I went to BMW to ask why the drastic change and one of the reps told me its because of the market. BMW is trying to cater to a family oriented market. He says they do that every now and then. I hope to see a return to a design more inline with the original in the future. This new design should not have X5 on it, maybe something else, because it certainly takes away from the aggressive nature I expected from an X5. By the way, the E70 X5M is beast. Just insane. Congrats.

I love the look of the Ivory...but 100% unless you live alone and never drive anyone but the most clean obsessive ppl in your X5 it will be trashed soon. Every time you get in and out of the car your shoe will make a little mark on the door panel, the carpet will be trashed, etc. But keep this in mind, it's meant to be used, not be a museum piece. Go with black or mocha, IMHO.

How did you manage to close the Tailgate with the Keyfob? I have a 2014 X5 and it does not do that. I've talked to the dealer and they say it's not possible.

But after 11 years I don't think that car owes anyone (especially me) anything. I'm really contemplating on getting a Mercedes GLC as my family is a Mercedes family. But I'm really considering another X5 or the Jaguar F-pace. Any suggestions?
There are so many things to touch and memorize what it does. Navigate Video, GPS, rear Video Music, MP3. Man I just want it to go to point A to point B.
Just picked up an X3 M40i, price point, MPG’s, and styling.........the X5 M is the only trim level worth getting and even then it’s just a hair faster than the X3.
Let's be honest man, you regret buying it , that's why you look on these x5 videos! I myself have a tough time deciding what to buy x3 or x5 but....i think x5 is worth the extra effort!
Not sure why this is questionable...but yes...the X5 has an upper "lift gate" and a lower "tail gate". The lift gate is powered (in this case) and can be opened manually or electronically (using the remote). This 2-piece set-up allows for ease of opening the upper lift gate to retrieve or place packages or other objects into or out of the cargo area. The lower tailgate can then be lowered for even greater access especially if large items need to be loaded into the cargo area. The lowered tail gate also facilitates "seating" for actual tailgate gatherings or "camping" etc.
Ch Ren having bought one I have to say I love it. Only comment is that by comparison with the technology on the new 5 and 7 Series the technology is dated by comparison.

Did you try press and hold the trunk button again when it's open. Not sure if it only works with Comfort access package. Try it though.

agree 100%. First time I saw the thing I was like wow BMW you did it again, then I saw the back. It's not consistent with the front at all.
