I am a nearly 70 y/o struggling through The Maple Leaf Rag, making progress everyday. You bring great joy to my heart listening to you perform these forgotten gems. I will practice twice as long tomorrow, motivated by your great talent. Sincere thanks for sharing this!
That's cool. That was the first piece/rag I ever learned on piano many years ago. Only using a tutorial and memory, I learned it so fast because I just thought it sounded cool lol. Now I've learned a few more rags just as complicated and cool.
Ok, so I've visited this video about 50 times. I listen to it while charting on my patients, while paying bills, while doing my taxes. This has been the background music of my life. I personally play ragtime myself, only Scott Joplin and a few others (I used to have the Black and White and 12th st. rags in my hands). This video has really made me a believer in learning non-scott joplin rags. Again, thanks a million!
You are so fortunate. I was able to do the same by violin. A medical catastrophic illness ended that. But, it came back as I watched my daughter and son play for me. And they still do. A great piano virtuoso such as you cannot exist without great appreciators of the piano virtuoso. I venture to guess that you bring a smile to the faces of your patients. 😄

Wow! Outstanding playing! I'm 64 years old and just started 3 months ago trying to teach myself piano (can't afford lessons) and I have a little $150 electric keyboard from Target stores to learn on. I know it would take me 150 years to play like this! Ragtime is my favorite. Anyway, Outstanding job man. Keep on playing!

You are my complete idol. I would kill to be able to play like that…well maybe not kill but I would definitely give up a spare body part like maybe a kidney or a spleen. How many years have u been playing the piano? How long does it take u to learn each song. I am completely utterly amazed, impressed by your playing. I listen to you everyday. My favorites are: entertainers rag, tickled to death, Hungarian rag, coaxing the piano and black and white. I printed out the music but I can only dream. I took lessons when I was 5-14 but……I’m trying. Do you teach piano? How do you play so fast and so accurately? I have watched others playing those songs and no one plays them like you. You are incredible. I Love listening to you play ragtime…my favorite piano music. Thank you for making this video!!!
A Zez Confrey darabjai nagyon megállják a helyemet! Ugyanúgy minden más darab... csak így tovább :)
Really? You are in a select elite. I don't need to see you playing to know it's you. You have your own tone, and the piano you play has amazing sound. I found you randomly. It must be a lucky day. Truly, I'm going to play Lotto today too! Thanks
Thank you for including the score and sheets of music. It makes it that much more rich to see your video of amazing playing!! Way to go, very impressive!
This is amazing Daniel. How you've managed to cram 50 different rags into your brain and actually play them back to back is beyond insane. Subbed on the spot; this is the kind of quality I look for on youtube. On a different note, I was wondering what kind of equipment you use to record the sound of your piano? It's a very clean, crisp one and I plan on working on a few videos of myself playing on my own channel so I could really use the tips. Cheers man!
My favorite 30 seconds are 1:14:07 - 1:14:39. The first run through the theme is awesome! It sounds like you heard an orchestration of The Nightingale Rag for piano 4 hands and played it by yourself. Of course, the sheet music has about half of the notes you played.
Such joyful pieces! Amazing performance! Incredible technique!!! 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏😅😅😅 It must be so much fun to be able to play them! 😍😍😍 I would not be able to last for such a long time, my concentration span is pretty short especially for technically challenging pieces... 🤣🎹🤣
I loved all of these, but I'd never heard the slower rag pieces before and I really liked them. My favourite was the Hungarian Rag, though. I feel sorry for your hands, though! Ouch. I wish I wasn't tone deaf, it would be nice to be able to play an instrument.
I really like and prefer your renditions of ragtime pieces. You’ve got a real feeling for them. You don’t just plow through them. I love the sound of your piano! I wonder: did you learn all these pieces from the sheet music or from listening to recordings?

I can’t even imagine how much your fingers must be cramping during/after this! Respect, my dude ❤️
You are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! Love ragtime
I think that your tempos are sometimes too fast to savor the music, but I'm awfully impressed by your performances overall. Thank you so much.
That what makes UA-cam great, you can click the settings Gear ⚙️ and pick a playback speed you like, Warning 1.5x is just so FUN.
Awesome playing, you do some nice dynamics that make the pieces shine.
PS this needs way more views than it has. Let's get it watched some more.
I love rag time music!😍👌
Még mindig az egyik legjobb! Kösz az erőfeszítéseidért! Az állóképesség minden képzeletet felülmúl...
A Zez Confrey darabjai nagyon megállják a helyemet! Ugyanúgy minden más darab... csak így tovább :)
😂👌🙏
Really? You are in a select elite. I don't need to see you playing to know it's you. You have your own tone, and the piano you play has amazing sound. I found you randomly. It must be a lucky day. Truly, I'm going to play Lotto today too! Thanks
I really enjoyed listening to the 12th street rag here
Thank you for including the score and sheets of music.
Cheers man!
thank you! I used audacity for recording the sound and a simple jack cable to connect the piano with my laptop.
マークさんとご飯食べてた方だ!
My favorite 30 seconds are 1:14:07 - 1:14:39. The first run through the theme is awesome! It sounds like you heard an orchestration of The Nightingale Rag for piano 4 hands and played it by yourself. Of course, the sheet music has about half of the notes you played.
It is awesome.
Thanks for your efforts.
I'm from South Korea.
Perfect music to listen to all day. Thanks.
Come back from my first visit 4 years ago. I was using this as the background music for studying lol.
Merci de France!!
Outstanding.
Man I wish I could play all the Scott Joplin ragtime music as well as this.
Practice man :)
本当にラグタイムが好きです!聞いてるだけで楽しくなります!
Nothing is impossible, - now that I have heard him play, I am convinced! Awesome feat, rekindles my enthusiasm for rag time.
I loved all of these, but I'd never heard the slower rag pieces before and I really liked them. My favourite was the Hungarian Rag, though. I feel sorry for your hands, though! Ouch.
I wish I wasn't tone deaf, it would be nice to be able to play an instrument.
You have an amazing command of these rags.
I really like and prefer your renditions of ragtime pieces. You’ve got a real feeling for them. You don’t just plow through them. I love the sound of your piano! I wonder: did you learn all these pieces from the sheet music or from listening to recordings?
This guy Ragtimes.
Congratulations ! You are a really freaky incredible memory monster !!!!!
Thanks! I think it's more about enthusiasm than brain capacity
@@danielsthings 👍 🙂
is this true chad doing 2h 30' of straight ragtime nonstop? Because I don't see cuts in your video. You're a legend
Infinite respect for you bro. This is super impressive
