I think they're both good but i personally prefer world, i like it more bc i find it more immersive, like actually trying to find something to hunt, find the clues and that,i think that's dope
so for a player to get into this game you suggest going world instead of rise? looking for something refreshing, i been palying that epic games game. Dauntless
@@mercenario3968 thank you, i might try both. xbox pass has it for free also trying out wild hearts atm but i dont know all bout that game. the combat isnt really that satisfying with just light and heavy attacks. Is it true world is more immersive because you have to actually look for these monsters where in rise its straight forward just the combat is maybe better?
World = cinematic monster Hunter Rise = arcadey monster Hunter More mh is always good. Just enjoy which ever you enjoy, and if you enjoy both then your life is enriched two-fold.
World was my first MH game and I fell in love with it almost immediately, the game and biomes just feel alive and while I like Rise it just doesn't feel as rewarding to play and it feels like a lot of the charm World had was purposefully removed from Rise.
@@Defa_Noob My problem is that each new monster you faced, they had a cutscenes for it to show the dangers of these monsters. Not only that but they made it feels natural, it truly was a world
I've played the original/older monster hunters ages ago, I liked them. But after World got released, I simply could not go back to the "norm" of monster hunters. In my opinion World is an upgrade to the formula of monster hunter. When I tried Rise, it didn't feel the same, it felt like I was given less. I think it has to do with World being made for more powerful machines. I'll certainly play all Monster Hunters that release for PC, but only if they keep expanding and trying something like World. I feel like I'm playing a scuffed version of a game that could be, when it's "ported". It's like if something like Fire Emblem was made for PC, I would not enjoy it as something that's like a port, but if it was created as it's own thing, I'd love it.
Yea designing a game for the switch is disgustingly weak for the price. Nintendo really hasn’t upgraded their system much since the gameboy color. Hopefully the next system Nintendo releases is at least 3/4 as powerful as a smartphone.
MH World removed a lot of stuff that for some feels pointless while managing to fail some things at the same time. No more pickaxe, bugnets nor sharpenkng Stones. They are now infinet in different magical ass bag giving you more inventory space so you wont have to grind materials so bad. Always access to dtorage in any camp allowing you to restock mid hunt or even biy your food if you forgot instead of having to abond mission and try again. Removed most unique sikns from wepaons. Just alone Hunting Horn I can quickly see aroukd 30 hunting hirns sharing three skins without counting leveled versions of them like Bone Horn 1, 2 and 3. The layout of map always spawning you at bottom forcing you to run up to get food and also to visit 5 different 9laces between runs taking like 2 to 15 mintes between hunts westing time? MHGU everything was compact because the game could not run massive towns 😂 Paintballs and Marking was reloved in favor of finding tracks and eventually just auto locating the monster when you find enough tracks of a monster. Clutch Claw mandarory was kinda downer, I prefered World over Iceborn. Game play is fun and solid but again Iceborn new Horny move kinda is only move I use ina ny opening as it seems and feels to do most damage rtrtrtrtrttrr... I love Hunting Horn. After playing MGHU and World at the same time I personally prefer MHGU more but wish it was done in PC just like World 😂 like take best parts from both? They improvisaatio the miltoplayer but hou have to wait for other person to watch cut scenes? Wtf. Just let me hang and say "yes I want to peogress my story" Like Guild Wars 2 does it. Over all I give World 8,5/10 and MHGU 9,5/10 personal opinion. World loses a whole point because missing unique weapon skins!
Both games are truly great. To me, Rise feels like the classic romp of old school MH games tuned to their maximum and looking the best they ever have on a mobile format, and World (especially Iceborne) is just a masterclass of what MH can truly be in the modern gaming space once they adapted all the new practices and technology available to them from the last couple decades.
If they were to literally just fuze the two games, having monster hunter world but added being able to ride palimutes, being able to mount and control monsters and adding the wall running/parkour elements you'd have one of the best games ever in my opinion
Remember this video is my opinion guys so be sure to drop your own preference to the better monster hunter game down below in a nice manner! :D Check out my comparison video on the two games' expansions! ua-cam.com/video/YNgEaD3q0Pg/v-deo.html - Iceborne vs Sunbreak!
I hope that in the next MH they focus more on the adventure/immersion aspect of the game. I like it when I don't know what I'm about to fight since it gives me incentive in preparing as much as I can before going further. Rise had intros for monsters which are cool but they remove the "nani" factor and monsters location always shown on the map just straight up remove some tension. I like it when quest doesn't say what you're about to hunt if you haven't encountered them yet.
Agreed. I've got both games but wor,d has the edge in immersion. Not telling you where the monster is, is part of the hunt. Could be round any corner. Rise removes that
I don't. Last thing i want is to be running around clucking thousands of "tracks" so i can begin the hunt. Imersion=boredom in this case. Fun over realism.
The immersion factor of MHW was just beyond anything I've experienced before or since. I feel more immersed playing MHW than even something like Red Dead Redemption 2. It feels like a whole world that I am living in and exploring the outdoors. They also really melded the theme of the story together with this feeling perfectly being all about nature and the cycles of the natural world in the game. It felt like a game made for people who like and appreciate the great outdoors, ironically being a video game sort of the opposite of being in the outdoors lol.
Having played both I do slightly prefer World as I love the immersion of the maps and preferring Iceborne over Sunbreak. That being said though there are aspects I preferred about Rise, such as its aesthetics and combat. I often find myself missing the other while playing one so it isn't a clean cut favorite.
For it was the setting, with World, being sent to a colony and help out is always more interesting to me. You're fresh off the boat and so is your party, you have a new world to explore. Rise is someone defending their homeland. While I won't fault the game for going that route, it didn't hook me. I think it's because I was new to both games. Rise felt like I woke up with all my memories gone which didn't click with me. The player character is a native of the village so know everyone and the village, plus they just passed the hunting exam but as a player, i felt some disconnect. I know monster hunter isn't about the story but it's more of an immersion thing with me. I will admit to bias towards world for a petty reason. My pc was barely powerful enough to play world when my friends were into it. Kept crashing in the intro and also couldn't go past the desert map. When I did upgrade, they all moved on and I didn't really have anyone to play with. I tried rise on the switch but I think i was unjustly that i couldn't get my fill out of world properly.
Just so everyone knows, the Flooded forest and the Sandy Plains was introduced in the 3rd generation as segmented areas glad they made a return and including maps that was in Sunbreak like the jungle and the Forlorn arena , As an old MH Veteran who first played the first MH it's incredibly nostalgic to bring them back
I would give farming to world, cause from the botanist you can get some material for potions tools traps ect. Then there's the Arogosy and the tailraiders
@@austinsams9773 I think certain monster drop certain jewels. Like some monsters drop dash extract and some drop the other extract, ill be honest forgot the name of the second extract, been playing elden ring like crazy
@@colechestnut6627 being able to make decorations is much more appealing to a casual gammer and makes making multiple builds feel a lot less like a chore its a main reason why raw builds were so common in world because they absolute grind to have a weapon good for any situation was tedious Because of all that rng when you could make one raw build and be fine for most of it
@@austinsams9773 well yea, but you play the game to how you want. You can gear set that great for the whole game like I did, or build stuff specifically for each monster, and gettin decorations for wepins and stuff. Some people like the technical aspect and some like the raw aspect. Respect to how you wanna play, but I like gettin technical with the elements and the skills.
I enjoyed this. As someone who is considering either/or. I feel like either way I'm getting a good game if I buy either one in this current year. Might do Rise since it's more appealing to me in terms of aesthetics. But I don't think I'll be disappointed with either game.
To me, the votes here were simple Rise: +1 Superbly better combat mechanics. +1 Having a personal mount traversal throughout the zones World: +100 Everything else is superior. Post Script bag of Wishes: Give me the Graphics of World, the diversity and challenge of World, the seemless map size of world, (or better- an open world) the true multi-player hub of Rise, the combat mechanics of Rise, and the personal mount of Rise and you have a perfect game.
From pure combat gameplay perspective I like Rise better, but when it comes to immersion, world building, incentive to explore and the world just feeling more alive it's definitely World for me. Right from the get go I think the premise of being deployed to a new undiscovered world feels way better for a fish out of water narrative than being some village dude that people have to explain stuff to despite him having lived there for 20 years. That's like joining the cops and having a tutorial explaining to you what a criminal is lol.
The one thing I noticed was how meaty the sound effects made the weapons feel in world compared to rise. The impact wasn't there on the previously heavy hitting weapons like charge blade
Yeah, weapon sounds in rise are garbage. Take the Longsword as example and compare both games, world does a WAY better job at delivering those impacts through their sounds, as in rise they are minimal and make the weapon feel very dull and bland, the only way you know LS is better in rise apart from the moveset is by seeing numbers, if you turn that damage number display off, feels like you are using a kitchen knife.
Honestly, I think world takes it, there are so many small things in world that rise doesn't have, that you miss, like holy crap there are so many small details I am still noticing things to this day. And that adds up. Rise just feels like its missing a lot, heck, compare the settings, a new, unexplored continent with unknown monsters, same place with the same monsters we killed before.
@Gen loyola Rise is massive step backwards in almost every department compared to world. You can like Rise better that's fine. But objectively World is a better game that is simply technologically superior.
@@nicrox2000 nah you’re on crack base world is better than base rise but sunbreak is BETTER than iceborne. The gameplay is soo much more deep and customizable and it also has a better flow than ice borne.
@Ant In terms of how much they added to the gameplay yes rise had a better upgrade. World didn't need that massive upgrade because it was already so good.
As someone whose first real experience of Monster Hunter was Generations, I have to say that the farming of World was excellent to me because farming charms meant that builds could never min-max due to the rng of the stats. In World, the jewels drop rate is rng BUT the actual skillpoints are consistent and with enough farming your build can be completed without any gaps. It sounds like Rise is following the Generations model (and I still loved Geneations to death, its why I bought World immediately) and I remember how I never found the perfect charms I needed even though me and my 3 other friends spent months as cats running around Rajang in that damn volcano.
I don’t know why but rise just felt like something was missing when I played. The combat and qol were good but the intention that went into world just didn’t feel like it was put into rise
@@GregMeije Almost everyone who played mh did. It literally came out first buddy, well between rise and world at least. Even newcomers to the series go for world, it just looks more appealing. And gameplay feels more rewarding.
I think rise had fun combat but I really, REALLY hope the franchise stays with worlds type of combat. More slow and methodical, where rise was more reactionary with all of those damn counters.
@A. Garcha yeah I actually agree. I think that stems from having infinite potions from camp. Since you have infinite potions the game has to resort to cheap tactics to kill you
@@stephenread7944 true that's why I'm just more of a fan of rise combat, being able to recover quickly with silkbugs is great, even things like if a monster makes space you have to sheath your weapon and run over gets really tedious. If they could combine the mobility, gap closers and recovery from rise with the precise positioning and setups from world it would be perfect. Also streamline worlds grind because Christ some of it is just unnecessary.
@@a.garcha199 have you played sns in rise it feels like you’re hitting monsters with squeaky toy compared to mh world the combat definitely feels less impactful
World is my first game to the series. I was familiar with the old titles due to friends playing them, but back then I was more interested in WWII shooters. MHW maps was 100x better than what MHR brought. MHW was more alive and the whole nature aspect for each map was more immersive. Personally for me MHW gameplay was more fun, even farming for gear, crafting items was more enjoyable. You can play extremely tactical in MHW by knowing the maps and what to bring in and if you know the areas well you can pick up your remaining items before getting to your fight. Iceborne was such a good DLC, adding more monsters big and small. A new area, new gear and also a new difficulty which to me was a challenge but also fun! MHR did have the quick looting system which I really liked! The combat was better in MHR but I still feel like MHW was a strong combat system. Both games are great but I personally play MHW more than MHR.
I enjoy both, but I'll say this.. when I play Rise/Sunbreak I REALLY miss aspects from World/Iceborne, when I play World/Iceborne I really don't find myself missing anything from Rise/Sunbreak.
I usually don’t complain about graphics. But MHW world graphics made some of the monsters look absolutely amazing. Like Glavenous, Gold Rathian, etc….. It’s a serious that I believe should have better graphics for this reason alone. Not including the environments you’re in and seeing the monsters seem truly alive and going about their days.
That's literally the opposite when I hit something in world it's like I slapped them with a napkin hitting something in rise is like a took a shot of cocaine and my endorphins just got a major boost especially with great sword big boy numbers and hammer bonks
On the part about talismans and decorations I'd give it to World, it specifically had Alpha and Beta armour sets to help you comfortably adjust your sets if you had or hadn't managed to get the decorations you wanted but when you did get your decorations you could mix and match them with different sets and you could craft talismans for the main skill you wanted and upgrade it as you played the game like an extra armour piece. Rise's talismans are so RNG heavy that you may never get the perfect talisman for your set and if you do it may only be good for that one set and might not be useful for any other weapon, decoration crafting is mostly fine apart from sometimes needing a lot of materials if you need several of the same decoration.
Thank you for the video, quite straightforward and fair comparisob *One of the most important to me factors that made me choose between the two * was *game size* as well. So gg.
I definitely disagree with what he says about the combat, the combat in world feels waaay more impactful and had some power to it. Grabbing to a monster with the clutch claw feels much better than the floaty wire bug. The environmental interaction in world for combat was amazing. The detail in world is way better and it feels like your actually destroying/being destroyed by a monster during combat. Rise feels very dull and empty in its combat, the weapons feel weak and the wire bug is very boring to use.
I personally prefer world over rise. When I found and fought a new monster in world it felt like this big deal. Meanwhile in rise there were only 2 times I felt like that and that was with rajang and bazelgeuse.
11:50 I disagree. World having different equipment you could unlock for your Palico as well as the ability to control when they use them is something I prefer over Rise's Palicoes, who end up just randomly tossing out their abilities.
As someone who has played all the MH games world is by far imo the most immersive Monster hunter game everything from the enviroments and monsters to the different regions felt alive.
I'm liking Rise because I always hated waiting mid fight in World. Getting knocked down and standing back up over and over, constantly stunned by roars, those tiny ass hits that make you flinch. Least in Rise I can wirebug out of a knockdown instantly, and being mostly an IG user I get max earplugs and flinch resistance or something. Though Worlds atmosphere was really something. Rise like gameplay with World atmosphere would probably be my go to MH game.
They both have a place in my heart, if i want to have a slow and methodical experience i will go with world and if i want a more fast pace difficult experience i will go with rise, they are both great games
strongly disagree with base game monster roster. I think it's rise no contest. world had a very narrow type of monster that you could encounter in base game, with not much variation. If we were comparing endgame iceborne with endgame sunbreak I'd have to sit and really think and compare the rosters but base game? no contest in rise's favor. just bringing back leviathans alone gets it an edge
World is a much more experience focused game , whereas rise is more a pick up and lets do a quick hunt. World is a vibe, a sensation, a real feeling of being a hunter in a strange world. Rise is more … arcadey almost, more akin to its pre-world versions. Both great, but world wins for me.
I personally enjoy both. My first ever introduction to Monster Hunter was the Monster Hunter Freedom Unite demo for the PSP. Man, that was YEARS ago. At the time, I was breaking away from Nintendo (I think I was getting sick of Mario and wanted something more than that...) and PlayStation did just that for me. My first Non-Nintendo console was the Sony PSP. My dad had sold his pool table (which he liked using) so he could buy my brother and I PSPs for Christmas! Anyways, one of the first ever Non-Nintendo games I've played was that MHFU Demo i had mentioned earlier. IDK why but something about it was super neat. I was still a kid at the time and I did find the Khezu Monster creepy but that's probably what it was! Mario and Nintendo was so family friendly and that to see something else that was the opposite, was like a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, I hadn't owned a Nintendo Console for years so I missed out on the 3DS Titles... LUCKILY, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate released for Nintendo Switch. That was the only reason why I bought a Switch. So I could re-live the classic feel of what I had felt years prior. And Gen Ultimate gave me just that. It was like I remembered it. I apologize... I must inform the reader... I had spent hours playing Monster Hunter World on my PS4 BEFORE getting MHGU (If memory serves, MHGU released after the success of MHW). My apologies... MHW was the reason for me getting a Switch so that I could play MHGU on the Nintendo Switch... Sooooooo! Years went by and Monster Hunter Rise was announced and I fell in love INSTANTLY. While not as graphically impressive when compared to MHW (Which would be unfair given the system it was made for) it is still a neat looking game, again, given the system it was originally designed for. You'll find this funny but uh, one of the winning points for me in Rise is the PAUSE function! It's the little things in life for me! To have a MH game on Switch that takes after World is a Win my book! I know I've rambled on... but I personally enjoy both. I do think the Story in World is interesting, but in the end, just lemme at 'em! iDC what is goin' on! Let me Fight, Let me Win, Let me lose, LET ME LEARN. TLDR: I love both, and both are worth a shot. I always see MHW on PlayStation's Greatest Hits section on the PlayStation Store for 19.99 so if you got 20 bucks on you, I'd say its worth a shot! I do recommend doing your own research though, and making doubly sure it's something you'd buy (I'm not an XBOX guy so anybody whose Green, use and utilize your own knowledge)! Have Fun! Stay Safe, Be Respectful and be Courteous to your fellow Hunters, Help those who send SOS flares and GET HUNTING! But most importantly, Have Fun Guys. That's all that should matter. It's a Video Game after all!
My first Monster Hunter game had to be between Rise and World. After having tried Rise first, I decided to refund and got World, which I'm enjoying much more so far. The arcade nature of Rise and the higher mobility, even if good and "updated" on paper, left me feeling kinda out of place: I did not feel almost any sense of immersion while jumping here and there in the pretty shallow first environment (can't really say for later ones), tracking dots on a map instead of exploring/looting. It may sound a bit harsh but Rise left me this impression of being a game specifically targeted to mobile gaming. I'm even thiking I could probably appreciate it more for shorter sessions on a Switch rather than sitting in front of my pc.
I played rise like 10 hours a day when it got on pc personally. The arcade-y ness speaks to the part of me who adores fast paced insane and quick on your feet combat dance, the doom eternal, ultrakill, or whatever part of me. it's not really like I'm not aware I'm actively playing a game with world anyway, and I'm sorta tired of games trying to be too realistic or immersive.
This is why people that started with world or rise are such losers lmao no real Monster Hunter player would be as stupid as you go play a different franchise
Hi, from the time of me writing this I am a MHW newbie with so far 10 hours of experience who always wanted to get into the Monster hunter franchise but the biggest fan thing I did was just stare at rathalos photos on google. As I got MHW I had fun with its open-world and cool monsters. I was trying to get my friend to tried which he did but he accidentally got MHR instead of MHW, I decided to get MHR too so now I have both. I haven’t rlly tried MHR yet but from what I heard it’s more flashy and more into monster boss fights. I hope to have a great time with both.
I really miss MHW/I and I hope they go in this direction for the next iteration in the series. I dont care if it’s a complete clone..I know that each game has its own gimmick and they can change that up if they like. To me, the “World” of MHW was so much more alive. I’m sure if mhr was made for console it would have helped as the complexity of the areas had to be dumbed down to be able to be played on the switch. I also liked how they did the event quests in MHW. Yes, having everything available all the time is nice but it also means you can burn out more quickly. I truly hope MH6 will be similar to World.
Mainline titles always go back to simple and slow combat, look at MHGU it plays similar to Rise with it's super anime attacks but they toned it all down when World came, we can expect the same pattern for the next game then they'll go anime super attacks again with MH6 Portable.
For me, MH world is better than rise. Playing for the first time on MH world made me feel like the CGI trailers from MH3, MH4 and MH Generations. Its just so good, MH4 Ultimate was so much fun thanks to the online feature for nintendo 3DS and MH from the PSP was such a blast that playing MH World made me feel the huge nostalgia on to it.
I've ignored Rise on the switch but played it recently since it came free on game pass and had friends to play with but playing it constantly made me think of how much i liked World better with switch skills being the only thing i like so far over the other
I started with world/iceborne and after a thousand hours I did all I feel I can do. I’m going to start rise tomorrow probably. I don’t know what to expect but I like when games have side releases that are different. Let’s see how it goes n
I don't think they'll be able to match how well they did World for a long time. We do NOT need gimmicks for a good mh game, the wirebug was a massive mistake imo, and so were switch skills. In World i found myself hunting for fun, whereas in Rise i am borderline doing the bare minimum to progress to the next game stage.
I have rise on the switch and world on my ps5 I put this game down like 3 years ago (had like 120 hrs in) I’m picking it back up, been playing MH since freedom unite !
I played both and go for Rise this time. World has many interesting things that start me bothered after hundreds of hours. For example, It's not fun to look for the monsters after i while in my opinion, and even that the maps are so big. Not at the beginning but after lots of time. I really like that I can jump on a mission now in Rise, look on the map, zip with my bugs to the monster, and fight it. But I still love World too ofc
I played both. World a while ago although im jumping back into it and starting a brand new game with a new character this time around i want to use only Greatsword! Rise is my baby though, i played that game religiously during the pandemic. one of my most memorable gaming experiences. My problem with World is the movement. Rise just does everything better in that category. The wirebug is just a great mechanic worth embracing moving forward. I also like the fact that 98% of the environment is climbable! makes room for so many ambush style openings and trap placement. One thing id take away from rise however is the monster riding, while awesome it does take a lot away from the difficulty of the early game. I remember being stuck on nergigante for a hot minute in world, if i could just ride it and make it fight other monsters, it wouldve been a cake walk. If i had to choose one id pick rise but thankfully we live in a world where we can have both so theres no point in fighting over it in the youtube comments section. Peace
i love the classic, carefree MH games with the saturated colors. World has amazing graphics and a more serious tone which i really enjoyed but i always felt that something was lost in the transition, as if it was had less soul. Rise went with a very muted color palette that i personally hate and the wirebug made the game a little too ridiculous, so i ended up skipping it.
Rise have two types of monster. One that feels attached to the world colors and biome, others that are completely out of place with bombastic and unrealistic colors. I don't mind the either, but don't mix them. That fucking violet jet looking monster gives me PTSD when I see it. It's such a stupid design for an art style of a game which mimics something realistic. I know it was in older game, but it's not hard to re-work or changing colours a bit.
200 hours in Rise, 500 hours in World. Base Rise is overall totally forgettable. The only intersting part is the solo Apex monsters quest. Rampage isn't that bad, but clearly is not well design. Everything else is boring. Spiritbirds are a shitty idea, the hook take too much place in everything, every weapon feel the same now having options to guard or counter attack, burst, dash, knockdown, many have also support abilities. The story is just in the way, World was by no mean an incredible one, but at least he tried. If you don't want to put a minimal effort into it, then don't do one to begin with. Maps are messy, the only thing memorable about them is the fact you can climb mostly everywhere, everything else is just big areas designed to be natural arenas without anything interesting, except those damn spiritbirds you take. Some people talks about color, but Rise is far from being colourful outside of Kamura itself. It feels really muddy and grey most of the time. So I'm totally in the favor of a realistic approach like world, with less shiny colors, but natural ones. I'm not even talking about difficulty, kinda pointless. But, I will definitely say, even if there is not a lot of new monsters, outside of the izuchi, they all are really cool. Sunbreak is a bit better. Followers is one of the best idea of any monster hunter. The whole story is still totally garbage and get in the way for nothing, but at least, it is a bit more cinematic this time. New maps are... well. A rework of an ancient and the new one doesn't really give you any new biomes. Kinda the same for the jungle. They don't really feel necessary at all. At least, spiritbirds are better placed this time. New monsters are okay. None of them really stands out honestly, outside of their design. Their fight are boring (Garangolm, Gainsmagorm), too similair to an older entry of world (Lunagaron, and his second moveset in "werewolf" is really not good), and or too basic for an elder (malzeno). The end game monsters are cooler, tho. The qurio anomly system is good on paper, but shitty on execution. It's an endless farm of boring monsters, with inadapted system to multiplayer. Thanks to the followers, they save a bit the mess. I really don't see anything that would make this game and it expansion better than World / Icy. Not even clutch claw. Less identity, not anything comparable in term of polishing, the story doesn't tell anything outside of evil monsters must be slayed (where World has a big thematic about how ecology works and why humans are a part of it). Weapons are less entertaining, too many options kills the identity at some point. The palamute is useless except for totally removing the need to think to when using items, etc. But, that being said, they are still monster hunter formula, and none of them are bad by any means. They are good games, but compared to the ambition of World? Like comparing an ant and an elephant. I will play here and there Sunbreak now, but this game just gave me the need to return to play world on a new character with a new weapon. Ah and on the difficulty aspect, playing lance, nothing has been able to stand in my way. But I'm not sure if the game is really too easy, or if it's just because I'm good with my experiences. I imagine it's both.
As a somewhat new fan of Monster Hunter that started with World and recently completed iceborne, I’m willing to give Rise a shot. It’s currently $10 on steam right now and I have a friend that likes it. And hey it’ll keep me busy till Wilds comes out!
After giving it some time, it’s a fun game but definitely feels inferior to World. I don’t regret my purchase though, I like it enough to keep playing it!
Key factor missed, and I think it gets a tie as both games have really bad downsides: the lobbies/matchmaking. World has a way better lobby system, and being able to see what quests you can jump into is a massive QOL rise doesn't have, plus the sieges were lotta fun in world when you enjoy multiplayer, BUT the massive downside is you can't progress together with your friends because of cutscenes. Rise on the other hand lets you jump into any quest without the need to see a cutscene to enable multiplayer, but not being able to see what join requests you can jump into is just stupid and very impractical.
Soundtrack should have been another to include. It was a big part of Rise and gave it atmosphere. That said world had cut scenes that separated itself aswel
In my opinion I knew nothing about Rise before it released but I remember being STOKED for World when it was announced. World is by far better in my opinion.
Gonna dodagree in the monster point. As a long time fan, world plays mostly safe in monster archetypes, where rise gace us the most unique monsters and animations, movesets we have ever seen
for me wirebug was a massive negative . took away from the scale of the monsters when you are flying above them so much, made me feel like mine craft creative mode flying and floating around the place. also it took away the shape of the maps alot as you could just go straight in almost any direction.
Why do you care more about feelings than functional gameplay quality? Wirebug contributes nothing but positive gameplay potential to the game, and is essentially optional at that.
I've played all the monster hunter games. From the first one until Rise. Of all the games, MH World gave me that feeling of amazement the first time I played it. It's so immersive, it's like discovering a whole new world. Rise didn't give me that same feeling. I think they made it primarily for the Nintendo switch. It felt like it's missing something. In my opinion, it's MH World > Rise
I wish I could get my friends to play monster hunter with me , they all complain that there is no health bar and how the weapons don’t feel like they “do any real damage “
I started in World so I have very strong bias and for me that is what a true MH game should be like. I have only just bought and started playing Rise, which felt very weird to me but from what I can tell it seems to be purposely smaller and faster pace than World. For awhile, I didn't to play Rise as it looked too different and I felt annoyed about the devs no longer supporting World, so I was resistant at first. But now I am playing Rise, I have to say it is a fun game and plays as well as feels totally different to World to the point I would not compare them at all, the experience is too different.
I love world, i also love RNG so i prefer the decoration farm more than the not so difficult talisman grind, World just has everything you could ask for. Also i just find Rise so be really easy, i dont know if its just the wirebug to blame for this, i think its a couple things, rise is just so forgiving on mistakes, whereas in world, if you made a mistake you go "OH SHI" because you know youre about to pay for what you just did. If the wirebug type mechanic comes back, they really need to compensate the monsters accordingly. I do think the next world title is going to be insane though and is going to elevate MH series yet again to the next level (as long as the endgame grind is good) i think decoration grinding kept players more engaged and for longer than the talisman grind did.
I've tried on multiple occassions to get into Rise but it just hasn't resonated with me yet. Maybe that'll change in the future but right now it's a distant second to World. I do however, miss the mobility of the Palamute when navigating the map.
World feels more like a complete game, whereas Rise seems like a revive of the simple arcade-like grinding style of the series. The monsters in world are also A LOT better, and the intros are infinitely better than the trash corny Rise intros. Monster Hunter isn't just about the hunt, but also about the Monsters.
I'm a new player to both and i tried them both (10 hrs currently in world/ 3 hrs rise) i honestly can't believe there is a comparison, I'm sorry but Rise seems like a mobile game to me.
Right? It feels like a boss rush game. You just go in, kill the monster, get loot. Rise is just too combat-focused. While World made you feel like you're actually hunting something that's alive.
You forgot about the character aspect -1 point just for the handler in mhw and 1 point to mhr for having characters with names that actually do something apart from staying in base all day long (sadly in rampages)
Why they don't just make a straight up ps5/xbox game I will never know like mhw was a hit on last gen they should have had a game ready when ps5 launched
Playing both on my steam deck is awesome. Rise is better with mount. It even can climb the vine. Easy to go around the map... Always begin bos fight with running jump dismount attack from my fenrir. Still play all from the 1st MH on my psp.
I've only started the monster Hunter series a few months ago and while I know I don't know everything here's what I've observed at least, I'd like to say I'm maybe halfway through rise and I'm a good way into the DLC story for world, world's hub feels so much more alive and and heavily founded, the areas feel a lot larger and more highly detailed, the base game roster felt so much better at roughly the same points within each game comparatively, I liked the art style for both and the subsequent monster introductions worked well for each game, even your player characters room had a lot more customization in world than in rise, I liked using the footprints and claw marks and other field anomalies or tracks left by the monsters as a way to develop finding them easier as opposed to just already knowing where all of them are and just selecting the one you're going after to figure out exactly which way you need to go, the combat and map traversal feels very good mechanically in rise, I main a switch axe and it's crazy how much I move around with it now, I like the new rampage mode in rise that's pretty fun, I don't like how they changed the monster catching mechanic in rise because I'm used to in world being able to capture any monster as long as it wasn't an elder dragon and then turn around a few quests later and have access to a special arena quest where I can just go into the arena and fight the monster but now it seems like in rise they have a few set arena challenges in missions for you to do as opposed to just being able to arena fight although monsters you've been trying to in the first place that you don't get to now
it was never the same with mhr after I played world. I played hundreds of hours on mhw while I only finished mhr and put it down. I didn't even bother to grind an endgame set in mhr unlike in mhw I was having fun grinding.
I tried Monster Hunter World several times without finding anything to hook me to the game. I thought the concept was really cool but disliked the time it took just to follow a monster to the next location after it ran away. I also disliked how it was not intuitive for me what to do to be well prepared for a hunt without looking up tutorials. For whatever reason, I found Monster Hunter Rise to be much more intuitive and a much better entry to the series because of its simplification and added convenience across many features. The palamute and wirebug made traversal during hunts much quicker and more enjoyable for me. Also, the smaller hub made the pre-hunt preparation feel much less overwhelming and much more natural to hit everything before going into a hunt. Not to mention that recruiting palicos/palamutes and sending them on missions was a welcome addition that made me imagine the world as more expansive even though you only visit specific areas yourself in a MH game. This is not to say that MHW is not a great game. I eventually found myself returning to MHW and having a blast with it; it’s just that I don’t feel like I would ever have been able to do that without first trying MHR, the much less overwhelming game. I understand why people would dislike the feeling of oversimplification of MHR from MHW, but it made it the perfect entry into the series for me, and I’m grateful for it.
I’ve never been able to get into world for some reason. I’ve tried multiple times combat just seems slow to me. I had no problem logging over 300 hours into Rise and am very excited to give it another go on PS5. Pretty sure World is a good game but I just can’t get into it.
In my perspective Rise is preferred by the Freedom Veterans for it has that nostalgic norm feeling, New whatsoever, new mechanics, but a strong sense of deja Vu from past games World is preferred for the Hunters that want to leave the norm behind and move onto the extreme
Basically Rise is the Switch (aka mobile) version. That's why it looks so off, subpar and actually feels like a premium mobile game. Tested on pc game pass and was befuddled because I remembered World being so much grander.
I grew up on MH. I didn't play all of them, but my favorite pre-world would be Freedom Unite. The content and gameplay all have a simple yet demanding quality to them and I really did enjoy the expectation to plan ahead. Not that that's the way I think MH should have always been, but I like it in it's own way when compared to World and Rise. First off, I like both World and Rise. I played Rise on release (haven't done Sunbreak yet, because time), but I just started World a week or so back and am a considerable way through the base game. I loved Rise a lot. I didn't care for streamlined or arcade-y aspects a ton, but I'm willing to try something new. I try to give things their fair shake and after a while I learned to like what Rise did in it's own way. Rise feels a lot quicker and so doing quests on the go is a good fit. That said, it still felt like MH at the end of the day. Compared to World some things felt better, some things felt worse. The wirebugs were amazing though. Again, like my love of Freedom Unite, it's not like I think that this is how all MH should be, because each gen seems to do it's own thing (like with tri and the water gameplay). That said, I've found myself missing the wirebugs when I went to other games. Playing world I would find a cliff, or a small drop followed by some vines, and strongly desire to swing across it. I like the more 'grounded', on foot, gameplay as well, but the wirebugs bring a feeling that the other MH games just don't have and for that it will always have a unique appeal to me. And on the quicker nature of the game, to be honest, it's easier to get into than other games. It's not better or worse inherently, but sometimes, not always, but sometimes I want to play MH without spending half an hour planning before even getting into a quest. For World, when I first saw the graphics, it was what I had always dreamed for MH. To get something that looked that incredible. To make it clear, graphics aren't everything, sure, but it's nice. I like when things look good. Art direction and graphical fidelity go hand-in-hand, and when they line up, you get something awesome. That said, I didn't play World until now-- I played a demo way back, but it's hard to count that now. Most of it was because the streamlined nature of it felt odd at first. Like how it felt like most elements were taken care of for you. Whetstones being an example. I liked packing away 20 on my own, even if it's effectively busywork when compared to rise and leaves you with one less pouch slot. After playing World for a good while now I can say that that's not much of a concern for me now. Again, I like the older games for what they were, but World doing things differently doesn't bother me, especially since it still hold the core DNA of what MH is about, at least to me. It's not like it holds your hand and gives infinite ammo or bombs or whatever. My big, big issue with World is the same as the thing I loved about world. The graphics and world density/readability. I like that the forest is so lush and dense and... Well, feels like a forest of sorts. It's cool. Maps being so vertical is pretty cool as well. But unlike every other MH game, I've found myself very frustrated at trying to get from one zone to another to join my team in a fight. This is after, like, 20 hours or so-- not on the same map obviously, but I'd have normally memorized the routes by then. I mean, I have a minimap, so what's the problem? It's just hard to tell what path is the one you want and will take you where you need to go. The number of times I started climbing or running in circles because I made the wrong choice in where to go. I may get used to it eventually, but the criticism is in how long that takes. I don't need big orange boxes either. It's just that with old MH, as well as Rise, it's super easy to tell what goes where, what plants are what, and what a monster is found it doesn't take me 15 minutes of running through a maze just to get there. It's not an objectively bad thing to me in particular, but it has it's frustrations. And yes, the scoutflies take you to the target, but sometimes I'm in too much of a hurry to look for them when they seemingly disappear because sometimes they can be a little hard to see. And even then when fighting something like Legiana, having to go to the top of the Coral whatever it's called is such a chore. Maybe that's more a complaint of monster behavior when you are left running back and forth just to watch them fly away somewhere else on maps as massive as World's. The no loading screen thing is great, but going back to Rise it didn't bother me much, though I do prefer World in terms of overall immersion. That said, as I've made clear, there are downsides to how World did it and I feel like not enough people mention that. Yeah, it's annoying to navigate and hard to tell what's what, but did you see that sunset? Playing them both they feel pretty similar in many ways as well, so it was easy to get used it-- minus me trying to not use wirebugs in World. On a quick note, people were saying that MH was getting easier, but to be honest, I don't need my MH to be a bullet hell that results in getting one-shot. This is a bit of an unorganized rant, and I'm sure that there are plenty of other things I could have mentioned about the games, but the point is that I like them both for different reasons. Just like how they both have their own flaws. Personally, and I've learned this some time ago, but I don't want all MH to be the same. I want the DNA to be there, for sure, without a doubt, but given how chunky these games are (mostly in a good way), I have no issue returning to older MH, or even World or Rise, in the future. I don't want MH World 2, World 3, World 4, and so on. Not that people are specifically calling for that exactly, but that Rise and World did their own thing and have their own appeal while also scratching that same itch that makes, at least to me, MH one of the best franchises. There's bound to be a MH game for someone interested in the formula. Is MH just a little too slow? Rise is great there. Want something slow and less complex while heavier on planning? Maybe Freedom 1 or 2. Something more grand and immersive? World has you covered. And I know that this is never considered a part of the mainline MH games (for obvious reasons), but MH stories 2 is actually pretty fun as a turn-based approach to MH. There are people who have written of this series just because one game didn't fit their fancy, but If I've learned anything from over the years, the next one will be different. Will it be good or bad? Only time will tell, but I don't recall any MH having turned out bad, so there's that. Well, the original is very rough, but it was the first.
I've put a little over 500 hours into Rise and I still think World is much better. In fact, I stopped playing Rise altogether because it's just a drag now, to the point where it feels cheap and generic compared to the old NH games. Everything is fast, wirebugs, wirefalls, palamute transport, base teleportation, the monsters all have anti-counter moves and delay attacks. All this make Rise feel cheap and generic, devoid of any MH soul. World, while it's different than the old MH games it still retains that MH soul and feel. Rise just feels like a cheap action game, that's it.
It took you 500 hours to find out its not what you liked? Who hurt you? You cant say the game has no soul when you put in 500 hours. It took your soul buddy.
@@WillParker322 not what I said kid and nobody hurt. You children need to stop repeating the same 'who hurt you' every time you read something you don't agree with.
@@tigerex777 facts are you played for 500 hours till you finally realized it was cheap and generic. Theres nothing that i dont agree with, those were facts. And the whole who hurt you isnt a catch for things you disagree with, its for calling people out on their logical fallacies. I was playing Dauntless and i decided the grind doesnt equal the time, multiple people in a raid makes the beasts spam more, only a couple enemies for the first couple islands, and after a while you dont get exp for taking down beasts. I played for 25 or so hours. I didnt need another 400 hours to realize this. I might go back and put a little more time in, but im not going to keep lying to myself till the point im that invested.
@@WillParker322 it seems like the phrase "who hurt you" applies to you. If you re-read my post it says that I played so much that it started to become a drag. Perhaps if you used your logical thinking head a little you could have deduced my comment to mean that I played so much of it that it started to drag and become repetitive because of these new action-filled mechanics. But you took it as If I said that it took me 500 hours to find out it was bad? Listen you gotta use logical thinking a little more son. It is entirely possible for a person to play for a long time and down the line start to get bored of it. Nobody said I hated the game throughout the whole 500 hours I spent on it. Is this really that hard to process? I mean the fact that I have to write it out for you. Don't get so hurt because someone got bored of a game you seem to enjoy.
@@tigerex777 haven't even played it yet i was talking about Dauntless. You never said anything about new mechanics. You stated a couple of the same issues as many others, faster mobility around the game environment and battles and the speed of gameplay being quicker. How am i supposed to conclude that newer updates are the reason for the game bocoming this way if you never state it? Not my job to extrapolate that from your complaints about it when you didnt give enough context. And you're right, no one said you hate the game, you dont like it anymore after 500hrs. Not everyone has put 500 hrs into the game and knows all the update lore.
To me who started MH with Worlds, Rise felt significantly inferior. I still enjoyed it a lot though. But I really hope MH6 is designed with more powerful consoles in mind rather than being held back by trying to cater towards handheld.
I think they're both good but i personally prefer world, i like it more bc i find it more immersive, like actually trying to find something to hunt, find the clues and that,i think that's dope
100% world
so for a player to get into this game you suggest going world instead of rise? looking for something refreshing, i been palying that epic games game. Dauntless
Rise is good too and add new mechanics , i enjoy both but for me world was better
@@mercenario3968 thank you, i might try both. xbox pass has it for free also trying out wild hearts atm but i dont know all bout that game. the combat isnt really that satisfying with just light and heavy attacks.
Is it true world is more immersive because you have to actually look for these monsters where in rise its straight forward just the combat is maybe better?
i saw rise on game pass. it was fun. i then tried world. liked it more.
World = cinematic monster Hunter
Rise = arcadey monster Hunter
More mh is always good. Just enjoy which ever you enjoy, and if you enjoy both then your life is enriched two-fold.

I love comments like this. Seriously saves me time
World was my first MH game and I fell in love with it almost immediately, the game and biomes just feel alive and while I like Rise it just doesn't feel as rewarding to play and it feels like a lot of the charm World had was purposefully removed from Rise.
Only rise got more charm and is more rewarding to play then world you graphics Andy’s are funny with these crying comments 😅
agreed
@@cb6667 Where did I mention graphics in my comment? The problems I have with Rise have nothing to do with how the game looks.
@@Defa_Noob My problem is that each new monster you faced, they had a cutscenes for it to show the dangers of these monsters. Not only that but they made it feels natural, it truly was a world
@@cb6667 you seem more whiny than the other guy...
I wanted to experience the old monshunt multiplayer, which one should i get? 🤔
@@bimomuzakki9379 Monster Hunter Freedom Unite,
Yea designing a game for the switch is disgustingly weak for the price.
MHGU everything was compact because the game could not run massive towns 😂
Paintballs and Marking was reloved in favor of finding tracks and eventually just auto locating the monster when you find enough tracks of a monster.
This is what I hope they do with Wilds
@@titusgray4598 they already confirmed the malamute aspect, although they won't be palimutes they'll be those lizard things which I find really cool

Rise removes that
Good thing they announced MH wilds 😎

Rise was developed for switch, world was developed with stronger hardware in mind... Rise is dope because i can play it anywhere on my switch.
You can do that with Worlds too. By Using a Steam Deck for example.
@@Fluxikator yeah but i think thats not a good point. This is a console advantage not a thing for the games.
I love both games and they each have their own unique charm but the immersion of RDR2 on another level compared to MHW,lets be real.
I just don't understand what people are talking about with this, mhw feels as much of a game to me as rise does
Having played both I do slightly prefer World as I love the immersion of the maps and preferring Iceborne over Sunbreak.

+1 Having a personal mount traversal throughout the zones
World:

From pure combat gameplay perspective I like Rise better, but when it comes to immersion, world building, incentive to explore and the world just feeling more alive it's definitely World for me. Right from the get go I think the premise of being deployed to a new undiscovered world feels way better for a fish out of water narrative than being some village dude that people have to explain stuff to despite him having lived there for 20 years. That's like joining the cops and having a tutorial explaining to you what a criminal is lol.
The one thing I noticed was how meaty the sound effects made the weapons feel in world compared to rise. The impact wasn't there on the previously heavy hitting weapons like charge blade
are you fucking kidding me ? Turn on your rise volume lil bro
Absolutely 💯, world felt truly alive. The best MH game to come out so far.
Rise is still the best MH game to come out so far
When one tries to hold something under the scrutiny of comparisons, they fail to appreciate the true beauty of both.
Good word
I don’t know why but rise just felt like something was missing when I played. The combat and qol were good but the intention that went into world just didn’t feel like it was put into rise
Let me guess: you started MH with world
I think much of this has to do with graphics and technical capability. World looks better, but gameplay wise Rise is more fun imo.

World felt so clunky though, constant tiny things that just stop gameplay dead in its tracks while you wait out out the animation of recovering
@@a.garcha199 SnS : sheath weapon? Idk who that is
Even tho you're right, the sluggish pace in world id too much lol
When I hit something in world u felt it but in rise it feels weak and I can’t really feel impact of the attack i just dished out. Imo
That's literally the opposite when I hit something in world it's like I slapped them with a napkin hitting something in rise is like a took a shot of cocaine and my endorphins just got a major boost especially with great sword big boy numbers and hammer bonks
@@supersentaigen judging by your comments you must have sucked pretty Hard at world
On the part about talismans and decorations I'd give it to World, it specifically had Alpha and Beta armour sets to help you comfortably adjust your sets if you had or hadn't managed to get the decorations you wanted but when you did get your decorations you could mix and match them with different sets and you could craft talismans for the main skill you wanted and upgrade it as you played the game like an extra armour piece.
Rise's talismans are so RNG heavy that you may never get the perfect talisman for your set and if you do it may only be good for that one set and might not be useful for any other weapon, decoration crafting is mostly fine apart from sometimes needing a lot of materials if you need several of the same decoration.
I’ll say this about world, the tenderize mechanic, mantles, and deco farming made me want to kill myself
Thank you for the video, quite straightforward and fair comparisob
*One of the most important to me factors that made me choose between the two * was *game size* as well.
Nah , you have to see some speedrunner on mh rise and you will appreciate that wirebug gameplay.
12:31 ahhhhh that monster hunter portable 3rd village bgm is sooo nostalgic
I personally prefer world over rise. When I found and fought a new monster in world it felt like this big deal. Meanwhile in rise there were only 2 times I felt like that and that was with rajang and bazelgeuse.
Monster Hunter series is always nostalgic for me, I remember playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the 3ds.
11:50
I disagree.
Completely agree
dude your just dog water just dont get hit or stand back for the roar or if you cant do that get armor for it
Sounds like you just don’t know how to play lol
Okay😂🤣
Sounds like someone needs to git gud
They both have a place in my heart, if i want to have a slow and methodical experience i will go with world and if i want a more fast pace difficult experience i will go with rise, they are both great games
Agreed
strongly disagree with base game monster roster.
Rise is very similar to toukiden 2 , very stright forward , i prefer world but the new mechanics from rise is super fun
@@Benri05 MH6 will be slow and methodical with more danger and risk involved.
Ones gritty and has a die hard base, the other is colourful has wirebug and people love to hate it. Got it.
It's a little unfair to be comparing both games as World is a main game(SO much detail and work put into it), while Rise is an in between game
I've ignored Rise on the switch but played it recently since it came free on game pass and had friends to play with but playing it constantly made me think of how much i liked World better with switch skills being the only thing i like so far over the other
Its not free if you pay for a mothly/yearly subscription 😂 🤦♂️
I started with world/iceborne and after a thousand hours I did all I feel I can do. I’m going to start rise tomorrow probably. I don’t know what to expect but I like when games have side releases that are different. Let’s see how it goes n
Monster Hunter ISLAND vs Monster Hunter Spiderman.
Thought that was just me who felt that way. Agreed
@@MoguMassofart nitro goes brrr
i began with MHW and i'm grateful that there is so much fresh Monster Hunter for me to play
800 hours in rise 300 in world been playing since MH1 this is a dumb take
Lets not talk like base world wasnt one of the lamest MH games.
@@supersentaigen Don't care, it's my take. I don't think your opinion is better than mine.

I prefer World over Rise as a gunner especially for Bows.
I use the long sword in world, its feel so slow in rise. Also the insect glaives doesn't have the combo in rise as it did in world
Omg you're are absolutely right about the long sword feeling slow in rise. I thought I was just imagining that.
@@Azuma9678 mid fight i had to put ot on my back to make sure I had the long sword and not the great sword cause how slow it was.
As a long time fan, world plays mostly safe in monster archetypes, where rise gace us the most unique monsters and animations, movesets we have ever seen
risebreak hunters only eat different colored dangos while worldborne hunters eat different kinds of sumptuous meals
Rise still has denuvo, World has it removed, please reply if Rise has it also finally removed. Until then, World wins.
for me wirebug was a massive negative . took away from the scale of the monsters when you are flying above them so much, made me feel like mine craft creative mode flying and floating around the place. also it took away the shape of the maps alot as you could just go straight in almost any direction.
Why do you care more about feelings than functional gameplay quality? Wirebug contributes nothing but positive gameplay potential to the game, and is essentially optional at that.
I use the insect glaive so I spend the whole time flying around the monsters anyway lol
If I may give a suggestion, dividing the video in sections would be better to revisiting individual sections of the review
Jus realized @sooberos did that in the comments, thanks for that
I wish I could get my friends to play monster hunter with me , they all complain that there is no health bar and how the weapons don’t feel like they “do any real damage “
I got rise on switch and world on ps4, I’ve been looking for friends to play mh with me too
World is way more interesting, so much detail everywhere is ridiculous.
Monster Hunter World Vs. Monster Hunter Rise is what I need because both ar on Steam Sale and Rise costs a dollar more.
“Munsder Hunner Werld”
This guy’s Awesome
World has the handler rise wins 😂
I've tried on multiple occassions to get into Rise but it just hasn't resonated with me yet. Maybe that'll change in the future but right now it's a distant second to World. I do however, miss the mobility of the Palamute when navigating the map.
Give it a second chance, it's really good on its own. I own them both and while I do prefer world, I also have a great time playing rise on the go.
World feels more like a complete game, whereas Rise seems like a revive of the simple arcade-like grinding style of the series. The monsters in world are also A LOT better, and the intros are infinitely better than the trash corny Rise intros. Monster Hunter isn't just about the hunt, but also about the Monsters.
i hate when the monster realize the camera in rise 😂 they like doing tiktoks. better to not facing the camera

I prefer the longer hunts and immersion of world, rise is too arcadey for my liking
I've only started the monster Hunter series a few months ago and while I know I don't know everything here's what I've observed at least, I'd like to say I'm maybe halfway through rise and I'm a good way into the DLC story for world, world's hub feels so much more alive and and heavily founded, the areas feel a lot larger and more highly detailed, the base game roster felt so much better at roughly the same points within each game comparatively, I liked the art style for both and the subsequent monster introductions worked well for each game, even your player characters room had a lot more customization in world than in rise, I liked using the footprints and claw marks and other field anomalies or tracks left by the monsters as a way to develop finding them easier as opposed to just already knowing where all of them are and just selecting the one you're going after to figure out exactly which way you need to go, the combat and map traversal feels very good mechanically in rise, I main a switch axe and it's crazy how much I move around with it now, I like the new rampage mode in rise that's pretty fun, I don't like how they changed the monster catching mechanic in rise because I'm used to in world being able to capture any monster as long as it wasn't an elder dragon and then turn around a few quests later and have access to a special arena quest where I can just go into the arena and fight the monster but now it seems like in rise they have a few set arena challenges in missions for you to do as opposed to just being able to arena fight although monsters you've been trying to in the first place that you don't get to now
Monster hunter rise’s art style looks so cheap and shorty compared to MHW. Like a cheap Japanese mmorpg idk how ppl think that artstyle looks good
it was never the same with mhr after I played world. I played hundreds of hours on mhw while I only finished mhr and put it down. I didn't even bother to grind an endgame set in mhr unlike in mhw I was having fun grinding.
I played both more fun no war 👍
I like both. But have put more hours into Rise when it got a 60fps update on PS5.
Switch was just- eck
So if I absolutely loved rise, think I should give world a try?
@@jamesgorman899 I'd give MH generations Ultimate a try first before world much more fun
In my perspective
Rise is preferred by the Freedom Veterans for it has that nostalgic norm feeling, New whatsoever, new mechanics, but a strong sense of deja Vu from past games
World is preferred for the Hunters that want to leave the norm behind and move onto the extreme
I hate wire bugs
Well, the original is very rough, but it was the first.
world was so much more enjoyable for me rise felt like arena fights on small maps rather then doing missions to collect data and um hunt a monster lol
I always thought Rise's graphics and artstyle looks like on the cover box. When I saw the gameplay, it looks like Dark Souls Remastered
Completely disagree with the wire bug, it straight up ruined the entire game being able to just grapple on air and fly around.
To me who started MH with Worlds, Rise felt significantly inferior.
I still enjoyed it a lot though.
But I really hope MH6 is designed with more powerful consoles in mind rather than being held back by trying to cater towards handheld.
WORLD for the win. I love the Scout Flies, and the fact that they did away with tracking monsters completely in RISE was a dealbreaker for me.
