Aweseome video!
When a person uses steam link for their wireless VR with a meta headset, there is a second option underneath the "resolution per eye" that changes the Foveated rendering, which can significantly impact performance on low - mid tier PC's when set above 1000.
Awesome tip!
Great! Thanks a lot, this was very helpful😊
Just what I was looking for! tyty
Thanks again!
It was worth taking the extra time, the improvement in editing technique makes the video much more engaging. Helpful tips, I didn't know some of them. Hopefuly now I will succeed in making No Man Sky actually playable.
Hell yeah, thanks dude!
Just changing the Power Settings to "High Performance" in Windows worked for me
i have been looking for this for months
good explanation, keep it up 👍
What can't be overstated is just how simple, clean and to the point this video was. He didn't sit there and talk about crap for 20 minutes. He focused solely on what he said he would do and got right to it out of the gate.
I'm just on my way home from work and I'm going to follow this one step at a time.
I have a new gaming pc.
RTX4080
Ryzen 9 7900x
32gb ddr5 ram
I've noticed that the few games I've played in VR are choppy, so I'm guessing it's because i have yet to do any of these things. I'm new to this, so this video is just perfect for me.
This video is literally the best one I've seen on youtube for this type of content. Absolutely great work on this. Thank you very much for what you've done 🙂
Your comment is much appreciates my man!
@@reality-rise you're most welcome. I know you're probably tired of getting a million questions on here, so I don't want to bother you with more, but I'm wondering if you could point me in a direction for learning how to get the best performance out of my PC.
I have an RTX 4080, RYZEN 9 7900X, 32GB of DDR5 ram, and when i run red dead redemption 2 in vr, it looks terrible. But I've watched many videos of poeple playing it on 3080s and it looks great. On my PC it's very grainy. Like not even playable in any enjoyable way, yet my system is more powerful than theirs.
I'm confused and new to all of this, so I'm just wondering if there's a resource you're aware of that you could point me to so I'm not here bothering you with a million questions? Thank you very much
I assume you have already watched this current video to help out with the potential performance issues?
With a quick Google search I found out that RDR VR is a mod. I don't know how old/outdated that mod is and thus how compatible/optimized it is for the Quest 3. Perhaps DLSS is what they use? RDR can be quite beefy, especially in VR setting. Did you copy the exact settings from those guys?
Awesome video, thank you!
You're welcome :)
Thank you, this is helpful
Glad to hear that
This guy knows his stuff!!! I've liked and subscribed. Very impressed mate. Keep it up.
Thanks so much dude!
@reality-rise Can you change this video settings so i can Favorite it?
You can put it in your favourites playlist or what I always do, just like the video so it appears in your liked list hehe.
Would the application work on Rec room? I tried an FSR mod before, but it didn't work. So I'd assume this might work.
I don't know for sure my man, if you mean the RecRoom Steam version, you could give it a try.
How do you disable mirroring though? Whenever you run a gun on PCVR it is ALWAYS rendered on your monitor and I feel like it's what is rendered on your headset so I don't think you can turn it off or the game would just not be rendered.
Forgot to mention that of course not all games support this but whenever you can, try to only display it on your headset to save system resources. Who knows there is software out there that'll do this for you.
There aren’t many games that allow that but it’s simply question of changing the mode to windowed and minimalize the game. It’ll still run but wont drain gpu resources. If game doesn’t have display option ingame sometimes alt+enter works.
But have in mind that not all games that allow changing fullscreen mode will give you an performance impact when minimalized. It’s fucked up dawg
@@thepiratearr897 Good tip.
the fsr tool can i use it in vrchat? it have eac anticheat
Haven't tested it out myself, but you can try. I have read, however, that EAC doesn't like any modification, so worst case is that it just won't start. Test it out and let me know :)
It used to work, no longer does, was great while it lasted, RIP mods
Yes
“Or your playing games that aren’t fully optimized yet” nailed it for me 😂 I love playing Rumble so much but the game is optimized horribly, the constant frame drops are so bad
Thank you for this. I for the most part have had ok pcvr experiences since I got my gaming laptop. But when I first got on I went to sansar and it ran grest. But now when I go to Sansar it lags. Also I just found Riff but couldn’t really enjoy it because of the lag. I’m going to try these tips because I was just going to buy a more upgraded computer.
Hope the tips serve you well man!
I tried downloading the openvr mod app a few weeks ago but it didn’t work for me, I tried watching multiple tutorials and followed them but none of the settings in the mod would actually work. No idea why
Ah that's odd, for me it worked flawlessly, the game should have OpenVR support though.
@@reality-rise How do I know if it does? I’m trying to use it on Rumble on SteamVR
Same here I've tried everything won't work and I have a 4090
我的quest3使用steamlink性能图每隔几秒出现一次紫色线条
Great video! Can anyone tell me how I can disable the desktop mirroring?
Yip same question. Do you mean that the game should NOT be being displayed on the computer monitor? Well how do you stop it being displayed but still have it sent to the Quest headset? Very confusing. I find the whole PCVR on Quest really obtuse, so many different option and apps with so many settings in each that seem to be the same thing i.e. Meta desktop app has refresh and resolution settings but so does the steam app and both are running at same time. Also is refresh rate the same as FPS?
Yes, but I finally found the answer. Had to add ‘-nowindow’ in startup options in Meta Link app.
It works for Quest 2 right?
I would say so, yes
How do you only cast to your headset and not your headset and monitor?
It depends if the game let's you actually. What I meant in general was, if you have the option, just display it in your headset instead of both headset + monitor to save resources.
*anyone knows why I can't see my desktop on my screen while in I'm vr with virtual desktop?*
Are you connected to your PC? Or do you just see a black screen?
@@reality-rise I figured it out but thank you I’m on a index but my cable kept getting loose
Ah I see. I'm glad you figured it out my man!
Do not change windows power profile if you have AMD CPU with 3D V-Cache. It will decrease your performance. Keep the balanced power plan.
if you have a 3D v cache cpu, you should already be getting all the fps anyway tbh
Will this work for vrchat
Only PCVR related games, so if it's regarding VRChat via Steam then perhaps
@@reality-rise lol thanks for replying quick I'll drop a sub anyways
@@mohammedajmal273 Much love brother
i have a 4060 and my stuff is fuzzy and laggy
Hmmm, did you configure the settings correctly?
@RealityRise, are you dutch?
Yes
is it safe to download this tool?
Yes it is, I use it myself.
you didnt mention a single thing about airlink/wifi type settings etc to alter/boost the whole thing... my shit is jumping all over the place constantly
My bad if I left it out, but if you're trying to use it wirelessly, a WIFI6 type connection on the 5G band should do the trick.
Windows defender does mot want me to install the app so I didn't, saying it may be dangerous, anyone else had this?....
@@1973DMA That's normal behaviour, I had it too. It's a false positive.
my vrchat crashes help lol
Oh no! You mean on the PC version? I've had some hiccups with that one aswell.
@@reality-rise the both
woa woa woa .... shader cache 100gb?!?!? are you high Af?!
High up in the available storage 🤣
Geforce Experience? Why? For what you need this?
Better make a clean Install without all the Telemetry stuff.
You can save 5-15% GPU Power demanding on your Setup.
I find it easier to track my driver updates this way, along with most other people but if you like to do it manually, that's possible of course.
@@reality-rise This takes about 2 minutes, But you can play for hours.
The 2 minutes of comfort is exchanged for hours of gaming with unnecessary latency and background programs.
Look in the task manager how often Nvidia is there? You can turn all of that off. And who says the latest driver is the best? With Experience you don't even have the choice of which one you want.
Sorry isn't a criticism, I just wanted to show that there are other things. You can also set the Fov in the Oculus Traytool to ~0.8x0.8 without noticing the difference when playing games. That's another 25% saving on the GPU.
Is the tool a virus
I need to know
@@cyberonic8170 Why would I share a virus my man haha
