Y’all are now uptown and high rent! The UA-cam gods have been good and you deserve it! If you ever miss the ozarks pm us, we have a few acres on a river y’all can boondock on! You’ll love the RV life
Glad to see you decided to keep the black tank. That gives an option if conditions are not favorable for all the other options. It is not hard to take care of. Just dump it when you dump the grey tank when you leave or find a dump station at a truck stop or RV dealer. Be sure to back flush and rinse so that you do not get obnoxious odors and use a really good tank treatment product. It will be very handy at times. Thanks for keeping us up dated! I miss all of your regular adventures and will be glad to see you back out there having fun!
Consider getting some type of parameter security video survelliance system installed, so when you hear that bump in the night, while you are sleeping, you will be able to respond accordingly. I would also install stronger locking mechanisms on your important external systems, i.e., water, power, electronics, locking gas cap, etc. I don't trust people with malicious intentions. As our financial and other systems collapse, just remember that desperate people do desperate things. I would hate to see members of my wonderful "UA-cam" family get violated. You both are awesome!
Hi guys, you might want to consider mud dauber screens on your furnace exhaust. We live in Washington state and yellow jackets nested in the heat exchanger. It was a mess to clean them out. When I worked for an RV shop one of the techs said bugs and attracted to the propane smell. I don't know if that is true but the screens are easy to install and save a lot of head aches. What a nice rig, happy for you and enjoy.
The oven is a good place to store pans while traveling. Also a small tension rod where the microwave used to be would work great for storing baskets and you wouldn't have to install a door there. Plastic baskets are awesome for campers, to keep things from moving around while traveling. I'm sure you'll find your own style and what works best for you! Awesome camper and You're sure to make many memories while on the road in it! We always enjoy your videos and are happy to see you get this new addition to your lifestyle!!
I can see in the future you guys will be taking us on an adventure With you being out to sea on your sailboat. Whatever the background what I see as the most important reason I watch your channel is because you are a wonderful couple that gives light to a darkening world.
Your Cape Cod Chips are upside down....😂 LOL...I was checking out what food you had. Love your new RV. It's awesome!! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Awww, one of the best parts of having the RV is being able to pull over and use your own bathroom on travel days. No more public toilets. It also keeps you from being able to use boondockers welcome and harvest host. You do you though. It looks awesome and congratulations !!!!!
So glad I didn’t have to wait until Thursday to see it!! Super nice and just think how much less time you’ll use for set up and take down! Tickled pink for ya’ll!!! Anxious to see your first overnight..
I am amazed at the amount of technology in this camper. I can’t wait to see the awnings out and y’all relaxing/cooking/working out at camp. Safe travels y’all.
I've been following y'alls channel for about a year. I'm soo excited and happy for y'all. I can't wait to see the video of your trial night. I'm glad you won't be freezing in unavoidable ice an wind storms. Y'all have been through alot that many people would've given up the lifestyle over just since I've been watching your channel and have taken 95% of it with grace and overcame every obstacle put in your way. Y'all definitely 100% deserve that nice truck and beautiful camper. Best wishes
We lived in a truck camper for over a year. It was even smaller than yours. You might want to check out our truck camper play list. We have a few ways to give even more storage. Congratulations on your new camper! We love your channel!
Taking out the toilet is genius level camping move. Nothing to dump, no foul odours..or chemicals. Small Jerry can (plastic gas can) for "number one" (get a she wee or similar for the female of the species) and compostable bags (fill with shavings or peat moss) and you have a separating composting toilet for one hundredth of the cost of a commercial composting toilet. Ammo can for number two "deposits" until you can toss or bury.
One more suggestion: Small tension rods (the kind that hold cafe-style curtains in a kitchen window) placed in front of all the refrigerator and freezer items you will eventually have will keep everything from falling out on your feet the first time you open those doors after traveling. My Dometic has grooves in the sidewalls of the frig. and freezer that seem to have been made for this purpose. These rods may also keep pressure off those doors and keep them from swinging open when Cody takes a curve too fast.
Our fridge locks, but still things will shift so I do recommend the pressure rods if you can. Also, in the cabinets where you said it was still messy and you hadn’t got it organized yet, Dollar General, and dollar tree and even Walmart have little containers that you can set things in like your spices. It can really help with organizing and keeping things from falling over while you’re driving. I have all my spices set in these containers above the stove and in my pantry cabinet. Of course our stove has never worked since we got it and the replacement is still on back order so we use induction plates and I cook outside when I can. get an oven thermometer so you can test your oven for accuracy before cooking in it. RV ovens are notorious for being inaccurate, so it will help you adjust if necessary. I’m so happy to see your excitement and can’t wait to see your new adventures!
We are so excited for you guys! That is so cool. So glad you are bear proof. No longer will we loose sleep about you guys being safe. We are so excited!!!!! David and Juanita
@@davidhunt1194 so the day a bear rips through our transit van, I am done. Ain’t happening unless we leave the door open or a window that can be broken. Less worried about them than people breaking in and stealing our stuff.
Soooooo excited for y’all!!! I think there are a lot of changes you will make in terms of storage. I think IKEA has alot of good options and I’ve seen alot of rv videos with tips on storage. But you have time!!! I think this is great for y’all and can’t wait to see it all decorated and cozy for y’all. You deserve it. I almost spit my wine out last week when you gave me the cliffhanger 🤣🤣🤣 but I get it!
Would add a small electric heater. We used instead of the gas furnace. Also have a checkout list for every time you are ready to leave the camp site, ie steps up, door locked, vents and windows closed, antenna down and etc.
There's probably a way you can utilize the black tank to expand your gray tank by equalizing the 2 tanks. Very nice rig BTW....congratulations!!! I'm very happy for you both!
GOOD IDEA X2 On many RV's they add an extra dump slide valve, open BOTH Gray and Black valves, that way the Black and Gray can store Gray water as they're not using their black tank for waste, see my post above. John T
I have a very small kitchen space in our RV as well. I love to cook. I found these spice containers on amazon that work very well for me and they hold a surprising amount of spice. I have them held down for travel with museum tape. This is the ones I have. They are currently unavailable but when you pull them up you’ll see others that are about the same. KaryHome Spice Shaker Jars, Seasoning Shaker Box Condiment Set , Seasoning Storage Containers,Brown. I wish I had a large sink like that. I have a very small round sink. Congrats on your new camper!
Congrats on your new rig/home! I’m sure you’re going to really enjoy it! I’ve been camping a long time, am in my mid 60’s now, and tow an RV. Might I suggest a small electric heater to use when connected to shore power? I know you boondock camp a lot, but when a power pedestal is available, why burn your propane when you’ve paid for hookups in a campground? I’m looking forward to your next videos as you get to know your new home!
@@LadywolfT I only camp and go canoeing and fishing where I can plug in my electric heater or I go camping in warmer weather where I do not need to plug in the heater.
A bacon tip, if you make it in the little oven it doesn’t stink it up as much and also much less mess! Baking sheet lined with parchment for 20 mins and it works like a charm! ❤
Love it and am excited to see what y’all do with it. I have a stupid moment story. I stepped out of my motor home onto one of those plastic stools. I was in flip flops and the step was wet and my foot never took hold went down hard and fast landed on my back head hit the door and got a concussion. I know dumb move. I threw mine away but I just recommend that you put some of that stick on sandpaper material for steps on the top. Just a thought. Lol.
So happy for you kids. I am eager to see how it works for you. I think once you are organized and have a few trips under your belt it will leave you more time for adventures.
How exciting! Congratulations guys… you’re gonna be “uptown high rent” comfy in that camper… can’t wait to see the next video and watch you guys relaxing with the awnings and lights.
Hi Guys, nice camper. FYI the fridge will probably run a couple months on a 30# tank great for boondocking. You can purge any air in the propane line after changing the propane tank by lighting the stove for a minute before turning on the fridge. On my tankless water heater I just turn on the water heater a few minutes before I need it and the water is hot. Drive safe
Love ❤ your truck and camper, think you made a great choice. Can’t believe the storage! You will be making some GREAT memories in it. Can’t wait to see your adventures
Very nice camper! No doubt you’re gonna love it. The switch to lithium is definitely worth it. I’ve been full-time for about four years and made the switch just over a year ago. With two 100ah batteries, a 200w portable panel and a 2000w inverter I could go indefinitely - as long as I didn’t go more than two days without some sun (I had a little 2200 watt generator just in case). Plus lithiums weigh half as much as lead acid.
We have the same brand of camper, and it’s great. The over the sink dish drainer or whatever u wanna call it works amazingly good. I use mine all the time. However the batteries , we haven’t switched yet but we’re def gonna have to because they did drain to fast. And we bought ours new in August of 19 and we love it. We were expecting a bunch of problems from all the horror stories we heard from others about their camper’s. So we expected to have something happen to us as well. But so far we haven’t had any , fingers crossed 🤞 it continues, LOL. So go have some fun out there without having to dread sitting up a tent, and not having to worry about the wildlife sleeping beside ya, 😂 safe travels guys 🙏👍🧡
Pizza stone on the metal plate a must. Another idea to increase Gray water capacity if not using black water tank is to buy a 3" valve for the end of sewer line, if room and open Gray and black valve. It will allow more waste water storage and easier dump with only 1 valve to open.
Place a baking stone in oven to keep food from burning on bottom. I have heard you can also use tile but i have not tried this myself. But the stone worked perfectly!! Perfect biscuits every time!!
Such a great upgrade for you! Might I suggest that you can use Velcro on the bottom of your storage bins in the bath room to hold them in place as you travel. You can find velco strips with adhesive which work great. I believe I used industrial strength that I found at Home Depot. I used this in our little travel trailer and they held perfectly. Saves us from having to move everything to the floor for travel.days. I'm impressed with the amount of storage in your unit! Congratulations! Can't wait to see your adventures in it!
Also, one more thought - I run my entire 19’ rig (except for a/c and microwave) off of a Bluetti EB70S. I plug our 30 amp cable into a 30 amp > 15 amp adapter (dogbone), then plug into the Bluetti and it charges my rig’s batteries and runs all my 110 v plugs. (I have a video about this setup on my channel. I was pretty shocked it worked). Using prime day sale I just upgraded the Bluetti to an Ecoflow delta 2, but setup will remain the same (I just likely can run the a/c and microwave now for short periods as it has a higher watt output).
Don't forget to buy screens for the furnace vent and I think the there's another vent somewhere else you buy a screen for otherwise the Mud Bugs will build a house in there and screw it all up...
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE CAMPER!! GREAT FIND - excellent reveal!! I'm so excited for y'all - so excited!! 💕💕💕 FIND a place for your Dutch oven - come summer you'll want to cook, bake etc outside to keep camper cooler! Store it in inside the oven or the outside storage place Kody created!!💕💕💕
I LOVE! Your new truck camper, I really think you will enjoy it very much and i look forward to joining you in your adventures via your videos. If I may with regards to the toilet paper and paper towels we keep them in zip bags to avoid moisture and bugs. Some how some way ants and other creators find their way in 🤣 as to the furnace they draw a lot of LP and fast! Not sure if your A/C has a heat strip you can use when on shore power or keep your heater buddy just for a while just in case. Also if you have a Costco membership filling an empty 30lb. Tank is a flat rate of $16 way cheaper then anywhere else. And lastly keep an eye on shower door on inside, moisture and steam will damage that wood paneling. Might be good to wipe down after ever shower. Again so excited for you both, enjoy 😊
Congratulations y’all!!! This looks so awesome and will be so much more comfortable and easy for you. It’s like a happy medium between having a home and dispersed tent camping.
Just a suggestion to get a Max fan cover (and bug cover for it), if it will fit with the kayaks on the roof. It is helpful for when it rains. The bug covers for all outside vent are a must. Amazon has them all, and I am sure your Dad can get them too. It is a great truck camper. Please share the link to bed pads you got to put under mattress. We need some. Enjoy figuring out how to make it work for you.
Congratulations you two!!!! Love it 🥰 can’t wait to hear and see all your new adventures, looking forward to it! Love you two beautiful souls... positive vibes and much blessings 🤗
It looks like there is a lot of room in some of the cabinets for shelving which will increase your storage capacity! Very exciting and I LOVE the functionality of this rig! Excited to see more as you start to live in it! So fun and it's nice to have back some creature comforts without foresaking the nature experience! Love it!!
I live in MN, I would suggest one of those small $25 Walmart square space heater so when you are on electric shore power, you can easily heat the camper without using propane. we used it in our 26 ft camper and worked great!
I would recommend you get the max payload off of the yellow sticker, usually found on the driver side door opening. Then determine your available payload as you deduct the truck camper weight, your gear, added weight, etc. After several shakedown trips you will get it dialed in. Truck Campers are great. We put 11k miles in one in 2018. Organization is key.
Listen..I hardly comment, and I know this video is a year old but it’s new to me, I’ve never heard anyone else say “it came with the frame” but my family and I! We’re referencing Hans on the movie the burbs. It just made me giggle.
Since you aren't going to use the black tank you could install a gate valve on your outlet, in the small compartment on the rear drivers side. That way when you open the black and grey gate valves it will combine the tanks. Give you extra grey water capacity for boondocking.
You need to check your manual about using the gas heat when it's below 38deg. We had a smooth side camper and the walls would sweat with gas heat when it was around freezing outside. The sides went wavy and started de-laminating. After we looked it told us not to do it in the manual.
Oh, trust me you will get a trailer in the future. I have a 5x10 cargo trailer. I carry extra water, propane, gas, wood, stove’s, tools, motorcycle, bicycles etc. This will allow you to boondock for an extended amount of time. The good thing about the trailer is it allows you to carry everything you need and not overload your truck. Oh yeah, you can carry your canoe or kayak on top.
You have an amazing amount of things in a small area. Might I suggest some sort of stacking shelves in your pantry cabinets. But you two have everything you need it seems to me. Have fun, and get out there and see things. Best of luck to you. Enjoy!
Suggestion: Get a small pizza stone for the oven. It makes the gas oven cook things more evenly.
Great tip
Yes, using a pizza stone inside the camper oven really does make it cook more efficiently. Plus, Kellie can use the stone for her delicious pizzas, too.
Unfortunately, they were found in a ravine in Modesto 4 days later. They’ll never get to make pizza.
In my experience, the camper ovens tend to burn things on the bottom before they are fully baked. I've found that adding a rectangle pizza stone right above the burner helps to even out the heat and not create the hotspots.
Highly recommend max vent covers. It allows you to have your vents open in the rain without the fear of water coming in.

You can use two sided tape to hold down your boxes in the bathroom. It works well.

Place a baking stone in oven to keep food from burning on bottom. I have heard you can also use tile but i have not tried this myself. But the stone worked perfectly!! Perfect biscuits every time!!
You’re right! I use a pizza stone, and the oven is much more efficient.
I'm impressed with the head room where the bed is.
Niiiiiice. Glad to see you're upgrading from the tent! 👍👍
Beautiful new rig! Can't wait to see you all take it out and get back to enjoying a new lifestyle.
Velcro those things you don’t won’t to move every time I got tired of moving our stuff now it stays😊
FIND a place for your Dutch oven - come summer you'll want to cook, bake etc outside to keep camper cooler!
It’s awesome!!! We are so happy for you!! Love being a part of your excitement!! ❤
Congratulations on your new home! It’s really nice.
Congratulations y’all!!! This looks so awesome and will be so much more comfortable and easy for you. It’s like a happy medium between having a home and dispersed tent camping.
Finally!! So excited for you two! Can't wait to join y'all on your next phase. Love the truck. Love the camper. The wait was worth it.
I love how Kelly points with her feet! Haha Love your new house! I send you love and good vibes! ❌⭕❣️
you two make me feel there is still a chance newer generations will succeed
Haha! It came with the frame! I don’t hear enough quotes from The Burbs!
Nice truck camper!! Hope to see y’all out camping.
Perfect setup for Cape Lookout NC, primitive camping on the beach, yall would love it.
Enjoy! So happy for ya's! 🙂 Very nice!
Oh my gosh , it’s so awesome ! It’s such a big change . Thank you for sharing this adventure. You are so lucky to both enjoy the same things . ❤❤
Listen..I hardly comment, and I know this video is a year old but it’s new to me, I’ve never heard anyone else say “it came with the frame” but my family and I! We’re referencing Hans on the movie the burbs. It just made me giggle.
Yes! 😊
Happy for you kids great camper ready enjoy it. Stay safe and enjoy your life
I too just bought this same camper. Still some things to figure out!
First x here! Great presentation! Great team work. Have an exciting time exploring… love this camper & truck…
I’m so happy for y’all! This is going to be such a fun setup for all of your future adventures. 🍻 Cheers to the next chapter of Dome Life!
Congratulations. It's beautiful. So happy for your new home. Enjoy
You have an amazing amount of things in a small area. Might I suggest some sort of stacking shelves in your pantry cabinets. But you two have everything you need it seems to me. Have fun, and get out there and see things. Best of luck to you. Enjoy!
