Would like to see a show like this on Netflix, cable or something. Much better than the "lets get all hyped to build a $100,000 car." These guys are doing something you can do in your garage. So respectful too.
That chick needs a medal!!!!! Soooo many people have honey holes like this and will just let them rott away and she refused to do that.... Keep that American steel on the streets of America!!! I just love her for that!
You guys are great. Thank you for the nostalgic tour on this quiet Saturday afternoon. I love your impeccable manners. Skelly became Getty oil and then became Texaco oil in 1984. I am a woman Navy veteran and I still find myself saying yes ma’am, yes sir, no ma’am, no sir. I was also raised to be very respectful.
This lady's loud voice would drive me up the wall! People born in 1980 are young to me! I was born in 57! That is why I watch these vids cause when I was a kid I loved these cars...all the chrome and the lights. They were beautiful to me!
We're in Alberta Canada, and I've always loved dealing with Texans, very polite and down to earth people. Great video, keep doing what you're doing! You're inspiring us to start doing videos with our 2 young boys finding rusty projects to save!
Love the old Packard. My Dad had his own garage and 2 mechanics, so I saw all of these cars on the road when I was a little girl (born in 1943). Love the old Ford coupe and Buick. My favorite car was our 1953 Buick, Daddy bought from an Insurance agent when it was 6 mos. old, and fixed body from an accident. It became our family car for 11 years.
Good on ya, Lance. Always pleased to see classics that haven't been crushed and your Bel Air find, looks like a solid project car. Hopefully, you and your Dad will have the satisfaction of having this unit building its own heat, once more. My first car in 1970 was a '57 210 sedan that I spent a lot of time with. Good memories, while watching yours. I'll be checkin' in from time to time, to watch the progress y'all make. Thanks for posting this up!
I appreciate the work that you do. I grew up in East Texas and your show makes me proud. Sometimes I see areas that are near my home town. Thank you for sharing your faith as well.
Skelly Oil Company. 1919 to 1977. I remember the stations well. You need to get those signs. I have alot of Skelly stuff, even a pump and sign that lights up when I turn on the garage lights. Great CLEAN videos. I really enjoy them.
I have 3 30 gallon drums of Skelly 10w-30 and 3 55 gallon drums of Getty 10w-30. I use the getty in my survivor 1960 pontiac. It has 30K actual miles and getty was used in the car since it was brand new. I have a neon skelly oil sign that still works.
@@tomkurtzhals7369 My Dad was a Skelly wholesale dealer in Southern OK. We had cases of globe inserts, state maps, and much more stored in a barn, after he sold the dealership. Wish I still had them.
My little 54 chev 3100 was in that trailer when we first saw it. Now its in Puerto Rico living a new live! Thants for saving that belair, he'll get a forever new home thants to Turnin Rust team!
I worked with a guy who had a scout like that one. He said the motor is a V8 with 1/2 of it blocked of to run as a 4 cylinder.Great channel you guys ! Appreciate your Christian testimony !
stashwax roller - I’ve got a scout, with the original motor, you basically call it half a V8, they were a cool little car and they were very reliable. Mines a Scout 80.
Well you hear it all the time ,as far as I'm concerned you both make it fun to relive days gone by I'm sixty years of loving them then , and got to drive many different models and couldn't get enough of it I used to detail them for free ! So I could get behind the drivers seat ,and when there done ,arm out the window for a proud job well done ,so keep the memories rolling $ tell me anyone who would not want hang out with guys ,just give me a broom and I would sweep the floor for free and chance to enjoy it hands on! I might sound goofy but they bring rust to a new cool , so keep rolling !
I grew up in Hamilton, New Zealand and our neighbours across the road purchased a brand new 1957 Chevrolet Belair; same Yellow as this but Black Roof where this one is White, right hand drive for New Zealand roads !!! I always remember that car and have always loved the 1957 Chevrolet Belair, he kept it for around 10 or so years and then purchased a new big beautiful Chevrolet Station Wagon which might have been a 1967 or 1968 model, it was a Teal Blue colour with alot of shiny Chrome on it, one of the most beautiful looking cars I had ever seen as a young boy growing up. I love the International Harvester Scout that you are looking at ~ I'm a Diesel Mechanic by trade and served my Apprenticeship at International Harvester Company of New Zealand Ltd at their Hamilton branch from 1974 until 1977 and remember the Scout although not many were imported into New Zealand. Thankyou and much Respect for the great video guys really enjoyed watching this. All the very best with the restoration of the 1957 Chevrolet 👍😎👍 Belair. PS : Hope you get the Scout !!!
On the slim chance that you guys read your posted comments, I would like to plead with you that if you do end up just flipping it, that you will sell it to someone who will restore it to stock showroom condition. This is a rather rare example having factory power windows. This car really deserves to be restored to stock and not turned into a modified or customized piece of crap. Factory original restoration all the way. Thank you for having saved this gem!!
I used to work in a Skelly station when I was in high school in about 1968. That sounded Like a really good price for the signs. I had 57 Bel A ir 4 door hard top that I sold body off of. The drive line was completely rebuild and I am going install a 2door post body on it. Have enjoy.
You guys in the US are so fortunate that so many of these places exist. I have been on farms in the uk and literally in a pile of trash in the side of a barn missing the majority of its roof i found a vintage shell oil pourer in great condition. Guess it got knocked over when it was full of oil so it protected it. Thing is worth like 600. These old places are a gold mine if you appreciate old stuff
Thank you my friend, 57s are everywhere, the Riv and the the the other metal is money. Thank you for respecting What you didn’t want. What some of us don’t want the next guy has a hard offer waiting. 👍🍻😎
So excited to see the international Scout❣️. My son had one right out of high school and somebody came in from Colorado and offered him a “Great” deal he couldn’t refuse and I want him not to take it… He’s always regretted it. 😂 Looking forward to seeing the rebuild.… Assuming they’re able to make a deal with this lady. It was so sweet just even out on the farm. Sending this to my son if he gets a deal....(as this has been he hat he’s done for his Profession for over 20 years)

I was born in 1961. And my parents drove me home from the hospital in the family car. A 1957 Chevy Belair. Ours was black with red interior. So technically, the 57 Chevy Belair is the first car I ever rode in. Definitely evokes some nostalgia. Would love to see what your find looks like after you guys rehab it. Great video!
I bought my husband a 1973 Triumph GT6MK3. There were only 500 sent over from England, and it has a plaque on the dash proving it's authenticity. It needs breaks and a lot of work like a new firewall, flooring, and the seats track straightened, but the paint is good. When I drove it over to storage about 10 years ago the engine purred. He wanted it so bad because he had one years back but he's never even drove it or been behind the wheel.

On the international scout . The 8 pin distributor goes to the scout it has an exuast plug for every cylcnder . That is how it came factory back in the day . 2 plug per cylcnder . Real engine 😎
I bough my 57 210 sports coupe 2 door in 1981. She was on the edge of a cornfield with a tree growing thru the rear floorboards. I still have her today.
The lady uses one of the oldest negotiating tricks in the book. "If you have any authority, get rid of it" that way it;s easy to rebuff low offers by saying the person with authority is not here. She played it well and the buyer paid full price.
Cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought mine back in 63 still have it, I drove it for years then I park it for 25 years and then started to fix it back in 2009. Took 9 years to do, but looks good and the best part is, I put it together myself, that took 6 months, six days a week and 10 hour days, but I can say...I put every not and bolt myself....Ohhh, the guy that did the body work, used Lead !!! and the color is Black...that is unforgiving to body work. Hope to see this one in the future, I know that lance and Wyatt will have fun.
That Buick at 4:55 is beautiful! Oh how I would love to have the rusty Buick sitting in the yard! I feel like it's the most beautiful car I have ever seen! The Body lines are so georgous! The Packard too!
Love your videos! Old cars are disappearing fast hope y’all can get the scout I always wanted one can’t wait to see y’all get the 57 going have a good one guys
152 Cubic inch slant four. Half of a 304 international stationary engine. Gear driven cam absolutely bomb proof. Of course my briggs on my riding mower has more horsepower. I have owned a few whoever put vacuum wipers in a 4,000 4 wheel drive needs dragged out of their house and beat.
Excellent !!!! Y'all have gained another subscriber with notifications turned on. It's so great seeing a Father & Son team working together. Oh btw, that Ford F-100 looks like a 1978 & it should have a 351M engine. Huge thumbs up from Mark in Ohio !!!!
That is in some peoples opinion the first factory made hot rod it was a one horse-power per cubic inch motor with dual exhaust, 283cu Power Pack, those value covers were original too. It will have a forged crank most likely. My father bought this same car as I heard many stories about it and his gas station, this was the first car he bought brand new at 21 yrs old. Cool share, really enjoy this channel.
Nice video.it proves one thing though; a man's dream of owning a fine 57 chevy will out live him.... sorry for the loss of the 85 yr old gentleman who saved that car and who no doubt had dreams of one day fixing it up to enjoy. Now he is in Heaven driving a New one.
At first I thought the scout was a 800A then you showed the inside and BAM! It’s actually a HALF CAB with a 800A top!!! The motor is literally the left side of a Chevy 350. It’s called a slant 4 if it fits a 350 it fits the slant 4. I’ve had 2 of them and they are awesome little trucks. The front axle is literally a rockwell axle in front of a Dana 20 Tcase. Great find guys
Bought my '57 Olds 98 Starfire for $75 in 1964 at 16... perfect condition but dealer couldn't get it to start... had a hidden break in the coil wire... possibly a sabotaged re-possession or something... very fast for the time... came with 371" 4 bbl. V8, 4 speed Hydramatic tranny, dual glasspacks exhaust, Atlas Bucron drag tires, possibly a cam... 135-140 MPH top end... maybe more...
This is my dream to do one day fix old vehicles up and just bring something from the past into the future for every one to enjoy one day I’ll own my own garage and get do do this to love the vids and keep up the good work
Good finds! 22:30-I remember being toted around SW colo in one of them scouts.....my grandpa had a teal/turquoise colored scout same yearish ....with a massive plow....NO HEAT no matter how much a person turned it up!
Mt grandmother on my dads side lived in Tucson, Az and back in 1990 I went to see her after she had a stroke. She had one like the one in this video and it was orange with a white top. It was her baby. They lived west of town in the desert and my uncle let me drive it to the store. Man was it a blast. There was 1 problem tho. EVERYONE knew her scout and a shit load of people at the store thought I had stolen it. lol. Great memories.
That Bel Air, being a 4-door hard top is pretty rare. Interesting that the guy also had a '56 Buick 4-door hard top. The '63 Wildcat is a highly desireable car among Buick enthusiests. I always had a soft spot for the 63-65 Rivieras, but I'd have to have a '65 if I was going to own one. Only year with the stacked headlights.
The four cylinder engine in the Scout was an IHC 304V8 cut in half, so 152 cu.in. They used every other plug wire, which is why it has an 8 cylinder distributor cap. I would guess 50-60 would be top speed, but in granny gear and the transfer case in low range, you could climb anything you had traction for.
I used to run around witha kid who had a nice packard in the sixties. His dad was a dentist, they lived in a very nice home in the woods. His dad bought it to make it look like someone was always home when they were gone to keep the burglers away. When my friend, his son, became driving age he would take it out all the time and we'd go on double dates in it. It was a very roomy and comfortable car. It was huge compared to today's cars.
I really enjoy your program. I watched the episode on the white 4 door 1957 Chevy and I just about drilled all the way through it, only because I own a 1957 Chevy that my grandmother bought brand new. I've been keeping it going since I got it in 1977.
The Packard looks like a 55 or 56. It was a high end brand priced about $4500 to 5000 fully loaded. That was twice the price of a average Chevy or Ford in the fifties.

Such a respectful young man, boy that show of respect disappeared.
Scouts are going up in price. Correct dist cap. You just use every other hole.
Chuck Stith yep, international half a V8 4 banger
Saw that scout.I would rather have that than a Bronco.
Very heavy duty engine, sodium filled exhaust valves, etc..
Great video and yes ,very respectful young man. Gotta love those 63 Riviera's.
Yep, dang.....
Awsome car, sound, american style😁😁
🇳🇴🇳🇴
Love too see all the cars get homes and get back on the road again, lot of patina😁😁
You can definitely tell when pops is liking a vehicle! And he liked the Scout
" Yes mam'. " so polite lol
Yep
I can't believe it is a 4 door!! I love it! Every Bel Air you find these days is a damn 2 door.
who wants a 4 door
Bet you felt like it was Christmas!! Keep up the good work, stay healthy too and God bless you both!!
This is actually a ten minute video made into an all day process.
The South moves slowly
That is in some peoples opinion the first factory made hot rod it was a one horse-power per cubic inch motor with dual exhaust, 283cu Power Pack, those value covers were original too. It will have a forged crank most likely. My father bought this same car as I heard many stories about it and his gas station, this was the first car he bought brand new at 21 yrs old. Cool share, really enjoy this channel.
wow, she has so many amazing future show cars sitting in a field.
Nice video.it proves one thing though; a man's dream of owning a fine 57 chevy will out live him.... sorry for the loss of the 85 yr old gentleman who saved that car and who no doubt had dreams of one day fixing it up to enjoy. Now he is in Heaven driving a New one.
Great video guys! Makes me miss Texas even more! Keep the videos coming.
I would be interested in buying the skelly signs, my grandpa was a skelly gas salesman that delivered to farmers in Iowa.
Bought my 57 Chevy 2 door, BelAir sport coupe back in March of 1972 for $700.00 when I was 18 years old. I still have it to this day.
What is the car are using as a tow truck
Mouth of the South. No volume control. 🤣 You sure run into a lot of characters. I’d much prefer the Scout to the 4-door BelAire, but that’s just me.
Excellent camera work ! Even and good detail !
Love the channel thanks for bringing us along as always
You guys are awesome...you guys keep doing what you guys do ...I like watching your channel...you guys are respectful ...
Some of those are...
Rarer than toilet paper.
Right now it seems like a mid 2000s Toyota or Honda are rarer than toilet paper.
Haha! Someone is gonna read that comment in a couple of years and have no clue 😂
😂😂😂 ...yeah, right? All the douche bags hoarding toilet paper rather than food like they're worried more about shittin' than eatin!
Toilet paper will MAGA
@@waterheaterservices Finally something will.
I really enjoy your program. I watched the episode on the white 4 door 1957 Chevy and I just about drilled all the way through it, only because I own a 1957 Chevy that my grandmother bought brand new. I've been keeping it going since I got it in 1977.
Can't believe y'all didn't go in that trailer and look through the NOS chrome.
Can't believe Y'all think if it wasnt shown on youtube it didnt happen......
Riveara has a cast iron transmission, they were a very nice car and had good power and ride , I hope to see more on that Bel-air ! Just lovely
Broke my heart to see that Packard in such bad shape. That was a quality vehicle in its day.
The packard plant is almost all the way demolished to the ground. It was an enormous plant here in Detroit. It's nothing but bones right now.
The Packard looks like a 55 or 56. It was a high end brand priced about $4500 to 5000 fully loaded.
That was twice the price of a average Chevy or Ford in the fifties.
This channel has the best videos on restoring cars won the 1st place reword
Love those old trifive Chevrolet
Some great finds there! The Pacer is AWESOME...I own 11 of those, Cant find em, So I bought em up when I did!
