I love that Oda is setting up how shanks is a direct foil of his family’s beliefs. How Garling despises those who protect the “scum”. In contrast to shanks who protects any pirate with a good heart, no matter their worth.
Yes, Oda loves to play with the dualities of family lineages. With the donquixote family: Doffy is pure evil while his brother is morally good. Shanks is also altruistically good while his relative seems to be heartless. It’s good to keep these dualisms in mind, I don’t think Oda is finished with duality at all in his story. Same can be said for foreshadowing.
@@hirudinaria I don't think the duality there is hero vs villain so much as that Dragon cares about bringing about systemic change to solve the evils of the Celestial Dragons, whereas Luffy just wants to beat up anyone who messes with his friends. The irony, of course, is that in pursuing the latter Luffy will achieve the former without really trying.
Ironic that Garling Figarland says that people who protect "scum" are lower than the "scum" they protect. What does that say about him and the God's Knights?
A little detail I think will fly under people's radar: We see exclamations of "There's no bread! There's no Water!", indicating that the food shortage is quite bad. But we also see an exclamation of "All we have is cake!". Which I think is a nice reference to what Marie-Antoinette supposedly said: "Let them have cake!", in response to her being told that her servants don't have anything to eat. I find that quite ironic.
It is important to note that the Tenryubito are starting to notice the lack of food from the revolutionaries' actions, they don't have bread anymore, only cake. In a few more chapters worth of time, they'll probably have even less food, they're on a clock for action.

Something to keep in mind: There are Eastern astrological considerations with the planets Oda could be drawing from as well. Mars (火星) is also associated with fire, red, summer, and the Vermillion bird. Venus is (金星) associated with metal/gold, color white (think about what color Ethan V. Nasujuro is wearing) and can also refer to money (finance). The planets are named after the Chinese five elements in Japanese. It's interesting to think which cultures he may take inspiration from!
The chapter before this one was crazy. But honestly, this one is also crazy, it's just more low-key about it. Here are the things I find astounding with this chapter: - Getting a name for the weapon that nuked Lulusia. - The names of the members of the Gorosei (mind you, they were first shown nearly 900 chapters ago and it took that long to reveal their names). - The reveal of S-Flamingo, S-Bat and S-Crocodile. - The family name of Imu. Not only that, but Ivankov is the one revealing it, implying that Ivankov and Dragon have some degree of knowledge about the Void Century (Robin told them?). - Ivankov openly stating the fan-theory about Imu having been made immortal by the eternal youth surgery of the Op-Op Fruit. - The reveal that the Mother Flame was somehow created by Vegapunk. - The introduction of Figarland Garling. Former king of God Valley, current leader of the God's Knights, and very likely the father of Shanks. Absolutely juicy stuff, the one month break couldn't have come at a worse time to give us a huge cliffhanger, but the wait will be worth it for Oda to get better!

The reverie happened a month ago or more, luffys bounty already went up after wano which happened way after the reverie, so his bounty wouldn’t go up at all, especially again after wano over a month later

For the whole thing of Imu saying "because its close proximity" to vaporize Lulusia I personally didn't see it as the attack happening during the phone call being just a coincidence and more Imu reminding the Gorosei who is in charge. Basically Imu going "Did I stutter?" by giving such a banal answer when the Gorosei asked him why destroy that island. Like yeah he could have said that Sabo was on that island but part of the idea is that if Imu wants an island to be eradicated it shall be so no matter if there is a reason or not Specially since narrative wise it doesn't make much sense for such a timing to be a pure coincidence

Koza is almost definitely the one in charge in Alabasta right now if we aren't considering some character that may exist as part of the staff that we just never saw or something. I'm surprised Tekking of all people forgot that Koza is actually a part of the kingdom's government now. He is the environmental minister of Alabasta now, I believe it was confirmed on one of the "from the decks of the world" cover pages a while ago. So, yeah, his talent in leadership combined with him being one of the country's top officials means that he's likely the person left in charge temporarily while the royals and their guards went to the Reverie.
I agree because remember, Koza was the leader of the revolutionaries. He was the leader that the people reallied behind. Who else would be qualified to stand in for the royal family when they're not there. Also, it might be training for when he marries Vivi and rules with her.😂
You know judging by Dragon's words regarding Vegapunk's motive for creating Mother Flame and knowing his direct naive persona. This gives more credence to the idea the "Ancient Weapons" weren't intentionally meant to be weapons at first.
Everything Vegapunk has made is a killing machine snd he does it for science. Franky’s mentor even says to Franky that making killer robots is ok as long as they don’t kill. It seems less that AW weren’t meant to be used as weapons rather it was thought they could be used without killing. And, like with Franky and Vegapunk, it went wrong.

He does show a lot of evidence that he's morally upstanding and trying to do good as well as his passion for science. The Pacifista's were meant to be a deterrent not just terminators (plus it was with Kuma's permission), Seraphim a direct answer to the idea of the Warlords that went out of control (Croc and Doffy), the weather machine, Punk Records, etc. It's mainly a Franky situation like you mentioned.

Out of all the warlords it’s possible Moria’s could be on par with an emperor considering that he dealt a major enough blow to Kaido that if Oden was there he may not have been alive or would’ve been ousted from Wano. So S Bat I’d say is on par with S Hawk least top 2

Somebody noted that Figarland Garling looks remarkably similar to Crescent Moon Galley, one of the early enemies that Oda designed for the original Romance Dawn series. Garling also sounds almost like Galley so that's pretty cool. Shanks protects the weak and his viewpoint directly contradicts Garling's viewpoint. Looking forward to another God's Knight video or one on that theory!
Crescent Moon Galley also showed up in Logue Town, robbing the port before heading to the Grand Line, but he was arrested by Smoker. I'm not sure if this was anime filler, but it was in the episode where Smoker was introduced. He arrested Galley with the Plum-Plum fruit, but it was kept vague as to not spoil the inevitable confrontation with Luffy.

I think attacking Lulusia was a tactical response, Imu knew Sabo was injured and the nearest island (or one of) would be probably the most logical conclusion for where he'd end up as he'd need medical attention as soon as possible. Imu might not be able to tell where he went but is likely intelligent enough to figure it out. That's the feeling I got from the way Imu seemed to be speaking when asked why
the people of Lulusia also have been a bit rebellious after being saved by the revolutionary, so Imu just straight up erased them before the revolutionaries got more allies so two birds in one stone...
Not only because Lulsia is close, but also probably because it's the closest kingdom that is sided with the revolutionaries. Narrowing it down, it would be the most logical that Sabo would go there.

We were introduced to the nobles by having them shoot people over the slightest transgression. This is absolutely in a similar vein to that.

Well, Nefatari D. lily could be said as Nefatari Dragon Lily. Interesting enough, a dragon lily is originally found in Greece, Crete, on the Aegean Islands...So the ancient kingdom was ruled by the dragon clan and the devils fruits were actually called dragonfruits. dragonfruits in real life look like devil fruits in one piece.

Isn't actually a middle name but a representation of a group or clan. Eg. Monkey D. Luffy coukd be said like, Monkey Luffy of the Dragon clan/kingdom/people. Something along those lines. Everyone that has the D in thier name might mean thier family supported this mysterious group.

@@potatorisa Vegapunk said he can't develop an infinite energy source, and knowing how perfectionist he is (Momo's fruit is a failure because the dragon is pink LOL) then it's safe to assume he got close enough but considered it a failure because the energy is not eternal. Keep in mind the reason they nuked Lulusia was because of "it's close proximity", which could be due to the energy source not giving the weapon enough range of operations yet.
@@honkworld9405 no the weapon went there, it was closer to them so it wouldn't take long for it to fly there. the weapon. i think if they only got the energy source from Vegapi they wouldn't refer to it as his "invention" because you cannot really invent energy source. The energy came down like a rain from that weapon, it wasn't used from Mariejoeis. I like to think based on things we know and see written already instead of imagining stuff and guessing. Vegapunk would never even give the WG the energy source even if it wasn't complete. I find it more probable that York secretly worked on this. Based on what we know... plus York is also a Vegapunk and has his knowledge.

As a Romanian, the castle in the background of Lulusia looks like a mix between Bran (Dracula's) Castle and Corvin Castle, both in Transylvania. The ship that arrives later at Kamabakka also has some towers on it that look very similar to the ones on Bran Castle. Also Seki can be related to the Szekely people who are the Hungarian ethnic minority in Transylvania.
@@jamesakin9996 I think it's definitely worth visiting, particularly Transylvania with the gorgeous mountains, castles and medieval cities like Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara. It's relatively cheap too compared to much of Western Europe.
I think that the Mother Flame will be an experimental power source for Uranus. It would explain why the WG haven't used it up until this point in the story and connect back to Vegapunk's quest to find the ancient powersource.
I think you're close. They hint that Vegapunk wouldn't have built an ancient weapon knowingly. I think they're implying that he thought he was building an infinite power source for humanity, when he was actually building an ancient weapon (could be a prototype). This explains why Vegapunk is so bummed about the topic of the power source and why he thinks the government is going to off him beyond just the Seraphim being completed.
@@thegreenergrass66 Vegapunk is inspired by Albert Einstein who was most famous for his equation E=mc^2, this equation is used to calculate how much energy is released during nuclear fusion. I think he was under the impression that he was building a fusion reactor to help the world but instead it’s being used to power the mother flame.

I feel like Koza is 100% the defacto leader of alabasta, he makes the most sense and they can say there was another "rebellion" so that the wg thinks the nefertari are no longer in power there. Vivi is most likely going to join up with the straw hats as it is the safest place for her with cp0 after her.
The bilge is a section below the ship that houses and water that may deep in, a bilge pump is used to empty the space every few hours of sailing. On old Woden ships it was “the bucket line” every few hours
I can't believe mjordard is going to get taken out. But in his short time on screen he did so much and made Luffy even more fearsome. Hopefully we can see sai and baby 5 again when the major incident happens.

A bilge is a space under the lower deck/inside-bottom of boats and ships. Ships naturally take on small amounts of water from waves and rain, which collects at the bottom of the boat, so there is usually a bilge pump that removes the accumulated water.
The fact that Morgans seems to never leave his hybrid form atleast in public is weird. It makes me wonder if it's someone the WG would recognize and he's hiding his true identity.
@@deathman5678 As far as we know all the minks are mammals. Morgans always appears in his zoan type hybrid form so we don't know what he actually looks like. I just find it weird because no one else does that. Zoans can stay in whatever form seemingly as long as they want but most tend to revert back to normal when they aren't using it. It could be nothing but knowing Oda Morgans could be someone hiding behind his bird form.
Based on what Ivankov said in the chapter, I would think that Imu had Uranus the whole time, the only reason they didn't use it until now is because it has no power source, Vegapunk's Mother Flame being the replacement that made it active for the first time since the Void Century.

This might be the most important One Piece chapter of all time! The Gorosei’s names are so dumb but also so badass in the way that only Oda knows how to do and get away with. They’re perfect. I noticed the names are “Shepard,” “Topman,” “Baron,” and “Saint.” Is there a nobility higherarchy among the celestial dragons, like in English nobility, with different titles? But I honestly think that the most important part of this chapter is that reveal of Figarland Garling, who is both the Supreme Commander of the God’s Knights _and_ the form king of God Valley, who is also presumed to be Shanks’ father since _One Piece Film: Red._ R.I.P. Going to put this out there. I don't think this Mother Flame is the weapon used, but rather its power source. Vegapunk did say that ancient kingdom tech did run on a sort of "flame". If we assume this IS Uranos, then it would explain why they waited until now to bust it out: they didn't have any way to properly power it until now. We've seen that he calls Momo's fruit a failure because he didn't get the color right despite being a blow for blow match- ability-wise. Vegapunk could have put out a "flame" close enough for the WG's purposes (powering their ancient weapon), but falling short of his own standards. In fact, I'm going to call it. This is exactly what happened and Vegapunk has written it off as a failure because the real flame and his copy of it are different colors!

I feel like Imu ACTUALLY used the original Uranus, but only was able to thanks to Vegapunk's Mother Flame, being a beta for the "eternal flame" Lilith talked about. Basically Uranus was out of juice since the void century and Vegapunk found a way to power it if only temporarily

i think hes referring to im as the “creator” is because hes potentially responsible for the void century and was the who got rid of original joyboy. he inevitably eradicated both the ancient kingdom’s light and joyboy’s light because he can’t die. he’s immortal. and with that power, the world was under his rule and corruption spread rapidly throughout the world with no one to prevent it. everything is the way it is because imu made it that way. that is why he’s the creator. he’s the creator of the dark age.

It gets really fun because Nero entertained the commoners and was hated by the Elites. And Imu has a SH hidden away. I think the original Imu was Joy Boy. And that’s the secret.
Some theorise that the Beast in the Book of Revelations was a refernce to Nero. Maybe that has to do something with Imu's giant form? (Also, the Beast said to have emerged from the sea, which can also play nicely into the Mother Sea/Sea Devil theories.)

I could see the Mother Flame that destroyed Lulusia actually being like a miniature sun that's supposed to keep people warm during winter. Something innocent that was warped into a weapon. Like Einstein and nuclear power. When we get back, I'm expecting to get back to the Strawhats on Egghead. It will have been like 4 months since we saw them at that point.
So, I'm pretty sure Shanks is actually called Saint Figarland Shanks and Saint Garling is probably his father. I really hope we get to see a battle at the end of One Piece between Shanks and Garling. It would fit nicely into the "found family" theme of One Piece. Garling is his biological father, but Roger was his real father.
If it follows real world logic he's more likely called something different, there's no reason the pirates that found him in a treasure chest as a baby would know his actual name, so Shanks is probably the name Roger gave him and his father gave him a different name we haven't heard yet... but also this is anime and they might want to keep it simple and just stick with Shanks. Who knows?
I think the implication with Vegapunk and the weapon is that the World Government had one of the ancient weapons, but it didn't work because it had no power. However, Vegapunk created a power source, which was then used by the World Government to power the weapon. Vegapunk's source is probably not good enough to use the weapon all the time, so they are limited on how much they can use it.
I think Imu picked lulusia because sabo couldn’t have gone far from mariejoa and maybe lulusia is the closest island so maybe he’s just guessing that’s where sabo would end up
In the chapter they show a map image that places lulusia very close to kamabaka queendom. It makes sense that imu would know where the revolutionary army is stationed or at least has a good idea. So sabo heading back would probably stop at lulusia, nuke it just in case.

I don't think it was out of empathy but rather practicality. Like if Imu nukes an entire populated island the Gorosei are the ones that have to deal with the cleanup and fallout of that. It would just be simpler to test it out on a deserted island, but Imu has to have their way.

Imu could have everlasting life. We were told the user of the Op-Op fruit could give someone immortality. Imu could have been granted immortality from a previous user of the Op-Op Fruit. With Doflamingo being a former Celestial Dragon, this could be where he knew about the fruit. Now I'm wondering if Law, the current Op-Op Fruit user, could remove Imu's immortality.
Gorbachev Gorosei's name is spelled トップマン・ヴォーキュリー, which is closer to being read as "Topman Volcury/Vōcury". "Valkyrie" in Japanese katakana is spelled ワルキューレ or ヴァルキュリー. It's sort of similar to each other but different for a reason, cuz you take マ (Ma) from トップマン (Topman) and ーキュリー (-cury) from ヴォーキュリー (Volcury) and form the word, as you guessed, Maacury/マーキュリー (Mercury) V. Nasujuro is pretty self-explanatory. V. Nasu = Venus The "Ju" in Sheperd Ju Peter is actually a kanji for 10, ju/十. Personally not sure the rationale behind that choice of name, but thought I should point it out. And yes, in JP raw, they all had "-sei" attached to all their names. So it's just that whatever translation you saw forgot to put them probably.

Those are the 2 expanations, but also it could be both. Vegapunk developed a power source to use the ancient weapon which they had this whole time but weren't able to power up.

Something that occurred to me while listening to you, what if Imu, as the Sea God, doesn't just have the properties of the ocean won't attacking, they're the actual cause of devil fruit ocean weakness. I think this would be really fitting for the theme of freedom in one piece cuz if Luffy overcomes Imu it would mean all devil fruit users are free to explore the ocean again.
The Imu being "Umi" theory doesn't hold water (pun intended) if you know your Japanese.. yes Umi is Japanese for ocean, but you cannot reverse the Katakana for Imu to create Umi, if you reverse the Katakana Imu becomes Mui. My theory is that Imu has the Mythical Zoan Hito Hito no Mi Model Kaguya, because Princess Kaguya was confirmed to be canon in an SBS about Pandaman. I've been rereading lately, and in Volume 3, during Buggy's flashback with Shanks, Shanks said something really interesting that caught my attention. I think this is really relevant to him and Luffy finally meeting again. He is speaking with Buggy about going your own way being key to being a pirate. Then he also agrees to fight Buggy to a fight to the finish if they meet as captains on the seas, he says that's also what being a pirate is about. And now I can't stop thinking about him fighting Luffy and everyone thinking he's a God's Knight

Yes, Oda loves to play with the dualities of family lineages. With the donquixote family: Doffy is pure evil while his brother is morally good. Shanks is also altruistically good while his relative seems to be heartless. It’s good to keep these dualisms in mind, I don’t think Oda is finished with duality at all in his story. Same can be said for foreshadowing.

A little detail I think will fly under people's radar: We see exclamations of "There's no bread! There's no Water!", indicating that the food shortage is quite bad. But we also see an exclamation of "All we have is cake!". Which I think is a nice reference to what Marie-Antoinette supposedly said: "Let them have cake!", in response to her being told that her servants don't have anything to eat. I find that quite ironic.

Something to keep in mind: There are Eastern astrological considerations with the planets Oda could be drawing from as well. Mars (火星) is also associated with fire, red, summer, and the Vermillion bird. Venus is (金星) associated with metal/gold, color white (think about what color Ethan V. Nasujuro is wearing) and can also refer to money (finance). The planets are named after the Chinese five elements in Japanese. It's interesting to think which cultures he may take inspiration from!
The chapter before this one was crazy. But honestly, this one is also crazy, it's just more low-key about it. Here are the things I find astounding with this chapter:
- Getting a name for the weapon that nuked Lulusia.
- The names of the members of the Gorosei (mind you, they were first shown nearly 900 chapters ago and it took that long to reveal their names).
- The reveal of S-Flamingo, S-Bat and S-Crocodile.
- The family name of Imu. Not only that, but Ivankov is the one revealing it, implying that Ivankov and Dragon have some degree of knowledge about the Void Century (Robin told them?).
- Ivankov openly stating the fan-theory about Imu having been made immortal by the eternal youth surgery of the Op-Op Fruit.
- The reveal that the Mother Flame was somehow created by Vegapunk.
- The introduction of Figarland Garling. Former king of God Valley, current leader of the God's Knights, and very likely the father of Shanks.
Absolutely juicy stuff, the one month break couldn't have come at a worse time to give us a huge cliffhanger, but the wait will be worth it for Oda to get better!
I thought it was much better and more important than last chapter, I wasn't really a fan of the shadows tbh, felt a bit awkward to hint at their forms but not show them
Garling probably also gave whitebeard his scar at god valley, given WB's interaction with shanks about it.
Their knowledge from the Void Century is probably from Ohara, since we saw Dragon there during Vegapunk's flashback. Ivankov was reading a book called "Genesis" which is likely about the creation of the current system.

For the whole thing of Imu saying "because its close proximity" to vaporize Lulusia I personally didn't see it as the attack happening during the phone call being just a coincidence and more Imu reminding the Gorosei who is in charge.
Basically Imu going "Did I stutter?" by giving such a banal answer when the Gorosei asked him why destroy that island. Like yeah he could have said that Sabo was on that island but part of the idea is that if Imu wants an island to be eradicated it shall be so no matter if there is a reason or not
Specially since narrative wise it doesn't make much sense for such a timing to be a pure coincidence
- The Gorosei were first introduced in Ch.233 which came out in 2002 so it took about 21 years for us to get their names
- Koza is the environmental minister of the Arabasta Kingdom this was informed to us in cover story Deck of the Wars Ch.638
- Figarland Garling reminds me of "Crescent-Moon" Gally the Pirate from the first Romance Dawn one-shot
- Funny the only one I got right by the name is Gandhi being Venus, but during this chapter I was reminded of Artur’s fan manga of what happened during the Revire he gave Valkyrie a mercury Devil Fruit
Koza is almost definitely the one in charge in Alabasta right now if we aren't considering some character that may exist as part of the staff that we just never saw or something. I'm surprised Tekking of all people forgot that Koza is actually a part of the kingdom's government now. He is the environmental minister of Alabasta now, I believe it was confirmed on one of the "from the decks of the world" cover pages a while ago. So, yeah, his talent in leadership combined with him being one of the country's top officials means that he's likely the person left in charge temporarily while the royals and their guards went to the Reverie.
I agree because remember, Koza was the leader of the revolutionaries. He was the leader that the people reallied behind. Who else would be qualified to stand in for the royal family when they're not there. Also, it might be training for when he marries Vivi and rules with her.😂
You know judging by Dragon's words regarding Vegapunk's motive for creating Mother Flame and knowing his direct naive persona. This gives more credence to the idea the "Ancient Weapons" weren't intentionally meant to be weapons at first.
Everything Vegapunk has made is a killing machine snd he does it for science. Franky’s mentor even says to Franky that making killer robots is ok as long as they don’t kill. It seems less that AW weren’t meant to be used as weapons rather it was thought they could be used without killing. And, like with Franky and Vegapunk, it went wrong.

Out of all the warlords it’s possible Moria’s could be on par with an emperor considering that he dealt a major enough blow to Kaido that if Oden was there he may not have been alive or would’ve been ousted from Wano. So S Bat I’d say is on par with S Hawk least top 2

Somebody noted that Figarland Garling looks remarkably similar to Crescent Moon Galley, one of the early enemies that Oda designed for the original Romance Dawn series. Garling also sounds almost like Galley so that's pretty cool. Shanks protects the weak and his viewpoint directly contradicts Garling's viewpoint. Looking forward to another God's Knight video or one on that theory!
Crescent Moon Galley also showed up in Logue Town, robbing the port before heading to the Grand Line, but he was arrested by Smoker. I'm not sure if this was anime filler, but it was in the episode where Smoker was introduced. He arrested Galley with the Plum-Plum fruit, but it was kept vague as to not spoil the inevitable confrontation with Luffy.

I think attacking Lulusia was a tactical response, Imu knew Sabo was injured and the nearest island (or one of) would be probably the most logical conclusion for where he'd end up as he'd need medical attention as soon as possible. Imu might not be able to tell where he went but is likely intelligent enough to figure it out. That's the feeling I got from the way Imu seemed to be speaking when asked why
the people of Lulusia also have been a bit rebellious after being saved by the revolutionary, so Imu just straight up erased them before the revolutionaries got more allies

Interesting enough, a dragon lily is originally found in Greece, Crete, on the Aegean Islands...So the ancient kingdom was ruled by the dragon clan and the devils fruits were actually called dragonfruits. dragonfruits in real life look like devil fruits in one piece.

Vegapunk would never even give the WG the energy source even if it wasn't complete. I find it more probable that York secretly worked on this. As a Romanian, the castle in the background of Lulusia looks like a mix between Bran (Dracula's) Castle and Corvin Castle, both in Transylvania. The ship that arrives later at Kamabakka also has some towers on it that look very similar to the ones on Bran Castle. Also Seki can be related to the Szekely people who are the Hungarian ethnic minority in Transylvania.

I think you're close. They hint that Vegapunk wouldn't have built an ancient weapon knowingly. I think they're implying that he thought he was building an infinite power source for humanity, when he was actually building an ancient weapon (could be a prototype). This explains why Vegapunk is so bummed about the topic of the power source and why he thinks the government is going to off him beyond just the Seraphim being completed.

A bilge is a space under the lower deck/inside-bottom of boats and ships. Ships naturally take on small amounts of water from waves and rain, which collects at the bottom of the boat, so there is usually a bilge pump that removes the accumulated water.

This might be the most important One Piece chapter of all time! The Gorosei’s names are so dumb but also so badass in the way that only Oda knows how to do and get away with. They’re perfect. I noticed the names are “Shepard,” “Topman,” “Baron,” and “Saint.” Is there a nobility higherarchy among the celestial dragons, like in English nobility, with different titles? But I honestly think that the most important part of this chapter is that reveal of Figarland Garling, who is both the Supreme Commander of the God’s Knights _and_ the form king of God Valley, who is also presumed to be Shanks’ father since _One Piece Film: Red._ R.I.P. Mjosgard

Going to put this out there. I don't think this Mother Flame is the weapon used, but rather its power source.
Vegapunk did say that ancient kingdom tech did run on a sort of "flame". If we assume this IS Uranos, then it would explain why they waited until now to bust it out: they didn't have any way to properly power it until now. We've seen that he calls Momo's fruit a failure because he didn't get the color right despite being a blow for blow match- ability-wise. Vegapunk could have put out a "flame" close enough for the WG's purposes (powering their ancient weapon), but falling short of his own standards. In fact, I'm going to call it. This is exactly what happened and Vegapunk has written it off as a failure because the real flame and his copy of it are different colors!

So, I'm pretty sure Shanks is actually called Saint Figarland Shanks and Saint Garling is probably his father. I really hope we get to see a battle at the end of One Piece between Shanks and Garling. It would fit nicely into the "found family" theme of One Piece. Garling is his biological father, but Roger was his real father.
If it follows real world logic he's more likely called something different, there's no reason the pirates that found him in a treasure chest as a baby would know his actual name, so Shanks is probably the name Roger gave him and his father gave him a different name we haven't heard yet... but also this is anime and they might want to keep it simple and just stick with Shanks. Who knows?
I think the implication with Vegapunk and the weapon is that the World Government had one of the ancient weapons, but it didn't work because it had no power. However, Vegapunk created a power source, which was then used by the World Government to power the weapon. Vegapunk's source is probably not good enough to use the weapon all the time, so they are limited on how much they can use it.
I think Imu picked lulusia because sabo couldn’t have gone far from mariejoa and maybe lulusia is the closest island so maybe he’s just guessing that’s where sabo would end up
In the chapter they show a map image that places lulusia very close to kamabaka queendom.
It makes sense that imu would know where the revolutionary army is stationed or at least has a good idea. So sabo heading back would probably stop at lulusia, nuke it just in case.

Gorbachev Gorosei's name is spelled トップマン・ヴォーキュリー, which is closer to being read as "Topman Volcury/Vōcury". "Valkyrie" in Japanese katakana is spelled ワルキューレ or ヴァルキュリー. It's sort of similar to each other but different for a reason, cuz you take マ (Ma) from トップマン (Topman) and ーキュリー (-cury) from ヴォーキュリー (Volcury) and form the word, as you guessed, Maacury/マーキュリー (Mercury)

The "Ju" in Sheperd Ju Peter is actually a kanji for 10, ju/十. Personally not sure the rationale behind that choice of name, but thought I should point it out.

Those are the 2 expanations, but also it could be both. Vegapunk developed a power source to use the ancient weapon which they had this whole time but weren't able to power up.

Something that occurred to me while listening to you, what if Imu, as the Sea God, doesn't just have the properties of the ocean won't attacking, they're the actual cause of devil fruit ocean weakness. I think this would be really fitting for the theme of freedom in one piece cuz if Luffy overcomes Imu it would mean all devil fruit users are free to explore the ocean again.
The Imu being "Umi" theory doesn't hold water (pun intended) if you know your Japanese.. yes Umi is Japanese for ocean, but you cannot reverse the Katakana for Imu to create Umi, if you reverse the Katakana Imu becomes Mui. My theory is that Imu has the Mythical Zoan Hito Hito no Mi Model Kaguya, because Princess Kaguya was confirmed to be canon in an SBS about Pandaman.
Princess Kaguya is the deity of the moon in Japanese folklore, and wouldn't the moon deity be the polar opposite to Luffy having the Nika "Sun God" zoan?
If he's former king of God Valley, that means there's a large chance that the Celestial Dragon protected by Garp was this guy who wanted to visit his old kingdom (strictly speaking if we're saying member of God's Knights can only be CD) I can't wait to see the back story of God Valley. I've been rereading lately, and in Volume 3, during Buggy's flashback with Shanks, Shanks said something really interesting that caught my attention. I think this is really relevant to him and Luffy finally meeting again.
He is speaking with Buggy about going your own way being key to being a pirate. Then he also agrees to fight Buggy to a fight to the finish if they meet as captains on the seas, he says that's also what being a pirate is about. And now I can't stop thinking about him fighting Luffy and everyone thinking he's a God's Knight

Crazy theory. What if the Elder Stars and their secret puppet master are planning a war on Desire itself? Desire is a trait of free will and independent thought, neither of which lines up with how the current World Government is being handled by the top brass. On top of that, Desire was said to be a factor in the origins of Devil Fruit. And in the same arc, Vegapunk revealed that he split parts of himself into separate bodies to help with his work. Including York, who he made using his trait of Desire. I'm wondering if York wanting the life of a Celestial Dragon is the result of the Elder Stars manipulating her as part of an elaborate plan to study her and figure out more about Desire and how to get rid of it.
