So we can conclude that Mohammad Ali in his best days would have beaten young Mike Tyson in his good shape. It's obvious. James Tillis used Ali's style and tactics. And the fight was close to draw. But Tillis was much weaker than Ali. Still the greatest boxer ever is Mohammad Ali!

@@Dogasus that is just insulting to Ali. Im a Tyson fan but I'll give it 50/50 at best for Tyson, Ali was really something, aside from his irritating religious proclivities and his seemingly paramount need to talk about it, he will always be one of the greatest, if not the undisputed greatest. Tyson is great , too. That is why it is 50/50

Mike Tyson is my favorite boxer of all time. However, THIS fight revealed why Ali would have most likely bested him if they fought in their prime. Ali would have been faster, stronger, and more elusive. I imagine there would have been 3 fights. With Ali winning two. One of them, Tyson would probably have knocked Ali out with one of those blind hooks and inside uppercuts that put pajamas on taller fighters.

It’s was only Mikes 19th fight and he was still learning but I’ve always said he was overrated. Tillis was a good fighter with good skills but he had already 8 losses before this fight, he was stopped by Pinklon Thomas, Greg Page and Tim Witherspoon. Mike Weaver, Carl Williams, Marvis Frazier, Gerrie Coetzee and Tyrell Biggs all beat him on points. There are a lot of people who still think that he won against Tyson, he certainly gave Tyson a good fight. That’s why I believe Lewis and Holyfield both beat a prime Tyson.

Mike was a beast that beat up much bigger men.

    • @lfcgero35
      @lfcgero35 2 роки тому +4

@@DimitriTheBarbarian so ali's fights with foreman and two with frazier and three with norton were fixed or Frazier and foreman was fixed too. Might aswell say ali v liston was fixed aswell.
What a ridiculous comment obviously never watched any of those fights or any fights back in the day at any weight never mind heavyweight.
I said Tyson was a savage but you got butt hurt and started mentioning commies and radicals turning ali into a social justice warrior lol.
In case you didnt realise ali fought against social injustice all his life. Just to add ask tyson what he thinks of ali. He also would totally disagree on your view that all those masive fights were fixed considering his view on what Mayweather said recently. You havent a clue on boxing history pal tyson fought for ali on many occasions and sought revenge at least once for ali too.
As for your stats ali fought 56 fights tyson 58 fights. Rounds fought 541 for ali v 211 for tyson. Ali was never knock out cold and got up from every knock down had a better chin as proven by being hit by liston frazier foreman and norton. Buster douglas knocked out tyson but i will agree tyson was never properly prepared for that fight but its up to the boxer to make sure that he is right.
Muhammad Ali lost five fights, four were decisions and only one was a TKO at the extreme tail end of his career. Tyson lost 6 fights buster douglas , two to holyfield lennox lewis , Williams and mcbride. Some of these were knock outs and midway through the fight too. Ali fought 15 round fights tyson never got anywhere near 12 in majority of his fights.
Now you might think tyson would knock out ali early as he did with so many of his opponents but as i said the biggest hitters of all time couldnt finish the great man and that would be multiple big hits not just one but over 15 rounds too.
I rate tyson in my top 5 but no1 not a chance and tyson would agree with me too.
The difference here is ali lost all his fights either in the latter rounds or by decision were tyson was either tko or ko

It was actually 10 rounds but yes it was Tyson's first major test. This is the fight I show people when they tell me that they think Tyson could take a prime Ali. Tillis was like a watered down knockoff drug store brand version of Ali and he gave Tyson a lot of problems, winning four of the ten rounds and was the first opponent to go the distance with him.

Tyson susceptible to the upper cut and Tillis has a peach of a upper cut.
Ali didn't have a great upper cut but big George did!
This wasn't prime Tyson but this fight was a good indicator of where Tyson's weakness was!
To sum up, Ali's movement and cleverness would give him a points win and big George would have knocked him out.
With Joe Frazier I cannot tell, but it wouldn't be for the faint hearted!
Buster Douglas and Holyfield showed the way , not forgetting Lewis.

@ 12:38 Tillis pushed Mike like 5-8 feet which was amazing because to throw a punch like Mike does you have to push your feets like 2 feet in the ground to generate this kind of power, and to push that grounded power in continuation of out circle takes a blood out of your arse.
Tillis had a strategic footwork..Tyson didn't catch up.
    Tillis's coach was awesome.
His footwork is unpredectiable, if he wd had the upper body movement training like Ali, then he might have had a closure for Ali.
Outcircle is more tiring than anything..for a heavy man with big muscles.
Moreover he took viscous punches and kept mooving like a pingpong ball..gripping his legs unpredictabally.
