Welcome!
Really good tutorial on the Orion 32 and pro tools setup. I own the Orion 32 Gen 3. You gave us a bunch of gems on routing. I never knew the feature in Pro tools to commit the hardware insert record it in real time and used the hardware somewhere else in the session. That's a really good tip. I watched your other video on the Antelope Audio patchbay. Another great video. Thank you very much for putting out in depth video on these subjects. Your videos is a hundred times better than the Antelope Audio explanation on the patchbay. Thank you again. God bless
Thank you. Glad this was helpful. Make sure to share it with others who has Antelope interfaces.
Will do. Thanks again
Hey man, thank you for this video! I just upgraded to the Orion 32+ Gen 4 (from a Focusrite 8PreX), I work with Pro Tools as well. I seriously needed a jump start for the Orion routing software and this was just what I needed to get started. You rock! Cheers.
You’re welcome. Happy to help.
Super helpful video. I want to transition to mac/pro tools with hardware inserts and also I have a summing mixer and this video was just the ticket.
Awesome happy to help
A million thanks for this video and the work put into it. Just bought the thing (working with Pro Tools) and I am still just 50-50 whether to keep it or not. Sounds fantastic but it almost breaks my enthusiasm for making music. Like you, I use analog summing and analog inserts so I am obviously after the high I/O count. Having worked with Pro Tools hardware previously I am spoilt with the Low Latency Monitoring. I know there are ways to get around that in the Orion as well but I am not sure that the Orion will reside in my studio long enough to sort it out. May I just transmit a small wish that you make a video on that specific subject as well? Or refer me to any already available info? Cheers.
You’re welcome. You should check the Orion console video. It has in it how to route to the mixers which would give you near zero latency.
Fady, can you make a video about you issue with the 512 buffer? that will be help full
What do you need to know about that issue?
Hi just how looks when your setup when this happened, just if you can, is a big issue, thanks again bro
Great info! Keep it coming!
Thank you.
Is there a track count limit if you don´t have an HDX card connected to the Orion?
Can I go thunderbolt directly into the computer and get all available channels to the interface?
Could you explain more what do you mean ?
@@fadygergis do i need an HDX card to run pro tools with Its full track count or can i skip the card and be totally happy with the antelope Orión 32… are there limitations with this combo? I Hope I’m clearer and Thank you!!
@@juansosarosell you mean running 128 I/O in protools?
@@fadygergis i probably won't be needing more than 32 I/O during tracking, I’m just wondering if there’s a limit in playback voices if I don’t have an HDX card in betweet the Orion and Pro Tools.
I’m about to purchase my system so the question is if you recommend getting an HDX card or íf you find it unnecesary. And if you have any Issues with latency while tracking.
Thank you!
@juansosarosell then you are set. Your 32 I/O will be covered.
Do you already have Orion or are you purchasing one?
I'm wondering if you have any ideas to why Studio One is only picking up 24 i/o's using USB ? In the Orion control panel it shows 32 Line in and outputs, but only 24 Daw i/0. I tried changing the settings in the Orion control panel from 24 to 32 and it switches back as soon as I click it. I did use the supplied thunderbolt cable, but it had a usb adapter for the end of it. Do I need an actual USB cable?
I would start first by trying a good quality USB cable with zero converters.
In your pro tools showing 32 In / Out . Would you please to tell me , 64 I/O is possible , on pro tools , for orion 32+ gen 4 with thunderbolt?
When you use thunderbolt it will show 128 I/0 not just 64 with the Gen 4
The max 512 buffer size issue is a huge deal breaker on this unit. Does the Galaxy 32 has the same issue or is the number of I/Os different??
No the galaxy doesn’t have that issue. Because it’s only 64 I/O instead of 128
But I believe Antelope is working on an update to fix that issue.
I am curious did they ever fix the 512 buffer size?
Not to my knowledge. I know they are working on it.
@@fadygergis Thank you for the quick reply. I am am in need of more IO and I am currently using a RME Fireface UFX III. I am looking for options and unsure if using Ferrofish would be a good option. You have any suggestions on how I can expand the RME or do I need to start from scratch?
@@braxal6983 yes absolutely ferrofish the one that had Madi would be a great option to add more I/O they have one with 16 channels and one with 32 channels.
@@fadygergis You think there is any concern over the Ferrofish pulse 16 MX when it comes to the converters? It appears the Pulse 16MX has been on the market for many years.
Also , would you please to compare gen 3 and 4 ?
You mean in routing and Protools setup ?
@@fadygergis in your pro tools I/O windows I see 32 input and output .
My pro tools ultimate with hd native is 64 i/o in same page . Would you please to tell me , when We uses orion 33+ gen 4 with thunderbolt , how much i/o is available on pro tools ? 32 or 64 ?
When you use the Gen 4 in thunderbolt you will actually see 128 I/O and not 64.
