Ghibli is indeed pronounced with the soft G (or J) sound here in Japan. It's written as ジブリ in Japanese, which is read as "jiburi."

I don't care what it is, I NEED more anime related videos in the future. Old 80s and 90s anime, early 2000s anime, modern anime, doesn't matter, this was great. There are tons of unique styles out there and I feel like there's so much more potential. Maybe something like a style-swap, so instead of just Garfield in the style of Totoro, we also get Totoro in the style of Garfield. Either way, I'm excited for whatever comes next.

In case you didn't know, the reason Patreon members are called Patrons is because in the olden days of classical artists like Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Turner, etc (also musicians like Bach or Beethoven, and even writers like Shakespeare) the way they could afford to spend their time making art was via Patronage, i.e. being fully funded by the wealthy families who wanted their homes decorated by the finest art of their time. I knew that Garfield was Luna before the moon was even drawn - she really nailed the shape of Luna's face. And I loved the Studio Ghibli version. Totoro is such a lovable and iconic character! I would love to see more mash ups of characters drawn in Studio Ghibli style!

At fisrt I thought you were doing garfield as Snorlax from Pokemon (with the line work) but the face gave it away 😊 Love studio Ghibli! An episode of you drawing Ghibli characters would be great, but it would be fun taking the characters and drawing them in your own styles! That would be amazing and showcase more of your styles as well.

I've only watched one of these anime, but I managed to guess all of them correctly. So clearly you guys crushed it! No surprise there.
If you read the Katakana for Studio Ghibli, and listen to how Miyazaki himself pronounces it, it's Ji-bu-ri, or Jee-blee in English. I think the hard "g" sound comes from Maserati Ghibli, and people thought that's how it was pronounced (although, that's just my guess on where the hard "g" comes from).

Loved this. I loved garfield as a kid and used to draw him lots. I've not really done anything drawing wise for years unfortunately as the wrist i broke as a kid makes holding a pen difficult, though i manage miniatures painting in short bursts, must just be a different enough grip that it doesn't hurt the wrist as much.
This said, your videos (and jazzas) have inspired me to try again when time permits. Keep up the great videos.
For the Beastars one, it’s a really good piece the pose is awesome. The thing is Garfield has that flat Persian cat face, if you would have leaned more into that it would have read as Garfield. Otherwise, love your content as usual!

This was so fun, I can’t even pick a fav! The Sailor Moon one just got me right in the nostalgia though lol. What makes it even better is that the screen cap you used is actually from the Sailor Moon S movie, where Luna is being picked up by the human guy she has a crush on. Extra layers of hilarity! 😂

Interesting, but they don’t look like Garfield. The secret to drawing Garfield is the eyes. Just copy the attached eyes with the half lids and all else can be different. Hope this helps. 😊

Ghibli can be pronounced any way. They pronounce it with the j sound in Japan but the studio has said on numerous occasions that any way of pronouncing it is fine i find saying it Gah-ibli more fluid personally
Garfield as Totoro was quite easy for me...knew it right at this point 0:55 ...I mean I've watched Totoro hundreds of times so that made me know it
Did a quick search, and it's in fact pronounced Studio Jibli. The Japanese uses the "Ji" character instead of the "Gi" character.

Can you create a D&D character from 'Bengal, India' ? (it would be really fun to have a d&d character from here and we've got tigers).
So here goes the back Story : .. A Prosperous Kingdom with a Good King. The kingdom is kind of conservative, doesn't allow outsiders to fully get involved. The Capital city has a temple at the centre, there's a jewel (crystal maybe) in that temple, and it's very important.
Invaders come - too strong to invade so fall back - sends other party as merchants - The prince of the kingdom falls in love with a merchant girl from noble family - lovey-dovey things go on, eventually Prince shows the girl the crystal - girl figures out a secret passage - steals the crystal - invaders are now able to defeat the kingdom, so they defeat it and destroy everything and loot their bounty - prince lives - he is now on a revenge mission.
Totoro!! Dude, she's referencing Hughes from Fullmetal Alchemist! Haha!

Should've drawn Otie (Odie?) as Legosi's best friend Jack (golden retriever). It'd make more sense than Haru tbh And Jack is just as much of a mc as Haru is.
