I think something that would help with the feeling of speed is dust clouds being kicked up by the engines and maybe some "speed lines" coming off the pod racers themselves.
In an absolute sense, fins open right would make a right bank. However, the pods are moving relative to each other. The Anakin pod is doing what we see in the movie a couple times - hard jank followed by a slam forward to get around the pod in front of him.
I pretty much never comment on here but I need to mention how serendipitous it is that this popped up in my feed after I played Episode 1 Racer a ton this week. And off course, fantastic build! Very much inspiring me to put together a pod racer.
Nicely done. Oddly enough I cannot seem to find LED noodles like those. I would like to for my own projects. Gorgeous modeling. You should do wonderfest!
Hi, Dafydd from Terraintronics here. I'm really really biased. :) I have them at my store - fast shipping in the US (not quite as good as Amazon, but they'll be in the mail within 24 hours!)
Awesome build! Sneaky though! You didn’t ask me for ANY help! I normally know when a collaborators video is coming due to the slew of questions beforehand! Clearly, you’re a pro with this stuff! Looking forward to collaborating with you in the future.
The prequels were good. I feel safe saying that now given recent developments. Great idea to make a race scene! They really come to life! Elijiah wins the contest for sure.
Love this one - and been a goal of mine to do. Awesome outcome! The one from modeling medic also came out great and I love the lighting and dust trails he added!
This is incredible work, as always, Boylei! And your motion-effect on the base really sells the scene! Not too bad for an 'experimental' idea . . . . Though "The Phantom Menace" has its detractors, one thing that I appreciate about it is the now iconic Pod Racing scene; mainly for the inspiration that the basic concept provided for modelers of Science Fiction subjects. Though Anakin's Pod was the only one actually kitted, (I would have also liked a model of the one Sebulba used,) the idea of Pod Racing has inspired thousands of scratch built examples that are as unique as they are canon-compliant - like the two you have framing Anakin in this scene. I suspect that even diehard "Star Wars" fans would be hard-pressed to realize that your designs are originals that weren't actually in the movie. Thanks for sharing this build with us! My Like is in the 1.4Ks.
Hey dude! Just wanted to let you know I was binging your wild imaginary west playlist, and noticed that your western building 9 video isn't in the list 💙 This was so rad!! I've only discovered you a few days ago, and I've already learned so much from watching your videos. Thanks for sharing your work
The streaks on the backdrop look odd on their own, but in the context that the eye or camera is following the fast vehicles, it gives the impression that the ground is zooming past and streaking the camera lens, very nice.
The PS2 Pod Racing game is pretty awesome and fun too. 👍 That came out awesome especially since it has been a long work in process, it is very cool. 👍👍👍
Awesome. On earth, increasing the drag by opening the fins would pull the aircraft to the right. I don’t remember how it was in the film. Either way, who cares? It looks great!
I just did my first model yesterday and completed it! It is a WW2 U.S. Consolidated B-24J Liberator. I think I could have done better but for my first model, I think it’s pretty good 👍
Dude, love your work. Especially your “wild imaginary west” works. Given me tons of helpful knowledge I’ve been using to amplify D&D with my friends. Working on some cowboy marine inspired guardsmen rn 🤠
I personally think that this diorama is one of my favorites of yours. I do think that a barotrauma model would be cool or like a monster chasing a submarine
Given me a good reason to watch the movie again. Cool. Kind of inspired me to finish off my "Luke in the trench, Death Star" diorama I started - that was to have a blurry effect, I built the small scale Revell ships but got stuck on how to proceed with the scene. You have some great ideas. (Like the kid's Lego pod, by the way.) 👍
Dang....the patrons builds deserve their own video. Wow
👆 this!
Really! There were some outstanding builds! I need to rewatch and pause on them!
I agree 100%!
Some of them do!

I came here to make this comment.

I always appreciate you mentioning the safety steps you take. You see to many people glossing over some of the hazards of the hobby.
Watch those bindings... they could make your hand go numb for hours.
@@AllGoodOutside I once spent a whole weekend with too many glue fumes, and was coughing up blood for days.

I came to say this too, if Ani was banking left, the left airbrakes would be opened up 🤓😶 your explanation is perfect though
IT'S 25 YEARS SINCE THE PHANTOM MENACE!?!?!?!?!?! Thanks my knees hurt.
That's what I said...
Edit: The kid that played young Anakin would be about 35 now.
25 years of disappointment.
Really? Has it been that long already?
The Nintendo pod racer game was awesome.
You feel old? I farted and threw my back out! Getting old is no fun 😅😭
But 25 years?! Dang... Might need to go back and watch it again now
The pod race in one of the first Star Wars movies is still one of my favorite scenes!
"one of the first movies"........yes......way to make me feel old.😭
love the patrons builds! wow! especially ForestMoon Jawa podracer 2024 at 9:49...great to see what patrons are up to...
The patrons really did well this time and the addition of the fiber fill for dust was amazing. Maybe you need to update this model already.
i like that you added "Are you an Angel" when Anakin and Padme first meet.
Adam Hill's pod racer is astonishing.
Thanks!!!
Masterful work Boylei and fantastic work by the Patrons too!
I just realized those led noodles are perfect for a ghostbusters diorama.
What are those led called
I pretty much never comment on here but I need to mention how serendipitous it is that this popped up in my feed after I played Episode 1 Racer a ton this week.
And off course, fantastic build! Very much inspiring me to put together a pod racer.
That was just a pleasure to watch, those glowey noodle lights just take that build to a whole different level.
Awesome! I feel like you should keep adding more racers to this down the line 😁
Man I wish your videos were longer! I could watch you make awesome things for hours!😍
The Conwy board from Terrain Tronics is the real deal....a total game changer. Great job!
You have no idea how nice it is to read this, having no idea in advance that you’d written it.
I think the airbrushed movement looks beautiful, what an amazing idea!
Very convenient your previous racers were all about the same 1/32 scale. A fine addition to your collection. Watto would be impressed.
You know it’s a good day when Boylei Hobby Time posts 🫡
Oh yeah this is where the fun begins

Uh... yeah...that motion effect....absolutely fantastic.
The pod race was in fact awesome.
I have never clicked on a video so fast! Prequels rule!
Me neither!!
Prequels are the best
Originals, Brilliant!
Prequels, awesome.
There were no sequels...
@@DanBoy42I heard some group of people tried making prequels. Very unheard of and hated by the little that viewed them.
No. Only TPM is good. AOTC is horrid.
the air brushing makes it look like they're flying over mountains way down below them. I think that could be a useful technique for future dioramas.
That is cool. Love the star wars dioramas. 👍
The airbrush move was a solid choice. Looks great with everything in place. Really heat build
At some point there should be a public gallery for all your dioramas so that they can be enjoyed in all their glory.
The tool gag reminds me of Leslie Nielsen gag, love it

Every year you do a new podracer. Keep at it and you'll have an army.
I think you should leave some good surprises in your videos.
Love this one - and been a goal of mine to do. Awesome outcome! The one from modeling medic also came out great and I love the lighting and dust trails he added!
They can literally still make a podracer movie and nobody would complain, that's how good the concept is. Why they still don't I have no clue.
This diorama turned out so good the speed streaks you painted on has a good effect

loooooooooove this lego level in the the complete saga and this video
You should do a maze runner diorama of the maze or either the final city scene.
Nice! I love all the boards from Terrain Tronics!
Thank you Tim!
Phantom Menace had some rough writing but still had more creativity, designs and worldbuilding and ideas then all of the SW sequels
I have been watching this guy since the beginning and he has got better at every one and me to he made me like models more and more

They need to bring back Pod Racing in the future or at least a cameo appearance of it. Great work btw 👌🏽

funny seeing you here! :)

I wish they would make a podracer movie or novel. The stories in the video game were pretty cool.

i bet you would make a super awesome Deep Rock Galactic diorama! dwarves, bugs, and oppressive mining conglomerates. rock and stone!
