My sister in law in Houston inherited her Father's 57. 283 power pack same color. Sat in her mother's garage since 1978. All original. My Brother passed away before he could restore it for her.
Wow I haven't seen my uncle Ed car for over 30 some years I'm glad to see it go to some one who will do something with it I remember sitting in that car when I was a little kid
I bought a 57 Chevy two door hardtop from a garage in West Virginia. Nice solid car. When we sanded down the body for new paint It was an original dusk pearl car.
I don’t care to know what the price was.. From what I saw & heard it was a fair price. I liked the questions you asked the seller. Plus the car still needs a lot of work if the engine is seized. Great video thanks from taking us along for the ride…
2 nice/rare colors, Canyon Coral and Dusk Pearl. Pretty much guarantee you that you won't see 2 cars of either of those 2 colors at the same car show or cruise in. What a great score. Loved the rear antenna(s), rear bumper guards and the backup lights
Enjoyed that video. It brought back memories. I was born in Millvale. Family move to Harrisburg in 1957. Haven’t been back since 1998. Lived on Sherman Street across from the Moose. Had a few beers in the Grant Bar when visiting.
I'm glad to see they got this '57 and that it'll see the road again. I'm also very happy to hear that they take pride in the fact that you paid the owner a fair price and always do. I met these guys at Fall Carlisle last month. They're good fellas.
My grandfather had me on the tractor since probably 5ish? I was backing up garden trailers from a very young age and towing a 24ft box trailer behind a dually on my learners permit lol. If there’s one thing I can do well it’s drive a trailer
I am a retired master Goodwrench, just sub'd ! Nice to see a tri 5 have a chance to get back on the street... gonna be watch'n your content. For me the top 57 is the Nomad. why? I had one w/ power glide and 283 4 bbl. also had a 60 bel air and a 64 2dr impala ss all black 327 / 4sp, and over 400 other cars. my fav was a 67 mustang gt coupe with a 390/340 hp and c6 with a posi . THX for the content!!
My sister and I would count them on the NYS Thruway going to Grandma's house from Syracuse to Rochester. Too many to count. Very popular back in those years 55-58. Made Kazillions of em.
I remember as a kid living here in Oklahoma. My dad bought a 57 Bel Air Sedan. It had factory air conditioning. That that worthless power steering system and power brakes. It was low miles. He paid a $1000 for it. He was the second owner. He bought it in nineteen seventy eight.
@m42037 It's the system they use at that point. The power steering pump was attached to the generathis it would wine, leak, And the malfunction would cause the steering wheel to bounce back and forth.
1976 as a 11 kid was a good year growing up here in northern calif riding bikes n climbing trees n bulding a fort house n those 57 were about 50$ to 150 $ 🇺🇲
The first car I had was a ‘57 Chevy two door post. It was blue and white, all original. I drove it for about 12 years and then my crazy x husband insisted on selling it. Sold it in the late 80’s for $700. I cried. I loved that car. I live in NC It was dark blue with a white top, 289 engine with power glide automatic transmission. The only thing wrong with the original interior was the carpet over the hump in the back floorboard was worn out from where my son stood all the time. He is almost 56 now so you didn’t have to strap a child in all those years ago.
In 78 anyone could pick that up for 300 tops. I bought one with a six, for 50 bucks, ran allover the state with it and gave it a way. Still ran like a top after beating it for 6 months.
That is a little pinker than the factory Dusk Pearl.Under side of trunk shot in the video shows that. Probably a repaint at some point in its life. I've got a Dusk Pearl 57 Nomad i inherited from my Dad.

In 1981 I bought a '57 Bel Air 2 door Hardtop at a classic car lot I paid $3,500 nice original car I enjoyed it for awhile & I sold it for $4,250. In 2011 I bought a '57 Bel Air convertible in mint condition & I lost money on it when I sold it in 2014. Then I bought a '57 Bel Air 2 dr. Hardtop & I lost money on that also in 2014. I used to work in the building you're parked at at the 18:21 mark! Lots of uh....interesting stories about things that happened there lol
As much as it looked like it would be a PITA to navigate that property, the car came out relatively easy with no real hiccup. 👍

For Pennsylvania that’s a really nice car. Hope it runs as nice as some of your truck purchases.
some of them Pittsburgh side streets are fun with a truck and a trailer
A true classic.
Can you please fix the door flappers? Can't stand it when they are stuck.

Coral is the perfect 1950's color.
My dad had a blue one in 1962. I’m 63 years old now I barely remember it nice car though.
I believe Chevy called that color some kind of 'coral'. My family had a 4 dr sedan BelAir in that color from 1957 to about 1962.
a tub of rubbing compound and some non spoke wheels new shocks and tires tune up that would fetch good money keep it stock no crappy LS junk
