Anna, I am a monogamous stitcher and quilter. I have two quilts going at one time. One in my sewing room and one for the open sew I attend once or twice a month. I am proud to say, that after 5 years of quilting my WIPs, I am able to start a new quilt once I finish one of the two WIP quilts I have. Most folks cannot conceive of this concept. LOL. For my cross stitch, I sew on one at a time, too. Since I work, I do not have loads of time to work on it, but at night and on weekends.
Hi glad you got to go to the beach it look wonderful I'm over the snow here we had 5" of snow then 3" of ice then 5 more "" of snow it will be June before it all melts it was 3 degrees this morning in Indiana
Hi Anna! Love the cannon Beach photos! I'm glad you both had a relaxing time. Center Diamond is a fantastic fabric shop! I love the fabric/quilt shops along the Washington and Oregon Coast. I feel your pain with the potholes. I apologize to my car every time I accidentally go thru one. Take care. Marion in Gresham.
Wonderful video. I want to go to the coast now! Beautiful quilts behind you. Happy 2025. My word of the year is connect - I see in the comments others selected that too.
I love all your UA-cam videos but this you dropped yesterday holds a special place in my heart. I’ve wanted for years to attend the Sister’s Outdoor Quilt show and after moving to mountain west five years ago, the plan was to realize my dream. We were fortunate enough to secure a campsite right in downtown Sister’s for this year’s 50th show! Yesterday, I spent tireless hours securing additional reservations for Beachside SP, Rockaway, Canon and Tillamook areas! Now, I need to research all the great quilt shops along the travel route! I’m sorry I won’t be able to attend quilt classes & sit & sew this year but that gives me an excuse to repeat show another year. Thanks for shoulder love of creative textile crafting and quilt roadie adventures!
The peace of the water and waves is my favorite Thank you for taking us with ❤ I’m determined to Journal my sewing and hand stitch this year.. I have all these planners and Journals and maybe do one or two pages then boom the years over 😢. Well thanks to a UA-cam video today I learned the difference between the two….and bet it applies to your tracking also…In your cross stitch You PLAN. You use a planner then when you quilt you can Journal tell about the process as you go along……and heavens NO your not OLD. This world changes hourly
Your video made me happy. I kept saying oh no. Hand quilting and sewing binding on and another rabbit hole? Looking forward to another cross stitch video.❤
We were at Cannon Beach in September! It was beautiful! That was our first time there. We traveled from Astoria down to the California Redwoods. Fabulous trip!
Yes, I think we all would like to actually work on and finish what we already have. It is tempting to go into quilt shops! I’ve been very good recently about not buying anything more because I’m at max capacity in my home. So if I buy something, I have to get rid of something and I love all my projects too much to get rid of any of them! This mindset (reality) has worked for me.
It’s sounds like you had a special little getaway trip to Canon Beach, how beautiful it is. The Center Diamond looks like a great quilt shop, I can’t imagine walking in and not making a purchase! The Denim and flannel runner is a wonderful idea, loaded with memories. ♥️ The idea of a designated quilt is an interesting one, I will have to ponder that. Thanks for the visit and sharing your beautiful photos.
Hello from the other end of Oregon, the Southern part. The Rogue Valley and we are socked in with FOG as well. It tends to start having an affect on my sunny disposition after about so long... This too shall pass and we'll complain about the heat in a couple of months!
Oh the beach is amazing ❤️ I love love love the beach. Right now in Michigan are beaches are frozen and full of snow but still beautiful ❤ My daughter in law just retired before Christmas and she’s been on Pinterest a lot…😂sending me ideas of things to make (like I need help) my sewing room could double as a fabric store. But tell anyone 😂 My granddaughters have already got orders in for next Christmas 😮 knitted socks…. Good thing I love knitting. Quilts to make, wool projects and embroidery projects glad we have snowy cold cold weather. So I don’t venture out of my sewing room very far.. just for nourishment and sleep. How do people survive without projects 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks for the visit. ❤
Thank you for dispelling the horrible myth that rebuilding is what matters. It’s all those memories and items that can’t be replaced that matter. It is so tragic to see what has happened. Glad your family is safe.
We love Cannon Beach also. My hope is to get there and further south to see the whales. I love whales and their migration trip. Center Diamond is an always stop for me too. This last trip I bought the Cannon Beach fabric kit. I think I’ve had the pattern for seven or more years thinking I would find fabric. Well, it took me seven plus years to realize, just buy the fabric, at the same store. My wishful thinking of quilting someday the design. Thanks for the tip to back the cotton before appliquéing down. See you on Stitch Roadies and maybe someday at Cannon Beach. I delicious and outside light infused place to try is Pelican Brewing across just a block or two south of Center Diamond. The sandwiches are fine for two meals and the chowder was loaded with fish and clams.
Love that table runner!! In our house we call those convenient cat beds LOL. Rugs, Table runners, placemats, you name it. All fancy names for cat beds. Ahhh, but we love it! Love the pictures of the beach! Looks like you guys had a wonderful time!! I've ordered my fabric for the block contest and for the postcard challenge. I'm getting ready for the big show LOL! The way time flies, it will be here before we know it and you have fun things to do before QA and the quilt show even get here LOL. Busy, busy, busy! 🐝🐝🐝Hugs from NE Ohio.
I found Center Diamond this past fall while visiting the beautiful Oregon coast. I was able to purchase some lovely things all because you had put the shop on my radar with a video that you had posted earlier in the year. I am forever in love with your state.❤
I just love the memory runner and talking tutorial. Great problem solving and what a cherished gift😊. You are actually very good at strategizing and organizing your projects! And your shopping always means the Beehive always has treasures waiting to be the next one. ☺️
Enjoyed this visit very much! Enablers support our economy😂 Your rabbit holes are lots of fun, so I am looking forward to jumping in with you😊 Take Care❤
Love the table runner, I have a lot of jean material to use and had not even thought of using it that way. I need to put some flannel on the list. Glad to hear your family is safe. Thank you for sharing everything.Sisters is on my bucket list. Thank you for sharing the photos.
It was so great to see pictures of Cannon Beach and the quilt shop there. That is one of my favorite places in this world. I have stayed at the same place you stayed several times. Thank you for sharing your visit there.
Loved this video! I'm on the east coast however in 2018, I was in Portland for my sorority convention and a side trip was to Cannon Beach. Not knowing anything about it, we stood on the beach and I said "this is Goonies!" Then we saw the sign....thanks for renewing my memory. The photos in the beginning of your videos were amazing and your presentation is so calming to sit and listen. Thanks for remembering the fires and those victims. I watch the news and cry/pray for all of them.
I’m coming to Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show for the first time! We are from Illinois & it’s our 50th wedding anniversary on July 10th so I picked going there to celebrate. I tried to sign up for your sit & stitch but am on the wait list 😞, I so hope I can get in bc this will be the only time I can come. Please squeeze me in Anna you are my favorite quilt & stitching flosstuber ❤
What a special Table Runner you've made Anna. It will be much loved and appreciated I'm sure. Love the sea creatures and coast photos. What a horrendous time for those living in the LA region and also all war torn areas of homes instantly torn to rubble leaving so many homeless and with treasures lost. You can't replace sentimental objects just hold on to memories.
As far as journaling, I’d like to create a “picture book” of all the quilts I’ve made. I actually have at least one picture of every quilt I’ve ever made! I’m not sure exactly how I want to do it but it’s really fun to think about.
Loved visiting with you this early morning while big stitch quilting my Gees Bend quilt. After hubs took me to Gees Bend a year ago, I was inspired to finally piece the Gees Bend quilt kit I’d bought ages ago. It’ll be a wonderful memory of my Gees Bend pilgrimage. Hugs!! ‘
Good morning Anna, what a wonderful few days at the coast. Love amazing video today. So many little tips and ideas for a successful day. I will have a wonderful week, thank you Anna. You too have a wonderful week. 💞. Pictures are beautiful.
I remember taking the drive on that “sunset highway” about 35 years ago. My parents took the train from the Midwest. We drove to the coast from Spokane Washington and south to Oregon and took the road inland. I was like you with my head out the window. But the road was glistening from the snow melt and I remember that it looked like a silver ribbon we were driving on. Love to think about it when one of your ROADIE videos come on !!! You inspire me with projects. Done and undone. Keep on truckin.
I loved all the beautiful pictures from Canon Beach. I enjoyed going there last July right after Quilters Affair and the visit to Center Diamond. I love all their ocean themed fabrics and kits. So glad you are doing the Flowers laugh kit by All through the night. As always, enjoyed the visit 🥰
Oh good coffee with Anna. You are absolutely an enabler for me. I loved all of the beach pictures. The picture of the huge rock brought back fun memories of Cannon Beach. I used to go there with my sister and her littles which believe me they are no longer little. We are less than an hour from the Gulf and we never over there. I love to feel the sand in my toes and Roger hated the sand. The ying and yang of marriage.
Anna, not only are you an enabler, but you are a motivator. Since you talked about recording your quilting life, I also started a journal. The journal is very basic because I rather create and journal. You have motivated me to get out my UFO'S and complete them. As always, thanks for sharing.
Nice job on the runner!! I do enjoy your videos, which I watch/listen to with my morning coffee. And while you’re chatting, I was thumbing through Roberta Horton’s Scrap Quilts, The Art of Making Do. It’s out of print, but you inspired me to curate fabric for yet another quilt ( p. 75, Cake Crumbs). Here’s to enabling quilters world wide, Anna!! 🤜🤛
Good morning!!! Love your videos!!!! I decided that this year I will make it to sister’s! Yay! I live in Massachusetts but have my best friend lives in Eugene OR. So hopefully will see you on Saturday….. thanks for all your sharing you are truly a talented person !
Hi Anna! I catch your channels… just haven’t chatted as much as usual…. Hand quilting is worth it sometimes…. I’m excited about 1 hour when ya have time got quilting! Sit n stitch is full! Wow
I was there too! I am just home from 4 days in CB. I stay about 500’ from Center Diamond and was there on Sunday. I can’t believe I was right there but didn’t see you. Drat! Do you ever eat at Screw and Brew? It’s between Sleepy Monk and Pelican. Next time. I was likely standing on the beach for that same sunset.
What a fabulous beach trip! I had planned to sign up for your Sit and Stitch at Sisters, but a friend and I wanted to take a class together and ended up choosing one that meets on Thursday and Friday. Classes sure went fast this year. I am waitlisted for two more classes. I hope you make it into your glass class. Those projects are gorgeous.
Thank you for another fun video from The Beehive ❤️👍 It’s so sweet of you to make the quilt for your daughter in law out of her brother’s denim jacket. She will always treasure it and you for making it for her 🧵🪡

I like the idea of a designated quilt. My first quilts were all finished as envelopes with a sheet backing.😊🧡💛
Oh yes I remember those😊
My 2025 word is Connect. Connect to people fabrics, fibers, outdoors, ideas, projects, etc.
That's a great word! Love the connections I make❤️
That is my word too!

Hi Anna! I catch your channels… just haven’t chatted as much as usual….
Hand quilting is worth it sometimes…. I’m excited about 1 hour when ya have time got quilting! Sit n stitch is full! Wow
Each stitch is a labor of love❤️
I was there too! I am just home from 4 days in CB. I stay about 500’ from Center Diamond and was there on Sunday. I can’t believe I was right there but didn’t see you. Drat! It’s always fun to go with a friend! 🎉❤️ but you can still stop by and say hi❤️
Thank you for another fun video from The Beehive ❤️👍 It’s so sweet of you to make the quilt for your daughter in law out of her brother’s denim jacket. She will always treasure it and you for making it for her 🧵🪡
Quilting roots are making for family❤️
ANY fabrics left??? how about matching coasters stacked for more home dec ensemble look?? like the look n "feel" of the table runner👍.
🧐❤️
Thank you
Anna, I grew up in So Cal and so sad to see the damage and loss. What quilt pattern did you use on the French General quilt you were stitching? It would be great to see the quilt. I have the Antoinette fabric and want to make a queen size quilt. It is always lovely to go to the coast. Thank you for sharing.
So sad…painful to watch unbearable for those living it 😢. The quilt pattern was made with Swoon Block❤️
The quilts are beautiful. Did you machine quilt the Christmas one? The amount of stitching is amazing.
Oh I wish I was that talented but alas it was a long arm quilter out of the quilt basket in Bend OR❤️
My sister lost her home and every single thing in it in a forest fire in California about 3 years ago. She and her husband (and their dog) escaped with their lives and the clothes on their backs! They were able to purchase a new home with insurance money but she still suffers greatly from PTSD😢
The PTSD and the memories 😔🙏❤️
Anna - what a sweet video.
Could you share what type of batting is in your French General quilt? It looks more floofy than the batting I’ve been using.
For the first time I am trying a wool bat😊
Anyone who says "That most of those people can afford to rebuild isn't living in reality."
❤
Hi Anna… I want to make a graduation quilt for my granddaughter. She loves beach colors and I remember this year you made a beachy one for a female relative of yours. I tried finding that video…no luck. Could you tell me the fabric bundle (I recall you got it at Fat Quarter Shop… and the pattern you used. Thank you So much, Holly from Florida
😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
sure miss your videos when you are gone I kept looking for them than I thought oh no she has the flu my mind plays games when you are gone
No flu for me just living a full life❤️❤️
