when they ran roughshod over his personal boundaries. I reconnected with his debut Welcome to Paradise when I was coming out of a dark period in my life around Christmas ‘91 and I found great healing in that. Thanks Randy. Real good news!

Greetings and blessings from the Northwest! Thanks for sharing your interview with 'uncle' Randy. I've been a long time listener of Randy and his music. One of his concerts he performed at that I attended, he graciously autographed my motorcycle helmet writing, "keep me running". Leslie and him are so amazing going to small churches around the country performing, telling his stories, and sharing the Good News.
I agree that todays Christian music industry is a bit watered down. Yet, there are artists out there with great intentions who don't get proper play time or artists from the past, like Randy who don't get proper attention because music executives think they're passe. (Although, I am grateful for a station that plays on the internet the 70s, 80s, 90s etc music)
This is the first time I've heard of "Effect" radio. (I guess I've been 'hiding under a rock' with the new music) I'll have to check ya'll out! Thanks again AJ for a great interview. "Keep pressing on..." 🤗☝️🙋‍♂️❤️🏍💨

In a world where once Christian musicians (Kevin Max, Derek Webb, Jennifer Knapp, and many others) are now deconstructionists and leading masses away from the Truth and embracing lies/agendas, I'm wanting and praying for a conviction driven Christian music revival to take place more than ever before. We have just a few voices like John Cooper and Alisa Childers (grab her book Another Gospel) who are boldly and in a very lonely sense taking on a huge part of the church who have sold their souls to be accepted by the world.
We need a new generation of Randy Stonehills and Keith Greens to help lead the charge for the church to take a strong stand of no compromise and redeem what time we have left. I'm grabbing my guitar and praying that God will use me in that purpose if that is His will.

No such thing as ‘Christian’ music. Just because someone is a Christian doesn’t mean the songs they write are christians.

Except that there are many Christian rock artists with many thousands of Christian rock songs.

In the words of the great philosopher Kerry Livgren: "Just because I'm a Christian carpenter doesn't mean I only have to build churches"
