- Wiper motor comes loose from mounting bracket and this throws everything out of alignment with the wipers. Wipers wipe past the edge of the glass and get stuck. Wipers are in the middle of the glass and barely move.
This is exactly what happened to my escape a couple days ago. My BF and I after watching this fixed it in under an hour. We are not mechanics! Thank you!
Don’t have a Ford Escape but this was the ONE video I could find that described my problem to my dad! I replaced my windshield and the guy broke it or didn’t screw something back. Sucky but this video helped. Thankyou!!
This really saved my boyfriend and I today. We had been driving to Florida from Pennsylvania and weren't even half way through the commute. It was 5am in the morning and the rain had been continuous when the wipers on his car decided to act strange. We didn't have the same tools but managed to make the concept work quite well for us. Given that we would have been delayed roughly five hours if we had waited out the rain instead of fixing the issue, we were in a pickle. This was the only video that was related to our issue. So thank you SO much for posting this!
That’s the problem I just had today during this tropical storm (Fey). I’m glad it’s an easy fix. Thanks for the video man! (Mine is a 2005)
Hope it works! Stay safe, stay well, and thanks for watching.
@@tailgatetalk worked like a charm! thanks again!
Very helpful! My car had the exact same problem and this helped me get it fixed in under an hour. Thanks man!

In my Ford Escape 2013 juts replaced this part and it will go on again I didn’t had to do all this
Melgarejo J what part did you replace
em bfb that switch I got it from the dealer after 4 days was doing the same again I also replace negative cable from the dealer and it was worse wipers won’t stop so I went back to the old one and was working the solution for me I juts disconnect the negative sensor and leave it like that after that wipers works great never going crazy again
What length self tapping screws did you use?
I wish I could tell you. It's been months ago since I did this. Good news is that it still works. Best guess is a 1/2" #12 screw.
Mine broke in two pieces. I will have to glue it wit h epoxy.
guess they didnt invent lights yet
A little more showing, a little less telling.
