I just did

Where do you enter the code?
This was good i think Ariel really needed this one. With so many i would say 30- 40 percent pieces of hers on this channel, I feel like no one even knows what she is capable of. This was a good one. Less pieces better quality. Well played.
I agree and wanna see it more
I think after watching this, every now and then an episode with one drawing each can be a good change. It was nice to get a more involved look at the process of a single piece.
Or get some longer videos to get this involved in all the pictures!
The idea of Aang being serious for long enough to get a photograph taken, much less a portrait painted, cracked me up irl 😂😂💖 It reminds me of that episode where the gaggle of fan girls wouldn't leave him alone, and that poor portrait painter was trying to keep up with them essentially photobombing😂😂
Fun fact: some of the rich tones in those historical portraits were really expensive, and the artists would either use them as a way of showing how rich the patron was, or as an excuse to buy them for themselves 😋
Love these art facts 🙌 [Alysha]
Alysha’s much better at painting dogs than true renaissance artists!
I’m remembering all the abominations i saw the last time i went to a museum lol
Ariel really knocked it out of the park with Aang
The way Ariel painted Aang was like he was standing there for hours getting his portrait done and he's starting to lose his mind.
This is my favorite piece from Ariel by far. She absolutely captured Aang's personality and spirit. Wonderful painting!!!
With Aang I was honestly getting Joker vibes. Speaking of Joker, I would love to see him as a Renaissance Portrait.
There was a strong uncanny valley moment with Aang, but in the end, both drawing are amazing!
[Ariel] Yes there certainly was!! It had me quite worried for awhile 😱 But thank you, I’m glad you like how it turned out!
that scooby needs to be a framed 24x36.... ASAP! great job everyone!
I love how Ariel makes a story about her art. It makes it so complete and interesting!
Both the Aang's piece and Scooby-Doo's piece turned out amazing!!!! Part 2 please!
I like the idea that Aang is trying to have a serious portrait done but can’t help smiling
I always love how much story goes into Ariel's work. They say a picture is worth a thousand words- Ariel's drawing explanations always seem like she's actually writing all thousand words into the image.
Ariel, TBH, as a person with a Fine Arts degree, one of the best things to ever happen to art studies is the invention of the search engine. You found references that speak to what you want. Chef's kiss! 💖
Bumi was always one of my favorite side characters, and his original story arc, if one hasn't watched Aang's series, is a great one to start on!
HECK YEAH, I love getting to see high-effort pieces from these ladies. With their normal pace being more rapid and time-crunched, sometimes it feels like we don't get the full package of just how talented they are. I love Aang's Bumi impression 🤣
One thing you didn't touch on was the background. In many of those noble/royal portraits, the items, places, people, and symbols, etc., were telling the story of the subject's life...or adding hidden bits the artist wanted to subtly put in. It's a bit like how we know that the ghost in Scooby's portrait could be a ghost, but equally could be Old Man Jenkins. That sort of visual communication would have been much more obvious to the contemporaries of the artist and subject than to us, but often if you research the painting you can find out some pretty interesting things about that person's place and time in history.
I can see such a huge improvement in Alysha's camera performance!! She seems so much more comfortable than during their first insert art video :))). It's all so smooth now!
Thanks so much! Turns out the internet isn’t as scary as I thought. You guys have been so supportive! [Alysha]
@@insertartshowironically while reading this comment was the moment you said “you’re on the chopping block”. Yeah, definitely not as scary as first thought.
These are soooooo good! I love that we got a chance to see Ariel's skills shine - Aang turned out so amazing and captured his childish personality perfectly. Not to mention the regal Scooby and the spooky ghost *chef's kiss* Great work on these!
I love Alysha's overall style and you can very often see her experience as an artist. It seems that she is capable to pull off any request you throw at her with excellence. And today was no exception, but I must Ariel's paintaly anime style is sooooooooooooooooo cooooooooooooool and I would love to see more of it
I prefer this type of videos with a longer more polished artwork. I really like to see you guys show what you really can do without too much stress to keep up with youtubes hunger for content.
I would even watch like a monday to friday thing where monday is Alishas day (Tuesday-Morgan, Wednesday-Ariel, etc) kind of thing. But I also really like to see the back and forth of ideas so the videos would also need to have multiple hosts for sure.
Art history student here: technically Renaissance was the era of detailed paintings, full of light, sharp lines, with almost no shadows, often combined with architectural structure and one point perspective. Good example is School of Athens from Raffael. What you did is more of a baroque-ish style. Especially Scoobydoo reminded me a lot of Rembrandt.
Though i think you both really nailed the royal portrait theme!
It's interesting! I feel like in the online world, "Renaissance painting" seems to be getting borrowed as a descriptor for any & all formal post-medieval portraiture...? 🤔
That's Ariel best work so far! Great job!
Really love both paintings, but especially Ariel's! Her style is really shining with this theme, and I would love to see more similar works of hers. It reminds me a lot of traditional children's book art, which I absolutely adore, and the texture makes it really charming and also fits the theme very well.
Both paintings are amazing! I love that you did one painting each because the results are perfect and it looks like you had enough time. Please do more! I love portraits
Yep
Man, I REALLY hope we see more of this in the future with other cartoons. Maybe we can get characters like Ben 10 or Pikachu, something wild like that. I can only imagine how cool some of those aliens or other Pokemon would look in this sort of style.
i just wanna say i love your thumbnails. thats it.
I love that you did scooby doo. He looked amazing, especially with the ghost ! My fav cartoon of all time! I would love to see the other characters done in the same way 😊.
Ariel always knows the best questions to ask!
This channel is just so much fun, and I hope you guys feel the same. I'm glad the team has grown so that, as individuals, you will be less likely to be overwhelmed and end up burnt out. I've been watching since the very first video, and I'll be sticking with you guys!!❤
These paintings need be on merch
I’d love to see The Powerpuff Girls painted
I love how narrative-driven Ariel's pieces are - I think that counts as part of her style!
Aang turned out awesome!
I'd like to see fantasy characters drawn in a sci-fi/tech upgrade style.
My favourite artwork from Ariel so far 🎉
Yes, one of the best videos yet. It's really nice to see the both of you put in a lot of time and effort on one piece. Exactly what I've been waiting for, keep it up.
Like zoinks man, Scooby Doo getting some love. My favorite as always.
wow, really fantastic stuff Ariel, happy you got the time you needed
Thank you for giving love to Scooby!! He gets gipped all the time
That is so disturbing how much it ticks my mind when the main character is watching the wrong way 🤣
Scooby should have a ruff under the name tag.
Quality over quantity. Yes!
The people have spoken and they shall receive 🫡 [Alysha]
I love when you all focus on one piece, really taking your time to work the project
I really like this format! One cool and detailed work is more appealing to me than a lot of less detailed works
19:47
Ang looks awesome. Fantastic
I Love Ang! You nailed it!❤
9:34
Great Scooby Doo. Love it.
I love the scooby painting!
This was amazing guys! Alysha takes me back to being a kid and my dad showing me Scoob. And Ariel took me to my 20’s and thinking I’m enjoying this cartoon way too much for my age. Thanks guys!
I love how these turned out. I wish I could make art like this.
Can I just say I’m so happy that your Scooby didn’t have his ears docked. 💜💜💜
Thank you for noticing! It’s super uncommon and frowned upon here in Australia 😊 [Alysha]
Both of your art looks so good in the renaissance esque style!
GIRLS!! Omg you did great! I absolutely love both pieces!!! The textures, the colours, the poses, EVERYTHING! Also love the tutorials & tips sprinkled all over the video, really making it a fun but also informative moment
Aw, oil painting isn't THAT scary. You can layer plenty, you just have to have more patience because of drying time. The drying time can be slowed or accelerated, too.
This is mostly a comment for the sake of being a comment. Great work. The problem with Renaissance art is that a lot is sort of 2.5D in that it often uses techniques that make it look different depending on the angle you observe it.
Love Scooby with the ghost.
As a scooby doo super fan... I approve [stamp of approval noise]
This was really interesting! I enjoyed that you took a bit more time for each artwork, I learned a lot!
If you actually end up making a PPG renaissance artwork, could you do it inspired in Velazquez's Meninas? I think there are enough characters in that painting to work with that can make use of the characters from the show. And it's a crazy good late renaissance painting to get inspired by, not only using great shadow and light values through the chiaroscuro method, but the intricate perspective (combined with the size of the actual painting) makes it feel like you're in the same room with the characters. And coincidentally like with Ariel's Aang piece, the painting also tells a story despite it's royal painting motif. And as a bonus there are a few crazy stories behind the actual painting that not only influenced the characters and their placement within the composition, but actually also point out a few actual easter eggs hidden within the painting. IT'S AN ALL AROUND TOUR DE FORCE!!!
This was awesome! Finally got to see Ariel's actual work.. Glad you guys are giving her ample time now. She seems more comfortable now aswell :)
Ariel: So I did some research into Reinessance art and have some reference portraits up since I don't know a lot about it, please don't @ me haha
References: *literally none of them Reinessance*
Me: it's... it's ok, you're doing great sweetie...
Ariel's final piece: *absolutely slaps*
Me: *tears in eyes* no seriously, you're doing amazing even
You should do a video with dice, in the sense that you decide what each die represents. The first could be colors, second could be a list of possible subjects, third could be setting, etc. I know some artists do this to help them get the creative juices flowing, it would be fun to see how it plays out in a video.
I absolutely adore both of these. Not much more to say.
Scooby one was my favorite. Probably because that's the cartoon I watched as a child.
Fantastic works😊
I love watching the progress in finding the channel style (overlays and so)
Both paintings look great ❤
ABSOLUTLY STUNNING PAINTINGS GUYS!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO MORE😍😄❤❤❤
Love the whole crew that I've seen in the Jazza Fam, and hoping all of everyone's creative dreams become reality.
🤩 If you need/want some more content ideas:
Fan Art Fridays- Each artist gets a dedicated deep dive into their personal fav's even if it isn't yet POP culture. Books, Movies, TV shows, Music, Genre, and fellow UA-camrs/streamers. This could be created long form for patrons (live cast) and edited down into weekly (clip) shows. I would watch the heck out of you guys creating art that touches you deeply and learning why (even if the reasons are still vague).
I know just feeding the algorithm can cause burn out. But imagine: you're already getting paid to make art (pretty great paying the bills without having to dig ditches, been there😮💨), while on the clock getting to play with the toys (fandom) you love and filling the wants of collabing and/or interviewing your personal heroes!
I'm not a consultant by trade (more of a Jack of all trades). I just try to live by the golden rule. If one of my ideas can at least bring a smile to someone (I've accomplished the mission) at best this seed grows into perpetual shared joy.
All the best to the entire crew and keep up the great work😁
Those were awesome!! I'm so jealous!!
THESE WERE SO FUN OMG I LOVED THE STYLES IN THIS EATING YOUR ART
Both of these are so awesome! The more I watch this channel, the more I love it.
Ariel, I’m so proud of your progress! I love what Insert Art has become! Four really talented artists having fun with art! Keep it up!
Well, another impressive job nailed dead on the head. You girls rock soooo much!
Cool! I’m literally painting a renaissance inspired portrait as I’m watching this!
WOW
Magnificent results! I Now I'd love to see [INSERT ART] pick up some paintings at thrift stores and do this challenge again.
I love the way you both handled the subject matter is an almost-serious way! Both are kind of subversions of how Renaissance paintings would work theae images! 🤣
With Aang, i love the pose with the goofy grin. His hand on hip like that is an example of whats calledbThe Renaissance Elbow - basically an easy way for kings and generals to signal their power and authority. Its cool to see that on a twelve year old goofster - look at his face and he doesnt seem to have power, but the stance says yeah, yeah he does! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Didn’t know “The Renaissance Elbow” was a thing! Love that factoid! [Ariel]
@@insertartshow I used to work in a museum talking about renaissance art. We used to joke that the people (usually men!) who stood with both hands on hips and legs apart trying to look dominant actually wound up looking more like a pair of scissors... 🤣
King Henry VIII is a classic for that! 😆 He's trying so hard to be all "look at me bestriding the world", but all that legs-hugely-apart pose brings to mind is the persistent rumours of whether he suffered from syphilis! 😅
(Current historians' consensus seems to be "definitely not, but potentially personality change from the jousting TBI"?)
The people making SpongeBob stole that detailed drawing from Ren & Stimpy.
Holy shit! That was fast 😂 i litterly just asked for u guys to do something like this a few hours ago, u guys r soo awesome!
The pieces turned out so good. :)
I love both paintings so much!! I'd definitely vote for a part 2 of this challenge 🤩
as a history student i cant stand that people use 'renaissance' for other periods/styles of art, but i guess nobody cares about that haha. great video and great art from you two
Amazing paintings from the both of you! The fact that they both have a bit of the character's story/personality included is a great thing! It was really interesting as well to see how much more you could do with more time to refine the artwork.
I can just picture the professional painter getting annoyed with the new Avatar goofing off for his portrait, lol--and throwing up his hands and saying, "If you won't sit still, I'm just painting you with that face! How about that!"
...he might also be the cabbage man
BRAVA you two! Great attention to detail, use of different techniques and tools. 5 stars for both.
Really enjoyed this. Both approaches so different, but equally successful 😊
The one lady didn't lie when she says she turns her drawings into uncanny valley. Lol
Really nice video, it was such a treat to see the painting process, and the fact that you guys actually had the time to focus only on a piece each and being able to show your each unique style and skills is really a superb content.
The background music while they were talking about Ariel’s piece was a little distracting. Love both pieces though!! 😍
This was outstanding and some wonderful artwork!!
You both sounded so confident and in-charge. I love it.
As I use the brushes, I feel like I'm fiddling around a lot, so it's nice to see how you are using yours.!!
Well done!
Yay! So glad you’re trying them out! [Alysha]
Very cool. DO MORE OF THESE!
Can you create a D&D character from 'Bengal, India' ? (it would be really fun to have a d&d character from here and we've got tigers).
So here goes the back Story : .. A Prosperous Kingdom with a Good King. The kingdom is kind of conservative, doesn't allow outsiders to fully get involved. The Capital city has a temple at the centre, there's a jewel (crystal maybe) in that temple, and it's very important.
Invaders come - too strong to invade so fall back - sends other party as merchants - The prince of the kingdom falls in love with a merchant girl from noble family - lovey-dovey things go on, eventually Prince shows the girl the crystal - girl figures out a secret passage - steals the crystal - invaders are now able to defeat the kingdom, so they defeat it and destroy everything and loot their bounty - prince lives - he is now on a revenge mission.
(Request x4, If last one was x3)
Amazing works both of youuu! ❤
Love the vibe you guys give off so relatable to
Both of them came out amazing! 💕
There’s some Jeff the Killer vibes in Aang’s face at points in this video.
