Apologies for the constant changing brightness levels. I realized halfway through filming this that my camera settings weren't correct. Also, the low resolution! So much to learn about doing video... The next will be better!
You forgot to give credit to Bill Making stuff, Scratch bashing and Eric’s workshop. But that’s okay Btw i liked and subbed. Your videos are really good
Thanks a ton! Love your work and your videos! Would've never started doing this had it not been for you and Boylei Hobby Time. It's pretty wild that you both found my teeny tiny channel today!
Hello hello! I'm surprised it took UA-cam so long to recommend gameyy's channel to me, I've been watching your and stud's videos for over a year now and lots of other crafters and scratchbuilders too. Love love love watching what you guys do, absolutely incredible!
I just laughed all the way through . I love the build, and the running commentary was an excellent mix of descriptive detail on what/where/why/when and who + the witty comments etc. Rock on brother.
Awesome job bro, love the format and commentary, and your the build was awesome throughout. I was honestly surprised at the number of subscribers from the quality of the video, but now you've got another one. Keep up the good work my man
Really impressive to see how far youre come. I'm learning to scratchbuild myself. Im a fan of loads of you wonderful artisans of junk. But i gotta say, you gameyy are my main inspiration.
😒i envy you gamey, i mean like your so resourceful, i could never make something like you can, especially out of scratch, i wish i could make something like you, but i know i never could but at least i can watch you! so keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now it makes sense why you remind me so much of Boylei, lol. Great work! After seeing that random suggestion that popped up about the mech, I just had to start at the bottom of your videos list so I could catch all the stories of your world through your creations. :D
I've been binging your videos for a few hours and I like the work you do. You've mentioned Boylei a few times... and to be honest I like your work much more. His pieces lack personality and are more often than not model kits slapped on a base. I feel you have a better handle on the nuances of a piece that gives it a sense of realism.
This is awesome! In my opinion, this is the best scratch build podracer I have seen yet! (Although I do still like those other guys) Keep up the good work!
Awesome looking pod racer. It's great to watch the process and see it go from bits and stuff to a painted come to life racer. It definitely looks like it should be on the course on Tatooine. Great build. 👍
Pretty awesome, man. Honestly. I like the choice of green. And the yellow and red worked out a lot better than I than I thought untill I saw the final. Can't wait for more videos.
I just discovered your channel and I've loved all the videos I've watched to this point, keep up the good work. I also loved they subtle Star Wars reference at 2:05...well played :)
@@gameyybuilds you're welcome.. Ive been loving this type of stuff lately.. if you are interested, we would love to have you on our show some time, if you are interested :)
Man the dust clouds won me over in this build, it certainly conveyed the speed of the racer, I also loved the color choices for the engines, they remind me of ww2 planes, overall very well done, you just gained another subscriber.
Thanks so much! And yeah I was definitely trying to convey the movement here, which was the main reason for making the podracer sit on the base at a slanted angle and adding the dust. Appreciate your feedback!
Jet engine lesson; basically, starting at the front, the fan blades at the intake are called the compressor blades, (not the turbine) which suck in the air and (you guessed it) compress it before fuel is added and ignited in the combustion chamber. The exhaust gasses passes through another set of fan blades, which are called the turbine blades, and which in turn, drive the compressor blades. The exhaust then exits the back of the engine through what are called ejector flaps (the trapezoid shaped flaps you didn’t know the term for). On military planes, there’s a secondary combustion chamber between the turbine and ejector flaps, which is called the afterburner.
I stand by that claim! It’s aged very well and has been the inspiration for many other race scenes, even if the movie as a whole left much to be desired!
I think a few greeblies thrown on the clothespins would have been just enough to make them not look like clothespins anymore. Super fun build to watch though!
Spoiler alert the rubbish bounty hunter that Han shot first, Greedo is the same alien who was Anakin's friend, not just the same race but the actual same guy!
Not bad. If I may, the racers in the movie were typically much bigger than what you made, meaning while it's probably functional in universe, your racer is SUPER tiny. The guy should have been maybe a fourth of his size if you wanted to make it more scale accurate.
I so wish that 'using the Force' did involve going "Uuuurrrghhh...!" [and probably making a straining poo face as well] - wouldn't Star Wars just be amazing if they did that..?!!
You can’t know the name of the Rodian race and ignore that the two characters you’re mentioning are the one and only Greedo. Obvious comment bait. I’m here to serve. 😅
@@gameyybuilds Actually the most funny part is that just a few thousand planets are inhabited. A typical Galaxy such as ours has 400 billion star systems containing thousands of billions planets. ☺️
like a lot of youtube scratchers i have notice that you also do not know how to use a knife .on several sections of your video you are seen cutting towards your hands.mainly the part between thumb and first finger .not only will you lose blood ...and quite a lot if you hit a vien which the hands have lots of ...but also you will hit tendons and guiders which make your hands move .re watch the land scape carving section ...youll see what i mean .stay safe podder .
You're absolutely right, and actually I cut myself on my last build doing just this thing. Unfortunately however, I find that often the proper way/direction/angle of cutting feels very awkward and unnatural, especially when working with small pieces that are difficult to hold down. Thanks for looking out, though!
Seriously though. Are the engines the pods of the podracer or is the cockpit the pod? I will never sleep soundly until I find the answer. 🤣🫣 Loved the video. Amazing build as always. Excellent build and video. Subbed. Looking forward to more.

It's remarkable how far all of your skills (video editing and recording, drawing and modeling) have advanced in just the past few years.
Thank you so much 😀

Flappy things = variable afterburner exhaust nozzle, they help prevent back pressure and also fully adjustable for maximum exhaust acceleration 👍🏼
Awesome, thank you!

Hi Bill! Love your channel! Thanks for stopping by!

since you like the SW cut-away book, you should check out the Art of Episode 1. It's about 50x better than the movie.
