”Touch My Body" became Mariah’s eighteenth chart topper on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the solo artist with the most number one singles in United States history, surpassing the record held by Elvis Presley.
Mariah respects Taylor and has always said she’s a sweet gal and Taylor absolutely adores Mariah. She’s her biggest celebrity cheerleader at award shows when Mariah performs.

Yeah that’s mainly why so many people are able to connect with both of them. They wrote and produce not just a few songs but hundreds of songs. That’s pure talent
I wish You well is the last time she addressed her siblings directly publicly. Other than what she wrote in her memoirs this was kinda her goodbye to her brother and sister.
I was pleasantly surprised that you enjoyed this album. This is the album that I tend to come back to listen to the most. Mariah has been teasing us with a new album for like 3 years now so we should be getting one soon. But it is true that the industry is ageist. Caution was Mariah’s most critically acclaimed album but none of the singles charted or got much promotion from the label. Also, Mariah had recorded two country songs around the same time e=mc2 dropped for the movie Tennessee. The songs are called “Right to Dream” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night” it’s definitely worth a listen! Finally, Taylor and Mariah do speak highly of one another. There is a picture of them both at some gala in like 2009 or 2010.
This album is honestly Mariah just having fun, hence the album's title. Also, yes, you've reacted to Touch My Body as it was her 18th #1 song. Also, you forgot to react to Bye Bye, which i'm sure you'll be reacting to in the bonus track video. Also, i just want to mention that Mariah and Taylor did take a photo together back in 2008, right after this album was released. Taylor was also jamming to Mariah and gave Mariah support on the Billboard Music Awards 2019. Mariah always says the nicest things about Taylor, too. I think they respect each other as an artist. And no, i'm not mad at you for referencing Taylor.
E is one of my favorite albums. Mariah was writing hooks for the moment- something she rarely does. So the albums sounds of the moment, but will always be catchy.
I do think Mariah influence Taylor maybe not significantly. There's a video of Taylor jamming to Mariah's melody of hits at the Billboard music award where Mariah accepted billboard icon award, you should check it out. As a songwriter Taylor would definitely appreciate Mariah's too.
I just realized after he said Taylor and Mariah’s careers are somewhat similar I noticed that in love story she says chapter 2. And Taylor says next chapter in the story of us. These are the only 2 times I’ve ever heard someone sing like it’s reading a book. Interesting and cool! Love them both so much
We, a mini fan group in northern of Thailand, waited and bought the CD together when it released. It was during university life. I think you’d really enjoy Sarah McLaughlin especially Fumbling Towards Ecstasy and on. Her song writing, guitar and piano playing and voice are all soo soft, other worldly and powerful at the same time. Very haunting
this album has jewels on it, i'm glad you liked it. and please don't skip her 3rd christmas albums which is a soundtrack of her christmas special " Mariah carey's Magical Christimas" it has nice collabs, new redintions of her classics and brand new covers.
This was probably lyrics one of her most experimental albums where she just had fun. After the comeback of Emancipation of Mimi she had nothing to prove.
I love when he's so clueless about things he already knows lol!!!! Mariah has 2 country songs: Help me make it throught the night (AMAZING! and I hate country music) and Right to Dream. Mariah has A LOT OF dance tracks, she's the remix queen! Longer tracks? O.o what did happen to him? maybe it's TIMEEEEE for Mariah's magic. Yeah, Taylor Swift can't sing like some others, but she delivers what she's supposed to, and that's ok! not everybody needs a powerful voice to convey emotions through their songs.
Cool On You should’ve been on the album & probably should’ve been the second single. How do you (Mariah) randomly forget about that song? Problem with this era is they knew what the lead was going to be, but didn’t really have a solid 2nd single. Momentum stalled & she never had a music video quite as good as TMB. I love I Wish You Well. Insane phrased belts & whistles.
You are so right about Taylor, and Taylor genuine loves Mariah! If u understand singer - songwriters, then the mariah/taylor comparisons are accurate & complementary. Both ladies are true pop music phenomenon of their respective generations. I love how u get into the lyrics of this underrated album dude! Keep up the good work. ❤🎉😊
Before the album dropped, Mariah would say that The Emancipation of Mimi was the main course and E=MC2 is the dessert and that’s a nice way of summing up the project! Great reaction, Jacob! 💖
"Touch My Body" was her 18th #1, and she does have a sort of country song called "Right To Dream" that she wrote with Willie Nelson for the movie Tennessee that she played a country singer in, but honestly the song doesn't sound that country lol. She also has a cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make it Through the Night" that didn't end up being on the soundtrack.
