UA-cam Premium is great value for money if you divide the family plan price with family. £19.99 / 6 = £3.33p
Think about it. Company pays youtube to show u their ads and you pay youtube to not show their ads. The reason why u find this valuable coz they created the problem itself and solve it. Even adblockers is starting to not work and they deleted youtube vanced which is the FREE UA-cam premium... (Still got apk tho)
That being said i do use premium yt. but got full awareness of all of this. Find it not worth it at all
The only statistic I could find was that this week I have been having an average of 1h25min daily watch, which is a 77% increase from last week

I think it's better than the competition because you get ad free videos and the same amount of music as all the other streaming services.
I disagree, if you watch a lot of UA-cam it's worth it in addition to getting a music service too.

This. I refuse to log on to my personal Google account on my work laptop but when I wanna look up a how to on a software or something the ads are so terrible.

Same. I've had Premium for about 2 years now and if I had the regular version of UA-cam I wouldn't go on even half as much as I do. I just don't have the patience for it.
YT premium is one of the few services that doesn’t care about who is in the family plan.
Its the whole reason why I left spotify.
For an account that allows up to 6 people, the plan is surprisingly cheap.
Instead of ads we get Sponsors..

Signed up the family in early 2018, I've clocked nearly 9000 ad-free hours on UA-cam and 1700 on YT Music, 230 hours background and almost 15000 videos offline
Every time I visit someone's house that doesn't have Premium, I'm reminded how obnoxious ads on YT are. Combine it with Ublock and I haven't really seen ads in years.
Also I switched to YT Music from Spotify. It's not as good of a service yet but I'm happy to save money. To top it off, a lot of creators say that Premium is way more supportive for them than ads are. If that matters to you, and you watch a lot of YT, it's kind of a no-brainer.

EASY YES to be honest, even if they increased prices recently. If you don't watch a lot of movies, UA-cam itself has a lot of news, documentaries and videos from various creators - including podcasts. UA-cam Music still needs a bit of work but it works if you only have a particular set of music to listen to.
I'd still prefer just having UA-cam Premium than having multiple streaming service subscriptions just to watch certain content like Marvel or DC or HBO or something, those subs add up once a month.
I joined Red too. UA-cam is basically what I use for TV. I did not realize how many commercials are played on videos in the middle of videos before and after videos. There's no way I could switch back. I'll cancel Netflix and Hulu and everything before canceling this

I cancelled my UA-cam premium at the end of my subscription this year for one day and regretted it immediately. After about 30min, I resubbed for a year. I haven't heard an ad for almost a decade and after hearing one, I was out.
Once there is enough people using UA-cam Premium, the ads will start to appear. That is the end goal for Google. It happens with every premium service: Start out free with a subscription tier option, slowly make the free tier worse so the subscription tier looks more enticing, when the subscription tier becomes popular, divide that into more tiers with the most expensive option being the only one with no adverts. If 100% of the user base switches to the most expensive tier, tell them you have no choice due to "costs" and include ads in that.
Ads are a HUGE income for Google, they'll never stop selling ad space.
I'm just about heading for this situation right about now....... I think I'd be fine with the ad but sure not the drop in video quality

I just started and let me tell you UA-cam with no ads is great. I don’t much care for UA-cam Music. It would be nice if you could get all the features of UA-cam premium without UA-cam Music at a lower price. Maybe $8.99 a month?

I have YT premium and I love the UA-cam music and no ads piece. To me my time is more valuable I listen to a lot of music and watch a lot of videos on UA-cam, so for me it is a no brainer, great video!!
I mean the ads are so obnoxious I feel like UA-cam premium is mandatory...
I noticed I get a TON more ads on my Smart TV, and less on my phone or laptop. So, I think it's definitely worth it.
I can never go back to normal youtube. I see people using normal youtube and i immediately feel glad i switched to premium. It's worth it. it's totally worth it. The amount of time it saves and annoyance it removes is alone worth the fee of admission.

Definitely worth it. I follow a lot of content creators and documentaries.. having ads popping up is very distracting, particularly when I just want to relax.
The one thing I don't like about UA-cam music is that when you use UA-cam music search function, the search information history also shows up on your regular UA-cam app/ Web page. There isn't really a way to tell UA-cam to only show non UA-cam music results if you're a heavy UA-cam music user. Also using UA-cam music app also integrates it s UA-cam music recommendations within the algorithm of the regular UA-cam app algorithm recommendations like if you were watching a bunch of music videos like Christmas music. Then when you open up the regular UA-cam app, the app thinks you would want to listen to more music videos instead of related videos from the last time you opened up the regular UA-cam app like videos on Google technology or something. They should be two completely separate situations. The only way I can think of is to have two different Google accounts, but then that would be a little bit harsh. I don't like being reminded of music that I might have watched on the regular UA-cam app within the UA-cam music app. And I think Google Play Music was a good thing that they should have kept it as it was completely separate from UA-cam, not integrated tightly. The only major difference between UA-cam and UA-cam music is its interface at both of them can access the same music videos, it's just that UA-cam music is more focused on the app for music videos and playlists. I only have my UA-cam music because it was required after the discontinuation of Google Play music.

I’m a premium subscriber for a year now and I can’t stand free version of YT ever again under any circumstances
have the family subscription, use it daily especially moreso now that I have a kid, no ads is a must have. no interruptions on my tv or my child's tablet.
I went back to regular yt and it wrecks your algorithm. They say theres no difference but its night and day

UA-cam music needs the ability to block artists that you don't EVER want to hear. And I mean Completely block them. There are certain artists that make me want to violently remove my ears whenever they play.
My two favorite features are no ads and the music included
I have been on YT premium for 5 years now and no regrets. It also includes YT Music which makes it a great deal although I prefer and use Spotify over YT Music. If you love to watch YT, the Premium is a must especially if you have multiple devices (phones, TV, tablet, PS5's, etc.).
I hate ads so I hate to admit that it's worth it, although I agree with others that it's very pricey if you're not sharing with family.
Also if UA-cam Music wasn't bundled in for free, I would probably use Spotify.

I just feel that UA-cam should introduce profiles and once I select a profile on a device, it should default to that profile on that device unless I want to switch to another profile. So it will be a seamless experience as it is now.
This would be really helpful since I don't watch the same content on a TV, Mobile and Laptop. So I can watch different content on each device with a single account.

I've been using premium for over a year & it's 100% worth it especially as it includes UA-cam music which may not be great for everyone but in the long run saves me paying for another music streaming service on top
The best feature of UA-cam premium is the ability to play videos in the background. Often times I will listen to UA-cam videos while my phone is in my pocket.
I used to have youtube premium on and off due to lack of funds, but since i been working more, i have had it for 5 months up until now.

How do you find your own stats?
@Emperor-Inker click on "You" on the bottom right on the app, then scroll and tap "Your Premium Benefits". It will show you the benefits you have gained since the last time you renewed/activated youtube premium.
Adguard takes care of the ads on my computer. Only watch YT on my phone a few times a week, so no Premium needed.
And besides that, the price is too high.

Not until u exposed ur UA-cam hours did i think and say 2 myself, "A MAJORITY of my screen time is SPENT on UA-cam." I am a UA-cam Premium member.
Nowadays it's false advertisement it promises an ad free experience but meanwhile sponsors are trying to get around that by having youtubers incorporate their ads in the video.

I'm using youtube premium for almost two years. UA-cam is my primary source of entertainment. I'm using family plan. I also use youtube music a lot and I must say collection is very vast. My only company is regretting the recent price hike.

Ive been a YT premium user less than a year now and love it. Ill never go back to free again. My stats is small... Only 420 hours so far watching videos. 0 background play, 0 youtube music and 0 watched offline. 😂
4:25 is the biggest reason I think it’s completely worth it! There’s so many different types of videos that can only be found on UA-cam.

So I was an iPhone user for a long time at the end of 2023 I became an Android user and at one point I had a free 3 months of UA-cam premium and I loved it The problem is trying to justify the cost for a $30 for a family plan I don't really pay for any other streaming services and I do use UA-cam a lot so it probably would be worth it but it's hard to justify both Spotify and UA-cam premium and I'm not sure how you do music is.
In Rwanda, we have ad-free UA-cam experience, except when you're using a vpn. i'm not talking about the UA-cam premium

I'm relatively happy with the service, although I think they should have a bundled products discount. I originally signed up for it for the ad free and also, if anyone remembers"UA-cam Originals", for content which wasn't available anywhere else. I'm Canadian so we don't get UA-cam TV or anything like that because of our legislation here. But bundling my UA-cam with my Google one and Google nest accounts would definitely both help financially and reward my loyalty.
Let go of UA-cam premium a couple of months ago. I watch a ton of UA-cam, but I can't justice the constant price changes.

I love premium but for me it's too expensive as I have a million other subscriptions that I pay for already. Like you said they should offer a fat cheaper option just for UA-cam without ads and no bells and whistles.
UA-cam Premium is essential for me. Ad-free videos and background play are useful every single day. UA-cam music is also brilliant. Very happy with it myself.

And in India it's very much affordable 1.99 USD for a month (as I'm a student i applied for student discount with the University Registration I've got UA-cam premium for 0.99 USD)

Because i use youtube to stream all the podcasts, audiobooks, audiostories, med School concept lectures and music all ad free. Already have the same account on my other devices ie iPad, android TV 😅

Honestly I do find it overpriced but as a heavy UA-cam user, I couldn’t STAND ads and having to keep my phone open. Ended up ditching Apple Music for UA-cam music just because of how much I use UA-cam. I do hate UA-cam musics layout. I think they need to make it a bit cleaner and easier to find your music

I have premium, and it's overpriced. 13 quid a month just to get rid of ads (except the ones Google decides aren't ads, like movies and TV or channel merch or fricking playables) is a bit sickening every time I see it pop up in my transactions.
And, as a long term premium user, background play should be available to all. Let the people turn off their screens!

It was a great way to use UA-cam, but with all of the other subscriptions, fees, expenses each year, it was easy to cancel Premium. Initially, i was worried about ruining my experience with the app, but instead I just use the platform less...which is certainly a positive!
yup, subscribed to family plan and i love the ad free playback and music premium the most though the music app needs work on stability and robust playback, like when net disconnects the music app forgets that im a premium subscriber and stops background play or the controls on the screen go dysfunctional/greyed out.

My country doesn't have ads, for offiline, well I have 24/7 mobile data, I use Spotify so no need YT music.
I do miss not having background play tho. You can still download video for offline but it's only 720p (at least in my country)

3560hrs since Feb 2021 (I moved there from Google Music - but I moved to Premium Family in 2021)... I couldn't live without UA-cam Premium - it gets more use than Netflix by a long way! Interested that you had free movie content - I'm only seeing stuff I can rent/purchase (or have purchased in the past) - is that a US thing? (I'm in the UK)
UA-cam makes my days bearable and the amount of things I've learned on UA-cam is incalculable... So for me, i think premium has a chokehold on me
2025 is a few houirs old, and were already asking if something is worth it, after asking if it was worth it in 2024. Of course it's worth it. lol
