Watched this video and I must say you inspired me. I'm a widow,Luce in a Senior apartment. Have no craft space BUT I have a 4 foot folding table. SO after watching you I decided to make room on one bedroom wall to make craft space fir my sewing machine. I can put cubes with drawers underneath each table end for storage. I quilt and also Cross Stitch but Don't know how to cut quilt binding. I have someone else do it.

Awww, that was so nice to read -- to hear how inspired you were by Anna. It's true you don't need a big space for sewing. So glad you're going to be quilting and cross stitching. And watching the sewing and quilting videos will make you feel like you are accompanied like minded friends........Kathleen

I feel that we who do crafting or quilting or crosshatching or whatever are very lucky to have this to keep our minds on other things and still feel productive and content in a way. Keep up the great work. I too am trying my hand at making projects bags. Have all my material but just have not started......wish me luck.

Love the idea of project bags. I’m not been able to sew for a couple of years, but yesterday I decided to try to organise stuff, and I’d stored everything in plastic bags from grocery shopping. Discovered the bags had disintegrated, severely. So there’s a heap of debris and everything just a mess. So, once I manage to get someone to help me clear the debris etc, I’ll make projectbags. But without the vinyl as I can’t get to shops, but have a mass of fabric. Thanks for your lovely personality and all your motivation. Xx🇦🇺

Hi Anna - You literally cracked me up sewing your zipper! You made it look easy!!! Quilting gives me that breathe moment. I’m ok with bags and zippers. Here you make all these gorgeous quilts and things but had to breathe at a zipper!!! You looked like a pro sewing it. You can even sew it with your 1/4 inch foot and the edge of the foot will line up at the edge of the zipper teeth. Hope that makes sense.
Loving that panel you bought. Will make a gorgeous project bag and look awesome in that new quilt.
    ☀️🌸 Happy Day!

Thank you for your post. After being away from my cross stitching for many years, on other fiber adventures, and recently tripping across Flosstube, where "everyone" has vinyl project bags, of course I wanted my own... I'm looking forward to raiding my stash and making up a few bags. Thank you again.

I just found your channel, I enjoyed watching you sew your project bags very much. I am an older lady who is just getting back into sewing again after 10 years. You probably know this but I use double sided 1/4” quilters tape to hold a zipper in place until I get it stitched down. It’s the only way I can do it without sewing crooked, lol. Looking forward to catching up with all of your adventures. Thanks!

Hi Anna! You are just so much fun to hang out with!
I looked for the project bag pattern at Moda Bake Shop but could not find it. Mr. Domestic has a UA-cam video making one, so maybe I will go and see what he does. I love those bags and really do need a few...times 10!
I saw that pattern for Dart too and printed it out. I have so much fabric that I need to use, so I can go buy new stuff!
Thank you for being you and sharing your quilty, stitchy life with us! You have made isolation just that much easier to contend with, and I for one truly appreciate it!

Your project bag looks cute Anna I've only made one project bag so far with vinyl but need to make more. A tip I learned that may help your viewers is to put a piece of tissue paper underneath the vinyl to prevent it from sticking to the bed of the sewing machine. Then you just tear it off. Works great!

Every time I sew a zipper I say a little prayer, its hard to get them straight. Tip for sewing on vinyl, use wonder clips not pins, or hair clips (the old school type). That way no holes in the vinyl. I tried some wonder clips and Ive never gone back. Awesome for sewing binding on too! Have a great week, Anna. Love hanging out with you.

Making a project bag was on my list of things to tackle last year, and yet still have not taken the time to give it a try. I did so much apparel sewing when I was young that zippers don’t freak me out. Just got to get motivated! Thanks for keeping me company as I work. You’re so fun to watch. Anna, the hexie bug bit me recently too!! I had a fat quarter stack of lovely antique children’s prints which made lovely hexie doll quilts for my three year old twin great granddaughters for their birthdays. They loved playing with the scraps while I basted the hexies and then while I sewed the hexies together and by the time I was hand-quilting they were not as interested in the scraps....they wanted to cover their dollies with the quilts!! Their quilts turned out 18 x 24 and are darling. Precious gift from great grandma! I labeled each one with their name, birthdate, love, great grandma! The hexie bug has left me now and I’m back to finishing UFO’s from years past and binding everything in sight....you have inspired me and I love to sew while you chat...glass of ice tea and an energetic positive visit.....what more could one ask for? 🥰. Thank you for inviting us to enjoy peace and calm.

Anna I found that if i use a zip that is quite a bit bigger than you need the zip pull does not get in the way and you can attach it way easier. Then you just trim it to size remembering to put the pull in the middle also. So for the project you were doing i would use about a 18" zip. Try that it may make your life easier. You can also use clover binding clips instead of pins on your vinyl ....no holes. I love just listening to you chat and hanging out with you whilst i sew......I think I may try one of your project bags soon. I do hope you get on the road next summer............for both yours and G's sanity xx

Too hot to garden here right now...40-41degrees Celsius with the humidex. I just love to watch you sew, Anna! Your choice of fabrics are so cute, too. ( If you ever have trouble moving your zipper tab back up into it's original position, just raise your pressure foot with your needle in the down position and it's much easier to get it past the foot.) I'm sure you already knew that, because it didn't look like you were having any trouble. ; )

Hi Anna, when I need to hold my zipper or vinyl in place I use the double sided quarter inch sewing tape, works great. Also another tutorial I watched suggested if the vinyl seems to be dragging on your sewing machine cut pieces of tissue from the paper that came with the vinyl and put that under your bag against the machine and it glides right through. Love your bags, the material is really cute. Making them gets addictive because of all the cute fabric you can use. Take care, Becky

Hi Anna, Yes I have zipper fear! I have put in many but always get uptight before going it. I need project bags but dragging my feet because of the zipper!! I'm going to go to the mods site & check that out. Thank you for sharing putting in your zipper :-)

Thanks Anna. Making project bags is on my “to do list” so I was really interested to see how you make yours. I see that we have the same sewing machine. I love mine but not long after I bought it the automatic needle threader broke (probably my fault) so I have not been able to use that function which is disappointing. Thanks for all your lovely videos and please keep safe and well.

I don’t quilt (that is my sister’s domain, lol) but I’ve sewn once or twice over the years. I’ve been seeing the project bags all over and can’t justify buying them. I’m not sure what drew me to this particular Quilt Roadies video but you really put them into perspective, especially those pesky zippers. Thanks for the demo!

Thanks Anna, I was doing a little stitching on my LaPas quilt as I watched your video. I don’t have a quilt buddy so you are mine, lol. I would be very interested in seeing this new way of binding you are talking about so maybe a video please. Thanks again Ann.

Use your clips on the vinyl. I've made that bags both ways. Been doing the wrap over and cut the back 1.5-2 inches larger

You did great with the zipper. I first hand baste mine with big stitching after a whole lot of problems. It kept moving around.

I have felt as though I'm in mourning . I miss all my quilting friends and the quilting club and guild meetings. I've rediscovered cross stitch and its helped me to weather this storm. I'm getting close to getting back to quilting, not quite there yet but my sewing room doesn't make me sad anymore.

I’m hoping for normalcy by next year, but.....who knows? So I’ve been spending more time in my sewing room and planning projects that I can sell either online or at next year’s craft fair out in Cloud Croft, NM....that’s if I can fly by then safely from New Hampshire!

I love this pattern and making project bags. When I'm ready to assemble, I use wonder clips around the edge and run a long basting stitch to hold everything in place. Then, I go back around (using the wonder clips) to attach my binding. This keeps everything from sliding around and really helps me with my finishing. These are SUPER bags and I'm making some to share with my stitching friends. I would like to have some Halloween fabric for a bag but will have to wait until it's safer to go shopping. Love your videos! Thank you for sharing.

Totally agree with you on the Cherry Wood fabric, just 50 miles down the road from me. That will be the perfect pattern for the Cherrywood. Like the first piece of backgound you picked.

Thank you for another chat. I look forward to your videos and the information you share, and your positivity. I think we are all having some days that seem overwhelming as we face a continued spread of Covid 19, and some days that we have trouble being positive. Thanks for encouraging creativity while we are trying to be safe. I know it has helped me keep busy.
With all this time at home, I have discovered some new quilting tutorials, and one that I really like is Donna Jordan! Have you visited her shop in your travels?

Your video “chat & making project bags” I enjoyed very much. Just want you to know you inspired me to make some of these myself. I could really use them. Just didn’t think about making those. Never have seen anyone even bring up this idea before. Thanks and I will see you on your next video. How and where can you store project bags that are filled with all the goodies needed for your project?

The more zippers you do will become a lot easier. I started out just like you. But now zippers are so easy to put in. But as many as I do I still once in a while screw up. I love project bags. I made a lot of them. There all filled with projects to.
