  • In this video I will be inspecting, testing and troubleshooting a computer that I purchased from Facebook marketplace. This PC was listed with minimal information and no specifications at all or details of the fault other than "Computer for parts or repair" with the description saying "might need motherboard".
I chose to take the chance on this system as I liked the Bitfenix Prodigy M case it is built in. I could also see that it contained a PCI WiFi card and dedicated graphics card of some description. Not sure at that point if it could have been a lower spec gaming PC system.
I'd also noticed USB3 and HDMI ports on the motherboard, meaning it should be 'relatively new'.
Given that I figured it was a worthwhile gamble in parts that would 'probably work' to get my moneys worth. Since it could also potentially contain a power supply, processor, memory and SSD or hard drive, but of course that is unknown from the outside.
    Will this computer be complete?
Will it turn on and function?..
    Let's find out....

Probably a really long shot but might be worth checking if that RAM stick is still under warranty. Good video and great score of a pretty decent mid-spec custom PC for short money!

I do doubt it would still be under warranty unfortunately, I think they would require proof of purchase to get a replacement too - I've been asked for it before when returning other PC items for replacement.
Thanks for your feedback! It was indeed a good buy - I figured that even if the motherboard was dead I couldn't really lose given the additional components I could see. Just need to decide what I'm going to re-purpose it for now! 😎
