This is the model to get. That diesel is amazing but never available in the US in this form.

In the US, we get the most basic diesels. The EPA's draconian regulation of emissions in this country disallows more powerful diesels that NEVER come here. Btw, the US EPA sued VW and are settling a lawsuit for hundreds of millions. The result is German diesels (6cyl or larger) are experiencing a reprieve and not coming here for an undetermined period of time. *Mercedes answer is turning to 4 cylinder diesels that have much less performance than their 6 cylinder variants. The BMW X50d is the SUV I wanted. US manufacturers are not producing any diesels in their SUV's - even though they easily could. Only the Jeep Cherokee with it's average, Italian-based 6 cylinder diesel is being offered.

A diesel version of the X5 M? Only available in Europe I guess. though, I would wonder why one would want it if getting a diesel to get more torque and to get more "fuel economy". If you're going for a "sports SUV" just get the X5 M or Rang Rover Sport SVR, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S...etc.
Well the X5M's fuel economy (a relative term) is paltry compared to this. You'll get about 40 mpg from the Diesel if you're cruising, although obviously less if you are a bit lead footed. If you're looking for a family load lugger that can still shift a bit when you're on your own then it's a good choice. I'm currently split between this and the X5M - The M obviously destroys it in performance, but you'll be paying for that at the pump. It's a fair argument to suggest that if you're worried about fuel then you shouldn't be buying one, so in that case BMW are offering you something that, while not quite as savage, is still pretty prompt and more fun than a standard 3.0 Diesel. Point being, not everyone wants the same thing, and if you can get something relatively quick that does 10-15mpg more and can still haul a car full of people then surely that's a good thing?
The diesel is more reliable, way more efficient, it’s perfectly good for hauling and highway driving without utterly destroying your wallet. The X5 M50d does about 10l/100 km, the M 15-30 l/100 km. Plus deleting DPF/EGR and getting it remapped yields even better performance with even better reliability and fuel economy

+JesusNut™ nein da wurde nichts geschliffen, es ist mit reifen wo steine drauf sind und gleichzeitig gelenkt, beim hochfahren in gleiche position wurde ja nichts passiert. Und bei rückgabe wurde kontrolliert und keine neuschäden gefunden, mich hat es auch im video gewundert...
+OfficialXtraload Ich glaub da hat eher das rechte Vorderrad blockiert. Danach ist ne Spur auf der Straße zu sehen.
