Good for you Stef!! I've had my project keeper pattern from Kerri for over a year now and have not attempted it as yet. I think I'll give it a go now...thanks for the push and the laughs. I'm presently stitching Helping in the Coneflowers for a friend and I'm changing the dog into a collie...will have to show you when done. Cheers
I'm rolling. I literally just finished making the regular project keeper yesterday, after not sewing for at least 10 years. It took me three days! Of course, I Frankensteined it out of remnants for my first go, but even then, I kept remaking the components. My bindings look wonky, my bobbin holders are not in a perfect grid, but they work. Now I am itching to make another but want to add more bobbin holders. Maybe turn it into a tri-fold keeper? IDK. In any case, thank you for this video. I lost my mind more than once with this project, but am really glad I made it.

That is the Devil whispering in your ear, and will lead to frustration, crooked seams, and thread jams (yes, the machine KNOWS and will misbehave at the worst possible times). Always take a break & have a stretch, a snack, and a Refreshing Beverage™at regular intervals.
Your finished keepers might not be perfect, but they are cute & function the way they should, so I'd call that a success.

Happy birthday. Your Aida story reminded me of a Biscornu I stitched. The fabric was woven weird and I kept recounting. I now have a donkey Bisrectangle. I can smugly say it wasn't my fault. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. :(. have a great day.

I need to purchase this pattern. It looks so cute. I truly can appreciate your love hate relationship with sewing. It’s has took me to years to bind properly. I didn’t say neatly. I’m hoping that skill comes sooner than later.

Late Birthday Wishes🎉! I watched your super fun video while stitching(Myrtle the Turtle - Satsuma) out on the porch. It is so hot and humid and I was thinking how much you would enjoy the sweaty stitching too!! I have also purchased patterns to make a similar stitching case and am feeling like just cutting everything out is going to be the hardest part!!! I have discovered sparkle and printed vinyls that I love and are easier to see. I have used them on project bags. You have the inspired me to give it a go! Your project keeper are very nice. I hate using the sewing machin as much as I love cross stitching. I can relate. That is why my machine lay in a corner in my room and doesn't get any love.

We get along for about an hour or two, if I'm lucky! 🤣🤣🤣I feel like I'm going to the gallows when I have to do a lot of sewing on the machine.

Thx for the laughs, in a good way. This reminded me of when I first started sewing. My husband had a sewing machine, he taught me how to use it. I went thru so much scrap fabrics, it was fun. I love watching videos than reading for instructions - makes more sense. I’ve finished stitching into pillows, banners, and bell pulls. I also made my own envelope style project bags. I love sewing now…. Yes, it’s easier and things get made faster. Loved watching you go through the struggles and how honest you were about it.

I think you did a fantastic job. Muscle memory plays such a huge roll in all crafts, just keep doing and they will get even better. These look fantastic. Your fabric choices are beautiful and fun. Not to mention for your first time you modified a pattern yourself, that's awesome. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Your finishing is awesome. I agree that you should use a less favorite fabric for the first go around. That angled down line was funny. Something I would definitely do. I would show it and then rip it out and sew it back up.
