Why is the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 Lens SO GOOD?!

- The Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 has been used for YEARS by professional filmmakers for absolutely crispy footage.
The lens is an EF mount constant f1.8 aperture at a pretty wide focal length meaning it's a great choice for video when you want to make it look extra cinematic. Such a wide focal length with an f1.8 is not a common find.
The lens also does not extend when zooming! Crazy! This means that when you put it in a gimbal, you don't need to account for lens zooming when balancing.
This lens is an absolute must have for professional filmmakers. Pair it with a 24-70mm f2.8 and that's all you'll ever need.
1️⃣Price - around $670 new which is a very great price for a lens of this caliber
2️⃣Image Quality - it is SO sharp, you have to try it to really understand the beauty
3️⃣Aperture - a constant f1.8 at 18mm through 35mm is not something that is a common sight. Perfect for cinematic looking shots with a subject on a wide blurry background

This lens is really sharp at 1.8 but if you want outstanding contrast its best to shoot at 2.8

Thank you! So the long light bar on the left is the Amaran T2C. The little lamp fixture with the plants is some led lamp from IKEA. I also have a tiny light bar from Neewer called the TL96GRB

If you get the Sony fx30 APS-C sensor you can easily buy a mount adapter canon to Sony and use this lens, I just bought this lens to use on my Fuji xt4, it arrives next week can't wait to play out!!! @@BrynnerAgassi

Yes I am! Its a top tier lens, absolutely amazing in my opinion. It is heavy and a bit bulky, so if you're planning on doing vlogging, this will not be the best option, but if you are doing videos like I am, its one of the best!

Yeah, it would be very similar as they are almost the same line of lenses. If I'm remembering correctly the 24-70 is REALLY bulky, but I'm actually looking to pick one up soon. There is a canon mount for that lens, it'll be named "Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG OS HSM Art Lens Canon EF"

no IS,once shutter speed going down to 1/60 you're screwed, and don't even mention about shooting video, you'll give your viewers motion sickness
Never had that problem. IS for such a wide lens isn't necessary. There have been countless short films made on this lens alone and people continue to use it for video because its really high quality
Buddy is talking about IS on a wide angle lens. You must either have adhd or you are using too heavy of gear, plus gimbals are a must for video, this comment shows you know nothing about both photography and videography
