Thank you for making my Sunday morning (Australia is too ahead in time zone)! PS. A small correction. Not trying to be impolite or anything. Just for the sake of clarity. When the unit is mW/sq cm, it’s technically the radiant power per unit surface area, not per unit volume. But I get what you intended to mean.

I have experienced both improvement in my skin and remarkable improvement in my arthritis pain - I have a LED panel. Also my eyebrows and lashes have grown longer and fuller.
I couldn't be more pleased with Hairmax. I lost 75% of my elbow length hair after covid. The Dr said I would keep losing hair for 6-9 months (telogen effluvium). After 150 days using Hairmax daily, I have new growth that is 7cm long, and I need to color my roots in half the time. Omnilux has also made a noticeable difference in my forehead & crows-foot-area expression lines. It's easy to lay it over my face while I hit the snooze button once or twice in the morning.
Dr Idriss, you are truly the greatest derm out there! You are so honest, you’ve literally saved me a ton of money. I have been diagnosed with LPP and you addressed the multi purpose use of this device as I have thought all along, I’ll use it on my face, neck and head. 🤣 And yes, please do a review. The omnilux has been sitting in my cart since Boxing Day. Your husband is such a good sport, love you guys! Happy New Year! 🙏🏽❤️
Thank you so much for the information! I have been using Currentbody mask religiously for 6 weeks and I can obviously see the results. My skin looks so glowy and the texture feels so much refined and smooth. I’m 30 with hormonal acne from time to time and I noticed how this mask made it less inflamed. Also, my nasolabial folds are noticeably not as deep as they’re used to be. I’m using this mask on my hair and neck too. You can find a bunch of discount codes online to make the price bearable. Still think it’s worth every penny!

You are go to for dermatology, Shereene. Such a talented doctor and so entertaining. You explain everything so well it feels like a catch up with a friend. Thank you.
Oh wow! This is perfect timing for me!!! I’ve been doing deep research on LED masks and I’ve narrowed down to these 3 brands lol Yes please! A comparison video would be a godsend!!! 🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏
I recently purchased a very inexpensive LED face & neck mask, no infrared, but 630nm red light. It is a little heavy and inflexible, so requires some accomodations to use it. The recommended time is 15-30 minutes and it does turn off automatically. I'm actually quite pleased after watching this because it seems it may actually be potentially effective and since I'm retired I have the time- I listen to lots of info like this anyway, so I feel I'm using the time well. I do wear goggles with it. I figured even if it didn't last for longer than a jar of cream, it was a cost effective trial. 😉🚨👽
Yes to the review! I bought the omnilux and the first week I thought it was AMAZING but after I few months, I don’t notice a difference from when I started. Any tips would be appreciated! Thank you for always sharing your knowledge
I had a similar experience. If I do it 2x a day for 20-30mins each time I notice a little more glow but not enough to warrant how much time it takes and I’m 40. I also tried the blue led foreo acne wand thing and noticed zero difference no matter how much I used it. 😑
@@AddieWagenknecht you may be using it too often! I've used an LED mask for about 4 yrs now. After the initial 6 week period of using it 4-5 times a week, I just use mine for maintenance 3 sometimes 4 times a week if I feel like it-often the 4th is a different color like blue for calming. I think twice a day is excessive, your skin needs time to rest in between.
I’ve been using Omnilux for a couple of years now & love it! I’m on vacation right now and regretting not bringing it with me 🙄 … loved your husband getting into the shot … LOL! You two are adorable … thanks for all you do, love your videos!!!
Would applying a serum before the LED mask have an impact on its efficacy/ability to penetrate the skin? Thank you so much! ❤ I'm a final year med student in Italy and your videos are such an inspiration for me to go into dermatology!
This was so informative! With having rosacea and hyperpigmentation, I purchased a Wolznek red LED bulb (without Near Infrared) this way, I’m able to hold the bulb away from my face oppose to having a mask sitting in my face with the heat directly on my skin and possibly making my hyperpigmentation worse. Thank you so much and have a wonderful week!
I bought the Omnilux on Black Friday. I've been doing it everyday and I believe I am seeing skin texture improvement. I do use tretinoin and retinals as well for my skin.
I am confused I didn’t know if she meant by if you use a product that makes you more photo sensitive then u can’t use LED mask? I didn’t know if that applies to retinal and stuff? Do you feel like your skin got better than it already was due to retinal and your skincare? And do you use it bare face cleansed no products?
I have been doing red light therapy on my leg for about a week now. I fell outside and gashed my knee open and had a pretty nasty wound. It has healed so fast from doing 30 min a day of red light therapy. It is a light pink now and hardly visible. I was so worried it would leave a big scar but these looks like it will be minimal.
Thank you!! This is such a confusing topic and you explained it so well! I vote yes to a comparison video for products like the face masks, light stem, Red Light Man, just love hearing your opinion on these things! Thanks for all you do!
LED therapy has been amazing for me! I've been doing it from time to time for a couple of years but ever since I got the Foreo mask and have gotten into a weekly routine results have been amazing. Definitely the best anti-age treatment I've tried so far.
I work in the chemical industry & glad you hit on FDA. FDA Cleared & FDA Approval doesn't mean much in my opinion. Approval just means that the company submitted their own trial studies (which don't necessarily mean they have a double blind placebo). Cleared means the company is using what is known as "predicate" when submitting to the FDA. This means their device is fungible with something similar on the market. FDA doesn't perform their own testing on anything. So if you see "FDA approved LED Light Therapy Treatment" this is misleading.
Thank you for this very thorough explanation! I would GREATLY appreciate a comparison video talking about different options on the market, because I am so overwhelmed! I’m not sure what the best value is and what is actually worth my money
FINALLY! Just in time! As I’m putting on my Omnilux mask 🤩 Thank you for being so informative and straight to the point. I would love a comparison video of the masks.
Not sure if you'll see this but can you expand on your omnilux experience? I'm just doing research right now and would love to purchase a mask/wand. Thanks so much!
This was so interesting and educational. I would love a comparison of the masks and the best options in each price range if possible. I recently got the Dr Dennis Gross one but I am a little scared that it was a waste of money, it doesn't specify anything except the color of the lights. Thank you!
I’m in the same boat, haha. Also these flat ones seem to be more useful bcs you can use them easily on different areas of your body. From what I’ve seen, the Omnilux one has the most bulbs in the right frequency and great coverage over the face. I think I’m going for that but will hold tight a little longer and see if any of these kind doctors instruct me.
I have been using 360beluxe face and neck mask, and I can tell the results are spectacular, I even recommend to my friends and family, everyone should enjoy about the benefits of the light therapy at home !!
If you are using tretinoin, vitamin C, etc., how do you incorporate LED into your routine? Do you forgo using tretinoin on the night you use the LED mask? Many thanks.
Hi Dr Idriss, 510(k) is not FDA approval, it is "FDA clearance" which differs from "FDA approval" in that it just means the manufacturer can demonstrate that their product is "substantially equivalent to another (similar) legally marketed device". "FDA approval" means the FDA has determined that the "benefits of the product outweigh the known risks for the intended use."
Yes to the review please! Of you would buy a light therapy device, which one would you get. Can be ones that are not just for face but for entitet body and multi use. THANK YOU! Your videos and advocera are so so good and it feels nice and safe when you recomend things.
Would love to see a comparison of the top masks on the market right now. The omnilux contour, the omnilux men’s (do more powerful lights= better efficacy, even for women?), dr dennis gross, current body, etc. It is so confusing to try to parse through the different specs and stats, especially when it’s such a big investment. Dr Idriss we would love your input!🙌🏼
Dr Shereene, betw an LED Mask that you need to use 10 mins (less intensity) each session vs one that you only need 3 mins (more intensity) each session, which one would you pick and why (ignoring all other feature difference such as usability and just focusing on the LED lights themselves)? (For example, Omnilux vs Qure LED Mask).
Please, please, please comment on what evidence if any there is about retinol use and LED devices? Is it safe to use retinol and parallel LED? Let’ s say I apply retinol 3x per week but I also want to use LED on the days when I am not using retinol? Thanks
Thank you for this! Can you also look at the Dr Denis Gross mask? For some reason they use 880 IR instead of 830 and I'm wondering why they chose this wavelength. I've also found what appears to be a dupe of it by a company called Qure, which I've been seriously looking at. I want one that does red and blue light, which rules out the OmniLux, etc. I'm also having issues with hair loss and am seeing a specialist for that this week so will ask him for his thoughts too - I'd love to get a device that could work for both hair loss and acne/ageing on the face/neck.
Happy New Year! I just bought the Omnilux contour. Several years ago, I used lightstim for wrinkes. It definitely worsened my melasma. It got super hot, so that must have been why.
You said that they all are in the right range. But I can not make a top 3 and tell which one is 1 and number 2 and why so I can know which one is the best. I hope you do another video! I loved this video.
Thank you so VERY much for this video. I have been investigating these items for my use and I was in a turmoil about which to use. This was a great source of information.
Please review and compare hairmax and irestore light therapy for hair loss. Which would you recommend for Androgenetic Alopecia (female pattern hair loss)?
I bought one a year ago (I'm in Australia) and I love it! My sister works in cosmetic medicine and I took mine in to compare with her machines, and it had similar energy outputs and NMs with blue, orange and red light. I love it!! My son uses the blue light for acne then the yellow light for healing, and I use the red light for anti-aging. I love it! We only use it for 10mins per light exposure. In saying that, some things are for home, some things only a professional can do. I don't trust giving myself my regular ultrasound skin treatment for face drooping!! 🤣🤣
Thanks so much for this very informative video. Dr Idriss would you say, theoretically, that you could use once of the LED face masks over the top of your head to help with hair loss? I appreciate the design is different and that some spots might be missed, but would it generally function similarly? I notice that the hair devices are so much more expensive.
Wow I'm learning so much! I did not know about the FDA Approval 501k, I actually went to look for the specifications and found the summary with irradiances details! Its fascinating. I really appreciate your explanation of led light, wavelength and research you put into your videos. Thank you!
Thank you for condensing all this information into one video... so hard to find and understand it on the internet. This helps to compare devices with the limited information companies provide. Thank you so much! love your videos.
Hi doc, amazing video 🥰 I wanted actually a sincere opinion if these kind of devices really worth the money or is it better to go to the derm clinic to get a led treatment, what's your thoughts on that? Because they are quite expensive and sometimes I wonder if wouldn't be better to take a derm treatment instead , thank you 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you for this informative video. It would be great to have a similar educational video on RF and anti-aging, any benefits, RF home device efficacy, different types etc
Yes please do a review! (Maybe one on the Foreo Espada for acne?) I'm also dying to see a microcurrent video! I just got the Bear and I genuinely think it has helped my skin, or maybe it's just making me less stressed lol but worth it!
I love it when your husband makes an appearance 😂😂 Yes, it would be so cool if you could do a review of devises. I’m acne prone so would love to learn more about the blue light devices. Thank you!
PLEASE, PLEASE review red light therapy. I have been using the Cleopatra one for almost six months and I "think" it is helping, but probably all placebo.
I'm so glad you talked about this . I've been wanting to asked you about them. Please review some to see what works for me. I also see some that are like a mirror too and some other face therapy I've seen are mist steaming your face too.
I recently discovered your channel and I am binging your videos! 😊 So much information, I feel smarter, thank you for taking the time to make these videos 🙂🙂
Happy New Year! It’s been a while since we’ve had a « let’s get intimate ». Maybe one soon, please? One on peptides could be an interesting topic to cover. Merci!!!
I have a range of lights from The Red Light Man in the UK. He ships internationally (I'm in Australia). They're powerful, good quality lights in the proven wavelengths. He doesn't sell face masks and doesn't try to make them look pretty. They're just good lights. You can get minis that you hold in your hand and point at the treatment area (I actually do the backs of my hands with these) or screw into a lamp stand. You can get stronger light boxes that you can hold or hang somewhere. He's super open about all of the specs, unlike a lot of the brands, and will give you good dosage advice.
How do they work tho? What benefits? Im confused. More ATP/Energy, and getting things moving.. increase heal time and help acne/hairloss..? It was all said kind of in passing, could you do a more thorough video on who benefits, how it works (biologically)? Kind of the way you describe peptides, glycerin, different category and uses of retinols/retinoids, vitamin c bioavailability/irritation/chemical stability.. I want to know what you can and cant use red light therapy for, where you put it in your skincare routine.. with a hydrating mask on..? Can I use it with acids or retinoids? Do I use it directly after washing, or with serum? Does spf block the light? Do I need a bare face..? Does anyone know of a preexisting video that might cover some of these things? My gym, planet fitness has a full body red light bed.. I wonder if its high quality, if it would help with autoimmune problems and inflammation associated with it? Im totally new to red light therapy 😅
Higher dose actually has a higher dose (lol) of irradiance at 50 mW/cm2. Which is a fluence of 30 joules. But their red light strength is 3nm less at 630nm. So I’m trying to find info to see if there is a noticeable difference from losing those 3nm.
Just what i was waiting for! Thank you! I leave one ideia for the next video on microcurrent devices! I have learned so much with you! I am am finally seeing results on my pigmentation issues! Bless you
She’s talked about them before and says they do have some effect but they have to be used religiously. I have one and never use it bc it’s such a pain. You have to do it on clean skin so I have to wash my face and then add the micro current gel and do the whole 10 minute routine with the Nuface and then wash the thick layer of nasty gel off and cleanse my skin again. It’s just a pain that I don’t have time for. I thought I’d use it and I did for a few weeks but it was just too time consuming. You have to use it everyday and the results go away if you stop.

It does
This was so informative!
Just curious, how much was the Omnilux mask during Black Friday?
I am confused I didn’t know if she meant by if you use a product that makes you more photo sensitive then u can’t use LED mask? I didn’t know if that applies to retinal and stuff?
Do you feel like your skin got better than it already was due to retinal and your skincare?
And do you use it bare face cleansed no products?
Skingenics has the rechargeable cordless led face mask and goes under sixty bucks anyone tried it yet ?
My wife has it from them and swears by it
Would love a comparison review, including the dr. Dennis Gross? And would love more info on the hair max! Thank you!🌷 skin nerds, unite!
One of the best videos on LEDs out there. So many are not powerful enough to do anything (ie Amazon lights). Thank you!
Ah I did not know that, thank you for the information share!
I would love a review comparing the efficacy of different at home LED masks.
Go to hot and flashy UA-cam channel..she has lots of reviews and actual usage for several different version.
This was great.. thank you.. would the hair loss device work on menopausal hair thinning/loss? Would really appreciate your feedback
I have the CurrentBody LED. My dermatologist told me to use this AFTER washing my face, but BEFORE using any serums, moisturizers, or actives.
@@stacylbrewer even if u have dry skin 🥺?
Hi Dr Idriss, 510(k) is not FDA approval, it is "FDA clearance" which differs from "FDA approval" in that it just means the manufacturer can demonstrate that their product is "substantially equivalent to another (similar) legally marketed device". "FDA approval" means the FDA has determined that the "benefits of the product outweigh the known risks for the intended use."
What about the Dr. Dennis Gross LED mask? Is it worthwhile? It's to be worn for only 3 minutes per day.
Yes, please do a video reviewing them. Thank you ❤️💕
Yes to the review please!
I have a current body mask and love it. It brightens up my skin tone and helps heal eczema outbreaks well
Dr Shereene, betw an LED Mask that you need to use 10 mins (less intensity) each session vs one that you only need 3 mins (more intensity) each session, which one would you pick and why (ignoring all other feature difference such as usability and just focusing on the LED lights themselves)? (For example, Omnilux vs Qure LED Mask).
Please do a comparison review of the different masks!!!
Yes please. Device review would be highly appreciated. There is so many in the market and it’s difficult to choose IF it is even effective.
Please, please, please comment on what evidence if any there is about retinol use and LED devices? Is it safe to use retinol and parallel LED? Let’ s say I apply retinol 3x per week but I also want to use LED on the days when I am not using retinol? Thanks
Interestingly enough, we did not get any answer to this important question from the doctor who is so confident otherwise in her knowledge
I have the Omnilux one and I think it makes a difference. Love it when your husband came in looking around lol
Very educational! I'm the one super hesitant on these devices.
Would you do a video about which products are good for hair/scalp health?
How has the Omnilux been working for you?
Is protective eyewear needed for these masks? I haven't seen any studies on the safety for eyes or what type of eyewear to buy.
Happy new year!! Sending you so much love and positivity this new year. Cheers my friends 😊🎉❤️🇨🇦
Dr. you are awesome! And a Nerd! As a fellow IM physician, I appreciate so much the science behind it! Thank you! ❤
Hi Stacy 😊 I’m in Australia too. Which device did you purchase?
Hi, I live in Qld. Can I ask which one you purchased
Thank you!
Please review them individually! Also what should we like did regarding eye protection while wearing these? Thank you Dr.!
Such a fab breakdown, really wouldn’t expect anything less from my favourite Derm! Please do a product comparison video, I’m so intrigued😀😀😀😀
I’m one of your little nerds and am loving all u do. You are a true gift! Thank you for your thoughtful and informative videos. Happy Saturday!
Because they are quite expensive and sometimes I wonder if wouldn't be better to take a derm treatment instead , thank you 🤗🤗🤗
Than you Dr. Idriss! I'm curious do you think it's ok to use one of these devices after applying vitamin c serum or would it degrade the vitamin c?
Would also be very interested in a comparison video for the best devices (from hand held to masks) :)
Thank you for this informative video. It would be great to have a similar educational video on RF and anti-aging, any benefits, RF home device efficacy, different types etc
Thank you soooooo much for this valuable information! These lights are so expensive it’s very helpful to actually know what to look for & compare!
Yes please Dr Idriss, a comparison review would be great !
I have no idea about led therapy just here to watch u cz i love u♥️♥️♥️
Happy 2022 btw🙈
Yes please do a review! (Maybe one on the Foreo Espada for acne?) I'm also dying to see a microcurrent video! I just got the Bear and I genuinely think it has helped my skin, or maybe it's just making me less stressed lol but worth it!
I love it when your husband makes an appearance 😂😂 Yes, it would be so cool if you could do a review of devises. I’m acne prone so would love to learn more about the blue light devices. Thank you!
So informative! Would love a detailed comparison video!
Celluma is the best device for LED Therapy at home at my opinion, I own the Celluma Pro and it's legit!
Dr. Idriss can you do a video on anti-aging and exfoliating for the body?
PLEASE, PLEASE review red light therapy. I have been using the Cleopatra one for almost six months and I "think" it is helping, but probably all placebo.
I'm so glad you talked about this . I've been wanting to asked you about them. Please review some to see what works for me. I also see some that are like a mirror too and some other face therapy I've seen are mist steaming your face too.
I recently discovered your channel and I am binging your videos! 😊 So much information, I feel smarter, thank you for taking the time to make these videos 🙂🙂
Dr Idriss jaime beaucoup t écouter dans tes videos tu explique tellement bien et..tes videos sont tellement informative..thank you from Montreal
I cannot begin to explain how useful is the information that doctor Idriss provides. So much science made simple. I love her!
Can’t wait for the comparison video ☺️
Happy New Year! It’s been a while since we’ve had a « let’s get intimate ». Maybe one soon, please? One on peptides could be an interesting topic to cover. Merci!!!
Loving the wardrobe visual aids! Religiously following every week - would love to see a deep-dive video on peptides!
Yes please! Need a video reviewing the devices!! ❤️
Dr What about led light for people who are brown in color?
Yes review of red light devices would be AMAZING. Also please discuss red light for hair growth !!!
Can a red and near infra red LED device be used after a plasma microneedling or IPL procedure to aid in healing?
Your opinion on Celluma iPRO? Is it more powerful or effective that Omnilux or Dr Gross LED masks? I’d appreciate your opinion!! Thank you 🙏
I have a range of lights from The Red Light Man in the UK.
I am extremely thankful for this information... As an esthetician this is a mega break down...
Just what i was waiting for! Thank you! I leave one ideia for the next video on microcurrent devices! I have learned so much with you! I am am finally seeing results on my pigmentation issues! Bless you
Can you please do an analysis of micro current devices like the Nuface? Thank you.
