Thanks Studson for coming up with this challenge. This was incredibly fun to watch the process and see how creative minds come up with different designs. I also found a few new crafting channels to subscribe to. MOAR!!!!
I started out wanting it to be funny, but anakins story is actually a total tragedy and it ended up more serious, but im really happy with the result. I got kinda choked up making it too lol
Fun fact: you can refill those salt & pepper shakers by soaking the caps in very hot water to soften them and then they pull right off. This probably would have helped getting the mechanism apart too.
I never thought of that twin suns that way, luke looking out into the distance with a choice, just as his father had a choice, also great vid/project.keep going.
When you struggle to disassemble pieces made of plastic, you can try to heat them. Most of the time it works way better than brute force and is less risk of injuries.
Wow . This is totally awesome. This has to be the best scratchbuilt podracer I have seen. Love how you made the little pilot. He looks like an actual one from Star Wars.
Those birds were creepy. Great build, Eric. You have really lifted my game with all your builds. Inspired me to finish my SW Legion A-Wing terrain build. Thank you.
That's a great Pod Racer, and the "special effects" shots and the Anakin tribute were priceless. The pilot head you made is lovely. Birds are tiny, tiny dinosaurs; so what do you expect them to sound like when slowed down? :D
That sand bit was amazing. I genuinely forgot what I was watching for a minute there. You're editing and overall production value has improved immensely.
I searched for podracer model kits/kitbashes/scratch builds and there were hardly any results. thanks to you and all the other creators for making these amazing videos!!!
You sure this isnt a kit you just bought Eric and used some fancy trick photography to have us believe this was actually scratch built? I'm on to you and your channel man... 🤔
I thought it looked too good to be scratchbuilt. From the opening sequence I figured this must be a reference model kit, but I just watched him build it in the last 18 or so mins...🤔 All joking aside, very nicely done Eric. Top notch job! 👍
If you soak the salt/pepper grinders (lid side down) in hot water for a few minutes you can pull the lids off really easily. This is also how you can refill them. Might be helpful for the future!
Damn, you made that face sculpting look easy! And as someone who is trying it I can confirm face sculpting around 28mm scale IS NOT EASY! Respect. The rest of the build is very cool too, obviously, but since I had pigeonholed Eric as 'Terrain guru Eric', well... Now just overall hobby (and TV critic) guru. Excellent work!
Hey I came to your video from Bill & Studsun. Really cool build. Liked your podracer a lot. Seeing you sculpt your pilot (great choice for the character!) it's too bad you didn't know what you were doing. Sculpting wise that is. However he turned out phenomenal. I don't believe you & Anakin will be friends though. The sand thing might be a non starter.
Ok I gotta applaud you staying on theme with some scrumptious realism along with your honest commentary- /chefs kiss/ well done. Great content, very informative!! (Edit: Emglimpsh)
Badass video man! And look at you with all the extra fun extras in there, lol. Noice. The build is excellent (as usual). That greenstuffed dude was fantastic. Always amazed at your mad skillz. May the Fourth be with you! Also, why the hell haven't I joined your patreon club yet? I must correct this I think...
"If it falls off...what can you do?" Um, glue it back on. Or, you could roll your chance cube and let that decide. ROFL Seriously, somebody make sure Adam Savage sees this. Brilliant.
Looks awesome. Fantastic video and build. Those bits from the dollar tree final faction action figure sets are seriously some of the best greeblies for any kind of sci fi scratch building. I have already raided my local dollar tree and cleared them out of their stock on multiple occasions.
A bit late to the party - let's claim the timewarp - this is so full of win, let alone the intro. Loving all of it. What really amazed is your awesome scuplting skill
Holy tiny sculpted character!! New sub from Studson and Bills channels! Due to this cool Collab!! Glad I found you!! Wow you guys have really similar techniques! Cool beans
Hi Eric . Great stuff, you were first on my list of recomendations (although i am already subbed to the others) So here i am. Enjoy as always your builds but this time you went a step up with that sculpture, nice. On the downside, as you put a photo of the other challenge entries at the end i have no need to go see them now. Pity. All the best.
Hey man, pro sculptors mix putty's all the time. Greenstuff on the armature and polyclay on the greenstuff is one way to do it that works great. You just need to let the greenstuff cure some with a thin layer of polyclay over it. Then start adding more polyclay. 👍👍
BILL MAKING STUFF!
Sorry Bill I didn’t mean to call you Bill Making Things 3 different times.
Bruh moment
Bill Making Things is his father. Not to be confused with his evil twin, Bill Making Crap
@Keenan Mohamed naw way braaaa!
Shameless plug. I approve!
Your green stuff sculpting is impressive. You must be very proud.
Thanks Studson for coming up with this challenge. This was incredibly fun to watch the process and see how creative minds come up with different designs. I also found a few new crafting channels to subscribe to. MOAR!!!!
He is one with the force..
Moar moar moooar! I’d love to join once I get my creative side sparked up
oh wow birds at 10% speed birds are the mating call of the Dewback.
just needs some sultry saxophone music over top
That mini edit of star wars gave me the chills. I know it was parody, but it was also moving !
I started out wanting it to be funny, but anakins story is actually a total tragedy and it ended up more serious, but im really happy with the result. I got kinda choked up making it too lol
I actually teared up a little... 💜
Legit the best 2 min summary of the prequels I've ever seen. It hit the emotional beats perfectly
I really like how you choose not to include Anakin in his Vader helmet.
Came here for the build, stayed for the feels.
This could be sold as a very high-end themed Salt and Pepper grinder at William Sonoma.
Should've filled one with salt and the other with pepper lol
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop 😭😭😭
I'm only 4 minutes in and there's so many star wars jokes to unpack here. Love it!
And still only 1/4 the density of jokes as Studson 😂
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop I watched yours first. So to me, it just looks like he's copying all your jokes. Keep up the good work Eric!
That intro is pure cinema magic... nice building with you Erik!
Fun fact: you can refill those salt & pepper shakers by soaking the caps in very hot water to soften them and then they pull right off. This probably would have helped getting the mechanism apart too.
Didn't expect that Sand cut to get so emotional.
Yeah, I mean wow, that little montage really hits where it hurts 😭
I did not realize that Eric was the true incarnation of the chosen one in our universe but this is good info, I'll keep this in mind going forward
I never thought of that twin suns that way, luke looking out into the distance with a choice, just as his father had a choice, also great vid/project.keep going.
Got weirdly deep didnt it lol
oh my god that sand edit was art
👨🎨
Come for the build, get wowed by the Sullustan sculpt and then hit in the feels by Anakin. Great job Eric!
When you struggle to disassemble pieces made of plastic, you can try to heat them. Most of the time it works way better than brute force and is less risk of injuries.
Look at you with your logic and good ideas!
“I wish I hadn’t done that.” BWAHAHAHA. Hilarious! Thank you for that.
That Sullustan head looks like it could have come off an official toy! Excellent sculpting!
Thanks Joey!! I am pretty pleased with that little guy
Wow . This is totally awesome. This has to be the best scratchbuilt podracer I have seen. Love how you made the little pilot. He looks like an actual one from Star Wars.
the painting part is my favourite!! gonna cry now. an amazing creation btw. the sullustan is perfect!
This turned out absolutely awesome! Excellent work master of sand.
Awesome build Eric! And talk about how you nailed Watto!
Thanks! I love a good chance cube
Those birds were creepy. Great build, Eric. You have really lifted my game with all your builds. Inspired me to finish my SW Legion A-Wing terrain build. Thank you.
As always, Eric just pops out another masterpiece
thanks Jan-Philip, very kind
Brilliant work on this Eric, really nice mate :) Loved both the build and parody edits, keep it coming!
The build was resourceful, clever and great, but i'm specially amazed by the pilot sculpting
That's a great Pod Racer, and the "special effects" shots and the Anakin tribute were priceless. The pilot head you made is lovely.
Birds are tiny, tiny dinosaurs; so what do you expect them to sound like when slowed down? :D
Good point, I will have to investigate the roars of other tiny dinosaurs
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Brain like the sound of this
This video is amazing. Your sculpting is brilliant and that detour into sand was truly mind-blowing. Very happy to have found this channel!
Thank you! Comments like this mean a lot, I appreciate it
I liked this video, when the birds chirped in -90X. Thank you.
Also amazing build.
That sand bit was amazing. I genuinely forgot what I was watching for a minute there. You're editing and overall production value has improved immensely.
Your micro greenstuff modeling is amazing, I'm impressed. The pepperengines are hot. Great build.
Great sculpting skills !!
I searched for podracer model kits/kitbashes/scratch builds and there were hardly any results. thanks to you and all the other creators for making these amazing videos!!!
Super nice build. Looks great. Your editing and cutscenes were brilliant. As for the chipboard nailed on, "If it works, it ain't stupid."
You sure this isnt a kit you just bought Eric and used some fancy trick photography to have us believe this was actually scratch built? I'm on to you and your channel man...
🤔
Shhh!!! Dont tell them ALL my secrets 😂
I thought it looked too good to be scratchbuilt. From the opening sequence I figured this must be a reference model kit, but I just watched him build it in the last 18 or so mins...🤔
All joking aside, very nicely done Eric. Top notch job! 👍
I absolutely love the love you show for the prequels and you got some serious greeble/kit bashing/sculpting skills man!
That Darth Vader sequence was great. Oh, and the sculpt was good too.
If you soak the salt/pepper grinders (lid side down) in hot water for a few minutes you can pull the lids off really easily. This is also how you can refill them.
Might be helpful for the future!
I'm seriously impressed with the pilot. Great sculpting work! If I'd tried that he would have looked like a potato
Excellent video!
Humour game bar is raised 1100%
Great build! It definitely looks like something you'd see in the actual pod race.
You are good at sculpting! And that guy is tiny! Well done
I just cannot stop watching the credits segment. There is something so 90s about that...
Amazing Project. Ima sure to check out the other builds. Also excellent Intro. And most of all: Happy #StarWarsDay everybody!
Thanks Ben!!
Always continuing to make good stuff, love it. And I really enjoyed that little movie edit there, nice
Great looking build, just need to get all the podracers together and animate them in a race =)
Including yours even though you were not mentioned!!! Unfair.
@Miniature Hobbyist I saw you made one too! You should have messaged one of us before hand and we could have included you!
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop no worries, they all look awesome and maybe I will be in the next one =)
This is an awesome podracer, but this video will always live in my mind as one of the best heartfelt Star Wars supercuts.
Dude. That Anakin montage was SO. GOOD.
Genius idea on choosing the color. Simple but fun.
Joins a pod racing crafting challenge, delivers a complete desert scene replete with stone pillars and sci-fi architecture. Subbed!
You can see how to make those other projects in some of my other videos!
I love seeing nearly all of my favorite crafters in a collab. Amazing work!
Great scratch building! The sculpting looks really good and I have done some figures too. Thanks for sharing this.
This video was already awesome and then you hit us with the sand. Epic.
Damn, you made that face sculpting look easy! And as someone who is trying it I can confirm face sculpting around 28mm scale IS NOT EASY! Respect. 'Now there are two of them.' Hahaha. Your jokes are so low key i have to keep doing double takes. Lovely work man!
Sculpting skills advancing...great job
Thanks! Its getting more and more fun as my skills build. Expect more in future :)

From one Erik to another Eric, I appreciate your existence.
I commented that right before the bit about sand...My feelings are everywhere....just like the sand
Same man. Same
This was really cool. How your brain works is always amazing

LOVE the comb power cable idea!
Thank you for the comb trick. so simple, ingenious
Not bad right?!!
I know that 3D printing is faster and that not everyone has traditional making skills...but god damn it is SO nice to see someone going old school ❤

Very impressive with the head sculpt for that scale, awesome work!
Sandy and dandy, awesome build m8
I havent seen ep1 but I dont think it's going to live up to my expections now that I've watched your pod racing scene.
Wow amazing... I like your atmosphere setting... 👍

Love it 😍
That comb trick though! I'm gonna try that.
thats a lot of podracers in my recommendations
Excellent vid Eric
Crazy to see a mini in a moving video!
Nice work on the Sullustan, sir!
Wow, inspired job, thanks for sharing! 👍👍

Man, this was a wild video. I am so happy I found this channel a few weeks ago.
Nice way to create a cable from greenstaff! Thanks a lot!
In just the green stuff he looked like the creature from the black lagoon. Awsome vid man
Petition to change this channel's name to:
"ERIC HOBBY BUNKI-DUNKO"
Very cool clip about Anakin, loved it!
Got here from Boylei Hobby Time's build. Cool stuff man!
Glad you liked it!

Watching you destroy the shakers inspired me to make a crashed podracer terrain piece for my legion map
Absolutely, your best work. Kudos.
Eric's Hobby Workshop + Star Wars. I had to watch.
Now this is prequel posting.
Yippee!!
Great impression. 👍

I think you capture the emotion better than Anakin, nice acting
