I can't help but love this movie. Not just because of itself, but it also gives my often-forgotten hometown of Buffalo a spotlight. The action scenes were all shot in San Diego, but several of the backgrounds - like the newsroom background, the scene where Bruce and God are walking around on the lake, the Clint Eastwood scene, and Bruce declaring himself "Bruce Almighty" - were Buffalo. Jim Carrey was born and raised in Toronto, which is only a 90-minute drive from Buffalo. He's said that he made trips to and from Buffalo fairly frequently as a kid and has always spoken very well of the city and his time there. Keifer Sutherland and Mike Myers are also Toronto natives who commuted to Buffalo a lot when they were young. After a mass murder there in 2022, Myers appears on Stephen Colbert's show wearing a Buffalo Sabres jersey to show the people there that he thought of them. Despite what the movie says, the Sabres have never won a championship, and I fully expect the people there would act exactly like they did in the movie if either major team (Sabres or Bills) ever did. And if you like Jim Carrey as a cartoon, it's time to see The Mask - one of my favorite comedies ever.

It may be just a coincidence but If you look back at some key scenes in the movie, it looks as though it drops references to scripture in both Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty. For example, in the scene where Bruce picks up the broken phone and the announcer mentions the numbers 5-1-2-3, it appears to make a biblical reference to Proverbs chapter 5 verses 1 thru 23, or at least the first few verses, which is consistent with Bruce seeking answers. In Evan Almighty, there are biblical easter eggs in the guise of numbers throughout that movie as well. I just found out you live in Philly. So do I (Northeast section)👍👍

Vicky is one of the most endearing people I know of on youtube🥰
"a t_shirt at a party? So 2003"
My God, you're such an expert in dress and fashion 😮. I litteraly have no clue how people are supposed to be dress at party, even in 2024^^
Bruce Almighty was my introduction of knowing who Jim Carrey is.
After his other films like The Mask, I became a massive Jim Carrey fanboy since childhood.
I even mentioned why Bruce Almighty is a great Carrey flick in My Top 10 Jim Carrey Movies Ranking video.

So you’re a late bloomer
Great reaction to a fantastic comedy. Favorite scene will always be Steve Carell speaking gibberish in the studio.
And they do still make movies like this, might just be harder to find them, as some are buried in streaming only releases. Also, Pixar makes movies like this non stop, albeit animated. =)
You and this movie are a perfect match. Wholesome , friendly and sweet.
If you need more "Bruce Almighty" the movie have a sequel "Evan Almighty" where Evan became Noah. It is pretty fun.
Fun flick, the sequel is equally great. Awesome reaction V!
Y’all ever notice Bruce Almighty and Even Almighty are connected? As a kid I thought I was on to something.
they are.. Evan Almighty takes place about 3-5 years after Bruce Almighty
Ummm it's definitely connected, it's a sequel. This is common knowledge.
I love the way she instantly knew the family at the start were Polish simply by the surname "Kowalski", my Granddad's surname was Kowalski and he was Polish. 😄
That should be no surprise; Vkunia is Polish.
@@HeatRaver What? Ona jest Polką?
One of my favourite films! Great reaction as always 🙂
Bruce Almighty is definitely another great Jim Carrey movie have a really wonderful week V.💙☺️🐶🐱💙
this and Yes Man are my favorite Jim Carrey movies🙌so fun and uplifting🙌
"Sport man throw ball well, we riot now" 😂😂😂 this, this was gold because I agree 😂😂😂
Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty are both really good movies. They should have made another one and completed the trilogy [or should I say the holy trinity😄].
Fyi O negative is the blood they want the most and O positive next. AB positive can only give to AB positive but O negative can give to nearly all and O positive to nearly half. There are a few rare cases that require exact matches despite the normal rules that the donor can lack a component of the reciever but not the other way.
You know I've seen this movie a couple dozen times and I never noticed that when they're finishing mopping, Morgan says "Well alrighty then".....how have I missed that all these years???!!!
This is such an underrated and B-E-A-utiful movie one of my most favourite movies as a kid and even now
This movie is not underrated in anyway, shape or form! It was a huge hit at the box office and is a cherished movie! Would everybody please stop falsely using “underrated”
@@nsasupporter7557 It is in fact underrated because it didnt receive full appreciation it actually deserved and there were people hating on it for "Clowning on God" as they said
P.S. the word Underrated doesnt necessarily mean it didnt do well in box office XD
@@mustangh.m6398 nope! None of that is true… I mean yes, it did get criticism for that but you have to understand that that wasn’t everybody who said that. It was still a huge hit movie despite its criticisms, just because a movie is criticized doesn’t mean it was a flop or that it was underrated. You’re just infatuated with the word “underrated” just like so many other weirdos on UA-cam are. Bruce Almighty was not underrated! You need to get off of your obsession with the word “underrated” and stop constantly using it when it’s unnecessary
@@nsasupporter7557 i never said it was a flop XD all im saying is this movie was good and a lot more people should have appreciated this movie then they already have and you are the one that's stuck on the word "underrated" by the looks of things it seems you dont know the meaning behind that word XD
FYI Underrated-not rated or valued highly enough
again Valued highly enough that's what im saying that this movie should be Valued more and you out here calling me weirdo and obssesed with the word i used once even tho you are the one that doesnt know its meaning quite Ironic isnt it?
@@mustangh.m6398 they did appreciate it though! Just because it was criticized doesn’t mean it was underrated. You’re just infatuated with the word “underrated” like so many other people are on UA-cam. Bruce Almighty was not underrated… at all!! Plenty of big movies get criticized, it happens all the time. Please get off of your obsession with mindlessly using “underrated.” It’s annoying
The sequel Evan almighty was also good !!! You also missed the bloopers at the end !!!!
“He got his job back? I feelThat wouldn’t be enough.”
Obviously you don’t appreciate the significance of FINDING Jimmy Hoffa’s body!!😂😂 Only one of the biggest mysteries of the last century. Right up there with Amelia Earhart and D.B. Cooper.
The Majestic: Jim Carrey doing more than comedy and a very under-rated movie.
This!
The Majestic was a flop unfortunately though
The movie with the moon is It's a Wonderful Life.
I just saw It's a Wonderful Life for the first time a few weeks ago. I now understand why it's considered a masterpiece.
I grew up in Buffalo, NY. When I saw this in theaters I kept thinking "Did they make this movie in different versions for each city?" The only movie to be made there.
Nah that “megabyte me” joke was freaking amazing lol
The twist is absolute power corrupts absolutely...until he starts using his powers selflessly.
You want to see a miracle?
Be the miracle!
This and The Prince of Egypt are the movies that I *absolutely love* even though I'm not overly religious.
When God the Janitor climbs the ladder and says "Yeah, I think you can handle things now." That's Christ, going back to Heaven. That's essentially what the crucifixion story is. He cleaned up our sin and left it to us to continue his work. Because we can.
...well there's more to it than that, but it's always fun to see all the parallels, anyway.
19:26 It’s a wonderful life
Late 90s to early 2000s were the end of the era of truly good movies in my opinion.
The movie with the 'You want the moon?" line is It's A Wonderful Life, and I think you'd probably like it. It's a good holiday watch.
"I need a spooooo" gets me EVERY TIME
It's A Wonderful Life has to be the next on your list to watch. It's easily top ten greatest movies ever made. It's the one Grace is watching before the party. It's from 1946 and ingrained in pop culture and most don't realize it. You'll bawl your eyes out, but it's the best feel good movie. It's Xmas movie, but it's worth watching year round.
If you want to wait till closer to Halloween, one Jim Carrey movie I liked is "Once Bitten".
That was before he was famous
09:55 Morgan Freeman is atheist, but has played God several times in movies.
I like him even more now.
I hate to say it but I loved the monkey scene
I still love the part with the tomato soup where he parts it like the red sea.. i love puns... is that a pun? close enough.... but the Ten Commandments like music to go with it.... love it
11:59 Bless you
25:45 One tote bag of PIPE CLEANERS! It is an important distinction because everyone remembers when they broke up with a future fiance and thought "I've got to get my pipe cleaners back!"
8:25 Your laugh is so contagious…❤😂
There's deleted scenes showing the consequences of some of the prayers he answered. Glad they deleted them.
I loved this movie - I know it’s not a Jim Carrey movie but the sequel, Evan Almighty, starring Steve Carell is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend adding it to your watch list! It’s been a while but I think I actually preferred the sequel to the original! 🤔🤯
Fun fact the guy who had a monkey come out his butt always plays the same character in everything he’s in and they’re always named hector 😂
