As someone who feels the music to their core, I appreciate the pace of bye-bye because distracts me from crying in certain moments of the song. I find that i can just start to bob my head and hold the tears back while One sweet day I can’t even listen to that one anymore. The older I get the more people I’ve lost. This song just keeps it moving so you don’t dwell and start bawling your eyes out. I am also so excited you reacted to heat I have waited and waited for people to react to this and suggested it so many times, but no one ever does!!!! The lambs called this style of hers “ Hoodriah”
Yes! 4real4real is a literal bop! The harmonies, the layers, the production, her vocals, and Da Brat's rap verses were perfect! This song is so much better than some of the actual tracks from the album - Last Kiss, O.O.C, Cruise Control, Side Effects, Love Story, etc.
Bye Bye was actually the single she released after Touch My Body and most Lambs agree that the second single from this album should have been either Migrate or I’m That Chick. It would have made the album so much more successful. Plus, Migrate charted on the Hot 100 despite it not being a single back in 2008 which was very rare during pre-streaming times.
For me, I feel like Bye Bye is that song that after some time has passed, yet you're still sad and miss them, you can now smile when you think of them.
@ No. Mariah has already spoken on record that the song was written as a tribute to her father. Enjoy it however you want, but avoid spinning false narratives. Nabokov has already warned us about such misreadings in Pale Fire.
Mariah wasn't married to Nick when the album came out. They started dating and getting married after making the video of Bye Bye. She was extremely happy during the recording session and promotion of E=MC². The miscarriage happened during the release of "I Stay In Love".
The song is about her dad and it can also be about good memories with someone you lost in the past like your friends or family members and I lost a lot of family members in the past and there were songs that I played one of them was from the set it off (1996) soundtrack which was missing you by brandy, Tamia, and the two older legend queens Gladys Knight and Chaka khan and then i would play bye bye by Mariah Carey and close my eyes and just picture that they are still alive...
The J O’ Door was opened!! Now react to Mariah Vs JLow’s feud scandal!! Something in the music industry’s history to learn from. Feud, sabotage, entertainment and the media manipulation painting Mariah as someone loosing a screw in the head!!
I’ve re-listened to Memoirs ahead of your reaction. I’ve forgotten what a solid r&b album she gave us. Top to bottom it is fantastic. Can’t wait to see your reaction to Angels Cry.
@@got2bjoshso if he accidentaly skipped he's reedeming himself on adding the song? There's no need to complain. And about Cool On You he may react to The Rarities album after Caution reaction
Prince has some super deluxe releases (with 40 to 60 extra songs-that we’re not used when he put his albums together originally.) that is left over music at a time when Prince released 3 to 4 albums a year under different bands and artist names.
I love her bonus songs. I love when her songs are different from her usual style and I also love her writing in those songs. They are funny to me because she goes off on people. I can't wait for her new album.
I wonder if you would have liked Bye Bye more in the context of the album. I think it fits really well between For The Record and I Wish You Well. Bye Bye was actually the song that made me discover Mariah, so it’ll always hold a special place in my heart. Agree, sometimes an album is perfect the way it is and doesn’t need bonus tracks. Although watching this video has made me rediscover 4Real4Real. I’m definitely going to revisit that one again!
So, those aren’t really deluxe versions. I believe they were international tracks tacked on but never released in the US. Only during Covid and MC 30 did she add these previously unreleased tracks. Honestly, she could’ve kept them. lol
I honestly always loved Bye Bye because it's still sad but at the same time it doesn't make you cry your soul out. It's such a cute song. Should it be a single, especialy second? I don't think so. I'm not a big fan of the bonus tracks, they're cute anyway ❤️🦋

You cannot make me hate these songs! They are good AF especially 4real4real!
Exactly same!!!!

i love 4real 4real is so funny and the melody is good
That’s correct!!! That’s the sound of ultrasound of Mariah’s miscarriage baby
😞 She’s so strong
The song is a tribute to her father who passed away. It's basically Sunflowers, part deux.
@@got2bjoshsomehow yes, since it talks about every person she lost. But mainly for her baby

Unpopular opinion. Bye bye is one of my favorites from the album
I feel like "E=MC2" is her album that sounds the most "of the moment" and the sound of time (2008?).
The 4real 4real slander. 😞
Bye bye and 4real 4real are bops!!!!

Bye bye & 4real4real are my faves from this album! I listen to these more than any of the other songs!
Calling Bye Bye unserious triggered some real anger in me, the whole analysis... was almost an unsub, oof
They are grower. Bye bye is actually not that bad.
I didnt like it at first but i love it now
Same, I love it

All 3 of those songs are top tier! They might be growers for you.
Should've included Cool on You. Bye Bye was not a bonus track. It became a top 20 hit.
If you watched either video you’ll understand why I reacted to Bye Bye here

4Real 4Real has the best vocals on the album in terms of layering and variety. She slayed that!

Bye bye hits so hard. You just haven’t experienced loss enough to get it - all 3 songs are perfection.
Very weird take. You have no idea how much loss I’ve experienced
For the record's ending sounds like bye bye intro
Am i trippin or somethin?
I think I'm fine with the upbeat production on Byebye . What I can't get over is the "eyyyy" in the background
Girl, bye 👋 👋 bye😂
The thumbnail you’re going to eat those words one day.
I wonder if her phrase in 4Real "more than a million" was her tribute to Aaliyah?!

I love that you love "Love Takes Time" . I used to listen to it in college before I took exams back in the early 90s. Don't ask why. Lol
