Thank you Rachael! Your very educational and informative! I have had an aquariums since I was ten years old constantly. That is going on 43 years. Ive always had a fresh water community tank. And a 120 gallon tank with lionhead, Ranchu, and red cap oranda's. But in the last year Ive learned a ton of things from you I've never known. Thank you for a wonderful vlog, I also like Joey from King of DIY. You both are leaders in the industry.
Hey Rachel - I've mentioned several times previously how you have transformed the hobby for me. This video will add even more to my Pleco skills. More than anything it's just plain making me look bad. "Clompy" especially thanks you for the continued expansion of his meal choices.
I'm so glad you posted this! I needed a refresher on this. People seem CONFUSED ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE IN THE REPASHY LINE OF PRODUCTS. I've used it for all of those things. Soilent Green stinks way worse than super gold to me. But I probably stink. ♥️
Wow,how have I not seen your videos before now?!? I’m a fanatic about nutrient dense foods for myself and my animals, and don’t know very many people who can relate to my desire to keep things species appropriate and free of fillers and garbage. I feed predominantly live and frozen foods, but a grazing option that’s quick and easy for busy days is a must. In Canada it’s harder to get certain things(like repashy),but I’m going to try and get my hands on some. Very happy to have found this. Thank you🙏🏻❤️
Perfect timing! I've been trying to figure out how to add new foods into my rotation that the amanos can't run off with so my plecos can get more food. Gel foods for the win! Loving pleco month!
This food is absolutely amazing. And can be added dry for new born fry. You can also put it on rougher rocks. And I love the mini silicone ice trays to make cubes of this in advance.
I've been using Repashy Bottom Scrapers for several weeks. My Plecos, Corys, and Snails love it. Of course all the mid and upper water column fish make their way down for samples. Great product, making life easier and fish healthier. What's not to like...
This is wonderful to see. I just started watching you this week. I am new to the hobby. I just got some Otocinclus. I'm worried about them because they are getting thin. I put some soilent green repashy in the tank on some rocks. The guppies are piggies and go for it right away but my Otocinclus don't touch it. Do you have any ideas on what i can feed them? I don't want to be a horrible hobbiest that lets my Otos die. Thanks!

Love Repashy grub pie for my community fish. My bn pleco didn't take to the bottom scratcher, have to try the green and the tile or wood. Thanks for the info.
That’s so cool, I think I’m gonna buy some of that stuff… Was thinking what if you used a bunch of different size bottle caps and let it cool inside so you have smaller caps for smaller tanks larger capslarger tanks… But thank you so much for the video . I would also think it would help if you have bigger fish in the tank that would normally eat it all and not let the little guys or grazers get a chance

I know it is off topic but how many Silver Tip Tetras would you recommend for a planted heavily filtered 90 gal aquarium. I plan on it being a single species with Malaysan Trumpet Snails, Ramshorn Snails and a pair of Bristle Nose Plecos.
Hello Rachel, do you have a list of which repashy you feed to which fish? Or maybe they have one on their site I didn't look yet :) Also was curious if this is the only food you feed them? Thanks much for the videos :) Loving the videos of the plecos I think I need me a book of them all lol. I almost forgot to ask what is the fish at 22:38 top right on the rock alone? Looks like a tiny pleco kind of.
I don't have a specific list. Each of the formulas says what sort of diet it replaces and choices can be made that way., or by looking at the ingredients. The fish at 22:38 is a Gastromyzon viriosis- a hillstream loach.
For the unused repashy cubes, after putting it into the freezer to keep them. Do you have to let it thaw before you put it in the tank or can you put it in frozen for the fish?

Will having these in the tank with my Plecos prevent the plecos from breeding? I only have cardinal tetras and in there besides that.

How often should we feed bristlenose plecos? And is morning wood the best for bn plecos? Also I have a male pleco that won't come out of his log, does that mean he is looking after eggs? He started doing this a week or so ago
I feed them a few times a week with the repashy. I like the soilent green mixed with morning wood for them (the morning wood has cellulose and more binder, so makes a "thicker/stiffer" formula which holds put better for the bigger grazers. Your male sounds like he is likely on eggs- congrats! You should see wigglers soon. You can try and spy wiht a flashlight
Great video, do female BN have any bristles? I bought a mating pair (LFS said so) and both have bristles. I bought 2 more later for another tank and they are without bristles (about 2" long). Might have to drop them all in a separate tank and see what happens. Thanks.
Hey rachel what are the schoolers you put in your 150g hillstream? They don't look like the white clouds and rainbow shiners you initially put in there. More like CPDs and denisoni barbs/roseline sharks but CPDs ar tiny and denisoni barbs are huge so it can't be right. (Or is it the just lighting?)
I would think so.. Keep in mind, if you wanted to add something like frozen bloodworms or pureed fish/shrimp/etc to the mix, you could as well, you just may need to increase the morning wood for a good consistency.
I live in a hot place and I have problems keeping the tanks cool. What fish like high temps and what tips can you give on keeping the fish alive through summer.
Depence on your tank space. Most big cichlids and more fancy bigger plecos are ok with temps between 24 to 30 degrees Celsius if you have propper oxigen levels. If you have a real huge place like 600G try a small group of Cichla
I have used it that way, but its always a gamble leaving food in the tank for extended periods. That being said, i haven't foudn this stuff to fungus/foul the water.
