One thing I love about Dixieland is how the horns sometimes go right to the edge, then come back. They never quite cross that line. Dixieland is just so much fun. It always sounds like a celebration.
You describe perfectly what I Think about this, Dixieland jazz is pretty much about happyness, and always remind us the Joy in the life through the music, is simply wonderful, I Just love so much.
When I was learning to play dixieland with sax the best was it was described was most everyone is soloing the whole time but in the same key so it doesn't sound wrong. That and those clarinet licks are what really help give it it's distinct sound so it's important to have a strong clarinet player. Takes a little getting used to but once you do it's just as amazing to play as it is to listen to.
Gosh, my old heart is dancing, my feet are taping and you'd believe my old banjo over there in the corner is gleefully smiling ! Rejuvenating indeed. Thanks guys. Keep at it, please.
Mijn smaak is veelzijdig. (zie porettob70)
I love this music so much I am 23 and i am from Albania Its like im dancing in a club everytime i hear this type of music .. i dont know maybe in a past life lol
Intuitive lol! i get this feeling too, most of the time when I listen to 20th Century music feels like i was there and then. i am only 19 hehe! I am from Maseru, Lesotho
Yes, I get it, 'old faahioned' dixieland a la Mickey Mouse and Disneyland, but do you remember who were the original Dixieland band who actually worked for Disney? The Firehouse Five plus Two. The leader (on trombone) was Ward Kimball and if you watch original Disney animations , you will see his name in the credits as producer. All other members of the band were animators, as well as being some of the most entertaining jazzmen on the planet.
At this point the Internet world is probably larger than the real world and out of all those people only a little over 5,000 have viewed this video. It just blows my mind that this type of music doesn’t get much more attention. What a big dumb planet we live on.
doctorkazoo maybe you're new, but with this music there is no grey area, we are far and few, I love trad jazz but this video sux, very by the book. Seach Dixieland Live or played on the street, you'll surely hear better than this anyway.
@@beachmasterX I was afraid to say it until you did. They are playing the music as written. Good Jazz moves the notes just enough to add feeling. I learned that from Jelly Roll Rogers at Preservation Hall.
@Everstruggling Django Reinhardt?? Nat King Cole???? Oh, stop it. I'm talking about Dixieland Music. You think Reinhardt is Dixieland?? Nat, Reinhardt...brilliant but not DL! Armstrong is his own category. I'm sickened and bewildered that THIS style of trad jazz is not extraordinarily popular.
Good Jazz is lousy background music. It is impossible to do anything while tapping everything you have. Look for Tuba Skinny Shotgun the Shakemup Jazz Band Broken Marbles or other current traditional New Orleans street Jazz bands. Or go all the way and listen to the old Preservation Hall Jazz Band. They are all on U-tube.
E Jazz MBop (Glenn Miller, Bob Crosby, Andrew Sisters e Jimmy Dorsey).
Hi 👋 = we all have different views of course. ! But I miss the sound of “ Trombone “ on this recording. Trad bands as- 1 of 3 at least front liners cheers to all 👍🌈

Wonderful playing, Wonderful music. Remember, if you love music 🎶 🎵 ♥️ you are never without a friend.
Dixieland is so much fun to play!!! I have played When the Saints go Marching on in a trailer pulled by a truck in a parade. It was awesome!!!!
Gosh, my old heart is dancing, my feet are taping and you'd believe my old banjo over there in the corner is gleefully smiling ! Rejuvenating indeed. Thanks guys. Keep at it, please.
I love the Dixie version of _All Of Me_ . I will have this one in mind when we play the tune in the band. I play the keyboard.

wwwwwooooooooowwwwww....que maravillosa música...!!!...me encantó haberla encontrado, una experiencia musical espectacular...!!!. Gracias.
Makes you wish to have lived during the roaring 20s, sans depression...
Well, the depression started like 3 months before the end of the 20s so, it would still have been great until then
Unless you’re any minority.
Lovely! A 'potpourri' of truly wonderful Dixieland music.
Love it.

Delightful! Makes my soul sing. Thank you for posting this.
I love this music. Thanks for share.
I always like this kind of music
Some of the most enjoyable music ever. This is the only kind of jazz worth a dang. Keep all the rest.
There's a lot of amazing jazz nowadays. Look at Japanese bands like J.A.M, TRI4TH, bohemianvoodoo
Lewis Wereb You are objectively wrong.

Dixieland, "El elixir de la vida".
My god, it gets better and better...
🎉Fantastic🎉
This is why I always tell people I'm from Louisiana when I travel, I only lived there for 3 years.
I lived in new orleans for more than that and although I still love this music, I have to say: this is not the music of NOLA. It's formthe tourists.

i fear the only people that love it are those that play it, or have played it
I Totally AGREE !!! Anyone who knows music would also agree, doctorkazoo !!!

I heard that excerpt from high society on the Clarinet solo for "Sweet Georgia Brown"
Same! I was actually just going to comment that. Also the clarinetist in Tiger Rag quoted Toredor’s March at the beginning of his solo.

On my school playlist
My feet can't stop dancing. OMG, what's happening? They listen and they can't stop. 🤭🤪
Oh, no! I've probably got infected, too. With the virus of self-dancing limbs.
I close my eyes to feel the instruments and when I open them I am already in rhythm. lol
Kkkkkkk
Sitting on my couch my feet just want to move. It's contagious!
