This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Home Free is my favorite a cappella group but Pentatonix is also extraordinary. Suggest their rendition of "Hallelujah", and for Christmas "Mary Did You Know". Both groups won their respective seasons of "The Sing Off" competition and they are good friends.
A few facts about Home Free. They are primarily known as a country a capella band, but they also do rock, pop, and gospel. Tim Foust, the bassist, also taught Geoff Castellucci how to reach low bass notes (Tim reaches a E1 on Ring Of Fire and a B0 on Boondocks). A vocal masterpiece by Home Free is Helplessly Hoping where there is no beatboxing, only 5 vocal parts, it's incredible. Great reaction and when you imitated the "nomonica" player, it sounds like you play a pretty mean "nomonica" yourself. 👍😂🤙✌️
All are so talented. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range. He can sing lower than here and up with the tenors. Rob (glasses) was trained in opera and has a wonderful voice. Austin (high tenor here) can yodel and has lots of runs/riffs to his voice. Chance (back left) was doing the mouth harp sound and has a great voice. Adam (beatboxer) is super talented. Three of them write music as well. Helplessly Hoping, I Can’t Outrun You, Yours, Thanksgiving Song. So many good songs. Good one Emma!
Welcome to the HF rabbit hole. Lots of fantastic content, don't do "Mayday " until you're familiar with the group. A very pleasant surprise is worth waiting for.
You have some good suggestions here. If you haven’t heard “End of the Road,” I’d suggest that to hear them cover an R&B classic. Other favorites, in no particular order, and not a complete list: Blue Ain’t Your Color Sea Shanty Medley My Church Listen to the Music All About that Bass (they were much younger!) The Butts Remix (sooo funny) How Great Thou Art With Christmas coming up, Do You Hear What I Hear? and several others After you’ve watched 5-10 of their videos, watch their cover of Mayday - and prepare to be astounded by their talent all over again. Welcome to the Home Fries!
The two main singers both have musical degrees Rob on the left with glasses did his in opera performance a very good tenor before changing after graduating to country and acapella Austin did his in stage musicals with some opera sections included to help with the voice. Austin has recently left the group after more than a decade he's recently married and wants to reduce the touring and being away from home.
**** This will be a HUGH reaction for you. One of the best performances of all times. PLEASE watch this!!!!!!! Beth & Joe - I'd Rather Go Blind - Live in Amsterdam
In the beginning (most people don't hear or don't realize) there is an underlying bass line that goes.... Boooooooom... BaBoommmm quite a few times..... that is done by the bass singer... sounds like a real instrument but it's his voice.
Sound of Aboriginal "dijereedoo" is really sound of a "jaw harp": a Southern musical instrument, as they're down ina bayou v's ;Down Under! & sound is acapella, Emma!
And the one producing it isn’t the beatboxer, but instead Adam Chance (back row, left) - the last face you see in the video. While I love the video, I wish they’d featured him making the sound earlier in the video.
Like so many other reactors, you completely missed the bass dropping an entire octave after rejoining the group mid-song. You should go back and listen.
Did I hear that right? You've not listened to Pentatonix yet? Holy Cow! Girl, where have you been? Sweetie, you are in for one heck of a ride! Pentatonix is a world-famous, multi-Grammy Award-winning a cappella group of just five people. Their membership has changed once since they began, but their genius has remained unaltered. You _have to_ hear them, Dear! It's a fantastic rabbit hole to go down! Since it's the season, you might begin with ua-cam.com/video/WSUFzC6_fp8/v-deo.html from twelve years ago. The group then included the bass singer, Avi Kaplan, who has since been replaced by Matt Sallee. I almost wish I were you, so that I could experience them for the first time ... again. 😁

This song became popular from the movie - Oh Brother, where art thou ?
Christmas is coming. You will be absolutely amazed at their arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear". Stunning!
For Christmas check out Home Free's renditions of "Do You Hear What I Hear" and "O' Holy Night", among their many wonderful Christmas creations.
Home Free is my favorite a cappella group but Pentatonix is also extraordinary. Suggest their rendition of "Hallelujah", and for Christmas "Mary Did You Know". Both groups won their respective seasons of "The Sing Off" competition and they are good friends.
Two of this group recorded an opera aria (Nessum Dorma, I think)

I thought the same thing.
"Home Free - Folsom Prison Blues" is my favorite. Misty Mountains - Peter Hollens feat. Tim Foust is mind blowing how low Tim can go!!!
You will have to give their version of Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer a listen.

Sorry more than 5 octave range. Check out Tim Foust ‐ Come Go With Me. Emma not yet for I want you mind blown after Misty Mountains.
This is the song that most people react to. But Home Free has a lot more: Down to the Honkytonk, Sold, Friends in low Places etc.
Welcome to the HF rabbit hole. Lots of fantastic content, don't do "Mayday " until you're familiar with the group. A very pleasant surprise is worth waiting for.
And there are hundreds of videos to watch before Mayday.
Front singers: Rob Lundquist left side, center Austin Brown, right side Tim Foust bass machine. Back Adam Rupp beatboxer, Adam Chance singer.

"Folsom Prison Blues", & "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget"

Just subscribed with hopes for more Home Free!
Emma, you have such great reactions. You're the Home Free of reactors!
Wow, thank you!

Beth & Joe - I'd Rather Go Blind - Live in Amsterdam
First time I've heard these guys Emma. Very clever arrangement and definitely a Country vibe👍
Nice one Emma😊
did you hear Tim go an octave lower right after his solo?
Amazing group! Lovely! Thank you, Emma ❤
First singer Austin musical theater training second singer Rob opera training
They all are so good!! Tim with that very low range!

I'm 90% sure I subscribed to your first channel on this song or at least a Home Free reaction.
Beautiful
LOVE you sharing your expertise and experience. Really nice react!
Looking forward to more.

@genny5309 You're so right: Adam Chance is that unique-sounding one, & he def' deserves more credit, even singin' nearly as deep as Tim! ⭐👍
Try Helplessly Hoping, pure harmony.
I'm sure you meant to say that Geoff Castellucci is with Voice Play, not Coldplay
You may want to react to John Fogarty of Credence Clearwater Revival. They were a unique blend of rock and country, depending upon the song.
Like so many other reactors, you completely missed the bass dropping an entire octave after rejoining the group mid-song. You should go back and listen.
If you want some more accapela try The Flying Pickets. Their cover of Bob Dylan's Masters of War is next level.
Great song and reaction
You need to react to Austin Brown (in the middle with the hat & vest) & Rob Lundquist (to his right in the bib coveralls) singing "Nessun Dorma".
