This was Chester's favorite song. After he died, Corey dedicated it to him, while performing with tears in his eyes. For me, this song is always going to be connected to death.
oh damn
Oh, I didn’t know that even though I like both Linkin Park and Stone Sour (also Slipknot ofc). But I already connected it to death because my dad loved this song and he died in January last year from a heart attack so I also connect it to him and what happened to him in life and why he loved this song.
@@Kiwi0614 sorry to hear about your dad ❤️
"Snuff" is Slipknot's softest song. You'll be blown away.
Vermillion Pt.2
Circle xd
Vermillion pt2 is so gooood and soft
in snuff you really feel the stone sour side of Corey Taylor
but i prefer vermillion pt2
Actually, Stone Sour is Corey Taylor's FIRST band.
He joined Slipknot after he formed Stone Sour.
That's why Stone Sour has remained alive, so Corey can have this alternate outlet for his deeper lyrical thoughts and it better shows off his vocal range.
And that he can really sing.☺
I wouldn't say stone sour has deeper lyrical thought than slipknot. I'd say slipknot themes and lyrics are pretty thought out.
Corey's voice is more deep in slipknot
@@prodelite i don't think you've listened to stone sour. The lyrics themselves are just as heavy as slipknots. The only difference is corey doesn't have to be as agressive with them. The stone sour songs, are just songs that weren't meant for slipknot, musically.
@@mattevans1643 I mean deep as in voice
It's funny the way I discribe it is that stone sour is more my speed 90% of the time. Then there's that time I just want to let the 12yropd out and that's slipknot
Jim Root, one of the guitarists for Slipknot is also in Stone Sour at the time of this recording. He later quit. He’s the guy on the right with shoulder length dark brown head.
He didn't leave but was later removed in 2017
@@sebastianedstein8788 think it was more 2014
Stone Sour "Bother" "Digital" "Cold Reader" "30/30 150" "Hesitate" "ComeWhat(Ever)May"
Shaddoe This is the perfect list
I love all stone sour but to me the new album is the best, Chris's solos are out of the world on Hydrograd
30/30-150 is probably my favorite Stone Sour song. The name comes from the fact that in high school, Corey wore size 30/30 pants and weighed 150lbs.
Song #3 - Stone Sour
Nochtic love that song so much
With Corey's son
Anyone else notice the “HOLLOWOOD” instead of “HOLLYWOOD”
I did now lol good eye
Yeah back when the song was released lol. It's basically inline with everything Alex said about the first verse
Say You’ll Haunt Me is one of the best Stone Sour songs
TJ Dicks yes yes yes!
Absolutely agree with you on that one. It's one of my faves by them....
i would humbly disagree. that album and song were so subpar from every other album. just my opinion tho, no harm
Right here
The guitarist with the long hair is Jim Root also guitarist in Slipknot
I was just going to comment on the same.
Yeah me too. Jim is the Best!
Gary Long hes no longer in stone sour
Zayne Jones But he is in this video, which I think is the real point here.
Wait, legit?
"AND IT'S THE..." *Pauses Video*
Me: 😐😐😥😥 NO!! HIT PLAY!! Lmao
That's where the fucking breakdown is!!!
Totally man!!
That pissed me off so much
“If the stars shine for you, then it’s the stars that lie to you”
Damn. Never realized how great that line is after hearing this song so many times.
The sign actually reads hollowood vs hollywood. A little easter egg that not many people had seemed to notice.
Also, if you want a Stone Sour like song from Slipknot, listen to "Snuff" by them. Real emotional
the entirety of the grey chapter is pretty emotional
When he does snuff live, acoustic at least, he will occasionally break down a bit
I second snuff. Amazing song
Bother is phenomenal too! :)
Was totally gonna recommend bother. Im glad to see it recommended. PLEASE do bother!
Yeah love bother too brilliant song
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I was going to recommend bother. what an amazing song first I heard it was Corey performing it at download on his own, the rest of the band left and it was just him and a guitar. Stunning!
PlexyPanda absolute zero is the best song from stonesour
I love that you acknowledge that rock/metal is much more than just a good vocalist. The entire band has to be brilliant in order to make it work.
You want your mind blown Alex? React to Slipknot- Snuff. Fantastic heavy song but if you didn't know any better, you'd swear it was stone sour
Must agree to this
ua-cam.com/video/1FMsYQCzQdE/v-deo.html
I agree, snuff - Slipknot.
Riseofnightmares Mason To me, the way a non-metalhead could tell it’s not Stone Sour is becuz during the chorus, you can here the rumbles & thumps of the overturned bass drums… but that’s just me
Fuckin amazing song!
I love both Slipknot And Stone Sour tbh. Like Slipknot is where he and the others can express their anger and craziness while Stone Sour is where Corey gets to express his vocal talent more and let more emotion out then just anger and craziness.
Slipknot is the release for anger, Stone sour the release for sadness.
Not true at all. If you base it on this one song maybe. They have more aggressive songs than sad ones.
the music isn't defined by 1 person they all bring together ideas that have their emotions behind them. There is a lot of hard rock and heavy metal. They all have a wide taste in music and a lot different emotions to bring forward so you get a big range... At the end of the day the music they make is for them it just so happens we like what they do enough for them to not have to sell out much
This song, from when my son was 10-11 years old, always made me think of him. Having to work a lot, always sent messages and love through computers, phones.....I named a star after him, so the lyrics for that, are held deeply. Fast forward into his 20's made mad decisions, not going into detail....but now, I literally see him 'through the glass', since he is Jail, looking at him through that small screen, no contact...I will love this song.....forever
This is such a beautiful song and it often brings me to tears when I listen to it. It’s got some intense memories attached to it for me. Corey’s musicianship is top notch and he will always be one of my favorites.
Fun fact: Stone Sour came before Slipknot, but got mainstream attention a lot later.
If you're looking for more Stone Sour I would recommend "30/30-150" for something heavy, "Made of Scars" for something in the middle, and "Zzyzx rd" for something similar to this one, and "get inside" to see how they started (much rougher, raw sounding)
Zzyzyx Rd is fantastic!
Been a fan of both for a few years now. Slipknot more than a few years actually but I didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out because I feel like most of us found slipknot before stone sour or because of slipknot. So thank you very much.
This is the first time I caught that the sign said HOLLOWood instead of HOLLYwood
My favorite Stone Sour song is probably "Bother"
Michael Tabor Same here on both counts.
I remember the first time I noticed that. I lost my shit. They telegraphed the whole premise of the video, but because everyone is so used to seeing the Hollywood sign, no one saw it.
You totally need to check out Tired from Stone Sours House of Gold and Bones Part 1. It's such an incredible song that blends uplifting intensity and melody with some awesome lyrics. One if my favorites from SS and great performance by Corey and the rest of the band.
"Tired" is a killer song. Also "Do Me a Favor" is great too.
Stone Sour and Slipknot had a guitarist in common for a while as well too. I believe Jim Root is only in Slipknot now but was in Stone Sour with Corey Taylor before they joined Slipknot
Stone Sour - Say You'll Haunt Me is really good
Kiwis Or Absolute zero. Its similiar to slipknot
Stone sour song #3 is a good song also give it a listen
Payton Chaisson both the album version and acoustic version are awesome
Song #3 YES!
Its a great song. Especially the Acoustic version of it 😊
Agreed, he will love Corey's vocals in this one.
Zzyzx Rd. -Stone Sour
For a good laugh: Xmas by Corey Taylor!!!
You should hear his cover of Wicked Game. Fn phenomenal
True
yes
It's a good cover but him version will always be phenomenal
I’ve heard this song for years and years, even seen it performed live but I have never seen the video... lol. Being a Slipknot fan I never got much into Stone Sour, but I will tell you that Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor was in Stone Sour prior to being in Slipknot. Stone Sour is his baby!!! He was not the original vocalist in Slipknot. He joined later to record their self tilted album which has just had its 19th year anniversary. But do not get it twisted, he was in Stone Sour first!
Isn't stone sour still around? I really think I had new stuff from them in my Playlist not that long ago.
You make it sound like they split up.
Mitchell Cambron that’s probably why he looks so much different than he does now
Mitchell Cambron that’s probably why he looks so much different than he does now
Gotta do Bother by Stone Sour. It's one of their best. But not the official music video, it's censored
Fucking LOVE Bother
Fun fact, the guitarist in the song and their earl albums (untill the most recent) is the same guitarist as slipknot jim root
Leedlebeans he was their guitarist all the way up to house of gold and bones
"So while you're outside looking in, describing what you see. Remember what you're staring at is me." All time, 100% favorite line/lines from a song. Always reminds me of the days when I'd get comments on my looks on MySpace. Sometimes they were pretty cruel, as if I'm not a real person with actual feelings, that will eventually read them & be affected by them. And I was no one. I can't even imagine how it is for someone who is famous.
If you want to check out a Stone Sour song, I strongly recommend either Bother, Say You'll Haunt Me OR Sillyworld.
All three are really excellent songs.
I'd listen to Corey Taylor even if he'd sing spongebob theme song (which he actually did in his live solo concert =])
Gauson that video completed my life lol
That shit was so funny
we need snuff! that's even more emotional, through glass is good, but is more poppy and less emotional ^^
and it's still from slipknot, not from stonesour, which makes its impact even bigger :v
Hackfruchtsalat un latino, te encontre
El pac nos delata :v
Hackfruchtsalat yessss
I love how the sign in the background says "Hollowood" and the live action to cut-out transitions are DOPE AF!! Really speaks to the message of the song...Corey Taylor is such an amazing, versatile singer!
this is my favorite reaction video from you! i literally just started watching your channel a few days ago and i've literally watched all your videos. i love the way you try to interpret and understand the music! i cant wait to watch much more!!! love it!!!
YESS I want you to hear Corey's full talent. He literally can sing anything. If you watch his performances when he goes to the house of Blues and does solo stuff he sings all kinds of different songs and he kills it
Kyle Zombi him sing have you ever seen the rain is the greatest thing ever
Just a little more inside for you. The brown haired guitarist in the video is Jim Root, he's one of the guitarist for slipknot
Corey is said to have the second highest vocal capacity in the world that is known.
Daniel Bergeron and the first?
Lil J I don't remember whose name I read because it was not important to me.
Mike patton
David draimen
Lil J me :)
Love love love your reaction!!!
React to Slipknot - Dead Memories! :D
Holyghan yes
This is a solid, solid song to start off on. Stone Sour is a FANTASTIC band, and they only get better from here.
Stone Sour's duo album, House of Gold and Bones Parts 1 and 2, are some of the best rock albums to ever grace the earth. From the opening titles to the absolutely incredible finale, it is an incredible story with incredible music. Stone Sour's other albums - Hydrograd, Audio Secrecy, Come Whatever May, and self-titled - are all great too, but HoG&B is pure perfection.
You got my sub bro, i love your reactions, you are a really humble and nice guy, keep it up!
I really am finding myself liking your channel a lot. I appreciate the effort you put to breaking down the lyrics as you see them. A lot of reaction content creators do not. I also really respect how you address and aren’t afraid to address and talk about painful and sensitive subjects when a song relates, or is based on a topic of that nature. Gotta admit I dig the goofy funny stuff you put in and say to by our videos as well. Keep’em coming man I love the reactions. Looking forward to more!
You really should react to Snuff-Slipknot, its more of a ballad and its amazing!
Filip Johansson That's right
What adds an extra little emotional touch to this song is the fact that Corey dedicated this song to Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, after he committed suicide. Makes you look at the lyrics and the meaning behind them even more.
Sound City Soundtrack (feat. Corey Taylor, Dave Grohl, Rick Nielsen, et al) One of best of Corey Taylor
Dude your editing is FANTASTIC!! I laugh my ass off every video! Keep up the excellent work!
If you want to hear the more “Slipknoty” side of stone sour, listen to 30/30-150 by stone sour. If you want to hear the more “Stone sour-y” side of slipknot, listen to Snuff and Vermillion Pt. 2
I think "Get Inside" or "Idle Hands" is more "Slipknoty" xD
Dead memories :(?
Jake Strong so so true. All good songs.
VERMILLION PART 2!!!
agree with all of this
Their first album is still really heavy, the others get more soft or alternative. Stone Sour is great.
I would recommend ZZYZX Rd.
Yes, that is one of my favorite songs off this album. I liked the cover of Wicked Game they did as well.
Oh my GOD yes!! I don't know what the song means but driving out in the desert with nothing around I saw a sign that said ZZYZX rd. I was like OMG that song! #ZZYZX rd California
@@MrHarbinged Yea, it's off I-5 not far from the CA-NV border.
YES. Zzyzx Rd. Is my favorite.
Yes please.
Corey has a vocal rangea of five and a half octaves! Man that's impressive! I am in love with him! And I am in love with your reactions and I really like that you find something to appreciate in EVERY song even the ones that are not your cup of tea.
Inhale is a great Stone Sour song, with both corey's melodic singing and his early screams (when his screams sounded best imo) sounding amazing.
Serve The Light one of my favourite stone sour songs
Slipknot - snuff
Fuhrer Zik do u mean Snuff?
That sounds like a dog tho. "Nnnuff."
Fixed .. thanks!
Just found you on UA-cam. I like reaction video's in general, but I'm engrossed with yours, especially because you not only take the time to listen to songs / styles that maybe aren't usually your thing so to speak with an open mind - but also because you really dig down into the lyrics and tell us what you think about those. Subscribed!
I just love love love, your reactions!!!! Keep them coming! :(
Jim root was one of the guitarists and he's a member of slipknot too
Lmao this song was written when Corey was stuck in a hotel room due to food poisoning and watching MTV
Thanks for the 'climax' part.. my mom just yelled at me "what are you watching?!"
From Italy with love.. You are great. I really love your video
Hey Alex, you should react to Apocalyptica “I’m not Jesus” featuring Corey Taylor. Apocalyptica is a band the mixes heavy metal with orchestra music. They don’t really have a lead singer so they bring in guest vocals for their songs. On this one they have Corey Taylor. It’s really good.
David Harbit totally agree man, great lyrics and music 👌
AND "I'm not Strong Enough" by them with Brent Smith from Shinedown. He's another amazing vocalist
But apocalyptica best songs are instrumentals
Apocalyptica is not an orchestra, its only 4 cellos, or, might be 3 now, I think 1 quit, but they started as 4 cellos.
Public Guy I know that. I probably should have worded it better but I was basically trying to say that it is an orchestra type of sound.
The Conflagration by Stone Sour is one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard! You should give it a listen!
Great breakdown man👍love Stonesour and CT
I found you a couple days ago and I've just been binge watching you listen to music I love
React to Say You'll Haunt Me by Stone Sour. One of my favorite songs from them. It's a really great song.
Metalhead here, stumbled upon your channel and love it! and I'm actually seeing stone sour live tomrrow:)
Conner Hoge you lucky 🦆!
Conner Hoge welcome to the channel! Scratch that. Family. ❤️
Man, I appreciate you. Keep it up.
Love the channel by the way cheers from canada
love the reactions bro.
Amazing talent! Corey has a vast array of vocals!
Amazing Song. Amazing Video.
I‘m listening to this Song since my teen times and it never gets boring. I really like Stone sour.
Good Job Alex. Keep up the good work. You‘re a Really cool guy.
Greetings from germany
They dropped a new album last year which is quite good, like I really enjoyed it alot, but thats because im already too familiar with his other albums and this new one felt quite fresh, you might wanna check it out, I really liked "Fabuless" and "St Marie"
Corey's also on the song "wither" with Tech nine
My favorite song of life... back when my life was crazy, this fit.
As a newer subscriber I must say I enjoy your honesty. You have the ability to see into the music my friend.
Alex Hefner, the guy playing Guitar is the slipknot guitarist,Jim root
In my opinion I think the new guitarist, I think his name is Chris sorry if that's wrong, is a much better fit for the band than Jim. Just wanted to hear what others think of that. I just think the solos are way better and harmonises with Josh's work better
You need to listen to "Vermillion Part II" by Slipknot, it's an acoustic song and you can see what Corey is capable of in that tone.
YES!!
You probably know by now but the guy playing the acoustic guitar in the video is Jim Root which he is in Slipknot as well. So you got Corey and Jim both unmasked
Corey and Stone Sour are perfect when it comes to their live performance! 😍 He sounds like in his videos. He loves his fans and the crowd so much. I saw him last week at a festival in Germany (Rock im Park) and it was the best concert I've ever been to! 😊
I'm a simple man. I see Corey Taylor, i like the video
Tobias Birgersson we're not so different you and i
Same!!! ❤❤❤
You should watch the videos of him speaking. Like acoustic sets on stage he does by himself. He's a very passionate singer.
That Fat Guy like live Snuff?
atbennion watch the London set he did, he's done acoustic covers of Slipknot songs such as Snuff and Spit it out
SlightlyUnderAverage thank you for the offer, but I have seen them already. That one he does a QnA beforehand as well. I mean Snuff because of it being devoted to paul
atbennion yeah. Snuff was the best one. All are great but that one was amazimg
That Fat Guy he's an amazing musician full stop isn't he
Love the Friends references throughout your videos. Nice touch 😜
Zzyzx road... masterpiece 👌👌
I respect your taste in music and the interest you show in other genres . I love your work man keep it up
tony georgiou thank you so much! :)
Once you already checked stone sour's 'through glass', check Stone Sour - Absolute Zero
Im glad you like it bro. I grew up listening to stonesour, mom was a huge fan
Spot On Reaction!
Corey is a vocal God through the glass and #3 are amazing styles
just about everything from stone sour is awesome! my top 3 are probably Bother, Snuff and Song #3....we need reaction vids for all of them please and thanks lol =)
Say you'll haunt me :))
Listen to that one, bro
God, I've spent the last 5 hours or so watching your videos... just to see another person listen to great music cause it's such a good vibe
Oh dude you're listening to great songs I can't get to bed. I keep seeing another one I really love come up in my suggestions.
you should give Song #3 a try its from Stone Sour's newest album
The guy at 6:36 is #4 from slipknot AKA Jim/James Root. The one with the jester mask.
I truly love ur thoughts. I feel similarly and its very thought provoking
Aye yo Alex I never comment but u were spot on with the meaning of the lyrics.Thats powerful & meaningful& dam I'm following u now.😌
This guy gets it also 30 31 150 another stone sour song and from slipknot: till we die, snuff, and before i forget are all up your alley
Anyone else notice the Hollywood sign said "Hollowood"
First time subscriber to you, I forgot that I hadn't subbed to you yet though my hubby has for some time! We LOVE your reactions!! *Squeee!* You're so fun to watch and listen to!! That and your love for us and your community [Hefnerds?], it's ... we can feel it though we haven't MET you but It feels AWESOME!
And this song rocks, I think this was the first ever Stone Sour song I had ever heard many years ago, and it's such a good one to be introduced to Stone Sour by! :D Someday if you have the chance, could you do a reaction to Song #3 by Stone Sour from their new album Hydrograd? It's a really nice song by them, I hope you'll love it as much as we do! Thanks for being SO AWESOME!! \o/
One of my all time favorite songs.
React to Hellyeah: Moth
You have a new subscriber. Much love from Kentucky
You should react to Vermillion from Slipknot, kind of a mixture of Stone and Slip if you ask me, I really dig it
Arthur Barbosa holy shit yes! Do vermilion part 1 and 2 back to back!
Snuff too!
