    Thanks for the video, I had already ordered mine because I had the muffler being swapped out it will actually be here today. But as soon as I left the muffler shop I could notice the droning, at some points the exhaust would just cut out completely when coasting at a slow speed. Even my uncle who was at the front door of his house asked if they truck was misfiring, I explained to him about the different combinations of cylinders it could run in. Then explained about the range. Was still kinda skeptical about it with the newer trucks but your video sure is reassuring. Thanks again! V8 all the way. #Subscribed

    Marvelous Kevin. Both your May 10, 2020 video on the Range disabler and this one. Have become a KAC subscriber and watch all of your videos. Also, the updated Range device for my 2020 Silverado 1500 LT arrived this evening. Have inserted it into OBD and cannot wait to take a long road trip tomorrow through the mountains where we live in northern New Mexico. Again, your channel is great. No need ever to apologize about rants and opinions from you. It is those rants and opinions for which we KAC followers subscribe to your channel. Really enjoy the comments folks make on your channel. I think a good way to judge the value of a You Tube channel is by the quality of the comments. Your commentors are thoughtful and have class. Very impressive. Thanks for your good work. Best to you.
    R. Henry, M.D.

    I'm glad I discovered Range Technology. I have a muffler delete on my 2013 Avalanche Black Diamond and even though I never hear a drone, I can hear and even feel when it goes from V8 to V4. I use cruise control a lot and going on a straight, flat road it constantly shifts modes. I can't wait to get my Range in.

    Great video . For the actual Range device i give it a 5/10. Reason for my opinion is that my engine bay started smelling kinda funky almost plastic like . Took the device off and the smell went away . I still felt it wanted to drop cylinders during cruising speeds under 50 . I could actually see my rpms going up and down a little. I sold it to a friend with a 2017 Silverado with afm . He’s had no issues with it . I just feel the Dfm is a lil more complex and range couldn’t get it a 100 percent right.

    Not sure if you've mentioned it in one of your two review videos, but in my experience after installing this week, the new Range DFM disabler also disables the auto Stop/Start on my '19 Silverado which is awesome. Only twice have I noticed something a bit annoying while using the disabler. It's something I can't replicate but has happened under similar circumstances. When coming to a stop at a red light from a higher rate of speed, I've felt as though the engine was very noticeably helping me to stop, like downshifting in a manual trans where the engine is doing a lot of the work to get you to slow down. I've never felt that sensation in the +10,000 miles prior to installing the disabler. Nothing dangerous or unsafe but just a weird event those two times this week.

    • @KevinsAutoChannel
      @KevinsAutoChannel  4 роки тому +1

      I haven’t noticed the disabling of the auto start/stop because I have formed the habit of cutting it off as soon as I start the truck. I have noticed though in the past that if you are cruising at a faster rate of speed and all of a sudden start stopping hard that the trans will downshift aggressively allowing the engine to brake as well. It may be a built in “safety feature.”

    DFM = GM's pathetic attempt to spread the wear and tear around to all of the lifters instead of cylinders 1,4,6 and 7 as designed in AFM. Still a trash design. GM should make it a build code for those buyers that want a true factory AFM and DFM delete instead of consumers having to use Range as a bandaide.

      It's GM'S way to make the EPA happy. All brands have something similar. I installed my range tech disabler without issue. Also helps the transmission to decide which gear to be in! Lol

    Why not just get a Tundra or F-150 5.0 so you don’t have to deal with this BS? I don’t get it

    You said possibly drop down to running on 2 cylinders going downhill... That's impossible obviously you don't understand the mechanics of how AFM works.. The maximum cylinders you can drop is 4 .... You might want to do research before you talk about something you don't know anything about and sound dumb...
