You guys are great. Thank you for the nostalgic tour on this quiet Saturday afternoon. I love your impeccable manners. Skelly became Getty oil and then became Texaco oil in 1984. I am a woman Navy veteran and I still find myself saying yes ma’am, yes sir, no ma’am, no sir. I was also raised to be very respectful.

Skelly Oil Company. 1919 to 1977. I remember the stations well. You need to get those signs. I have alot of Skelly stuff, even a pump and sign that lights up when I turn on the garage lights. Great CLEAN videos. I really enjoy them.

I have 3 30 gallon drums of Skelly 10w-30 and 3 55 gallon drums of Getty 10w-30. I use the getty in my survivor 1960 pontiac. It has 30K actual miles and getty was used in the car since it was brand new. I have a neon skelly oil sign that still works.

Hopefully, you and your Dad will have the satisfaction of having this unit building its own heat, once more. My first car in 1970 was a '57 210 sedan that I spent a lot of time with. Good memories, while watching yours.

Love the old Packard. My Dad had his own garage and 2 mechanics, so I saw all of these cars on the road when I was a little girl (born in 1943). Love the old Ford coupe and Buick. My favorite car was our 1953 Buick, Daddy bought from an Insurance agent when it was 6 mos. old, and fixed body from an accident. It became our family car for 11 years.

So technically, the 57 Chevy Belair is the first car I ever rode in. Definitely evokes some nostalgia. Would love to see what your find looks like after you guys rehab it. Great video!

I have been on farms in the uk and literally in a pile of trash in the side of a barn missing the majority of its roof i found a vintage shell oil pourer in great condition. Guess it got knocked over when it was full of oil so it protected it. Thing is worth like 600. These old places are a gold mine if you appreciate old stuff

I grew up in Hamilton, New Zealand and our neighbours across the road purchased a brand new 1957 Chevrolet Belair; same Yellow as this but Black Roof where this one is White, right hand drive for New Zealand roads !!!
I always remember that car and have always loved the 1957 Chevrolet Belair, he kept it for around 10 or so years and then purchased a new big beautiful Chevrolet Station Wagon which might have been a 1967 or 1968 model, it was a Teal Blue colour with alot of shiny Chrome on it, one of the most beautiful looking cars I had ever seen as a young boy growing up.
I love the International Harvester Scout that you are looking at ~ I'm a Diesel Mechanic by trade and served my Apprenticeship at International Harvester Company of New Zealand Ltd at their Hamilton branch from 1974 until 1977 and remember the Scout although not many were imported into New Zealand.
Thankyou and much Respect for the great video guys really enjoyed watching this.
All the very best with the restoration of the 1957 Chevrolet 👍😎👍 Belair.
PS : Hope you get the Scout !!!

So I could get behind the drivers seat ,and when there done ,arm out the window for a proud job well done ,so keep the memories rolling $ tell me anyone who would not want hang out with guys ,just give me a broom and I would sweep the floor for free and chance to enjoy it hands on! I bought my husband a 1973 Triumph GT6MK3. There were only 500 sent over from England, and it has a plaque on the dash proving it's authenticity. It needs breaks and a lot of work like a new firewall, flooring, and the seats track straightened, but the paint is good. When I drove it over to storage about 10 years ago the engine purred. He wanted it so bad because he had one years back but he's never even drove it or been behind the wheel.

His dad bought it to make it look like someone was always home when they were gone to keep the burglers away. When my friend, his son, became driving age he would take it out all the time and we'd go on double dates in it. It was a very roomy and comfortable car. It was huge compared to today's cars.

Great find on the '57! Turning back the rusty pages of my memory (I got my first license in 1958) The 4 door Packard with all of the sheet metal missing would be a '56 Patrician, originally fitted with a 372 engine, or a 351. Both of those V8s were of Packard manufacture. Prior to that, post war Packards had a straight 8. They were THE car for many years, prior to WW2. The Scout indeed had a 4 cylinder engine, truly half of one of their V8 engines. I think the V8s were either 360, 392 or 412...not sure of those numbers however. Small bore, long stroke. The AMC Pacers were originally planed to have a Wankel engine, to be purchased from GM. At the last minute, GM backed out of the deal, leaving AM with a body they had no engine to fit. Many today think that this was a GM attempt at killing off competition. AMC at that time made a 232 and 259 6 cylinder, plus a 304, 360 and 401 V8. The 6 cylinder was a really tight fit in the Pacer. The V8 engines did appear late in the Pacer's short life span, and all three displacements had identical external dimensions. I actually had a 1974 Gremlin that I transplanted a 401 V8 into during the late 70s. It fit nicely, but was miserable to handle on wet roads!

I really enjoy your program. I watched the episode on the white 4 door 1957 Chevy and I just about drilled all the way through it, only because I own a 1957 Chevy that my grandmother bought brand new. I've been keeping it going since I got it in 1977.

Love this accent - being from Australia, when I'm thinking of American accents, this is exactly what I think of. What also amazes me is people there are so polite, I'm noticing here and on similar other American shows, you refer to each other as "Yes M'am and Yes Sir". That blows me away! Respect

this is fun, miss doing this... classic car hunting... Lots of forgotten memories.. My dear Pop had that car, for awhile, baby blue, In the late fifties. After he crashed his old Oldsmobile 88 up at Donner Pass one snowy night on the top of the Mountain, seven thousand feet up... Thanksgiving trip to Reno past Truckee/Donner Lake... what a trip...

On the slim chance that you guys read your posted comments, I would like to plead with you that if you do end up just flipping it, that you will sell it to someone who will restore it to stock showroom condition. This is a rather rare example having factory power windows. This car really deserves to be restored to stock and not turned into a modified or customized piece of crap. Factory original restoration all the way. Thank you for having saved this gem!!

Engine in the 57 is a 283 but someone has been in it . Right side cylinder band has A later model 327 valve cover , you can see a raised square in it where GM put the engine cubic inch decal . Left side still has the original valve cover with the Chevrolet script on it.

The lady uses one of the oldest negotiating tricks in the book. "If you have any authority, get rid of it" that way it;s easy to rebuff low offers by saying the person with authority is not here. She played it well and the buyer paid full price.
