2008-2014 Mazda2/Demio FMVSS 301 Rear Crash Test (50 Mph)

- A 50 Mph, 70% overlap rear crash test.
Result: Pass - No Fuel Leak.
This is a test on the fuel system to ensure there is no fuel leakage in a high-speed rear-end collision. There is no instrumentation in the dummies. - Авто та транспорт
No fuel leak, but anybody in the back seats would’ve had a really bad day.
An2nio Productions
They need to put like a fucking block to keep the structure of the trunk
macmedic892 also in a rear ender like this it would be a 3+ car pileup so imagine all the front end damage to it as well... it would be a bad day for anyone driving this.
@@antoniojmonetti Look at all other cars in the same test. This is unacceptable.
and probably the last
no tomorrow anymore
This is one of the few nice-looking new cars that I would buy new or used. Just based on aesthetics this is the only 'cool' subcompact car.
Didn't expect that driver seat to recline all the way down like that
It has a nice design for 2008, not even outdated
2010 model has cool interior design
People you want to die please place them in the back: would of loved a dummy in the back
I love how in the photos at the end the exhaust pipe is just chilling there like 'what happened'
Just goes to show that modern cars are designed to be safe while running into things, not being run into.
This one is clearly not safe
They are designed to pass standardized crash tests, not tobe safe in an actuall crash. Euro NCAP should include rear collision tests if they want car makers to step up their game.
Just buy a sedan, more crumple zone
I have a Mazda 2 But when I saw the results I sold it... to my friend
That was high speed and a for a car that size that is acceptable
@@dzulemryl
What you just said was the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard, everyone that read this is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points and my god have mercy on your sole
@@staasinnovations2126 Soul.
😂😂😂you hate your friend
Sold it to your "friend "?
I wish it showed the rear seats.. Yeahhh I know it's a test for Fuel Leak.. but would still be kinda cool.
What terrifies me is the front seat snapping backwards?!? We have removed the back seat rest so thank God nobody rides in the back ever.
Anyone sitting in the left rear seat would be killed.
But everyone else would not burn alive. Point is to measure if a fueal leak would occur.
I always love sitting in the left rear seat so I'm dead
Why not right seat
@@georgiadawgs2778 beacuse I feel uncomfortable there
@@georgiadawgs2778 You know that a car could crash on both sides, right? That has to be one of the most stupid comments I've ever read.
That is a shockingly poor structure. You wouldn't even accept that of a thirty year old Hyundai.
Mia Tand I’ve seen 60s steel bumper cars do better than this garbage...
Hyundai’s and Mazda’s are different they aren’t the same company. Kia and Hyundai are. But Kia is surprisingly more reliable than them and is next to Nissan with reliability.
FazeTug nissans reliability is terrible though
@@vegasbab.y3740 thanks. I was aware and did not suggest they were. Hyundai and Kia still have a stigma here in Aus even though they are as good if not better than cars with a fansical over glorified reputation such as mazda who make very overpriced, troublesome and inferior cars. Mazda get away with stingy value, cheap materials, numerous recalls, Chinese made parts and low safety levels. I infered that if Hyundai(Kia) made cars with problems, there would be an outcry. Hope that helps you understand my prior comment. Cheers.
Hyundai is great.e
Talk about crumple zone 😂😂
Mario Torrez Quant Yes my soy boy
I call shotgun!
Oh no.
Well the thing is my mom used to own one in grey with the automatic trans back when i was 7 or 8. Thank god we didnt get rear ended or this comment would not exist. One single well placed crash and probably i would have been turned into mush...
Damn.
Interesting test , no fuel leak but wouldn’t want to be sat in the back of that vehicle!
Our whole life consists of good or bad moments. You can walk down the street and take a brick from the roof on your head.
In a real collision like this, I think the rear passengers may die. I don't think anyone can survive such a serious accident!
Wow this is my Car
Wow!
No fuel leak or something like Deadly pit of fire same as the exact Ford Pinto
Ouch.
No fuel Leak but the rear end Folded up like a soda can.
I've actually been in the back seat of one of these.

Hey!
Like you actually despawn
I ain't sittin' my ass back 'dere!
1:40 u can see the driver and front passenger head hits the rear seat headrest, also the crash could break the rear passengers spine or smash their legs, that car is a coffin
a 500 held up way better that's pathetic for a 2008 car
Despite the size difference. They both weigh about the same the fiat actually probably weighs more.
The passanger at the back seat seen better day
If that was video game. I'd say drivable.
日本も後面衝突試験の動画を公開してほしい。
数少ない日本人だ
Strong A-pillars, weak C-pillars. GG Euro NCAP...
The person at the back seat would die only from head on collision with the driver because after the hit the drivers head moves back to make sure the passenger is dead
"POST-TEST" No, really? Never would've guessed it...
Why can't iPhone screens be made out of what ever that Mazda badge post crash is made from
Crazy bad.
If it has airbags for rear crash it could be safer
1:43 The seat snapped and the dummy fell on the rear seat
Why anyone would want to buy compact cars like these is beyond me. Life is more important than saving money on gas.
and by the way, cars are bought by everyone for their own goals and objectives. Leaving the house is not a fact that a brick will not fall on you, but you go out without a helmet? Life is a series of successes and failures .
No car is safe
8/18/2011
This is why small hatchbacks are death traps they did a similar one in Europe on a mk6 Golf that had bad results for backseat passengers.
people un the back of the car are dead or with bad injuries un his back forma all life :(
Rear seat can't be sat
Oh yea! Everybody will walk away with some minor injuries. *sarcasm*
Thats a standstill test, any car being hit by that beast would be in ruins!
Dome cars do fine. Check the VW bettle and the AUDI A4 the rear window does even break the glass.
If anyone can be at the back seat of that car it is never safe
if the front seats didnt collapse
It’s not that bad, but a bigger car is still better
後席の、ドアがやばいことになっとるw
No inventes!!!Se hace como mantequilla!!!
Coupe 😁
People - are you idiots or are you kidding?! It's a subcompact car. This does not mean that she is terrible. There are millions of drivers in the world who drive without a seat belt and everything is OK)))
Compare this to a 1998 VW Beetle. German cars are the best 👌🏻
It’s wise to habitually check your rear view mirror and maintain a good gap in front whilst at a standstill.
Unfortunately too many fail to take responsibility for their own lot, and foolishly depend on the perceived safety of their vehicle.
I’ll take a quick and nimble “small” car over a sluggish “yacht” any day. Big cars are indulgent, inefficient, overrated, and overpriced.
so bad!!!! look at the back structure
It looks like a pea..
Now compare this with an xc90 you get what you pay for I’ll get an xc60 for my first car over any of these death traps.
VW Beetle > Mazda 2
That's horrible
Overall evaluation poor
4/10
Typical Mazda!!! Death traps, I've seen this so many times on the roads
Terrible
Weak and dangerous👎
Booo. Propaganda
Smaller Fiat 500 did better
Smaller but a little heavier.
Put those cars in correct place... ...a bin.
Get a Tesla. They are designed to protect. Rear passengers and all. Other manufactures build to pass tests and since rear blunt force trauma isn’t measured, they could careless in building to protect against that. Even newer cars would fail this test. GET A TESLA!!!!!
An electric car is like sex with out the noise though and most people can't afford teslas because we aren't rich like you
You are missing the point,
A. Tesla doesnt produce either an Econobox or a Hatchback compact. Teslas are not even the safest cars in the road and the NHTSA called them out on there bullshit. The kind of people that buy a Tesla dont overlap with the kind of people that would buy this or a corolla.
B. Most Hatchbacks struggle in this test due to the fact there is no space for a crumple zone. Sedans on the other hand have the trunk.
C. Ofcourse blunt force trauma is measured. Why do you think we came up with crumple zones and seatbelts and airbags?.
TruAgape1234 my vibe that came out of the same plant as those shitty Teslas, and it has better fit and finish that the poorly built Tesla’s, I’ve been in two and one had a rattle in the dash any speed over 50, with ONLY 3,000miles. The other had electronic problems with the seats. My Vibe is almost 13 years old and it has no rattles even at 75!
That's why I would buy a Volvo. They're basically street legal tanks.
I'm was thinking to get one because its environmental friendly
electric cars drop 0% of co2
