For the ladies I will explain what Alan is wearing in the opening scene. Its a jock strap. Why is he wearing it in that situation, I do not know. Also V, while I'm not a huge fan of Vegas, there are some really cool shows there, the gambling not so much, but shows and some nice restaurants, not bad.
Considering in India we are paying relatively cheapest costs for data and free unlimited phone calls, still, the company making billions in profit, definitely a lot of wiggle room in the phone bill ...
Went to your patreon, but all membership tiers say the movies are blurred and I have to play a separate copy. that doesn't work for me because I play these in the background of what I am doing, if I happen to glance I want the scene being reacted to available, like it is in this UA-cam version. Even the 20$ tier doesn't say unblurred. I may be new to patreon and it may be some sort of piracy evasion language with the unblurred movie on the other side of the subscription, but I don't want to falsify a subscription to find out. Please clarify which membership tier is the uncut version of a reaction like this, where the movie is visible in the background. It makes it really difficult to move to a creator's patreon if I find out that the actual thing that I'm looking for on that patreon is in a different format than what I see on UA-cam. If every single thing is blurred I could just watch your stuff on UA-cam. There's no reason for me to go get the uncut version because it's actually even more cut because there's no movie in the background. If it was the full movie, displayed, with your commentary, then it would be worth it. Just a tip from someone who would have given you money
The wedding band actually has their own little cinematic universe: Hangover, Old School, and Starsky & Hutch. They basically take classic songs and make them dirty
Ed Helms never had that incisor growing up and had an implant put in as a teenager. He had the implant removed for the movie, so he was actually missing a tooth for those scenes.
Jim Carrey did the same thing for Dumb And Dumber. He chipped his front tooth in school from getting pushed into a desk during an altercation with another kid. He had to get his tooth capped as a result. Years later when he was about to start work on Dumb And Dumber, he suggested to the Farrelly brothers that he remove his tooth cap to make the Lloyd character look more goofy and deranged.
Ken Jeong KILLED it as Chow! And I think this was his first big role (community premiered in the same year) after a couple appearances in Judd Apatow films. At the time of filming, his wife was fighting cancer. He would ad lib some inside jokes in Vietnamese to make his wife laugh. It’s the most wholesome bit of trivia about this movie, I think
yep, he talked about in an interview he really enjoyed this role because the stresses of what was happening at home. Chow allowed him to let out some anger and to find ways to entertain his wife.
I will never forget seeing this one in the theaters. I had not laughed that hard in a long time. The energy in the audience added to the enjoyment of this movie.
It's crazy that Phil is supposed to be the worst influence of the bunch but when shit hits the fan he's the one to take charge to solve the problem. These characters are so well written 😂
I mean he is also the one who created almost all the problems. He threw Doug on the roof, he made Chow mad, he stole the tiger, we never found out but I'm pretty sure it was also his idea to steal the cop car.
I got married to my second wife in Vegas. When you get married in Vegas you have to stand in a long line to get a marriage certificate. So while in line we started talking to the couple behind us. It turned out the guy was getting married to the baby sitter of his girlfriends kid. He was suppose to take her home from baby sitting the night before after he and his girlfriend went out. But they decided to runaway with each other and get hitched. Vegas is a wild place.
"The Hangover" is a modern retelling of "The Wizard of Oz." Alan (Scarecrow) has no brain. His hair and beard look like straw. Phil (Tin Man) has no heart. His silvery gray vest symbolizes the Tin Man's hollow metal chest. Stu (Cowardly Lion) has no courage. He's missing a tooth...he's toothless. Doug (Dorothy) just wants to go home. If the guys had found him, he could have done so at any time, in the silver Mercedes. (In the original book, Dorothy wore Silver Slippers.)
to be fair, its said a bachelor and bachelorette party are meant for the friends not the bride or groom, its basically their reward for organising or helping with the wedding.
And somehow still sympathising with her being dumped at a wedding, never mind she was creating a scene at it. Is it surprising somehow it's all on the guy and not the woman .
It doesn't have the strongest replay value, but watching this in theaters upon release was one of the best comedy movie experiences. It was a special vibe lol
This was my go-to in-flight movie for years until Delta dropped it - utterly timeless Fun fact, the guy delivering the tuxes on the interstate (funniest thing in the entire movie) is the lead singer of the band that's playing the song for that scene.
I went to Vegas for the first time 2 years ago, you know I had to watch this movie on the flight back 😂 was so crazy recognizing all the locations in the establishing shots from what I had just seen the previous days
23:00 technically it’s any hotel that you can’t open windows. Mainly due to two things, one is wind tunnels since if your high up and you open your room door and window a blast of wind will come through making stuff fly everywhere and may cause harm. Second and obvious one is sui cidal reasons since ppl can open and you know what. Only “window” to open is if room comes with a balcony to go out but those cost extra.
Also, the roof element is reversed. The door will always open from the roof. If someone parachuted in, they would be able to get down. The door will only open to the roof if unlocked by a key.
I've spent a lot of time in 'Vegas for work, on average 42 days/year for several years. And let me say this: the movie, The Hangover... is plausible. Things in LV have a way of escalating like nowhere else on earth, and I've travelled extensively, repeatedly.
There's so much more to do in Las Vegas. There's actually a Titanic Museum, shows like Circus Soleil, Peen And Teller, etc, it's not just drinking and gambling lol
Dude, Where's My Car? - it's a classic comedy that came out 8 years before Hangover and is basically same premise, guys are figuring out what happened last night.
I used to be like you when it comes to Las Vegas. Not my vibe, not my scene. I don't gamble, I don't have any interest in gambling. But if you can afford to see the shows and eat at the nice restaurants, you'll discover things you won't find anywhere else in the world. If you're a Beatles fan - or even if you're not - the Love show at the Mirage is a bucket list kind of experience. You can do Las Vegas on the cheap but I recommend splurging (if you can afford it) at least once and give it a try. Now then, when you say "I don't think Vegas is really like this" movie, you might be right. But there's no where else in the world where the events of this movie could more likely take place!
I lived in Vegas for a year and worked at JEWEL (the nightclub at Aria) and Daylight Pool & Dayclub (closed at the end of this last season) and am moving back in April. Never want to live anywhere else except maybe Israel (I have family in Hadera a beach community 75% Jews from the Soviet Union and 25% black Ethiopian and Kenyan Jews, between Tel Aviv and Haifa)
Honestly, this is probably the best of the three. The others largely tread the same ground and while they do have their moments it's difficult to ignore that they're a bit stuck in a rut.

ed helms lost that tooth when he was a kid, so his dentist took out his fake tooth for the filming of this movie and then put it back in when they were done.
I almost had a hangover experience last summer in Vegas. My friend went missing from a bar and called me screaming that he was lost and to come find him
Bachelor parties aren't all bad. For mine, my buddies took me out to a diner, we had a great cheeseburger and talked about all of the fun shit we had done, and then I proclaimed that some things in the world are sacred, and one of them is a man's fries. You never try to steal one of a guys french fries.
"Did he actually not have a tooth there?!? I am soooo curious!" Ironically, Ed Helms (the guy who pulls out his tooth) is in fact missing that tooth. It never grew in as a child, so he got a dental implant when he was 17 that makes him have a completely normal looking smile! 😁😁😁
My daughter met the actress who plays Stu's GF at a poker tournament. Said she was the sweetest woman ever. LOL. :) And my son-in-law won the tournament. :D
This was fun to watch. It's definitely funny how you miss some of the cultural references to past movies like rain man. Regardless, always so fun to her your reactions.
Fun Fact: It was Ken Joeng's idea to be naked in that scene where he jumps out of the trunk. Apparently he thought it would be funnier. I take that back. He KNEW it would be funnier! 🤣
Card counting is neither illegal nor is it frowned upon. Blackjack requires counting by nature. Technically they can eject you for any reason, including winning too much money. But you still decide when to hit, stay, double down or split based on guesses about the contents of the deck.
I love this movie and it never gets old. Allen asking if it’s the real Caesar’s Palace is one of my favorite parts. I hope you do the 2 sequels. They are definitely worth it.
You must add Rain Man, Best Picture winner, to your reaction list. The counting cards portion was a total spoof of Rain Man, an iconic classic- just like you. 😁
Say what you want about Phil but he’s the most level headed and reliable in a crisis, he’s smart, he never ever cheats on his wife or betrays his family and friends. Most of what he does is just because he wants everyone to push themselves
9:46 I 100% agree…If you’re about to get married & you still feel the need to have a bachelor/Bachelorette party than (To me in my personal opinion) You’re not ready to be married & You probably shouldn’t even be in a relationship, Because you’re still got that single mode mindset….It’s ok to be single & sleep around if you’re not ready than you’re not ready but don’t rush into marriage or a relationship if you feel that you haven’t experienced your sexuality to it’s full potential…I feel this is the mistake most people make & It ends as expected….CHEATING 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Totally rad reaction! This movie and it's antics never get old! As funny and ad good a job as everyone does in this movie, Zack G. steals the show as Alan (my opinion). The scenes with the tiger are my favorite. Not going to lie here, I'm not the biggest fan of the sequels but if you choose to react to them, I'll definitely watch. I love your reactions because your laughter and smile are contagious (in a good way) and you genuinely seem to be having fun watching the movie and/or episode. Keep up the great work and Happy New Year! Many blessings to you and yours!
Gambling is fun, if you can afford to lose the money. My rule of thumb is treat gambling as if you'll never get the money back, and instead you're in it for the fun and free drinks. then I go play craps till 4 AM.
I recommend an underrated comedy from 2001 with a crazy cast and an incredible story. "Rat Race" also sometime called "Cash Express" (Rowan Atkinson, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Seth Green ...) Peace 🙂
I absolutely *loved* this movie when it came out. "Remember: what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Except for herpes. That shit'll come back with you." Jeffrey Tambor is hilarious.
"21 & Up" is in the same vein as "The Hangover." Missing friend, no memory, trying to reverse-engineer the night, etc. It has one of the greatest cold-opens I've seen, though, second only to "Super Troopers." (In my opinion.)

I completely agree with you about bachelor and bachelorette parties. They should be something you do after a divorce, not right before you get married

You are the first person I know of who shares my aversion to Vegas and bachelor/ette parties. We're a rare breed. 😀
Ed Helms in real life has a removable tooth and for fun agreed to take it out for the movie.
FYI this was a set and the outside view is cgi, also the rooftop scene 8:06
You've got to watch the rest of the hangover movies
I recommend an underrated comedy from 2001 with a crazy cast and an incredible story.
"Rat Race" also sometime called "Cash Express"
(Rowan Atkinson, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Seth Green ...)
Peace 🙂
I absolutely *loved* this movie when it came out.
"Remember: what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Except for herpes. That shit'll come back with you." Jeffrey Tambor is hilarious.
VKunia: "What a COOL teacher."
Me, waiting for the envelope to come out:
"21 & Up" is in the same vein as "The Hangover." Missing friend, no memory, trying to reverse-engineer the night, etc. It has one of the greatest cold-opens I've seen, though, second only to "Super Troopers." (In my opinion.)
