I’ve been using the Omniluxe mask on my face and neck for almost 2 years. It definitely works. But I purchased it knowing this is a long term game. That being said, I initially noticed results in a few months. And it is game changing for the neck area.
@naomihu9399 maysama green rooibos pressed serum has retinol and other ingredients. Its sold along with red lights. I bought a mitored light and it had a kit with the serum and the light. I may branch out to a cheaper serum, but figured I'd try this first.
True LED requires clean dry skin so the light can interact with the skin to create the changes. Serums aren’t used with true LED. Lightwave has developed a modality that is used in conjunction with specific products (ABI Dermaceuticals) that creates for the larger molecules to fold in on themselves so they can pass through the skin surface into the lower layers. Many ingredients have a Dalton size above 500/600 which means they can’t penetrate but sit on the skin. That’s ok for protective products. Treatment products to require absorption. LED can help with absorption. But unless the light has the Tooical Light Infusion modality, it should be used on clean skin - no serums. Serums are to be applied after. Be sure to apply a good antioxidant afterwards because ROS Reactive Oxidative Species (free radicals) are created and should be neutralized.
I've been using the Omnilux mask for two years, and my skin looks really good at 46. I maintain a very healthy lifestyle and follow a great skincare routine, so I'm not entirely sure how the mask contributes to my skin. However, even if it doesn't have a direct effect, I find it very relaxing to use, which at least benefits my nervous system. I use it every morning. Good skin results from a combination of factors, including adequate sleep, regular exercise, healthy eating habits, and effective stress management. It's a holistic approach, in my opinion.

I've been using the Project Beauty silicone mask for about half a year. I swear to God I could've been more consistent in using it, but it does yield great results and I've used it a lot to earn that opinion. Skin gets noticeably more glowy and brighter, no lines although I'm already in my 30s. Acne scars and skin tone have improved too. I do wish it does tighten my neck a little bit more since losing weight makes it look quite saggy. The thing about LED mask, just as does tretinoin, is that it needs time and consistency. It's a long game, but will be worth it at the end.
Enjoyed your take on red light therapy! It was the 1st at home modality I purchased for myself 7 years ago when I turned 50. I started with an Aduro mask, and when that gave up the ghost last November I purchased a Mojia mask. It has similar specs to the Omnilux (is Red LED and NIR) but a much more reasonable price point. I've used them consistently 4-5 times a week for the past 7 years and I do believe it helps my skin look fresh, plump and much younger than my age. I have never had any cosmetic procedures or treatments professionally. It does take commitment but I do feel relaxing with a red light each morning or evening which I hear can help you sleep better!) is pretty easy to fit into my schedule.

Thank you for taking the time to bring us this content! I was ready for you to say they don't work but I guess they can. Crazy to think some people use them all over their bodies like a solarium. I'm way too lazy for this though ✌🏼
I just discovered you yesterday (like Columbus "discovered" America)... I watched this yesterday and I'm commenting today because I'm still thinking about and appreciating your picture critique. They are obviously not showing realistic results, but you described how they can use undoctored photos, yet still be playing fast and loose with the truth. Thank you for that. When I was in high school, back in the Dark Ages well before cellphones, there was a course that dealt with things like truth in advertising and the like. I've always wished everyone had such a course. Thanks for adding to "how to think" literacy!
Possible Correction: You referenced a 2005 study at 2:23. The study you mentioned doesn't say anything about being randomized or placebo-controlled. Did you mean to refer to this 2007 study instead?: "A prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded, and split-face clinical study on LED phototherapy for skin rejuvenation: clinical, profilometric, histologic, ultrastructural, and biochemical evaluations and comparison of three different treatment settings"
It sure helps my skin. Using the Omnilux red light mask most days has practically cured my chronic coldsores, along with taking liposomal vitamin C. I used to have to take regular vaclcyclovir to manage the cold sores.
First time watching you and it’s an instant sub. I appreciate your honesty. I’ve had great results from using my omnilux but I’m not consistent with it. I will get back at it now. Happy New Year!
Why would you keep using it, if you didn't see any difference? 2 months is long enough to see results. If you don't see a change by then, it doesn't work!
I don’t think 10 minutes a day is enough , I do it 20-30 minutes each day because this led device is not powerful like the one that dermatologist haved
My problem with these devises are they damage the eyes. I stopped using my facial lightening devise because my eyesight got very blurred a long time after using it. I covered my eyes as instructed.
Yes, I've noticed on many of these product Before & After shots, the lighting is different. As you point out, that makes a big difference. Thanks for honest assessments. I can't afford to waste my $.
Doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. These are people who depend on their content for monetization. You think they’ll wait weeks and months to produce their video for result? There are so many data on photobiomodulation studies with amazing results.
Excellent video! I didn’t know about output intensity. I have a red light Device, 12 x 12 inches 633/850 but they don’t state the output intensity. Now I think it must be too low. I appreciate your science and honesty! 😊
Like most skin devices, this is best done by a doctor for a specific & appropriate purpose imo, NOT to be considered as a skincare cure-all. I’ve had this red light therapy done at my doctor’s clinic to help with the healing after a procedure. It really does help for about 2 weeks for that purpose compared to having just that procedure done. Without it, my open spots would be inflamed for longer leave dark spots. (Yes, I had photos taken professionally and consistently + tracked progress.) Really appreciate the nuances pointed out in this video. 👍
I really wanted your opinion on this before I decided to buy one because of how expensive these are but also because I wasn't sure if it worked. I find you more trustworthy so now that I know what you think someday I'll splurge on one!

You're a good and honest person. There are so few people left like you in the world, so I thank you for being YOU. I do have a few questions that I hope you can answer; 1. Are these devices dangerous for your eyes? 2. Is it safe for children that are breaking out with pimples? My daughter is 11 years old. 3. And lastly, you mention the Spectralite and the Omnilite, and one of them has quite a significantly higher output then the other, would that mean it'll produce better and faster results?
Hello Usama - I discovered your channel yesterday and subscribed 🎈 🎈 🎈I love your explanations and the fact you are not sponsored!!! Thanks for your excellent channel !!
I have a Project E Red light mask. Been using it for about 18months. 15 mins 3 times per week. Can't see much effect but that 15 mins lying down is a great way to get some relaxation in.
If light doesn't have effect on our skin, we wouldn't be able to make vitamin D from uvb exposure during midday. This fact alone should be a think piece for us to discover that all lights at any wavelength will have effect on skin, and overall, health. Yet, most dermatologists want us to avoid the sun. One of the reasons people get cancer is due to sun avoidance lifestyle (low vitamin D. VitD pills =/= sun). IR and NIR are also available from sunrise.
also plant growers, in greenhouses etc. use differently colored led lights (different light spectrum) to affect plants in different way during different parts of their "life", you can get more leaves this way, bigger fruit, more yield etc... so it works and does something to plants, it would be naive to think it does NOTHING to humans
I noticed that whenever I went to have treatment, the before photo had me tilting my head head down slightly and after photos they would ask me to tilt my head slightly up.

Absolutely agree - consistency is the missing ingredient in almost every skincare routine!
Duh in my 30s I had no signs of aging then boom at 47 my face went to hell! 🤣
Wait till you hit 66. 😂😂😂
I am blown away by your transparency. This is an amazing video. Consider me a fan for life💞
Thank you!!
This might be just what I need for my joint pain. Thanks for sharing!
This is the video I need it, thanks for referencing the studies !
Thank for your honest education! Please keep up the great work!
Homeboy talked about scientific stuff for 14 minutes without boring me.... Subscribed!
Btw, I actually love science videos, but, for me at least, doctors on youtube are usually way too boring 😑
Appreciate you 🙌🏼
Great breakdown! First time I’ve seen you’re videos. I love the scientific info. And I love that you get straight to the point and don’t ramble.
You are gonna have over 1 million subs. the quality of the content is so good!!
Ahh love the vote of confidence!
Thank you for taking the time to bring us this content! I was ready for you to say they don't work but I guess they can. Crazy to think some people use them all over their bodies like a solarium. I'm way too lazy for this though ✌🏼
haha I do love debunking stuff, but sometimes the science is actually there!
thank you for your honest take on Red light therapy.... I truly appreciate your breakdown of before and after photos..
Thanks for saying these pictures are not comparables. I can see an instant imporvement taking a selfie with and without the flash myself.
Thanks!
I've been reading up on this, and the science behind it is really interesting.
The most realistic non sponsored one in utube ( skincare ) you and Dr Vanita Rattan are the best !!! Keep up the good work .
I was hoping it didn’t do anything so I don’t feel like I should add something else to my routine 😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Thank you for your” no BS “ info . I love that you’re not being “ bribed” 👍👍
It sure helps my skin. Using the Omnilux red light mask most days has practically cured my chronic coldsores, along with taking liposomal vitamin C. I used to have to take regular vaclcyclovir to manage the cold sores.
which liposomal vit C do u take? how does it differ from using a topical vit C serum!
You are my new favorite youtuber. Thank you for explaining things in details. I know that i would be stupid enough to buy it
Wow. Thanks for the detailed specs! Much appreciated 😊👍
Really appreciate your honesty!!! Need this kind of unbiased opinion from a doc!
thank you!
Licensed esthetcian here and excited to have found your channel. At home I use the Spectralite Faceware Pro.
Well does it work well? Details please.
Great video! Love your clear scientific explanations and humour!
Thank you!
Red light about hairloss would be very helpfull if you want to share your knowledge with us.Thanks for your honest effort!
First time watching you and it’s an instant sub. I appreciate your honesty. I’ve had great results from using my omnilux but I’m not consistent with it. I will get back at it now. Happy New Year!
Continue to enjoy your content. Keep up the hard work doc!
Thanks man!
I’ve been using a curent body face red light mask for 3 years. 10 min a day and I don’t notice anything different in my skin
Why would you keep using it, if you didn't see any difference?
2 months is long enough to see results. If you don't see a change by then, it doesn't work!
@@sarahwhyld5596probably because she has already spent money and it’s difficult to give up
I don’t think 10 minutes a day is enough , I do it 20-30 minutes each day because this led device is not powerful like the one that dermatologist haved
Loving this first video I happened upon - you are such an authentic spirit, someone I'd hope to be friends with if that were possible!
Excellent video! I didn’t know about output intensity. I have a red light Device, 12 x 12 inches 633/850 but they don’t state the output intensity. Now I think it must be too low. I appreciate your science and honesty! 😊
I want to get one of those for winter!
(Yes, I had photos taken professionally and consistently + tracked progress.)
Really appreciate the nuances pointed out in this video. 👍
I really wanted your opinion on this before I decided to buy one because of how expensive these are but also because I wasn't sure if it worked. I find you more trustworthy so now that I know what you think someday I'll splurge on one!
Hooga actually has several handheld floodlight type devices for $39 + shipping and a small panel for less than $150. I have the redlight/infrared one and I am very happy. I don't have acne, botham getting pain relief from my basal thumb arthritis. It also worked great on an abscess on my dog, so much easier than soaking towel in hot water. Alex Fergus has tons of very helpful UA-cam reviews.
Because of you as a women i am following minimum skincare
Red light, blue light, I find it that entire spectrum of LED light helps and heals and balances my skin. I use this FAQ SWISS mask - fantastic!
Awesome doctor! not to mention you have sense of humor I love watching your Chanel for skincare knowledge. Thank you so much🙏
Thanks so much for keeping it real!
Really helpful as my daughter is considering buying one and I wasn’t sure that they were worthwhile.
Dr Syed, I first want to thank you for this FANTASTIC review! I instantly Subscribed. I gathered 4 things from this video; 1. You're funny! 2. You're incredibly intelligent. 3. You're logical. And 4.
Great video, thank you. Now i know what to look for in before & after pictures.
Thank you for acknowledging the fact that nearly ALL before and after pictures use different lighting, angles, etc. Drives me crazy!
I love your genuine content ❤
Hello Usama - I discovered your channel yesterday and subscribed 🎈 🎈 🎈I love your explanations and the fact you are not sponsored!!! Thanks for your excellent channel !!
Thank you!!
Thank you for your great informative videos. Love the humor you add , it really puts a lot of of things in perspective!
I have a Project E Red light mask. Been using it for about 18months. 15 mins 3 times per week. Can't see much effect but that 15 mins lying down is a great way to get some relaxation in.
😂 good for relaxation. Thanks for the honesty and the perseverance is admirable
I had that too, but project E isn't as strong. I believe I switched to omnilux men. Let's see what happens
Dr Syed! How I went from comparing running shoes to discovering you I don’t know but you are very funny and I am glad I discovered you! Super video!
Woo wooo alert
I noticed that whenever I went to have treatment, the before photo had me tilting my head head down slightly and after photos they would ask me to tilt my head slightly up.
Classic move!
Really appreciate your honest and informational review on red light. I feel that I have dark spots after using red lights, could you tell us more abt that too?
Have watched a ton of you tube videos trying to decide on which mask to get. This was probably the helpful, and definitely the most entertaining ☺️ thank you so much. Subscribed!
( most )
Very informative video and your knowledge is obviously good but you’re funny too. I like that 😊
Whew...you just saved me so much money. Thank you so much for your time and effort.
Don’t believe everything you watch
Thank you for your honest reviews. I appreciate this content and now l will bite the bullet and get the face mask rather than the hand held device.
FWIW, I noticed an improvement in my skin within the first 1-2 days with a solawave. I watched videos and looked at media articles that had before and afters good enough for me to be willing to buy it on sale.
