Not saying Akainu will become a “good guy” or “redeemed”, but I like the idea of his Absolute Justice running into a wall when met with the true corruption of the world, and he determines that they have to be removed. PS: Also Akainu being called a “Dog” for biting the hand of his masters is too good an idea to pass up
I really believe that the gorosei with the bird silhouette is a possible basilisk or cockatrice (rooster-lizard hybrid) mythical zoan. It seems just the right amount of goofy and threatening as oda likes.
Im not sure i think it might be a Griffin im not sure but on comparing it the other depictions of them in mythology and its very similar but with odas goofy spins and I love and hope it is a Griffin because they are epic
These last few chapters have really revealed all the silhouettes for the antagonists of the last saga in the Heavenly Knights, the Gorosei’s devil fruit forms and Imu’s true form, hyped for what’s to come
The bird guy has the awakened zoan scarf much like sword guy's, which makes me think they're Zoro and Sanji's fights and the extra symbolism in Sanji's is extra fun for that. I'm still not sold that Gorbachov's "tusks" aren't just his moustache and he can be basically anything, but I'm sure we'll see in a few years...
I kind of like the theory that the Gorosei are Gods Knights from the past, like the Gods Knights are Admirals and Gorosei are the Fleet Admiral(s) by comparison.
I think most straw hats and some of the grand fleet leaders will fight admirals, saraphim and holy knights while sanji, zoro, possibly jenbie and luffy will have multiple fights and them and some of the other really powerful allies will fight gorosie and imu.
@@Perroden i disagree with the first part. I think the marines will be a separate battle, then once they’re done with that obstacle they go for the gorosei and the holy knights and Imu. I think the grand fleet will fight vice admirals because I do not see any of them being strong enough to fight admirals. I see Luffy Vs Akainu, Zoro Vs Fujitora, Sanji Vs Kizaru and Jinbei Vs Greenbull (Greenbull is a racist asshat that loves the celestial dragons and think they’re above everything so I think that makes sense) Garp I think will defect because he already lost Ace, he wouldn’t want to lose Luffy as well and Garp fights Sengoku.

Has anyone ever consider Imu as a Umibōzu? It’s whole premise is it’s a sea priest that has full control over the seas. In most depiction nothing is known about it. It’s visual depiction is a shadowy humanoid creature with no features other than a pair of piercing eyes staring at you.
Im starting to lean against imu being mother sea now, and more so that the sea is apart of the voice of all things in one piece and punishes devil fruit users based on a very great point tekking made on imu and the gorosei potentially having devil fruits doesnt seem mother sea like

From the average citizen of different kingdoms (because different places knows different amount of how the world works), to all the various figures and ranks (admirals, common pirates, celestial dragons, main characters, revolutionaries etc). It could also not just apply just to the underground government, but also to the lore, history, underground world (stussy, mingo etc.)
Mythical Zoans are the strongest devil fruit category. It’s not just becoming an animal….you can become a fantasy creature or God with some type of Logia/Paramecia secondary ability. It would be cool if they were all mythical. It’s the one type of fruit that gives you Zoan/Logia/Paramecia like powers all rolled into one.
Personally I want the idea about them all having god fruits to be true, because damn does that explain another reason they were after Luffy's fruit. Like not only were they after the fruit, it would be effectively they are recruiting deities to join them or be hunted.

We already know the name of one of the Gorosei as Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. It is theorized that the name “Jaygarcia” plays off Jerry Garcia, from the Grateful Dead. It could also play on the song “Saturn” by Russ Garcia. Given this, here are my predictions for the other four names: 1. Fredrick or Federico Mercury. Named after Freddie Mercury, the name is right there. And it may be Federico because all the Celestial Dragon names have seeming be Hispanic or Latin on origin 2. Paul or Pablo Venus. Named after Paul McCartney because he has that famous album “Venus and Mars” 3. Peter or Pedro Mars. Named after Bruno Mars whose birth name is Peter Gene Hernandez. It may be Hernandez Mars instead. 4. Robert or Roberto Jupiter. Named after Robert Smith of The Cure. They have a song called “Jupiter Crash”

You should look into it and make a video about it.
I’ve seen that, it’s just 2 of the monsters there (the bird and the one with horns) that look similar no? People said the pig with horns as well but apart from the ears, it didn’t match the silhouettes at all. The other 2 are a blob with a portal in his mouth and a long necked humanoid that has clouds/smoke around his neck, those 2 do not look like the monsters from where the wild things are.
I took the giant humanoid shape standing over the stairs as the Blonde Gorosei. With Sabo having just attacked Imu, it would make sense for at least one of them to step into the path to block subsequent attacks. Also fits the idea of Imu being a supreme ruler. They sit on the throne while the pieces are put in place. Panel wise, when Imu eats the fire, we see the sharp teeth that appear elongated face compared to a humanoid one and Imu still has those ringed eyes. In the 5 shadow panel and next one, the eyes are blank circles on the largest shape, and keeps a humanoid shape which matches the extra gorosei face when Sabo is running. I'd wager the running panel adjusts the sizes to fit them all on the page to depict them as towering and imposing figures.

What if Imu can extract or harness the power of devil fruits (maybe the devil spirits themselves?) and can use or give the powers to others. Another more popular theory involves Imu having the ink ink fruit, rivaling Luffy's; the japanese text for rubber/eraser paralells the ink supposedly and would also give Oda a fun fight between Imu and Luffy
The fact the Gorosei all (possibly) have Devil Fruit powers-which may or may not be Zoans-makes me think back to that "Return to Reverie" comic where some of them had them. It just makes the mystery surrounding their powers/abilities let alone their history all the more deep.

I feel like Gorosei's transformation is actually Imu's power. As we know, DF awakening can affect their surrounding. Imu's is so powerful that they can transform other people with their power.

The Egghead Incident maybe this will also be the defeat of Kizaru as well. Oda implied this will be a huge event in the history of One Piece. I’m also thinking of what if they fail to save Vegapunk but receive important knowledge that would help them in return.
So I’ve believed for a long time now that Imu is actually a pirate from the before the void century, not just any pirate though, the King of the Pirates. This would make the Gorosei the pirate kings commanders and the 19 other “kings”, pirate lords presiding over there territory’s. They joined forces and took over the world.

"Mu" seems to only be the form of "I" Imu uses for himself. The Japanese language has tons of alternate pronouns that depend on not just your gender, but your age, social standing, how you see yourself, who you're talking to etc. Famous example would be the satirical story "Wagahai wa neko de aru" or "I am a cat" where said cat refers to himself with a very old fashioned and aristocractic version of "I". I particularly remember Kenshin Himura using "jibun" which is not only associated with samurai but also extremely impersonal, which sometimes got translated as "this one" or "this servant". And I'm sure just about any manga you can think of has countless examples of this kinda thing.
I do expect at most 2 or 3 of the Gorosei to be Zoans, though given what we've seen with Karasu's proffiency using his logia I'd HOPE the Gorosei could be other types and would have much better experience, but I can't wrap my head around what type of powers/elements they could be.
I think Gorbachev will be a warthog. His silhouette reminds me of Pumbaa from the lion king. His mustache in his silhouette looks like tusks, his elongated face is the snout, and the “wings” Tekking mentioned are his tiny ears.
Yep, the Gorusei may have a mix of mythical Zoans and Logias. The one that looks like a shapeless ghost may have the Briny Briny fruit, that turns the user into seawater. The bird could be a Garuda, the horned one an Ashura, the small horned one, Ganesha, and possibly another one based off of Thai deities.
Looks like Imu's powers have a lot of creative potential, a perfect match for Gear 5 Luffy. It could be a really creative fight with great contrast between Luffy's white and Imu's black.
Calling it now, imu is an Umibōzu (sea priest yokai) or has the umibōzu fruit. The similarities and mythology behind it is hard to deny check it out for yourselves!

@Randal The Kidd there is even more connections going back to ch. 442 the start of thriller bark when the crew find the trap barrel and I believe this is the first mention of a "sea god"? And in thriller bark, we are told about the Florian triangle (aka demon's triangle) where ships disappear into darkness forever. Imu referring to themselves as "Mu" = void, darkness, nothingness... coincidence?? and where do we first see umibozu like creatures? During thriller bark in the Florian triangle which are still a mystery to this day. Definitely an oda move to foreshadow endgame ideas that might be connected to imu as early as thriller bark. 333vil made a video about the Florian monsters being umibozu over a year ago but with 1085 I feel there are more connections there to be made. @PizzaMozzarella I feel oda will be creative with it, if that is the case. it's a yokai so there could be all kinds of mythical powers associated with it maybe relating to water or something? Could be totally wrong but either way I think it fits really well based off looks and lore. if anything oda is at least taking some inspiration from the umibōzu folklore.
If the Gorosei have a theme, I think there's 3 strong contenders. Classical Devil Artwork, Constellations, or Yokai. There'd just be some nice irony to the rulers of the world having Devil-based Devil Fruits. Constellations could give the Gorosei more ties to outer space and could make them look cool and cosmic with a "starfield" design. And Yokai just look like the closest that we got on the page, and could be a way to kinda do demons but making it more Japanese.
I like to think that Imu ate the Void-Void Fruit, which robs him of his physical form, leaving him nothing more than a living shadow. This allows him to mold his appearance in any way he sees fit. He can even use this ability to strip people or their Devil Fruit abilities of their physical form as well. Meaning while all the Gorosei are Zoan Fruit users, none of them have physical appearances in their animal appearance because their form had been erased by Im. Meaning the Gorosei can become shadows themselves modeled after their original Devil Fruit's.
i dont think that them all being shadowed over has anything to do with a DF power or anything, i just think its there as a mystery thing, oda has done this with other characters
@@joshuaduck4139 If Imu was playing a Yu-Gi-Oh-deck, it would be either Infernity or Infernoid, because both archetypes include the word "void" on a lot of cards, especially on the original cards. For Infernities, it somewhat got lost in translation.
Joyboy's Imu is a dragon theory is growing on me. That explains the lizard silhouette coming from the stairs, their long life, in DND dragons have human forms and can polymorph so that explains that. Could be wrong, but there were dragons around at 1 point. Could be 1 of the last dragons.
One idea I had was that Imu’s power is that of the Abyss. If Imu is mother sea, she would wish to drown all devil fruits and stifle their power. The Yami Yami no me is Darkness incarnate. It can negate devil fruit powers. Imu also refers to herself as “Mu”, or Void. It would also fit the weird shadow forms for Imu and the Gorosei.
First initial thought. Imu has the void void fruit and with the amount of experience Imu has gotten from existing for 800 years he can make void creations similar to the clay golems the marine made on the pirate paradise raid.
OK so I just had a crazy thought. What if Imu has the actual darkness fruit? Just like luffy didn't actually have the rubber fruit, I can see a scenario where blackbeard also doesn't have the fruit he thinks he does. That way, imus fruit could have been mentioned super early on. Also, Imu has this whole void aspect😮 to them. No idea what fruit that would make blackbeards, but I'd love to see him fighting and saying "my research says my fruit can do x... Why won't that ability activate?"
Both of those (Luffy 'gap' in the story and your theory) are kind of ruined by the idea that when eating the fruit, you're supposed to learn its name and abilities. But I've always thought of that that Luffy simply did not care it was Zoan.
@rikzz0r This has been debunked so many different times, re-read the conversation between Spandam & CP9. Once a person eats a fruit, they do not know its name. They match the power that manifests against the encyclopedia of known devil fruits, along with the description of the fruit they eat, to confirm the name and powers of the fruit.
I thought it would be a picture of “Where the wild things are” because a lot of people have been comparing the monsters in that book with the Gorosei. Also is it me or can the Gorosei be redeem, sure they perpetuate what the celestial dragons do, but I feel they’re not as monstrous and only do so on Imu’s behalf.
I think they could be redeemed but when it comes to the actual revolution willing or otherwise they're going to have to take the fall for the innumerable crimes committed by the world government since it might be best not to reveal that imu exists to the public
Given the mysterious phantom room alluded to last chapter IM might have eaten the Bake Bake no mi which is the phantom devil fruit coming from the Japanese word for phantom Bakemono and this grants IM the ability to give the elders monster forms.
I do agree that the Elephant is likely something similar to Zounesha, in fact I think it will likely be the same kind of elephant as Zounesha, as with the reveal of the Hito Hito No Mi model: Nika, Oda has opened that way for Zoan type devil friuts to transform the user into creatures from the one piece world. For example, the Scream might be one of the creatures we see in the mist of the Florian Triangle during Thriller Bark (edit: Though, according to the wiki they resemble Umibozu, so it would probably be that)
I don't agree on the Quetzalcoatl idea. Mostly because if I remember correctly another name for the Quetzalcoatl (or the translation for the word) is 'rainbow serpent'. Rainbows are a peace symbol and they can also be used to show acceptance and unity. I don't see someone in the Gorosei representing those ideas. Serpents however... Well I could see a snake being a fitting form for one of them, but I could also see it being a form for an ally of Luffy too. I mean there are plenty of stories about 'evil' snakes, but there are also plenty of stories where they have the power to heal and be forces of good. So overall I think if there was a character with the form of a Quetzalcoatl they would be on Luffy's side rather than the governments.

My first impression of Imu's ability was that they have the real dark-dark logia, leaving Teach with a mythical zoan that works similar to the dark-dark fruit, that'd explain how BB can have those powers without the intangibility of all other logias.
9:25 That _wasn't_ Imu, it was one of the five gourousei that rejoined the rest, because when we saw that blob climb down there were in total five of them shown, not six, and including Imu they were six, thus Imu was still on the throne. When we all six later Imu is specifically not in a blob form, just vaguely exerting pressure in the background

Cool vid! I think the form we are seeing here is not their "true form" but rather is the power of Imu that is capable of transforming people into void creatures. First of all I still find the panel of them holding out their guns to Cobra being a redundant act if in the end Cobra was impaled by some void spear (or devil's tail); which I don't think is any of the gorosei's power, rather is Imu's own act after hearing LIli's full name. Also I would expect the gorosei would only kill Cobra if Imu instructs them to do so, otherwise it wouldn't make sense either. We see Imu with some shape shifting power or somesort when it eats Sabo's flame, and so I wouldn't be surprised that shape shifting anyone (including oneself) into some void creatures is indeed Imu's real power.
It's interesting that you bring up that the picture looks like tusks. Liam was saying that it's possible those are just the handles of his moustache. It's definitely possible that his moustache grows with him.

I think that imu could have some type of void void fruit allowing him/her to open voids(sort of like black holes but literally nothingness) and can swallow things up kind of like a pocket dimension it would make sense how they were able to swallow up sabos fire attack so easily since a void is nothingness the fire was turned into nothingness. It would in theory be the better version of Blackbeard’s fruit.
I think a great way they will reveal the Gorosei's/Imu's abilities are seperate from devil fruits would be to have them swim at one point. Something subtle but enough to get people to say "hold up, wait a minute, wtf?"
The same way I am always impressed by Robin's powers coming from flowers. I could see the mammoth looking one be a hair hair fruit and using it in crazy ways.
The problem with Imu representing black hole, darkness and void in general is that it overlaps with Blackbeard's Yami Yami no Mi a lot. I mean a lot of things what Imu would be capable of Blackbeard already is: making devil fruits useless, sucking into a hole, etc.
Darkness and Primordial Cosmic Waters Void are still related. Blackbeard is that New Darkness Black Hole, Imu is the More Ancient Evil Darkness aka Primordial Cosmic Waters Void. That's or might be a reason why Blackbeard Darkness Fruit have some quality of the Sea, like Black Vortex.. Blackbeard is just a Darkness of the Depth in Ocean or Black Hole in the Space as we know, Imu is that the Infinite Space All-Encompassing Watery Primordial Darkness itself, the Primordial Chaos the Void Nothingness Emptiness and Infinity of the Space that encompasses everything including the Sun Planets and Black Holes. Their powers seems related. As Blackbeard even say his Dark Power is the "True Power of the Devil." And guess who is the True Devil that run this One Piece world. Maybe this is even a Far Stronger Greater Superior Effective Upgraded Version of Blackbeard's Devil Fruit itself. Primordial Void > Darkness its remnants......

My first idea for three of the Gorosilhouettes was Behemoth, Leviathan and Ziz. I don't know what the other two of them might be using that line of thinking. For Imu I am leaning towards them having something like the 'nothing nothing fruit'. I figure it would let them be and/or control anything that doesn't exist. Kind of like the other side of the coin to Luffy's powers.
@@Welle-xw6kp It's the bird version of the first two, it didn't get as much Final Fantasy representation so it mostly fell off outside of mythology. It should also be noted Ziz is said to have a wingspan that can block out the sun, so that's more or less relevant.
I wanna see a coordinated tactic, just like Yu-Gi-Oh, JoJo, Naruto etc.... Forget about the individual fruits and abilities, and make the gorosei have somehow niche weird abilities, but together they synergise so well, they put crews and fleets in a deadlock or something, like the 3 sannin in Naruto, or whatever loop yugi makes in yugioh with random cards working together, or whatever duo or even trio villains in JoJo working together to confuse and combo on the enemies.
Tekking, I have this theory that came up while listening to the audio on spotify. I think Lily, being a "D" clan member, had the voice of all things and communicated with Zunesha to spread the ponegliffs across the world. It would make sense why there there would be a road ponegliff on him, and why there would be one in Alabasta. It may even be how one got on Skypiea. That also would explain the punishment Zunesha would have committed 800 years ago. I would love to get your thoughts on this!
I'm still convinced Gorbachev's "tusks" is just his mustache similar to how Queen keeps his mustache. The things on his head reminds me of hippo ears, which would make him a hippo zoan. Maybe he can imbue his mustache with haki and make them like tusks.

I think imu has a devil fruit ability that works like an upgraded version of blackbeard's fruit that allows him to become a silhouette and shape shift into anything he wants in that form which could explain why imu is somehow able to be cast in shadow despite the gorosei and cobra clearly standing in a well lit room
Here is an odd theroy, what if they used to be the old demon beast guards of Imple Down? Forged in the flames of justice, faithful to the world government to a fault, capable fighters with nearly unrelenting wills. Imu may purposefully let the demon guards naturally awaken then use some ability to further empower or reawaken to make them even stronger? I could even see Shiriu have been a possible candidate to be forged into one if he wasn't so blood thirsty.

I know this is nothing to do with the video, but I think the reason Sabo was able to hide from the Imu and the Gorosei, is maybe he has something similar to opposite observation haki, where instead of being more preceptive he can hide his presence.
In Film Red and its connected content, it is revealed that Shanks has the power to block himself from other's observation haki using his haki so Sabo could have learned that type of haki technique to help him with espionage.

These last few chapters have really revealed all the silhouettes for the antagonists of the last saga in the Heavenly Knights, the Gorosei’s devil fruit forms and Imu’s true form, hyped for what’s to come
The bird guy has the awakened zoan scarf much like sword guy's, which makes me think they're Zoro and Sanji's fights and the extra symbolism in Sanji's is extra fun for that. I'm still not sold that Gorbachov's "tusks" aren't just his moustache and he can be basically anything, but I'm sure we'll see in a few years...

I kind of like the theory that the Gorosei are Gods Knights from the past, like the Gods Knights are Admirals and Gorosei are the Fleet Admiral(s) by comparison.
I think most straw hats and some of the grand fleet leaders will fight admirals, saraphim and holy knights while sanji, zoro, possibly jenbie and luffy will have multiple fights and them and some of the other really powerful allies will fight gorosie and imu.

I think the grand fleet will fight vice admirals because I do not see any of them being strong enough to fight admirals.

Has anyone ever consider Imu as a Umibōzu? It’s whole premise is it’s a sea priest that has full control over the seas. In most depiction nothing is known about it. It’s visual depiction is a shadowy humanoid creature with no features other than a pair of piercing eyes staring at you.

We already know the name of one of the Gorosei as Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. It is theorized that the name “Jaygarcia” plays off Jerry Garcia, from the Grateful Dead. It could also play on the song “Saturn” by Russ Garcia. Given this, here are my predictions for the other four names:
1. Fredrick or Federico Mercury. Named after Freddie Mercury, the name is right there. And it may be Federico because all the Celestial Dragon names have seeming be Hispanic or Latin on origin
2. Paul or Pablo Venus. Named after Paul McCartney because he has that famous album “Venus and Mars”
3. Peter or Pedro Mars. Named after Bruno Mars whose birth name is Peter Gene Hernandez. It may be Hernandez Mars instead.
4. Robert or Roberto Jupiter. Named after Robert Smith of The Cure. They have a song called “Jupiter Crash”

You should look into it and make a video about it.

I’ve seen that, it’s just 2 of the monsters there (the bird and the one with horns) that look similar no?
People said the pig with horns as well but apart from the ears, it didn’t match the silhouettes at all.
The other 2 are a blob with a portal in his mouth and a long necked humanoid that has clouds/smoke around his neck, those 2 do not look like the monsters from where the wild things are.
I would say he did inspired by that book in terms of choosing which type of zoans they will have.
I took the giant humanoid shape standing over the stairs as the Blonde Gorosei. With Sabo having just attacked Imu, it would make sense for at least one of them to step into the path to block subsequent attacks. Also fits the idea of Imu being a supreme ruler. They sit on the throne while the pieces are put in place.
Panel wise, when Imu eats the fire, we see the sharp teeth that appear elongated face compared to a humanoid one and Imu still has those ringed eyes. In the 5 shadow panel and next one, the eyes are blank circles on the largest shape, and keeps a humanoid shape which matches the extra gorosei face when Sabo is running. I'd wager the running panel adjusts the sizes to fit them all on the page to depict them as towering and imposing figures.
Sabo is telling Dragon everything right now, can’t wait to see his reaction to everything next chapter. Also maybe a fun video idea, replacing different characters with Sabo and theorizing what would have happened in the situation with them.
That Sabo was injured and coughed up blood meant that shadow arrow thing was packing a crazy amount of Haki(enough to beat Sabo's crazy amount of Haki)

What if Imu can extract or harness the power of devil fruits (maybe the devil spirits themselves?) and can use or give the powers to others. Another more popular theory involves Imu having the ink ink fruit, rivaling Luffy's; the japanese text for rubber/eraser paralells the ink supposedly and would also give Oda a fun fight between Imu and Luffy

Gorbachov the Great Mind has his 'Great Red Spot' on his forehead, which could be a reference to Zeus's role in the creation of Athena (who was ejected fully-formed, full-grown, armed, and armored, from his forehead). He's also almost always in the center when the Mon-Stars stand together

@@davidortiz3094 Saturn is on his way to Egghead so we will get more info about at least 1 of them. If one of the Gorosei is defeated then that would shock the world. The Egghead Incident maybe this will also be the defeat of Kizaru as well. Oda implied this will be a huge event in the history of One Piece. I’m also thinking of what if they fail to save Vegapunk but receive important knowledge that would help them in return.

So I’ve believed for a long time now that Imu is actually a pirate from the before the void century, not just any pirate though, the King of the Pirates. This would make the Gorosei the pirate kings commanders and the 19 other “kings”, pirate lords presiding over there territory’s. They joined forces and took over the world.
Love this idea because when your rotate the World Governments flag it resembles a Jolly Roger, I think The Hidden Island had this idea too

"Mu" seems to only be the form of "I" Imu uses for himself. The Japanese language has tons of alternate pronouns that depend on not just your gender, but your age, social standing, how you see yourself, who you're talking to etc.
Famous example would be the satirical story "Wagahai wa neko de aru" or "I am a cat" where said cat refers to himself with a very old fashioned and aristocractic version of "I".
I particularly remember Kenshin Himura using "jibun" which is not only associated with samurai but also extremely impersonal, which sometimes got translated as "this one" or "this servant".
And I'm sure just about any manga you can think of has countless examples of this kinda thing.
One Piece alone has like six or seven different forms of “I”.
I do expect at most 2 or 3 of the Gorosei to be Zoans, though given what we've seen with Karasu's proffiency using his logia I'd HOPE the Gorosei could be other types and would have much better experience, but I can't wrap my head around what type of powers/elements they could be.
I think Gorbachev will be a warthog. His silhouette reminds me of Pumbaa from the lion king. His mustache in his silhouette looks like tusks, his elongated face is the snout, and the “wings” Tekking mentioned are his tiny ears.
Yep, the Gorusei may have a mix of mythical Zoans and Logias. The one that looks like a shapeless ghost may have the Briny Briny fruit, that turns the user into seawater. The bird could be a Garuda, the horned one an Ashura, the small horned one, Ganesha, and possibly another one based off of Thai deities.
Looks like Imu's powers have a lot of creative potential, a perfect match for Gear 5 Luffy. It could be a really creative fight with great contrast between Luffy's white and Imu's black.
Calling it now, imu is an Umibōzu (sea priest yokai) or has the umibōzu fruit. The similarities and mythology behind it is hard to deny check it out for yourselves!

@Randal The Kidd there is even more connections going back to ch. 442 the start of thriller bark when the crew find the trap barrel and I believe this is the first mention of a "sea god"? And in thriller bark, we are told about the Florian triangle (aka demon's triangle) where ships disappear into darkness forever. Imu referring to themselves as "Mu" = void, darkness, nothingness... coincidence?? and where do we first see umibozu like creatures? During thriller bark in the Florian triangle which are still a mystery to this day. Definitely an oda move to foreshadow endgame ideas that might be connected to imu as early as thriller bark. 333vil made a video about the Florian monsters being umibozu over a year ago but with 1085 I feel there are more connections there to be made. Oda straight cookin🔥
@PizzaMozzarella I feel oda will be creative with it, if that is the case. it's a yokai so there could be all kinds of mythical powers associated with it maybe relating to water or something? Could be totally wrong but either way I think it fits really well based off looks and lore. if anything oda is at least taking some inspiration from the umibōzu folklore.

If the Gorosei have a theme, I think there's 3 strong contenders. Classical Devil Artwork, Constellations, or Yokai. There'd just be some nice irony to the rulers of the world having Devil-based Devil Fruits. Constellations could give the Gorosei more ties to outer space and could make them look cool and cosmic with a "starfield" design. And Yokai just look like the closest that we got on the page, and could be a way to kinda do demons but making it more Japanese.

I like to think that Imu ate the Void-Void Fruit, which robs him of his physical form, leaving him nothing more than a living shadow. This allows him to mold his appearance in any way he sees fit. He can even use this ability to strip people or their Devil Fruit abilities of their physical form as well. Meaning while all the Gorosei are Zoan Fruit users, none of them have physical appearances in their animal appearance because their form had been erased by Im. Meaning the Gorosei can become shadows themselves modeled after their original Devil Fruit's.
i dont think that them all being shadowed over has anything to do with a DF power or anything, i just think its there as a mystery thing, oda has done this with other characters

Joyboy's Imu is a dragon theory is growing on me. That explains the lizard silhouette coming from the stairs, their long life, in DND dragons have human forms and can polymorph so that explains that. Could be wrong, but there were dragons around at 1 point. Could be 1 of the last dragons.
One idea I had was that Imu’s power is that of the Abyss.
If Imu is mother sea, she would wish to drown all devil fruits and stifle their power.
The Yami Yami no me is Darkness incarnate. It can negate devil fruit powers. Imu also refers to herself as “Mu”, or Void.
It would also fit the weird shadow forms for Imu and the Gorosei.
Considering that "mu" is primarily used in Zen Buddhism to refer to the concept of Anatta, I think it's more likely that Imu might just be a Deva.
First initial thought. Imu has the void void fruit and with the amount of experience Imu has gotten from existing for 800 years he can make void creations similar to the clay golems the marine made on the pirate paradise raid.
That could even be the origin of the Gorosei.

OK so I just had a crazy thought. What if Imu has the actual darkness fruit? Just like luffy didn't actually have the rubber fruit, I can see a scenario where blackbeard also doesn't have the fruit he thinks he does. That way, imus fruit could have been mentioned super early on. Also, Imu has this whole void aspect😮 to them. No idea what fruit that would make blackbeards, but I'd love to see him fighting and saying "my research says my fruit can do x... Why won't that ability activate?"
Both of those (Luffy 'gap' in the story and your theory) are kind of ruined by the idea that when eating the fruit, you're supposed to learn its name and abilities. But I've always thought of that that Luffy simply did not care it was Zoan.

I do agree that the Elephant is likely something similar to Zounesha, in fact I think it will likely be the same kind of elephant as Zounesha, as with the reveal of the Hito Hito No Mi model: Nika, Oda has opened that way for Zoan type devil friuts to transform the user into creatures from the one piece world.

I don't agree on the Quetzalcoatl idea. Mostly because if I remember correctly another name for the Quetzalcoatl (or the translation for the word) is 'rainbow serpent'. Rainbows are a peace symbol and they can also be used to show acceptance and unity. I don't see someone in the Gorosei representing those ideas. Serpents however... Well I could see a snake being a fitting form for one of them, but I could also see it being a form for an ally of Luffy too. I mean there are plenty of stories about 'evil' snakes, but there are also plenty of stories where they have the power to heal and be forces of good. So overall I think if there was a character with the form of a Quetzalcoatl they would be on Luffy's side rather than the governments.

My first impression of Imu's ability was that they have the real dark-dark logia, leaving Teach with a mythical zoan that works similar to the dark-dark fruit, that'd explain how BB can have those powers without the intangibility of all other logias.

Cool vid! I think the form we are seeing here is not their "true form" but rather is the power of Imu that is capable of transforming people into void creatures.
First of all I still find the panel of them holding out their guns to Cobra being a redundant act if in the end Cobra was impaled by some void spear (or devil's tail); which I don't think is any of the gorosei's power, rather is Imu's own act after hearing LIli's full name. Also I would expect the gorosei would only kill Cobra if Imu instructs them to do so, otherwise it wouldn't make sense either.
We see Imu with some shape shifting power or somesort when it eats Sabo's flame, and so I wouldn't be surprised that shape shifting anyone (including oneself) into some void creatures is indeed Imu's real power.
It's interesting that you bring up that the picture looks like tusks. Liam was saying that it's possible those are just the handles of his moustache. It's definitely possible that his moustache grows with him.

I think that imu could have some type of void void fruit allowing him/her to open voids(sort of like black holes but literally nothingness) and can swallow things up kind of like a pocket dimension it would make sense how they were able to swallow up sabos fire attack so easily since a void is nothingness the fire was turned into nothingness. It would in theory be the better version of Blackbeard’s fruit.

The problem with Imu representing black hole, darkness and void in general is that it overlaps with Blackbeard's Yami Yami no Mi a lot. I mean a lot of things what Imu would be capable of Blackbeard already is: making devil fruits useless, sucking into a hole, etc.
Darkness and Primordial Cosmic Waters Void are still related. Blackbeard is that New Darkness Black Hole, Imu is the More Ancient Evil Darkness aka Primordial Cosmic Waters Void. That's or might be a reason why Blackbeard Darkness Fruit have some quality of the Sea, like Black Vortex.. My first idea for three of the Gorosilhouettes was Behemoth, Leviathan and Ziz. I don't know what the other two of them might be using that line of thinking.
For Imu I am leaning towards them having something like the 'nothing nothing fruit'. I figure it would let them be and/or control anything that doesn't exist. Kind of like the other side of the coin to Luffy's powers.

@@Welle-xw6kp It's the bird version of the first two, it didn't get as much Final Fantasy representation so it mostly fell off outside of mythology. It should also be noted Ziz is said to have a wingspan that can block out the sun, so that's more or less relevant.

I wanna see a coordinated tactic, just like Yu-Gi-Oh, JoJo, Naruto etc.... Forget about the individual fruits and abilities, and make the gorosei have somehow niche weird abilities, but together they synergise so well, they put crews and fleets in a deadlock or something, like the 3 sannin in Naruto, or whatever loop yugi makes in yugioh with random cards working together, or whatever duo or even trio villains in JoJo working together to confuse and combo on the enemies.
Tekking, I have this theory that came up while listening to the audio on spotify. I think Lily, being a "D" clan member, had the voice of all things and communicated with Zunesha to spread the ponegliffs across the world. It would make sense why there there would be a road ponegliff on him, and why there would be one in Alabasta. It may even be how one got on Skypiea. That also would explain the punishment Zunesha would have committed 800 years ago. I would love to get your thoughts on this!

i read it somewhere that's very interesting, hope you will see this, and that's theory is the design of the monster form is base on the monsters in "Where the Wild Things Are" a children book, they even have a kid wearing a crown like Imu and the monsters in it are follow the kid. I think imu has a devil fruit ability that works like an upgraded version of blackbeard's fruit that allows him to become a silhouette and shape shift into anything he wants in that form which could explain why imu is somehow able to be cast in shadow despite the gorosei and cobra clearly standing in a well lit room
Here is an odd theroy, what if they used to be the old demon beast guards of Imple Down? Forged in the flames of justice, faithful to the world government to a fault, capable fighters with nearly unrelenting wills. Imu may purposefully let the demon guards naturally awaken then use some ability to further empower or reawaken to make them even stronger? I could even see Shiriu have been a possible candidate to be forged into one if he wasn't so blood thirsty.

btw how many people know about Imu? there was one women who told Imu that the Gorosei have assembled. he should have servants and at least some people around him. or he goes incorgnito to blend in with other people.
I know this is nothing to do with the video, but I think the reason Sabo was able to hide from the Imu and the Gorosei, is maybe he has something similar to opposite observation haki, where instead of being more preceptive he can hide his presence.
That's my thinking
In Film Red and its connected content, it is revealed that Shanks has the power to block himself from other's observation haki using his haki so Sabo could have learned that type of haki technique to help him with espionage.
