Possibly add opacity to the additions as well, so it'll have the shock like flash effect that lightning has

You should be adding those two additional paths with like a drag tool if you will. Or you can "Track" them in and then add a little opacity I believe. I'm just spiraling this around I don't have true Graphic Design skills but I'm a novice lol maybe my description can help. 🤙🤙🤙

I found this video rather... Shocking! hahahaha. :D.
Then add a completely new path (not connected with the first) to the bottom left, so that's 2 lightning strikes, the effect will show more with the additional paths added to the first strike. Add like a particle effect ✨ever so lightly here and there and colors such as making the strike orange, yellow, purple, then you really have something new! Blue 🔵 and so on if you see the vision?
I might need your Help, i dont understand the shortcut of the distort effect, what do I have to type after the Alt clic ? Nice tuto as alwasy but can you add a zoom up of wich keys you are using !
Maybe dumb question but anyway what is the best way then of exporting just the lightening element? Cause if you add it above other elements doesn't the glow effect those other items that you might not want it to?

6:07 How do you delete points on the path without it either creating a new shape layer or just selecting the whole shape layer? When either of these things happen, it means I can't click on individual points on the path.
Ive got video that is 3mins long, how do I loop the trim paths so it plays through entire video instead of having of duplicating the effects?

This video is amazing! However i have an issue. When using the pen tool i dont have the options to see the fill and all of that
It might help if you create the shape layer first
It should be noted that you CANNOT edit the path if it has the expression on it. You're welcome.
I can't see "Add" at the very start
why you dont use the lightning effect in after effects?
How about a horizontal path to the top left and to the top right at the same speed? So that would be three blended paths at once as their is one now where it stands if you get what I'm saying?

When i do adjustment layer it does the glow effect on the whole thing not just the lightning, but im following your exact steps so not sure what im doing wrong
Adjustment layers affect every layer under them

How do I make it go behind text or an object? like wrapping around a pole or something
Try duplicating the same lightning, and then mask out the parts that are behind the thing :)

my glow effect won't work nothing happening
You may have to speed up the two additional paths but basically it is doing this motion 💹, now you want to add this motion ↔️ slightly and very quickly like flashes
That might be off topic but yea, so you have this💹now add 2 of these↔️↔️ to the left (slightly above the already made path) and to the right (slightly above the already made path) onto that same path, then add a completely new strike to the bottom left
