Such an underrated comedy and definitely one of the best ones I've ever seen. 1990-2010 had the best comedies as back then, people weren't as sensitive as they are now.
Lol stop, just stop.😂😂 Back then Eminem and Dr Dre were hounded by politicians, religious fanatics and conservatives as was the Simpsons as was South Park (including several celebrities that were so sensitive that they filed several frivolous lawsuits, one all because he didn't like gay jokes) and thats just the tip of the iceberg... Conservatives and religious fanatics have always been and always will be the whiniest, most overly sensitive bunch of man babies on the planet. But please, keep going on about how sensitive everyone is now ROFL 😂😂
A couple of fun facts about this movie: Ben Stiller broke three cameras in succession filming one scene, and even hit his wife Christine Taylor in the face once. In an interview he said they drove home together and that it was a very awkward moment between the two. According to many cast members, the hardest part of filming the dodgeball scenes was not flinching when they knew they were about to be hit by a ball. One of Dame Helen Mirren's favorite movies, according to Rotten Tomatoes. In the scene where Peter walks into his hotel room and White and Me'Shell are there waiting for him, White says, "¿Donde está la biblioteca Pedro?" In Spanish, it means "Where is the library Peter?". Of the 32 teams in the Las Vegas Tournament, 16 were identified by name or shown in competition. They are: Average Joes, Globo Gym Purple Cobras, Flying Cougars, Team Blitzkrieg, Kamikazies, Skillz that Killz, Las Vegas Police Department, Lumberjacks, M.I.L.F.S., Moose Knuckles, Clown Punchers, Mulchers, She-Mullets, Wedgies, Yetis and Pouncers. Dodgeball 2 has been confirmed and is currently in development.
This movie is a hilarious classic! This is also the movie that introduced me to Alan Tudyk, Justin Long, Jole David Moore, Jason Bateman, Gary Cole, and Chris Williams! I remember everyone in middle school would recite hilarious lines from the movie! They just don’t make comedy movies like these anymore. ‘Dude, Where’s My Car’, ‘The New Guy’, ‘Anchorman’, ‘The Benchwarmers’, ‘Kangaroo Jack’… so many classic 2000s comedy to list. Your reaction towards the end of the movie was priceless! Hahaha! I’m glad you enjoy the film! :D
My favorite line - ESPN, the Ocho! We say that all the time when we find ourselves watching an obscure sport. I also love Jason Bateman in this - he's so spacy!
There are few movies I can watch a bunch of times and still really enjoy. Dodgeball, Grandma's Boy and Road Trip are the main three that I never get tired of. EDIT: And Eurotrip!
Christine Taylor, the lead actress, is Ben Stiller's wife. They were in Zoolander together, which is maybe Ben Stiller's funniest movie. It's not for everyone, but the people who like it, love it.
When I was a kid, we played a game with a tennis ball that we called "Sting", part of which involved posting up facing the wall as someone took their best shot at your back 🤣 Definitely was pretty brutal, but we friggin loved it, and I hope kids today are still trying to have some real fun, even as the adults do their best to ruin it all.
Back in the day I actually met Alan Tudyk one day when he actually came into my work. And I got to talking with him and it was actually pretty close after Firefly was canceled. And I asked him about hey I'm coming projects he have you told me that he was filming dodgeball, or just got done with it. We both agreed it was that was so cool. And the funny thing is is that the cast and crew all would have pickup games of dodgeball and that everybody had a blast
This is one of the few sports related movies I can bear watching (though i suppose that's using the term "sports" a bit liberally); it has some of the best comedy writing I've ever experienced and I just love the whole film to death.
This was another in the long line of the Frat Pack movies, the best of which were Zoolander, Old School, Anchorman, and Wedding Crashers. Old School's my personal favorite.
17:28 - "Not with an underhand throw. You can't do that. With that speed? Uh uh." She clearly has never watched a good softball pitcher. Women can throw underhand softball pitches at more than 75 mph, men at more than 100 mph.
Ben Stiller comedy movies are almost always a win, especially from that era! Add these to your list… - There’s Something About Mary - Mystery Men - Keeping the Faith - Meet the Parents - Night at the Museum - Tropic Thunder - Tower Heist
Ben Stiller comedies: There's Something About Mary, Meet the Parents, Along Came Polly, Starsky & Hutch, Mystery Men, The Watch, Tower Heist, Duplex. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is not a comedy, but it is an underrated Ben Stiller movie.
What makes the awkward interactions between White Goodman and Kate Beach so hilarious is that Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor are married in real life.
You're awfully confident about being completely wrong. This movie came out in 2004. Stiller and Taylor were married in 2000. Easily verifiable. So yes, they were absolutely married during the making of this movie.
(they were also married for Zoolander. The only thing they did together before marriage was a unaired pilot called Heat Vision and Jack with Jack Black and Owen Wilson)
This movie is insanely quotable, hysterical, and just plain fun! I absolutely love this one. And we knew what we were doing back then with humor. No one got bent out of shape, we just laughed. "If you want dodgeball victory you gotta grab it by it's haunches and hump it into submission. That's the only way!"
Definitely should check the movie, Heavyweights. Ben Stiller plays the "villain" haha. His character in Dodgeball, I believe, is based off of that. Good movie.
The fact that Dodgeball made such an impact that every year ESPN pays homage by becoming ESPN 8 "The Ocho" is mind-blowingly hilarious to me
ESPN does this on August 8, or 8/8. I love how they've turned this into a tradition.

16:03 I love how she was genuinely concerned for Justin, he’s a good actor
Such an underrated comedy and definitely one of the best ones I've ever seen. 1990-2010 had the best comedies as back then, people weren't as sensitive as they are now.
Lol stop, just stop.😂😂
Back then Eminem and Dr Dre were hounded by politicians, religious fanatics and conservatives as was the Simpsons as was South Park (including several celebrities that were so sensitive that they filed several frivolous lawsuits, one all because he didn't like gay jokes) and thats just the tip of the iceberg...
Conservatives and religious fanatics have always been and always will be the whiniest, most overly sensitive bunch of man babies on the planet.
But please, keep going on about how sensitive everyone is now ROFL 😂😂
I would love a comedy that actually flips off the sensitive SoBs.
Working theory is White Goodman is actually Tony Perkis From Heavyweights, after having a nervous breakdown he changed his name and opened a Gym
"She's preganté?"
Nice reference.
They are actually in the works of making part 2 of Dodgeball so I’m excited to see it
A couple of fun facts about this movie:
Ben Stiller broke three cameras in succession filming one scene, and even hit his wife Christine Taylor in the face once.
the guy with glasses is in office space as milton
The fact that you know who the Undertaker is makes me a bigger fan of your channel.
My favorite line - ESPN, the Ocho! We say that all the time when we find ourselves watching an obscure sport. I also love Jason Bateman in this - he's so spacy!
Another good Ben Stiller comedy is called Heavyweights , it’s about a camp for overweight children and Ben Stiller plays the Camp counselor
There are few movies I can watch a bunch of times and still really enjoy. Dodgeball, Grandma's Boy and Road Trip are the main three that I never get tired of. EDIT: And Eurotrip!
Add Old School and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and you have a line up of pure gold
Christine Taylor, the lead actress, is Ben Stiller's wife. They were in Zoolander together, which is maybe Ben Stiller's funniest movie. It's not for everyone, but the people who like it, love it.
Ben Stiller directed and cameoed in The Cable Guy starring Jim Carrey and Mathew Broderick. A+ dark comedy, highly recommend.
When I was a kid, we played a game with a tennis ball that we called "Sting", part of which involved posting up facing the wall as someone took their best shot at your back 🤣
Definitely was pretty brutal, but we friggin loved it, and I hope kids today are still trying to have some real fun, even as the adults do their best to ruin it all.
Like how Ben is pretty much his same character in Heavy Weights.
I like how you laughed at Winston getting hit before you said "noooo".
Uh uh."
She clearly has never watched a good softball pitcher. Women can throw underhand softball pitches at more than 75 mph, men at more than 100 mph.
Ben Stiller comedy movies are almost always a win, especially from that era!
Add these to your list…
- There’s Something About Mary
- Mystery Men
- Keeping the Faith
- Meet the Parents
- Night at the Museum
- Tropic Thunder
- Tower Heist
The lance armstrong cameo aged hilariously.
First person who actually pointed out the whole tax issue with the $50k.
22:05 that laugh from that particular line is worth the entire reaction 😂
Ben Stiller comedies: There's Something About Mary, Meet the Parents, Along Came Polly, Starsky & Hutch, Mystery Men, The Watch, Tower Heist, Duplex. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is not a comedy, but it is an underrated Ben Stiller movie.
What makes the awkward interactions between White Goodman and Kate Beach so hilarious is that Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor are married in real life.
*Veatch (not Beach)
You're awfully confident about being completely wrong. This movie came out in 2004. Stiller and Taylor were married in 2000. Easily verifiable. So yes, they were absolutely married during the making of this movie.
(they were also married for Zoolander. The only thing they did together before marriage was a unaired pilot called Heat Vision and Jack with Jack Black and Owen Wilson)
(and there was a bit of dirty deleting so now I'm correcting no one 🤣🤣🤣)
This movie is insanely quotable, hysterical, and just plain fun! I absolutely love this one. And we knew what we were doing back then with humor. No one got bent out of shape, we just laughed.
"If you want dodgeball victory you gotta grab it by it's haunches and hump it into submission. That's the only way!"
Christine Taylor always looks great (going back to "Hey Dude") but this is one of her best ones I think
"No one makes me bleed my own blood."
Definitely should check the movie, Heavyweights. Ben Stiller plays the "villain" haha. His character in Dodgeball, I believe, is based off of that. Good movie.
Dodgeball was my favorite sport to play during gym class. Nobody makes me bleed my own blood is my favorite line
Rip Torn was hysterical as Patches. Remember him as Zed in "Men in Black"?
That car wash scene made me crack up
And the wrench throwing
"Germans love David Hasselhoff." Look it up, Norm McDonald said so. And I'm so glad you let those credits roll.
It wasn’t that long ago when they made “comedy” movies. They’ve since been banned
